Postby PotatoFarmers » Wed Jul 14, 2021 12:03 am

Hello one and all to the 13th edition of the Independent Associations Championship! A grand total of forty-four teams, not belonging to one of the big 4 sporting regions, will gather here in Poafmersia to fight to be the "Champion of the Rest".

The unique 3-stage tournament will see 44 teams play 4 games against one another for a stage in the 32-team group stage. The fixture release will be ICly held in FIskadaha City, Poafmersia, in a relatively closed-door event, where only invited representatives will be here to witness the team placement contest. Teams will be split into 4 pots, and each team will be given a "placement number". A computer algorithm has previously confirmed the fixtures based on these "placement numbers", these will be released prior to the fixture release ceremony.

Cutoffs will be between 8-9pm AWST (12 noon - 1pm UTC). Scorination will be done using xkoronate 0.3.3, with the SQIS formula, and additive modifiers between -5 and +5. Please indicate your modifier in a clear and obvious manner in your roster post.

RP, Roster Information
As per the bid, rosters posted before 1st cutoff will be entitled up to 1.5x Matchday RP bonus. Anything after will continue to be entitled up to 1x Matchday RP Bonus. Teams without roster before 5th cutoff (30th July) will get a roster penalty of 1.5x Matchday RP Bonus.
Quality and effort of the RPs will be taken into account. Although this was not listed in the bid, the host will be posting a cumulative RP report at certain intervals, detailing the range of RPs bonuses given, as well as some additional statistical information. Users who are interested in their current RP progress may give me a TG for a rough estimate of their RP bonuses anytime during/after the tournament.
To assist in RPing, there will be additional prompts given in cutoff posts. These are prompts relating to worldbuilding and the football team, though there is no penalty/bonus for following such prompts.

You may start posting rosters/RPs in this thread now! Apart from my IC info post, please do not reserve any posts/rosters, thank you.

For the newcomers to NS Sports, participating in a tournament in this forums for the first time, do have a read at the Guide to Sports Roleplaying, linked above! For more info on how to start a roster, I have linked some information in the spoiler below, explaining about RP permisions, style mods and all.

Before any tournament begins, it is common courtesy to post a roster. A roster may include: Background to your country; Information about your players; Sharing about your football playing style; How your fans interact with out fans in this nation; some of the special information others should know when roleplaying about the match between your team and their team.

In your roster post please include the ever useful RP permissions box to let your opponents know what you're okay with them doing in their post-match RPs. A common template is as follows:
RP PERMISSIONS
If my opponent roleplays first, they may:
Choose my starting lineup: Y/N
Choose my goalscorers: Y/N
Godmod scoring events: Y/N
RP injuries to my players: Y/N
Godmod injuries to my players: Y/N
Hand out yellow cards to my players: Y/N
Hand out red cards to my players: Y/N
Godmod other events: Y/N

You may also include a style modifier which reflects your national team's style of football in the roster. The modifier is a number (typically up to 3 decimal places), between -5 and +5. The most defensive of teams will use a style modifier of -5, while the most aggressive of teams will use a style modifier of +5. Teams who play a more balanced style may use a style modifier of 0. Do note that this will not affect your chances of victory/defeat, it only affects how the final scoreline may be. For instance, looking at a one-goal win, two really aggressive teams have a higher possibility of scoring 7 goals in a 4-3 victory for one; two really defensive teams are more likely to end up having a 1-0 scoreline instead.

Changelog:
140721, 1507 UTC: Added last confirmed entry to name list, emphasized that reservation of rosters is not permitted.
150721, 0107 UTC: Added fixture order to Stage 1 & Stage 2 matches
150721, 1430 UTC: Added basic guidance to a roster for newcomers.
160721, 1400 UTC: Updated with Stage 1 pots, fixture list, link to IAC spreadsheet.
200721, 1324 UTC: Fixed a minor error with Stage 1 MD1 fixture (Garbelia vs Volinovia), the fixture was relocated to the other stadium in Holhot. Added links to rosters too.
230721, 1400 UTC: Added more links to rosters, also MD1 and MD2 cutoff posts.
270721, 1300 UTC: Add more links to rosters, MD3 cutoff posts, prep for Stage 2 table.
270721, 1525 UTC: Updated Stage 2 Pots and Team Order. MD4 cutoff post link added.

Note: Sorry for the delay. Thought I should put this IC info up first. Images to be updated when I get full access to my image repo back.

Welcome to Poafmersia! The Ministry of Business and Trade (MBT), through the Poafmersian Tourism Board (PTB), has published various guides to Poafmersia, giving visitors from around the multiverse some information about the Poafmersian culture, heritage, and a guide to the various states and major cities in Poafmersia. The guides are often never exhaustive, and depending on the group of visitors and their purposes, PTB often customise these guides to allow them to be more informed prior to the nation of Poafmersia. In conjunction with the Ministry of Arts, Sports and Culture (MASC), the PTB has published this version of the sports guide - for fans and visiting teams coming to Poafmersia for the 13th Independent Associations Championship (IAC).

All about Poafmersia
Poafmersia is a really huge country located in The North Pacific, with a size of 1.78 million square kilometers. Home to approximately 850 million residents, the country is well known for its really idealistic policies and governance system. Many Poafmers consider the nation to be at the forefront of "pioneering government policies", ranging from her environmental policies, her system of governance, as well as building a multicultural society. Even though the majority belong to the Jaffan race, Poafmersia is home to 27 ethnicities in total, according to government estimates. The true proportion of these ethnicities, however, is not official tracked, under the "Ethnic Protection Act" which forbids collection of data related to ethnicity.

Transportation
Many visitors may find themselves unused to the transportation system in Poafmersia. The nation's emphasis on environmental protection has made public transport the main method of transport for Poafmers and visitors alike. While there are inter-city roads that are open for private vehicles, these vehicles are not allowed with many city limits, including Trimidau Island, City of Mancodas, City of Dalaris, Fiskadaha City, and Holhot, among other places. For small groups who require personalised transport, they would typically charter minibuses or electric taxis, which are readily available in big cities. Otherwise, the rail system or the public buses is the main method of travel.

Between cities, there are inter-city railways, as well as cross-state buses, that allow for travel from one side of the country to other. For smaller counties and townships, there are also shuttle train and bus services that serve these areas. Because such places may be out of the place and may not be as well connected, residents in these places may be more likely to own private vehicles. There are rules and regulations in place governing the ownership of these vehicles, as well as the type of vehicles.

For the 43 teams coming to Poafmersia, it would be possible to charter buses for the teams to travel from a city to another for matches. The alternative, however, would be to charter trains - and many major inter-city railways have express tracks for express services, that would allow for quicker travel alternatives. There are also 4 high-speed rail services that serve different parts of the country, namely the Mancodas-Fiskadaha Express (between Mancodas and Fiskadaha City); the Trimidau-Dalaris Rail (between City of Dalaris and Trimidau Island); the Holhot-Fiskadaha Line (between Fiskadaha City and Holhot, with selected stops at major cities such as Sarim, Jackinson and Paishi-jak); and the North-South Railway (starting at Madaris, stopping in the outer limits of Greater Mancodas, Fiskadaha City, before moving on to Georgetown, on the inner limits of the City of Dalaris).

Culture
Poafmersia is very welcoming to foreign visitors who are exploring the country. The people's openness to visitors was something that couldn't be taken for granted a decade ago - when Poafmersia was largely isolationist. Sports has been a major avenue where Poafmers have gained exposure to foreign nations, especially in football, which is the most popular and successful sport in Poafmersia. Other major sports include volleyball, hockey (both field and ice hockey), badminton and aquatics, though the skill level of the sportsmen largely varies.

In Poafmersia, racial and gender stereotypes are frowned upon. In many sports, men and women co-exist in national leagues, and gender neutral terms are largely preferred. As such, conversations that crosses the racial and gender lines will probably get you into trouble, so visitors should be careful of that. Care for the environment is something that is extremely unique in Poafmersia. Visitors in hotel rooms would be expected to sort out their waste between recyclables and non-recyclables. At restaurants and dining places, food wastes are chargeable, and diners are reminded to request for smaller portions if necessary. The country has largely eliminated use of plastic cups, cutlery and bags. At shopping malls, people bring recyclable bags or buy paper bags; at drink stalls, people bring their own bottles and tumblers. Visitors to Poafmersia are also expected to abide by these environmentally-friendly guidelines, and there are reminder announcements played at major ports of entry.

Stadium locations in Poafmersia
Image
Poafmersia is split into 10 main states. For this competition, 20 stadiums across all 10 states will be used in various stages of the competition.

Bikasta
(Overall map of Bikasta)
Located at the north-west of the country, Bikasta is the second smallest state in the country, after Dalaris. The state is home to the second busiest port in Poafmersia, after Georgetown, located in Jottim. Jottim, however, will not host any matches in this tournament. This state will have 1 stadium, namely Stadia Cochin in Cochin.

Stadia Cochin, Cochin (capacity 49,000)
(Stadium Image)
Located in Cochin, the second largest city in the state, Stadia Cochin is home to Cochin FC, a mid-tier club who has been moving between the Apex and the Supreme League. The stadium is one of the few stadiums in the country with an artificial turf (the other being Dreamers Park).
Matches:
Stage 1 MD1 - New Lusitania vs Sixty-ninE X; Juvencus vs Galimencia
Stage 1 MD2 - Felinetopia vs Franco-Canadian Michigan; Dari Sultanate vs The H Corporation
Stage 1 MD3 - Almuzahara vs Miena San Hosana
Stage 2 - Second listed Group A matches

Ramadau Trish
(Overall map of Ramadau Trish)
Located at the west of the country, Ramadau Trish is considered to be the agricultural centre of the country. Many of the residents in the state are farmers, working for a number of local agriculture farms. For people interested in taking a tour of animal farms, this is the go-to state, as many of these farms also provide experiential tours to showcase the entire farming process.

Theatre of Light, Kistina (capacity 59,000)
(Stadium Image)
Home of Kistina Galaxy, one of the big clubs in the Apex, the 59,000 seater stadium is one of the best in the country. A retractable roof is just one of the many technological advancements in the stadium. The stadium could be converted for use by track and field events in just under 8 hours, and it comes with automatic temperature adjustors that can change the internal temperature in under 30 minutes.
Matches:
Stage 1 MD1 - New Lusitania vs Sixty-ninE X; Juvencus vs Galimencia
Stage 1 MD2 - Felinetopia vs Franco-Canadian Michigan; Dari Sultanate vs The H Corporation
Stage 1 MD3 - Almuzahara vs Miena San Hosana
Stage 2 - Second listed Group B matches
Stage 3 Ro16 - C1 vs F2
1 QF fixture

Hitimatias
(Overall map of Hitimatias)
A relatively underdeveloped state in the southwest of the country, Hitimatias is a state that is rapidly developing to be one of the country's technology hubs. There aren't many developments and big cities just yet, but Jacquilton, the capital of the state, is being rapidly expanded. The upcoming Yanderian Startup Hub, located in a 30 minutes ride from the company, will feature Poafmersia's 2nd technology-based university, Yanderian Technological College, as well as host various tech startups in the country.

Red Mudra Lane, Mudra (capacity 58,000)
(Stadium Image)
Mudra isn't the capital of Hitimatias, but it is the largest city by population size in the country. The home club, Sochra Mudra FC, is a club that often straggle between the top 2 divisions, but the club remains popular in a state which typically does not have many top football clubs.
Matches:
Stage 1 MD2 - Drawkland vs Sannyamathland
Stage 1 MD3 - Kohnhead vs Tandeg Suci; Malandrin vs Squornshelan Remnant States
Stage 2 - First listed Group B matches
Stage 3 Ro16 - D1 vs E2

Forche
(Overall map of Forche)
Forche is home to an aerospace hub, known to many as the Planar Aerospace Park. Though parts of the Park straddle the Forche-Tikahs border, it is considered to be the main economic zone of Forche. The Planar Park Airport, while not considered a major airport in Poafmersia, is where the aircraft often comes for main repairs, as it contains lots of hangars for the main local airlines - Phoenix Airlines, and Air Poafmersia.

Stadiun of Legends, Didari (capacity 34,000)
(Stadium Image)
Forche is also one of the smaller states in terms of the football scene. The stadium hosts Didari City, yet another one of those clubs who are at the top of the Supreme League, and occasionally slip into the Apex.
Matches:
Stage 1 MD3 - Quintessence of Dust vs Reçueçn
Stage 2 - First listed Group A matches
Stage 3 Ro16 - B1 vs G2

Dalaris
(Overall map of Dalaris)
Dalaris may be the smallest state per land size, but it is one of the most well developed states in the country, and is a main driver of Poafmersian economy. Georgetown, located on the Dalaris island, used to be a commercial port, but operations have largely moved across the bridge to Bigsorth. Georgetown is a heritage site, as recognised by the MASC, and there are lots of heritage buildings which represents an important part of Poafmersian history. For visitors interested in heritage tours, a visit to Dalaris is something which should not be missed.

Dalaris State Stadium, City of Dalaris (capacity 46,500)
(Stadium Image)
The main stadium in Dalaris, it is home to Dalaris City, one of the biggest clubs in Poafmersia. 10 years ago, it would be absolutely unbelivable that Dalaris City was going to be one of the finest clubs in Poafmersia. But the club's rise has largely been due to their investments in a bigger stadium, better training facilities, and integrating younger players into their squad. In fact, 3 consecutive years of domination at the top is what prompted many clubs to change their strategies towards football, and changed the face of the then PFFA Premier League, now the Apex. Dalaris State Stadium will be one of the main stadiums in the hosting of the IAC.
Matches:
Stage 1 MD2 - Tandeg Suci vs Federative Republic of Brasilia
Stage 1 MD3 - Sajnur vs Sixty-ninE X
Stage 1 MD4 - Felinetopia vs Miena San Hosana; Minardinia vs Sixty-ninE X
Stage 2 - Group C MD1 (1v4); MD3 (3v1)
1 QF fixture

Sporting Dalaris Stadium, City of Dalaris (capacity 37,120)
(Stadium Image)
This used to be the main stadium in Dalaris, sharing between Dalaris City and Dalaris Sports FC. Both used to be semi-professional clubs, aiming to dominate the Dalaris State League, a very small football league in Poafmersia. As their bigger city rivals moved out, Dalaris Sports FC took complete ownership of the stadium. The rivalry between both clubs is often seen as a battle of thoughts. Dalaris Sports FC advocates the haggling of the ball, aggressive gameplay, as well as defence-first tactics. Dalaris City, prefers a more balanced approach, utilising posession to build momentum and create fast flowing attacks.
Matches:
Stage 1 MD2 - Tandeg Suci vs Federative Republic of Brasilia
Stage 1 MD3 - Sajnur vs Sixty-ninE X
Stage 1 MD4 - Felinetopia vs Miena San Hosana; Minardinia vs Sixty-ninE X
Stage 2 - Group C MD1 (2v3); MD2 (1v2)
Stage 3 Ro16 - H1 vs A2

Agureo Stadium, Agureo Township (capacity 47,000)
(Stadium Image)
Agureo Township is a small town on the outskirts of Dalaris state. The stadium is home to Forte Agureo FC, a mid-tier club who moves between the Apex and the Supreme League.
Matches:
Stage 1 MD1 - Trolleborg vs Dari Sultanate; Kriegiersien vs Franco-Canadian Michigan
Stage 1 MD2 - Space vs Srednjaci; Republic of Indian States vs Adab
Stage 1 MD3 - Juvencus vs Minardinia; Franco-Canadian Michigan vs TJUN-ia
Stage 2 - Group C MD2 (4v3); MD3 (2v4)

Piskn
(Overall map of Piskn)
Piskn is the other tourism hub, considered the big brother of Dalaris. Piskn has lots of tourist hotspots, like beaches, museums. Trimidau Island is not the usual resort island, but there are lots of fascinating beaches that makes it the big brother of Dalaris. Fast crafts betwen Trimidau and Dalaris happen close to every hourly. There is also the underwater rail between Kingsford, the biggest city on mainland Piskn by population, and Rukiya, the capital of the Trimidau Island. Kingsford and Trimidau Island will have 3 stadiums for the duration of this tournament.

Naksa Stadium, Naksa, Trimidau Island (capacity 41,000)
(Stadium Image)
Trimidau Naksa is the smaller club on the island. Naksa, is the more culturally vibrant side of Trimidau, being on the eastern most point of the island. Facing the East Poafmersian Sea, the beaches are the cleanest on the country, and a grand total of 6 beach resorts exist on the outskirts of the city. Many tourists come to Naksa to enjoy water activities, including Snuba Diving, and Water Surfing.
Matches:
Stage 1 MD1 - Poafmersia vs Miena San Hosana; Indusse vs Montaña Verde
Stage 1 MD2 - Roless vs Kencana
Stage 1 MD4 - Adab vs Malandrin; Federative Republic of Brasilia vs Kencana
Stage 3 Ro16 - F1 vs C2
1 QF fixture

Rukiya Sports Stadium, Trimidau Island (capacity 37,000)
(Stadium Image)
Rukiya is the more developed part of the island, and is home to some clean factories that accounts for a huge part of the island's economic contributions. However, Rukiya is a must-go for its hawker culture, which is the setting up of food stalls by the road side. The intermingling of tall buildings, together with the kampung-like hawker culture, is what makes Rukiya absolutely interesting. Rukiya Sports Stadium, part of the Rukiya Sports Hub, is the home stadium of Trimidau Rukiya.
Matches:
Stage 1 MD2 - Squornshelan Remnant States vs Sajnur
Stage 1 MD3 - Srednjaci vs Lewhoten; Federative Republic of Brasilia vs Space
Stage 1 MD4 - Quintessence of Dust vs Roless; A Mushroom Kingdom vs Dari Sultanate
Stage 2 - First listed Group H matches
1 SF fixture

Offsdi Stadium, Kingsford (capacity 55,500)
(Stadium Image)
Kingsford is a relatively big town, home to many hotels and museums. The Poafmersian Fishery Museum, dedicated to the fishermen in the country; the East Poafmersian Sea Museum, dedicated to the ancestors who believed to have came through the East Poafmersian Sea; and the Poafmersian Natural History Museum, dedicated to the flora and fauna in the Poafmer landmass.
Matches:

Of course, with Poafmersia no longer home to mines after the last mine was closed, the football club has evolved to what it is today. Fun fact: "Dury" comes from the word "mondury", meaning miners in Pomish. The town, one of the last surviving towns of the mining era, was named Dury, and the local football club took the name of the city. The stadium is named after Matty Horis, the owner who transformed the club to its professional status, and took money out of his personal pocket to build the first stadium for Dury FC when after they first played in the Champions Cup. Matty Horis remains as an Emeritus Director on the club's board.

About the Manager

Shane Newman is a Baker Park born, who took the chance to become the first NT boss for Havynwilde with an understanding that he would have time & resources to build from scratch. He was hounded by negative media coverage, the unrealisitc expectations of supporters & the governing body, and no investment to correct the dearth of talent in the domestic league. He was unceremoniously fired while out of the country on holiday. He'll consider his time there a learning experience. Was the chief defensive architect for the BPNT in the first three WC cycles.Aged 49 and married with three children--a boy and two girls--he will look to the domestic league for talent by focusing on technique, pace, and positional flexibility.

The Playing XI

#1 Steve Leghorn (Goalkeeper)
Steve Leghorn, that name when spoken in Indusse creates a legendary vibe. If anyone asks an Indussean who's your favourite goalkeeper, they would say without wasting a second that it's none other than Steve. Steve is well known due to his performance and his charitable trust. He's a well known figure in the nation who could be a political mastermind. He started his career in Trau de Mongers FC, a local football club in Southbay which soon died after his transfer. His quality performance in the club got him a direct ticket to Southbay Riveria FC B team and soon into the main team. He played for three seasons for Southbay and won the Golden Gloves award in all the seasons. His omnipresent performance got him into the national camp and get him into the best Goalkeeper the nation has ever seen. After this transfer from Southbay to Dhalopura FC, he's been winning all the Golden Gloves in the participated seasons without giving others a chance to snatch them. He's the real saviour of Indusse, saving the nation from the cannon ball like opponent goal shots.

#6 Sampath Singh Aksinwala (Defender)
The Aksinwalas are a well known wrestling clan in Sindvpore. They are those people out there who smash everyone down who stands against them. Sampath Singh Aksinwala could have followed his family customs and traditions and become a wrestling champion smashing all down like a rock. Well, he had started his sporting career as a wrestler back in his 13s but he slowly got interested in soccer and with his fit physique he was a perfect fit for a defender. At his early years, he always got red cards in his matches since he used to throw his opponents away thinking that he is wrestling. The Local Clubs still gave him chance to play and he slowly changed his wrestling in soccer into total defender football. He started to be known all over Sindvpore and he got another call from Sindvpore FC. He still plays for Sindvpore FC and played a major role in their Liga Prima Victory and FFI Cup Victory. He is now the vice captain of Sindvpore FC and is a really important member of the Indussean National Team.

#13 Mathias Paulson (Defender)
Mathias Paulson born to a wealthy Syrian Christian family in Southbay. He wasn't a soccer maniac or something, who would have started playing for clubs before teenage. He started playing at the age of fifteen for several local clubs including his school and college clubs. After this Sport Medicine graduation from Saint Louis Holiness College in Jawaruyah, he got a mail from the Jawaruyah XI FC for being a defence and fitness co trainer. With his outmost hardwork in the game, he soon won a lot of awards and got a call from Rockies International FC for being their defender. He soon left Jawaruyah for Rockies Islands, it was his perfect defending which let the club rise from Division to to Primary Division tournament Liga Prime. The Team reached top three of the primary division tournament after his arrival and he also received a lot of awards for his play. With his arrival in Liga Prime and as a successor to former Rockies Defender Maryland Bruno (Maryland is his nickname because he used to run a cookie brand called Maryland Food), he got into the radar of National team selectors. He later got the call of the selectors to join the national team camp which was the turnover in his career. He soon became a well known defender in the nation and the captain of Rockies International FC.

#4 Aaron McMuller (defender)
Aaron McMuller, born as Aaron Davis Miller is a thirty two year old defender who earned fame during the early transition period. He started playing for Malta FC at the age of Eighteen since his father was the owner of the club. Eventhough it's an unconstitutional admission to the club, he later got to be the key player of the team. His direct ticket to the club without any obstacles made his way to the national camp easy. His defensive analysis gameplay got famed through out Malta and it's neighborhood provinces of Sindvpore and Cheralam. With the fame rising and clubs waiting to get him to their home, the national team selectors caught on him and added him into the national team squad list. Everything was quick for him, the transition from a club player into a professional footballer. The transition from a rich kid into a really rich earning star. The transition from slow paced defense into quick defense and counter strikes... Everything. He is also known as the only defender in Indusse who has scored 100 goals in their domestic history.

#9 Alexis Budtedjson (Mid Fielder)
Alexis Budtedjson, that's the name of the all in all of pass gameplay. Budtedjson has been a major part of the team in every international match played. He has been scoring goals, defending goals and making ways for goals. A complete footballer they say, he's having the chance to be the next captain of Indusse if he doesn't retire. Alexis was born as a neighbor to Baskar Kumar and has been his childhood friend. Both of them started to chase their dreams together and it was Alexis who got into professional football first. Alexis started his professional career with New Hind City FC B team. His perfect play, in the B team got him into Dhalopura FC. His best career club ever, Dhalopura FC got him into fame and later Gav him the ticket to National Team. He scored his first international goal in his debut match and he says that it's his favourite memory. He later got transferred into Sindvpore FC and has been playing for the team. During the colonial era in Indusse, he started working for the national police force (NPF) and he got promoted into the assistant commissioner of Hind City. His wife, Samantha Budtedjson is a well known tennis player of Indusse. She's currently playing in the NSTT for Indusse.

#14 Djetson Hazle (Mid Fielder)
Born as Djetson Hazlett to Dr. Henry Hazlett and Maria Henry in Sindvpore, Djetson change his surname at the age of sixteen to Hazle for joining film industry since there was a prominent star "Philip Hazlett" existing. He couldn't do much in the film industry, which changed his route into football. He played for the national U-18 team due to his absolutely commendable performance for his club Sindvpore FC. His performance also brought him into the national team and got himself as.a key player. He still plays for Sindvpore FC and took part in the Championship of FFI. He is married to Katherine Hazlett, daughter of film star Philip Hazlett. Katherine is also a prominent film star in Indusse. Hazle also took part in futsal and also tried a hand in hockey. But he later realised that he was made for professional soccer.

#10 Baskar H Kumar (Forward)
The best footballer Indusse has seen, that's what Baskar Kumar is. "If Baskar isn't there then, indusse wouldn't play well anytime soon" says Joseph Moteudi.Baskar Kumar was born to District Magistrate Hariharan Kumar and Adv. Maya Devi in Hind City. He started his soccer experience at an age of twelve playing for his school team. He later graduated for Political Studies and played for the university team. His quality performance for the University got him selected for Hind City FC B team and later to Hind City FC. His performance got him a ticket to the national team and he is still one of the oldest players in the national team. He is the current captain of New Hind City FC and Indussean National Team. He is currently the only player in Indusse scoring five hundred goals and the highest goal scorer in Indussean history. At the time of colonial opression, he took part in the independence movement and became the first and current president (term two) of Indusse. He played a major role in changing indusse from "Demoarchal Kingdom" to "Al shayarid empire" to "Holy Patriarchal Union and Republic". He was invested with Bharatratna award given out by India for the best politician.

#7 Bechun Butea (Forward)
Once the best substitute to Baskar Kumar, now he faces a lot of competition from his fellow mates out there.Born to the family of footballers, Bechun didn't face any difficulty to choose his career. At the age of seven, his father admitted him to a local coaching center and with the basic skills got him into the Sindvpore Football Federation Training Center. Bechun's father was Takawilaka Butea, who got elected as the President of Sindvpore Football Federation. Bechun played his first professional match for Sindvpore FC and got transferred into Southbay Riveria FC. He later scored a lot of Goals opening his way to the national camp. He played as a captain substitute and vice captain of the national team and captain of Southbay Riveria FC until Baskar Kumar joined. He also played a major role in the Goblin Humanoid Project which created Goblin Grundjee, who's the first non human national player in Indusse. A football goblin was Bechun's idea. He also got the National Sports Academy Mentor post and is currently the cheif mentor of U-18 national team. His brother, Lalguvasara is the coach of Malta FC and his son Jackson Butea is playing for Sindvpore FC under 18 team.

#11 Antonio Mersiás (Forward)
The second youngest recruit in the camp, Antonio Mersiás is a well known youth idol in the nation. He was the captain of Indussean youth team in the Sporting World Cup. He led the team into the semi finals of the tournament till they lost to Starblaydia's young guns. He was born in Karadawadi, a county in Dhalopura to Francis Antony, who was a carpenter and Selina Francis. He lived as a poor kid going to the village school who wasn't so good at academics but bright in sports. His quality sporting skills caught the eyes of the headmaster there, who admitted him to the local football training sessions. The headmaster soon send him to the Jawal-Biesse the nearest city for his studies. He played for the Jawal-Biesse FC for three years and captained the team until he was called to play for the Dhalopura FC. He got selected to the U-18 team as soon as he played his first match for Dhalopura FC. His quality play in the club also got him promoted as the captain of the youth team. His awesome, historical performance for the youth team got him a quick ticket to the National Team Camp. He is currently an important part of the national team who cannot be replaced easily.

#100 Goblin Grundjee (Forward)
Goblin Grundjee who is the first ever non-human sportsperson from Indusse. The Grundjee's are one of the families of the Goblin species that was created by the scientists by DNA Modelling. The scientists created a new race of Goblins through gene editing and combining the DNAs of Humans with certain animals and Algae. The goblin species were divided into three families were Grundjees are one of the major part. The other two families are called Mithys and Auris. The current members of the grundjee family is Colonel Grundjee who is a Colonel in the royal army of Indusse. The gene of colonel Grundjee was created by merging the genes of three colonels of the army with the genes of a eagle and the green algae. The green algae plays a necessary role in getting the green Color of the skin. The other member is Goblin Grundjee who is currently playing for the juniors. His gene was created by merging the genes of David Bekem, a former football and of a wild horse. The green algae is also a necessary part of the composition. The grundjee family has the green composition of skins due to green algae. Whereas, Mithys has a brownish red skin due to the presence of Blue-green Algae with Iron sediments, Auris family has the skin Color of a normal human as there isn't any presence of algae. The skin textures and patterns of the goblins are same as the humans and the color is the only thing that can discriminate it with humans. The scientific community believe that the goblin race will create revolution in the world of science. The creation of Goblin Grundjee was overseen by fellow player Bechun Butea who also played a major role in bringing Grundjee as a experimental player. Well, Grundjee is currently one of the best strikers the nation has seen.

Note: In the Adabian timeline, the Independents Cup takes place around June-July 2034. Age is as of June 1, 2034.

The Adabian National Football Team

Love’s got the world in motion and I know what we can do
Love’s got the world in motion and I can’t believe it’s true

-New Order, “World in Motion”

BACKGROUND
Although Adab did not make it out of the World Cup 88 qualifying stages to the tournament proper, their performance did win them admirers at home and abroad. Coming unranked into their first World Cup cycle in fourteen years, the team managed a respectable fifth-place finish in Group 4, drawing and beating higher-ranked teams such as Geektopia, Mytanija, Eastfield Lodge, and the Grearish Union. This earned them an invitation to the Cup of Harmony, and although they crashed rather quickly out of the latter tournament, it is now clear to everyone that the Adabians are back and they do not intend to go away anytime soon, and certainly not for another fourteen years. This sentiment is reinforced by the fact that Adab manager Saad Kaykali, one of the country’s greatest football legends, had finally agreed to sign a one-year contract, a far more enduring commitment than his previous one-match contracts.

With the Imperial Palace unwilling to allocate more funds to the Adab Football Association and the AFA still in the process of preparing youth talent, the Adabians will once again have to go onto the pitch without any substitutions. On paper this is a great risk, since even a single injury can effectively bring the team’s run in the competition to an end, but the Adabians have gained a reputation as tough, unyielding players; indeed, no Adabian players have ever been injured throughout the history of the national team. AFA President Naram-Sin Araqasdah claims to have received divine assurance in his dream that none of his players would be injured; the media laughed it off but Araqasdah still insists that he is serious. In any case, Adab enter into the latest Independents Cup edition brimming with confidence, believing that they can do even better than in the previous edition.

A slightly bigger concern about the lack of substitutes is that this means there will be no one to replace the squad’s aging veterans. Enlilbani Yargab, widely regarded as the greatest Adabian to ever play the game, is now 35. He has slowed a little compared to his prime, but nevertheless is still very much capable to lead the team’s offense and insists that he will continue playing for as long as he is able to, and in the words of one journalist, “He does seem to be able to go on for another five to ten years, maybe even more than that”. In any case, he is backed by attacking midfielders/wingers Jushur al-Kufa and Rebekah Yissakar. The 22-year-old Yissakar, in particular, is widely touted as “the new Yargab” and the one to take his mantle as the team’s offensive leader once he retires. Kaykali’s 4-3-2-1 setup originally envisioned al-Kufa and Yissakar primarily in an assisting position as playmakers, feeding the ball to Yargab for the goal (though Yargab himself is also notable as a playmaker, both with club and country). Yet al-Kufa and Yissakar have come into their own as potent goalscorers themselves. Both Kaykali and Yargab quickly recognized this, and the manager is now increasingly allowing al-Kufa and Yissakar more flexibility and freedom to lead the offense and score themselves, with Yargab dropping back when necessary to become a false 9 and provide a link between them and the midfielders.

At midfield, the young and photogenic power duo of Alulim Sinmuballit and Emma Arthur, possessed of capabilities far beyond their years, have become a highly valuable asset for the team, establishing themselves as a formidable wall against onrushing attackers and fully justifying the “prodigy” tag that has been attributed to them. Their presence is welcomed by the 35-year-old Ephraim Orlev, who is still capable of holding out on his own but knows that he needs all the help he can get at midfield. Sinmuballit and Arthur have largely avoided commenting on rumors that they are even closer off the pitch than they are on it.

Once the baby of the squad, Taymour Frangieh is now 33 and has matured into his position as leader of the defenders as well as mentor to the squad’s “new guard” along with Yargab. He states that everything is well between him and the leader of the entire squad, the captain and goalkeeper Mohammed Marramzi, despite the long-ago drama of his short-lived interreligious relationship with Marramzi’s sister. Marramzi, for his part, insists that he is on friendly terms with Frangieh. Often called simply “The Captain” by his teammates, the 35-year-old continues to command the respect and reverence of the entire squad, but acknowledges that the demands of being a goalkeeper is beginning to take its toll on his body and has appealed to the AFA to provide substitutes.

KIT
Image

The national team's kits, designed by Ahmad Enlil (the first President of the Football Association) in 1907, are currently manufactured by Shining Sun Company, owned by Rahman Ashurbanipal, businessman and grandson of Emperor Tizqar III.

STAFF
Manager: Saad KAYKALI - Male – born January 20, 1974 (age 60)
Manager Kaykali had to be coaxed to take a leave from his real estate company to once again manage the national team. However he does seem to be enjoying his return very much and has signed a new one-year contract.

Assistant manager: Inimabakesh THULUS- Male – born March 28, 1967 (age 67)
A friend of Kaykali from their playing days at Baghdad City, Inimabakesh Thulus gladly returned once again to assist his friend in managing the team. The two grew distant and barely communicated during the thirteen-year hiatus, but their second spell in the national team has gradually brought them closer once again.

Assistant manager: Rashid ABBAS - Male – born February 15, 1987 (age 47)
Formerly a star player in the island country of Faraby, now an associated state of Adab, Abbas is determined to do all he can to help the team and prove that he has earned his position by merit, and not merely as a gesture of appeasement from the AFA to its Farabian counterpart.

General coach: Yitzhak BENNETT - Male – born September 20, 1976 (age 57)
Variously described as quiet, active, calm, and attentive, Bennett is very much respected by the players, who admire his work ethic, loyalty to the national team, and willingness to listen to them.

Goalkeeping coach: Faishal AR-RASHID - Male – born August 14, 1978 (age 55)
Regarded, much like Bennett, as a stabilizing influence in the national team, ar-Rashid is particularly close – thanks to his job - to goalkeeper Mohammed Marramzi and is understood to be one of the latter’s few confidants.

Physio: Hamza RIDHA - Male – born January 15, 1983 (age 51)
A longtime friend of both Kaykali and Thulus. Widely respected by fellow staff and players for the understated way by which he performs his job.

STARTING LINEUP
GK: 1 – Mohammed MARRAMZI - Male – born March 15, 1999 (age 35) - Baghdad City - 1 goal (Captain)
The Captain, as he is often called by the other players in the national team, insists that he is still at his best and able to command the team. He continues to enjoy the full confidence of manager Kaykali and fellow members of the squad.

LB: 2 – Tansu ALTUN - Female – born February 25, 2009 (age 25) - Mosul - 0 goals
Fondly called the "heart of the squad" by her teammates. Kind, polite, smiling, beautiful inside and out, she gets along easily with all the staff and players. Yet her soft exterior hides a hard, relentless, unyielding side to her, which shines through every time she is called to perform on the pitch.

CB: 3 – Shania ENMERKAR - Female – born January 20, 2008 (age 26) - Baghdad City - 0 goals
Widely seen as one of the leaders of the “female wave” in Adabian football, observers nevertheless agree that Enmerkar has earned her place in the team by merit, rather than merely by virtue of her gender. The other female players in the squad look up to her as their leader and spokeswoman, and it is she who often goes to Kaykali to communicate the women’s concerns and opinions.

CB: 4 – Yousif ISSOU - Male – born September 27, 2004 (age 29) - Adab United - 0 goals
A reliable defender, what he lacks in star power he makes up for in tenacity, a seemingly endless energy reserve, and impressive performance on the pitch day in and day out.

RB: 5 – Taymour FRANGIEH - Male – born February 24, 2001 (age 33) - Adab United - 1 goal
The youngest of the remaining veterans from the World Cup 81 squad, Frangieh looks forward to mentoring the newer players and maintains good relations with them, but his relationship with captain Marramzi reportedly remains troubled as a result of his interreligious romance with Marramzi’s sister years ago.

LM: 6 – Emma ARTHUR - Female – born November 18, 2012 (age 21) - Adab United - 1 goal
A representative of the Anglo-Adabian community, the second-youngest member of the squad, and widely seen as a young prodigy on almost the same level as Sinmuballit. Also a stunning beauty who has been offered supermodel contracts, which has led to concerns that this will distract her too much from her job as a player, although Kaykali has dismissed those concerns.

CM: 7 – Alulim SINMUBALLIT - Male – born September 15, 2013 (age 20) - Adab United - 1 goal
The baby of the squad, and an undoubted prodigy of the game. Sinmuballit desires nothing more than to impress his teammates, and so far he has impressed them greatly.

RM: 8 – Ephraim ORLEV - Male – born April 18, 1999 (age 35) - Mosul - 7 goals
A veteran from World Cup 81, Orlev remains an integral part of the squad who can be relied upon to drive forward the team’s hallmark counterattacks. He was reportedly uncomfortable with what he perceived to be his status as the team’s token Jew, although this was assuaged by the arrival of Rebekah Yissakar.

LAM/LW: 9 – Jushur AL-KUFA - Male – born August 27, 2003 (age 30) - Damascus Steelers - 6 goals
A longtime star of the Adabian domestic leagues, the 30-year-old al-Kufa has finally secured his position as a mainstay of the national team. A consistently polite and unassuming man, he is respected by all of his teammates.

RAM/RW: 10 – Rebekah YISSAKAR - Female – born January 20, 2013 (age 21) - Adab United - 9 goals
Brash, funny, happy-go-lucky, all those words have been used to describe Rebekah Yissakar, but do not let her bubbly, excitable personality distract you from the fact that she is one of Adabian football’s rising talents, with a deadly finishing touch that secured her a place at the forefront of the national team. Widely tipped to be the “new Yargab” and his spiritual successor.

CF: 11 – Enlilbani YARGAB - Male – born April 21, 1999 (age 35) - Baghdad City - 55 goals (Vice Captain)
Widely regarded as the greatest Adabian player of all time, the backbone of the national team, Yargab is not as fast as he used to be, yet he remains as explosive a striker as ever and his abilities have otherwise barely diminished. His love for football burns strong still and he is happy to be able to mentor the younger members of the squad, although he is sometimes taken aback by their reverence for him.

STADIUM
Image

Adab City Stadium, the pride and joy of Adabian football, was completed in 1940. Located in the northern part of Adab City, the stadium was able to accommodate 40,000 people at the time of its opening. Renovations in 1978 made it an all-seater stadium and expanded its capacity to 55,350. Later it increased to 75,000 following upgrades in 2009-10 and then 76,500 after another upgrade in 2019. It is currently home to the Adabian national football team and Adab City FC.

TACTICS AND FORMATION
The team will use 4-3-2-1, the "Christmas tree" formation, with an emphasis on attacking play and taking advantage of their opponents' mistakes to launch a quick counterattack, marked by rapid passing from the back four - and, if deemed safe enough, long balls - through the midfield and to the front.

TACTICS

Starting Eleven

The Panthers are famed for their constant energy. Without possession, they aggressively press, closing out on poor passers and players in vulnerable positions - especially on the flanks - as soon as the ball is lost. When the ball is won back, they push forwards, emphasizing verticality, quick movement, and teamwork over individual flair. It's an attractive style of football, but it is also a bit naïve, as they tend to wear down late in games and are a bit sloppy in the back.

The key players in the system are Tariq Ben Labrat, not a big goalscorer but a dynamite presser with a deft touch, and Abu Mansur, whose endless stamina will make him the team's defensive anchor, especially late in matches. Playmaker Ali Al-Qushayri and incisive winger Ahmed Fernandez also stood out during the team's 7NC semifinal run, scoring seven and nine goals respectively, but neither is starting now due to age, meaning there will be massive pressure on Araz Fernandez and Abdellah Elias to take on the creative load. There isn't much of an emphasis on width, except that provided by the tireless fullbacks al-Hadda and Youssef (possibly the best player on the team), enabling Fernandez and Blanco to cut inside and make plays in the box. Most of Almuzahara's goals will come from one devastating long-ball right after regaining possession, followed by a series of deft interplays in the box to stymie the defense with rapid passing before a shot opens up.

Nation: Montaña Verde
Trigram: MVE
Adjective/demonym: Verdean
Team nickname: Condors

Coach: Serafín Andino Águila (41)
Assistant coach: Pigmalion Perales (39)

Taking over from Enriqueta is Andino Águila. He trades in Enriqueta’s nicotine-stained tracksuits for stiffly starched shirts and her bullish indifference to modern training methods with a holistic attitude incorporating updated approaches to nutrition and spiritual wellness. A former player who was a 5 star prospect at 22 and a 1 star has-been at 26, he drifted out of the game, found God, and reinvented himself as an enthusiastic coach in Calequén’s youth team. His permanent pearly white smile isn’t to everyone’s tastes but his results have been pretty effective since moving to the senior team. Perales, Enriqueta’s assistant, is a former striker whose career ended early through injury, and stays on in the assistant role.

Squad: 23 players have been named in the squad for the tournament, and it should generally be assumed 1 – 11 will start.
  • Men and women play together in Montaña Verde. To avoid pronoun confusion, female players are marked in pink.
  • The league is fairly new as a result of restructuring following independence, but many of the clubs date back decades and have entrenched traditions and rivalries.
  • Fútbol is a tremendously popular sport in the country, rivalling Catholicism for the national religion, but limited overseas exposure means the standard is not especially high.
  • Speaking of not being especially high, Montaña Verde is one of the shortest [human] populations in the world. While there are one or two tall players, in general men and women are very short.
  • Players are not egregiously dirty in terms of violence or deliberate fouling, but enjoy a good tactical dive now and then.
  • The bolded name or “nickname” should be used when referring to players and staff.
  • All players are domestic unless otherwise stated.

Goalkeepers:

1. Mateo Zayas Chavarría (28) – Scunthorpe de Puyevier
12. Héctor Sergio Dávalos (30) – Calequén
23. Rudolf Lazzaro “Dolfo” Mojica Parra (21) – Image Gunzlach

Mateo is an aggressive sweeper-keeper, being willing to play out from his area, having a rather inflated assessment of his own footballing ability. Dávalos is a more traditional stopper who’s been around the domestic circuit for years without standing out for better or worse. Dolfo is lankier than either but very raw. As tall goalkeepers are few and far between in Montaña Verde his ascent has been rapid, but sloppy errors have seen him lose his place. He had an outstanding domestic season in Græntfjall and is hoping to regain the #1 jersey.

Right backs:

2. Leonilda Balderas Castiglione (25) – Calequén
14. Roberta Márquez Saldana (26) – Francisco Teixidó

Full backs in Montaña Verde tend to be judged on their attacking credentials first and foremost. Neither Roberta nor Castiglione are outstanding defenders, both being converted midfielders, but play in offensive roles for the two leading clubs in the country. Roberta is a relentless attacker, driving forward to whip in crosses, while Castiglione, who has a strong left foot as well, can cut in field and spread the ball around. Most people think Castiglione is the better player of the two, but her party girl reputation off the field has done her no favors in comparison to the solemn Catholic Roberta who crosses herself after every goal or assist.

Left backs:

6. Justin Pedroza Sierra (26) – Image Austin City
16. Juan Diego Lucián Juderías (21) – Sonreté

Justin is one of the best players in the team. His strong left foot has him at left back, but he’s capable of playing anywhere on the field. A skilful dribbler with all the playground tricks, and standing quite a bit taller than his teammates, he seems to tower over everyone except Osito. What tends to let him down is his attitude. He gets into arguments with the opposition, his teammates, the referees, the fans. He’s the living embodiment of “If you get into an argument with someone, they’re an asshole; if you get into arguments with everyone, you’re the asshole”. Juderías is much more of an orthodox left-back, a good defensive prospect with a great work-rate but lacking any of Justin’s pace or flair.

Center backs:

3. Arquímedes Hernández Velásquez (24) – Image Kyethas Rivermen FC
4. Jairo Villegas Balderas (30) – Calequén
13. Alfredo Tafalla (23) – Acharaque
20. Efraim Mariano García (24) – Requista Boys

In terms of footballing ability, the central defender corps is fairly strong relative to the rest of the team, but the main problem is physical. None of them are especially tall. Former captain Edelberto makes way for Arquímedes, who has good distribution skills and can bring the ball out well, while Jairo is a superb timer of tackles and can reliably clear the ball out – if it’s on the ground. If both of them are stacked end on end they’re almost as tall as one average international center forward. Tafalla and Efraim are good, busy workers but quite raw.

Holding midfielders:

5. Ana-Ximena Pareja Carvallo (25) – Image Concord Heights Suburban – Captain
15. Edgar Nieves Liñares (29) – Requista Boys
18. Cristobal Elizondo “Cristo” Díaz (22) – Francisco Teixidó

Neither Ana-Ximena and Edgar are true defensive midfielders, instead more suited to playing more advanced roles, supporting a dynamic midfield set-up. Ana-Ximena isn’t as skilful on the ball as Edgar but has a higher work rate, impressing with her pressing, tackling, and physicality, and winning the start ‘5’ shirt once worn by former coach Enriqueta herself. Tactical shifts could see Edgar getting playing time alongside her anyway, as he’s a better passer. Cristo Díaz is a hard working presser who’ll run himself box-to-box offloading short passes and putting in the physical touch needed.

Central midfielders:

8. Kristjana Eiríksdóttir (26) – Image Knetyohai
11. Valery Nazaret “Valentinha” Garrido García (23) – Image Northandryun Rovers
21. Emma Narváez (25) – Francisco Teixidó

Don’t worry, not getting any puppet strings tangled here: Kristjana is 100% Verdean except for her name, reflecting her background in the tiny minority Græntfjaller population. She plays alongside Valentinha in the center, but they have different roles: she’s more of a speedster and uses her flying pace to whip out to the wings, while Valentinha will tend to drift into more of a central role, distributing and bringing the ball forward to open up rapid attacks. Valentinha is the moe physical of the two, and a complex wannabe intellectual off the field to boot. Emma isn’t as methodical in her passing as Kristjana but has great speed too.

Attacking midfielders:

10. Thomás “Primitivo” Ceballos Cantú (22) – Image Urrheddiao
17. Julia Pastora Rodríguez Varela (27) – América de Santa Margarita de Yacuija

There’s nothing “primitive” about the play of the young midfield general, who this window left Scunthorpe for Urrheddiao. He’s being asked to play a little higher than he would for his club here, but the skilful Primitivo has earned it. Bigger than most of his teammates, his strong physicality can be deceptive as he has a silky touch off both feet. And watch out for his wicked curling strikes if there’s a free-kick in the vicinity of goal. Julia Varela is another very promising player. Small with great speed and balance, she can zig-zag in and out of defenses, but doesn’t put in the hard yards tracking back.

Forwards:

7. Teodosio “Osito” Orellana Cerda (21) – Olimpia La Limana
9. Thiago Rivas Montilla (32) – Image Fliserboding – Vice-captain
19. Naomí Berrocal Encarnación (24) – Image Concord Heights Suburban
22. Verónica Ximena González Saelices (24) – Francisco Teixidó

The young Osito is a huge target man. It’s still not entirely clear he’s not two regular sized Verdeans wearing a trenchcoat. He’s mainly a goal-scorer, not all that good at assisting and rarely tracking back, but an obvious target for crosses and through balls. Thiago Montilla is a more rounded player without a really sharp finishing touch. He floats just behind Osito and just ahead of Primitivo to set up the attacks; he’s very short but powerful and stocky. Naomí Berrocal is a dynamic wing player who can run, pass, and shoot; Verónica Ximena is a fairly versatile 9/10 hybrid who can do a bit of everything without excelling in anything.

VOLINOVIAN STARTING 11 CONFIRMED!

Volinovian Sports Newswire June 14.

Volinovians from all over the nation have been waiting to see who Coach Hughes will put in for our starting 11 in the IAC. In a press conference earlier Coach Hughes answered all of our questions by getting assuring the people that we would be sending the best 11 players we had to offer from the Volinovian Premier League.

“Our national team will of course hold its usual members. There is no need to replace what is not broken. But it’s been fun watching the speculation on the web and around the horn for who I would be putting in goal. And the Striker I would be bringing in to replace Waylon Southers. I assure everyone that we have scoured and talked to just about everyone back in Paragould who have been watching each team of our Premier League like a hawk, and I have chosen the best players to represent us.”

Goal Keeper - Howie Bellerose (Violet FC)
Left Wing Back - Thomas Schmidt (Rialto City SC)
Right Wing Back - Neo Ramirez (Violet FC)
Center Back - Koehler Rhinehart - (Real Montaña United)
Center Back - Kirby Warren - (Paradise AFC)
Midfielder - Brian Taylor (Paragould FC)
Midfielder - Trey Zavala (Paragould FC)
Midfielder - Salvio Knopp (Ouchila Real)
Striker - Ozzy Moreno (Panorama FC)
Left Forward - Audie Martinez (Panorama FC)
Right Forward - Rodney Cabral (Saline FC)

Many people are still questioning Coach’s decision to bring Rodney Cabral in to the Right Forward position after his less then stellar performance in the 2020 season of the Volinovian Premier League. But Coach Hughes is confident in the team having this to say.

“The team is strong, and the teamwork of these players is unlike anything I’ve seen before. Bellerose in goal is a brick wall, and our attacking core of Moreno, Martinez, and Cabral should be able to work our magic in moving the ball to where we need it, when we need it there.”

Time will be the only thing to help us tell whether his decision was correct or not. Volinovia will be running the standard 4-3-3.

Some of the usual starting lineup and several reserve players will be at the GreenCup in Arklanda for most of the tournament, so the squad will look a bit thin.

Code: Select all
My opponent, if they RP first, may do the following:
Choose my goalscorers: Y
Godmod scoring events: Y
RP injuries to my players: N, I don't have enough players right now.
Godmod injuries to my players: N
Hand out yellow cards to my players: Y (no more than 2 per match)
Hand out red cards to my players: Y, but only if I have no other suspended players and only for 1 match
Godmod other events: Telegram me, and I will decide what is acceptable.

Trigramme: GAB

Garbelery National Football Team:

Manager:
Lutri Ottodottir was formerly the manager of the Garbelia Under-21 team. Under her relaxed management, they achieved a surprising run to the Quarter Finals of the Di Bradini cup. Upon appointment as first team manager, she promptly promoted several of her youth players into the squad and lineup and achieved an impressive 6th place in Garbelia's WCQ group. She sets the team up as 4-3-3, with two fullbacks, wide centre-mids and wide forwards and a -3 style modifier.

The Team: (Lineup subject to change, I will try and release an RP with the exact one, otherwise assume this)

Ottery Otterface - 32 - GK - 6ft 7in
Having won the Garbelian title 4 times, with Norvis FC, Otterface is an excellent keeper. He is best at saving long shots and one-on-ones, but he is not good at defending crosses and scrambles. He is awful at goal kicks, so he always goes short to a defender, who can then hit a long pass up the pitch.

Vid Otterra - 23 - DL - 6ft 2in
Vid Otterra is a useful all-round fullback, who seized her place off Marge Findus in the WCQ 88 with a string of excellent performances.

James Lutrison - 22 - DC - 6ft 1in
James Lutrison, despite having never won a title, is regarded as the best defender in Garbelia, and plays well with Ottery Otterface, specialising in headers, both attacking and defending set pieces, and from open play. He is still young, however, and has a tendency to foul the striker if he is beaten.

Nutria Huron - 19 - DC - 6ft
Nutria Huron is an extremely aerial defender, focusing on headers rather than tackling.

Otto Otterata - DR - 21 - 6ft 4in
Otterata is cover for McCat, who is at the GreenCup.

Opspore Kawauso - 20 - MC - 6ft
Opspore Kawauso is a young player, who enjoyed her breakthrough in the Di Bradini Cup 21. Similar to Otto Otter, she is excellent at set pieces and long shots, but also has a lot of pace, preferring to play on the wing. She is very generous with passes, and has been known to assist other players when she could have scored herself.

Otto Otter - 18 - MC - 5ft 1in
Otto Otter is widely thought to be the best player in Garbelia. At only 18, he is famous for his free-kicks, which seem to be drawn towards top corner, and having scored a corner against the Garbelian champions of the time, Norvis FC. He is very quick, has an excellent tackle and can score goals for fun. His only weakness is that he is quite selfish and will often choose to make a dribble himself rather than passing to an open teammate.

Lonivan Blisset - 19 - MC - 5ft 8in
Lutrini is almost the opposite of Otto Otter. A slow, young player, he rarely scores or provides an assist, but is excellent at protecting the back line, and can send short passes out to any other player.

Steve Ottoman - 30 - 6ft 9in - CF
Steve Ottoman is a talisman for Garvenord Rovers and has provided over half their goals since he joined them. He is not very good at long shots, but has an incredible header and almost never misses a cross, if it reaches him.

Arthur Goodotter - 20 - FR - 5ft 5in
Arthur Goodotter is a young striker who has a knack for being in the right place, and smashing penalties or mid-range shots home. He is still learning, so hardly even attempts headers. For a finisher, he is very good at regaining the ball off the back line of defenders.

Ote Vydra - 20 - FL - 6ft 1in
Ote Vydra is a similar player to Arthur Goodotter, but is more physical and will take on defenders.

Penalties: Goodotter, if not available, Ottoman, O. Vydra, Kawauso, Ottoerson.
Free Kicks: Otter, Kawauso, Avianuin
Corners: Otter, Kawauso, Avianuin

Subs:
Miaow Otterinein ~ GK ~ 37
Ludtro Muto ~ 24 ~ DC
Marge Findus ~ 25 ~ DL
Famke Van Bokhoven ~ ML/MR/AMR/AML ~ 22
Janna Watanabe ~ MR ~ 23
Ottery Ottoerson ~ AMC/CF ~ 25

Coach Kenneth Morgan sits silently on the plane back to Eshialand City, wondering about the past, the future, and everything in between.

Between the Cup of Harmony ending far too soon against one of the most unlikely opponents, the Jenna Raven Cup being a total and utter collapse, and this latest friendly loss to Zeta Reka and Hügeltaldom, it looked like every single soccer team that could call themselves the Owls couldn't help but fail right before the finish line, right before the perfect moment.

They had been up 2-1 at halftime, with everything looking like the good times would continue, but alas, nothing is meant to be when a nation whose name starts with "E" and ends with "shialand" is involved. That's just how the cookie crumbles when your team is basically the bargain bin knock-off of a decent team.

Karsten Rhodes went as far as to say live on ENN Sports' broadcast of the match that the golden age of Eshian soccer was dead, and that the dark ages had begun. Was he even wrong though? Was this team's time up?

"Coach?"

Faith Krupp, the newest addition to the national team, snapped him out of his downward spiral just in time. "Oh, hello Faith. What is it?"
"I was just hoping that I'd get some time on the pitch soon, that's all. Didn't I do a great job in the Jenna Raven Cup?"

While she was right that she did do a great job in that tournament, she was stuck playing behind Jake Harran, one of the most consistent forwards the nation had ever seen, at least if you ignore his domestic team's terrible history. How was he gonna tell her that she probably wouldn't be playing?

"Relax, Faith," Alice told her as she got up and walked towards the coach's seat, "he's worried that you're playing behind Jake. Don't worry, I started out behind him too, and look where I am now!"

The two laughed for a second and returned to their respective seats, leaving Coach Morgan to his own thoughts again. This plane couldn't land soon enough...

Zeta Reka and Hügeltaldom - 3 (Jad 28'; Schwarzhammer 59'; Kolarowić 74')
Eshialand - 2 (Harran 16'; Carey 42')

Preparing to be full-time No.1, Lopes is a promising goalkeeper who could live up to expectation

Luís Manuel shows himself to be a promising young keeper with plenty to give, despite having a weakness in his footwork. It is likely to look to see him play in at least one or two games this cycle

TROLLEBORG NATIONAL TEAM

Nickname: Trolls

Total games in IAC +8=4–6

NATIONAL TEAM

Image

COACH

Morten Troghil being manager of the team since its creation. Last international season was awful, with team make early exits in every tournament, but nevertheless people of Trolleborg entrust coach position to Morten.

PLAYERS

Morten Troghil not know for drastic measures when we talk about national team squad, and, altought he add some new players recently, veterans from BoF is mainstay of the lineup.

GOALKEEPERS

Tomas Kot Kotsson (32). Flexible and agile, quick-thinking, he recently made a quick progress – probably due to the hard work at the recent FA training camp for goalkeepers. Altought previously he was justifiable castigated for a big numbers of goals conceded, and there was doubts if he continue as number one, in the last tournaments he improved his game significantly, and conceded less goals than every other goalkeeper in the recent WCQ – but his talents is not enough to save team from the defeats in every major tournament last year.
Jesper Krogh (25). Player who already prove himself on a league level, fast and good at the second floor, without losing something in his first floor game skills, making some incredible saves in our league. At the MC he taste big game first time and having rather positive reviews, his only game in India Cup doesn’t prove obviously that he is fully ready for international football, in the WCQ he played twice and earn some strips.
Finnsnes Soderhelm (29). “Confidence come with experience”, – often said coaches, and it’s close to what happened to this goalkeeper. Having spent full first half of career mostly as backup in the first league teams, he move one floor down and soon return to the spotlight as a reliable and competent goalkeeper. With a lot of experience behing him, he is great in handling things in his domain, always cool-headed even in the most difficult situations, while giving sense of security to his teammates.

DEFENDERS

Jesper Loonstrup(25). He is flank defender in the preferred Trolleborg style – fast moving, adept in supporting attacking moves, willingly throw himself in the way of the ball, aggressive in tackling while responsible and disciplined player.
Aien Troger (29). He is strongly build central defender and extremely good in tackling. It’s very challenging to move into the box past him. Being (probably) in his prime years, he was a pillar of defence, but it will be seen whom coach paired him in the centre.
Joran Du Riis(28). Cold-blooded fighter prove that he more than capable holding his own at the highest level. Agile and fast-moving, but solidly builded and used this for his advantage, he prefers play either to the right of center or on the right side, as team needed. As recently put out foremost football pundit of Trolleborg, “He goes in hard but fairly”.
William Schendel (26). Agile fast moving defender known for his skillful positioning and man-marking, highly effective in breaking opposition attacks, great in the heading, with incredible high crosses-interception rate.
Kasper Wolters (29). One of the team brightest stars, he is right back by default, but he is very strong, very fast, have a very good shot and even better crossing skill. Having all this, he very often make a lighting runs to the opposition box and sometime substitute right midfielder.
Torgeir Dushegub (31). Known as a Column, this tall and strong player usually dominates a box both in the air and at the grass, it’s rare to see him make a mistake at the back. Being always calm and confidence, he projected aura of them around. As years counted, he compensated lack of speed by the improvement in area of tackling.
Winden Norgaard (24). This fast left defender recently prove in the Trolleborg League that he has everything needed for playing at that level. He stands out for his tenacity and fitness, often move forward to support attacks, but willingly return to his duties when needed.
Karsten Lindeblad (23). Robust right defender, fast and strong, with good position sense, he prove himself in the Trolleborg league as worthy opponent even for the best forwards, fighting for every ball and never give up. But it will be seen, if he can take a steps up in his career.

MIDFIELDERS

Rolf Valgren (32). Quick-thinking, with a perfect understanding of game, seeing everyone and everything in the field, and with brilliant passing skills, this man can bring ball everywhere he wants. He definitely add something from international experience, and his wealth of experience personified through by his calmness on the ball. Speed right now is not his best quality due to the age, but he directed the play from his spot in the center of the pitch.
Torstein Halst (22). Right winger\forward, with a good passing, master of highly accurate long crosses and very well making in curved shots from outside the box. Willingness to fight for every ball, spare no effort, and, most importantly, improve his skills is what give this very young player a chance to play for national team.
Finn Finnsnes (32). Playing usually attacking midfielder, free forward or link man between midfielders and attackers, he is swift, smart, good dribbler with a great sense of goal possibilities. Having all this, he didn’t make solo runs without need, and has a habit to review every option before doing something, so opponents never know beforehand what he did next second.
Morten Troll (27). He is a brightest star amongst midfielders in the whole country. Genius of game, with a wonderful dribbling, beautiful technique, excellent pass and extremely good shot, he won many games for his local team single-handedly, but also a great team player with great repertoire of tricks. Highly probably, he will be a player of generation, and very probably, best player Trolleborg ever had. He brilliantly justified all the positive reviews even when team performance was rather uninspiring.
Kenneth Pathmoor (26). This versatile and clever midfielder, who can cover a lot of space and conjure goal opportunity for his forwards from nothing, use speed to unbalance rival defenders, his pace, agility and an eye for goal give him a spot in the lineup.
Kasper Windass (24). Broad and strong left midfielder, he looked a little bit sluggish when moving without ball, but everything changes when he have it. Then he moved extremely fast, sweeping away everything in its path due to his mighty build and usually ended move with a clever pass.
Jesper Lucius (24). With a perfect sense of game, this central midfielder usually can move ball to where it want with only one touch, and he is good with a set-pieces. Some say, he was like a Morten Troll in his younger years, and most probably backup for him right now.
Ruud Kolding (30). Left midfielder, he, despite his age, covering lot of ground with his unbeliveable stamina, fight for every single ball, can press forwards or go back as team need.
Jesper Gronholm (25). Recent addition to the team, he was comfortable down the right flank as either defender or midfielder. Competenly hold his own while in defence, he was willingly join any move forward, where he pass ball quickly and thoughtfully. Intelligent player, he read game well, and he is effective marksman from the long range.

FORWARDS

Stuart Kerr (32). Quick, brave, skillful, moved fast despite age, love to puzzle defenders and having ability shot from everywhere in the box right despite defenders best efforts. Brilliantly confirmed his reputation as a prolific scorer at home, he was definitely keystone of team that winning BoF, winning a prize for the topgoalscorer of BoF and continue to add goals in almost every tournament.
Tom Gulbranden (30). Build like a very tall stone wall, he easily can tramp defenders if he wish to do so. He don’t need such a things, though. Altought never shies physical contacts with defenders and having often put opponents under pressure, he can move past defenders with surprising speed, it’s difficult to knock ball out of his possession, and his powerful leaping give him many advantages. Yes, it is looked impossible, that a man of such a stature can bring himself in the air at all, but nevertheless he is – strongly jumping and struck the ball by the head with deadly precision, scoring many of the most beautiful goals of the team.
Torgeir Berglund (25). Constant battler, fast player with good dribbling skills and goal-scoring instincts, effective center forward in front of goals, he looked very menacing when having a chance to prove himself and already prove his goal-scoring talents.
Torfinn Jivoglot (23). Albeit very young, he is already established player in the Trolleborg league with a very decent play-to-goal rate. Very fast, reading game perfectly, with a strong goal flair, showed excellent vision and the coolness under pressure, he will probably have a bright future.

TEAM TACTICS AND GAME STYLE

Team practiced attractive attacking game on a fast pace, and already its style well-known and liked by public. Usually played 4-4-2 with defenders pressed forward whatever possible, or 3-5-2 with a midfielders move back and forth as things dictated. Integral and inalienable part of the team’s game will be mighty pressing, applied whatever on the field when ball is not on our side.

National psyche tell players to put everything even if odds are heavily against, so almost every match in the league played with high determination, and national team shirt oblige one who wore it for even more efforts – altought it was visible, that players often lose breath when unexpected setbacks occur. Unsportsmanlike behavior is highly discouraged even if in the interests of the cause, and national team players are required to meet the highest standards possible, so it is completely impossible to imagine a player of the Trolleborg national team faking injury or begging for a penalty. But players are not easily bullied, though, and more than able to stand up for themselves both as individuals and as a team, and have a strong inclination to go tit-for-tat in case of excessive brutality on the opponent’s part.

Style -5.
No, there was no confusion, team played attacking football on the field, while having negative style modifier for a scorinating purposes.

My opponent, if they RP first, may do the following:
Choose my goalscorers: Yes
Godmod scoring events: No
RP injuries to my players: Yes, but I reserve right to estimate injury severeness
Godmod injuries to my players: No
Hand out yellow cards to my players: Yes
Hand out red cards to my players: Yes only for a last ditch fouls or two yellows, any other variants must be discussed with me
Godmod other events: No, but if you have something interesting in mind, let me know and we try to find a middle ground.

INDEPENDENT ASSOCIATIONS CHAMPIONSHIP 13

NEW ERA FOR SREDNJACIAN FOOTBALL
by
IVAN BOŽIĆ

Srednjaci are still waiting for their first victory in this prestigious competition. IAC-12 was the first official international football competition for the Srednjacian national team. It was not an overly successful start. Our national team failed to register a single win. Of the five matches played, Srednjaci lost three matches and in two matches were played in a draw. The goal difference was devastating, 4:15!
But a lot of time has passed since then. Srednjacian football natinol teams have since competed in several competitions, the BoF, CoH, Jenna Raven Cup and WC88 qualifiers. The best placement was at the women’s soccer championship, Jenna Raven Cup in Sarzonia, Srednjaci won bronze. However, another big competition for the Srednjaci is very successful and that is the IBA Champions League. In the qualifications for the Champions League, five clubs from Srednjaci played. Two went to the Champions League ( NK Dinamo Katanija & Čelik Raduč) and NK Dinamo Katanija is in knock out phase of tournament, round of 16.

When we take all the appearances of our national football team then we come to the following figures:

Played: 38

Win: 18

Draw: 3

Lose: 17

GF: 66

GA: 71

GD: - 5

GK Jure Iveša - 26 y - NK Čelik Raduč
Jure Iveša was born in the town of Raduč ( 195 cm, 89 kg). Raduč is a town known for its steel mine and steel production. But it is also known for the automotive industry, the production of railway compositions as well as aircraft parts. At the age of 6, Iveša joined the football club Automobili Raduč. At the age of 10 he switched to athletics, high jump, but at the age of 11 he returned to football but to another club. He enrolled in the football club Čelik Raduč, where he has remained until now. He was named the best goalkeeper in the league.

LB Danijela Majić - 23 y - NK Bistua Nuova
Danijela Majić, 185 cm and 70 kg, was born in Bistua Nuova. She comes from a sports family. Hers mother was a handball player, today she is a coach and hers father was a football player and today he coaches a football club in which Danijela , NK Bistua Nuova, is also. Bistua Nuova won the DR Srednjaci championship in the women's competition and currently has no relevant opponent in the league. Danijela is adorned with great technique and speed, she often takes corners but also uses hers speed to penetrate to the attack.

CB Ivan Kušić - 26 y - NK Dinamo Katanija
Ivan Kušić ,186 cm and 75 kg, was born in the small town of Plava Laguna near Melarit. He made his first football steps in NK Plava Laguna. In high school he moved to Melarit to study. There he started playing for the home club, Mladost Melarit. With his games as an 18-year-old, he attracted the attention of major clubs and signed a contract with Dinamo Katanija. He won the championship and the cup with that club. Great pillar of the club's defense, with an overview of the game. He is strong in duels, fast, but his technique is also great.

CB Franko Rušković - 27 y - NK Mladost Melarit - Captain
Franko Rušković, 188 cm and 78 kg, an insurmountable pillar of defense. A very intelligent player with incredible agility and endurance. Strong and corpulent, they won duels in 92% of cases. He started playing football at the age of 10, before football he tried volleyball and tennis. He stayed in football and led his club NK Mladost Melarit to the second position in the league, but also to winning the cup. He was named the best football player in the league for last season, but also the best defensive player in the league.

RB Zoran Šutić - 25 y - NK Archer Kula
Zoran Šutić, 183 cm and 70 kg, he was born in the town of Kula. Despite his club fighting not to drop out of the league, Zoran is one of the bright spots of the drowning club. Zoran was brilliant in his position and Archery Kula will probably be left without its best player. There is talk of negotiations with Torpedo Melarit, a team that entered the first league from the second league.

CDM Heong Min Ho - 25 y- NK Dinamo Katanija
An amazing player, fast and always in the right place. The accuracy in the passes is amazing and the technique is amazing. He was born in Katanija and started playing football at the age of six. From the beginning, he was Dinamo Catania and with that club he is the champion of DR Srednjaci. He is 178 cm tall and weighs 68 kg.

LW Davida Zimmer - 24 y - NK Bistua Nuova
Davida Zimmer , 176 cm and 66 kg, a fast football player who creates problems on the left wing. A great football player who is an unsolvable enigma in the league. She was named the best football player in that position and she deserved an invitation to the national team with great statistics. 22 goals in the season, 18 assists and an accuracy of 87%. The speed in the sprint is amazing, 80 meters ran in 10.24 seconds. It has an excellent and precise shot from the edge of 16 meters and it is the most dangerous.

RW Takanobu Tavano - 23 y- NK Dinamo Katanija
The best player in that position and probably the best player in the league ever. The ceiling is 177 cm high and weighs 67 kilograms. Probably a fast player on the right wing is simply unstoppable. Because of his speed and technique, two players run into him in defense and sometimes three. This creates a surplus on the field and is very dangerous there. With one jerk he is able to add the ball with incredible precision. Its market price is dizzying. In the cup against Lokomotiva Raduč, a club from the second league, Tavano scored an incredible 6 goals. With Dinamo Katanija he is the league champion and he scored 18 goals and gave 33 assists.

CF Ante Tomljanović - 25 y - NK Čelik Raduč
Tomljanović is a unique player. He plays as an offensive midfielder, central foreward but can also play as a striker. A player who has almost everything. He is 182 cm tall, which is quite high for his position. But he is very agile, strong and technically great. He scored the most goals with his head from the corner, he can jump high and the defenders who should guard him are usually lower than him.

ST Isidor Matković - 24 y - NK Torpedo Melarit
Isidor Matković, 183 cm and 79 kg , the absolute star of the league. Torpedo Melarit entered the first from the second league and Matković is their best player, the club's top scorer, the top scorer of the second league and a player who has incredible skills. His sense of goal is the most pronounced of all the players in DR Srednjaci. Incredible shot, strong and technically refined. His turn and sprint are famous. It is difficult to keep him because he is constantly on the move and in addition to goals, he is often an assistant. He is the most talented player in the league and he will surely lead the battle with Tavan to be the best player in the league. Top scorer of national team on Baptism of Fire tournament.

ST Li Peng - 25 y - NK Mladost Melarit
Li Peng , 181 cm and 78 kg , the best striker of his club. He led Mladost Melarit to win the cup. In the final against Dinamo Katanija, he scored a hat trick and had one assist for the 4: 2 victory. Named the player of the match but also the top scorer for last season in the league with 41 goals.

Trigram: SRS
Captain: Iuri Takala
Vice Captain: Walda Harkhan
Manager: Anne-Sophie Groothuis Image
There have certainly been lean times during Groothuis's tenure with the Black-and-Reds. The present is bright though, as the Omerican achieved a first for both herself and the Confederacy in successfully qualifying for the World Cup 88 finals. This performance, and a respectable 1-1-1 record leading to a first-round exit, has seen the Black-and-Reds surge to their highest every ranking, 26th in the multiverse, and reckoned the eighth-best team in this cycle's IAC. While as recently as a cycle ago there were calls for the SCFA to show Groothuis the door, the notion of parting ways with her is now unthinkable to the vast majority of Confederates. Groothuis's tactics employ a moderately attacking, but flexible 4-2-3-1, with an emphasis on possession, and fluid, creative attacking movement.

13th Independent Associations Championship Roster

Goalkeepers:
# Player Age Pronouns Club
1 Hekima Drenel 29 She/Her Image Lublova Reds
13 Dagmund Zarek 33 He/Him Image Jaglan Royals
25 Paiva Shimski 22 She/Her Image Newrook City
With longtime starter Stovar Kriven now stepping away from the national team, the situation at goalkeeper is more unsettled for the Black-and-Reds than perhaps it has ever been. Which of the three candidates will start likely depends on who impresses Groothuis the most in training leading up to the tournament's beginning. Drenel is an all-rounder, and the odds on favorite to play, while Zarek has less imagination with his distribution, but is a dependable shot-stopper. Shimski has the smallest body of work, but has the athleticism of youth, and a booming kick to launch instant counters from a quick goal kick.

Left Backs:
# Player Age Pronouns Club
3 Valda Harkhan 27 She/Her Image South Laithland
15 Jaylene Kazarov 29 She/Her Image Belgrave
Harkhan and Kazarov are a study in contrasts. Where Harkhan is hard, strong, physical, Kazarov is long, lithe, precise. Kazarov is more of a wingback, while Harkhan stays back a bit more.

Right Backs:
# Player Age Pronouns Club
2 Taisiya Achthoven 27 She/Her Image Yassaca
14 Jirar Malgos 26 He/Him Image Galatica
Achthoven's play with Yassaca has established her as the clear first choice out right, as a complete player that can do everything the position needs. Malgos has slowly closed the gap though, and is likewise a well-rounded player, with good timing at both ends of the field.

Center Backs:
# Player Age Pronouns Club
4 Walda Harkhan 27 She/Her Image Yassaca
5 Ljuba Bucvarov 24 She/Her Image René Skaé
16 Jozica Szimon 22 She/Her Image Lublova Reds
19 Ayli Galdra 26 She/Her Image Porter City
At the top of the depth chart, the choice is easy. Harkhan has won Best Defender five of the past six SCFA seasons and helped lead Yassaca to back to back league titles and a Challengers Cup. Behind her though, it's a logjam. Bucvarov, after taking a couple seasons to adjust to life in Farfadillis, has emerged as a very good center back in a league packed with attacking talent. Szimon, an energetic tackler and dribbler, is coming off a tough season with Lublova, but is given a chance here to prove she has a place in the future of the national team. Galdra edges out the other contenders for the final spot by virtue of the vital role she's played in making Porter City perennial contenders in Kohnhead.

Central Midfielders:
# Player Age Pronouns Club
6 Isperia Marrish 26 She/Her Image AFC Corvistone
8 Mithya Hashemi 24 She/Her Image Anomalies
10 Iuri Takala 31 He/Him Image Megabrantid
22 Damnagoras 21 They/Them Image Asbury Park FC
30 Nurullah Arslan 25 She/Her Image Kirkenes
24 Selvala Tabur 27 She/Her Image Torpedo Pavlograd
Marrish and Hashemi may wear 6 and 8 respectively, but there's not a lot of difference in their play style. Either player can be the one to hang back, and both are excellent passers and distributors. Takala is the focus though, and is involved in every attack. He is also the primary free kick taker. Among the substitutes, Damnagoras is a dedicated attacker, finding his way to create dangerous chances with a preternatural sense for finding space. Tabur is a holding midfielder, but by no means an enforcer. She uses an impeccable sense of timing to intercept passes and take the ball off attackers while remaining on her feet most of the time. Arslan is a more well-rounded player, along the same lines as Marrish and Hashemi, just a little less consistent on the international stage as of yet.

Left Midfielders:
# Player Age Pronouns Club
11 Lavanya Naqvi 31 She/Her Image Mâ Âlâmëómë
21 Jzeovak Vladcik 32 He/Him Image Admiral Storevik
Naqvi and Vladcik, veterans of many international competitions, hold onto their spots for the time being, despite a talented cadre of young aspirants. Naqvi is as shifty as ever, and always adding to her technical bag of tricks, woe betide the overeager young fullback who loses their patience trying to take the ball off her. Vladcik has maybe lost just a bit of a step, and is more of an assist man than out and out goalscorer these days. We're pretty sure that he'll officially be the Black-and-Reds all-time leader in caps if the SCFA ever gets around to updating their statistics.

Right Midfielders:
# Player Age Pronouns Club
7 Ikra Yonte 25 She/Her Image Burnaby SC
18 Naiva Storrev 31 She/Her Image Club ESF
For the longest time, right midfield was a big question mark for the Black-and-Reds. Not anymore. Yonte has been an integral part of some very, very good Burnaby sides, and earned herself team of the season honors in Kelssek. Storrev, meanwhile has been a creative force for a good few cycles now, adept at slashing runs through the defense to put the pressure on.

Forwards:
# Player Age Pronouns Club
9 Lyzolda Petrov 30 She/Her Image Sabrefell Moths
17 Kaalia Gerstlauer 29 She/Her Image Chalesm
20 Oleg Kaidanov 24 He/Him Image Jaglan Royals
No surprises at all for the first and second strikers on the roster. A duo of dynamos, with Petrov still doing what she does best and putting the ball in the goal with regularity for Moths. Gerstlauer has had some For the third and final roster spot, Groothuis stirred up some small controversy. Instead of going for one of the consensus picks like Verhulst, Stienno, Nebojsic, or Nazahn, she's opted to bring in a younger player in Kaidanov, who has emerged as an excellent striker for Royals over the past couple seasons.

the jungle and the beast
june 8, 1517

Yahya turned back again, out of ammunition and increasingly panicked. Oumar had long since vanished. Saqat, fear nearly spilling from his eyes, had drunk the water from the gourd and followed him. Yet their party, once four and then two, had somehow become three: himself, Abdel Simon, and a mysterious third man. “Who the hell are you?” he shouted. The man, confused as he was, shouted something in reply, but Yahya couldn’t make heads or tails of his garbled Arabic. And with the natives closing in around them, the man had run out of time to explain himself.

“Stay back! Stay back!” the explorer shouted, waving his gun. But it was no use when he was so hopelessly outnumbered. He began to back away, moving towards the equally-surrounded Abdel Simon as they were pressed upon from all directions. “We didn’t steal the water! We’ll give it back!” Abdel pleaded, but it was no use. Yahya shut his eyes and prepared to meet a gruesome end.

Then there was a sound like a thunderbolt and a flash of white light, and Yahya and Abdel found themselves alone in the forest. There were no natives. There was no water of the Fountain of Youth, despite Saqat leaving behind a bag full of it when he left. And there was no third man.

Yahya and Abdel stared at each other, shocked. Abdel was the first to speak.

“We tell no one about this.” Yahya nodded, and with nowhere else to go, the two turned and left.

december 24, XXX459

On an ivory hill sits a crystalline tower. From the outside, it is transparent. Yet the walls inside are a blinding white, pulsing with the last dregs of winter sunlight.

The tower is divided into seven hundred and seventy-seven floors. The very top floor, the seven hundred and seventy-seventh, appears empty, but nobody is allowed in who could verify this. The floor below, the seven hundred and seventy-sixth, contains a large machine, a palladium-and-diamond monster of a thing topped with a curious glass prism, and its six handlers. They work in silence, checking, connecting, polishing, their life’s work never complete.

The glass doors swing open. A white-cloaked woman briskly steps inside. She shouts a command over the beeps and whirs of the leviathan, and one of the handlers duly punches a sequence into this machine. It glows an ethereal white for a second, then floods the room with lightning. When the energy dissipates, there is a man - swarthy, athletic, and incredibly confused - strapped into the middle of the machine. The handlers wordlessly extricate the man from the belly of the beast.

“What...how?” he says, eyes wide, falling to the floor in front of the woman.

“Welcome to the afterlife, Mahmoud. It’s nice to finally meet you.”

At the Felinetopian Commissioner's Chamber in Purrlin

Buzz was in the air. This was going to be the final session in the integration of Leopard Territory into the Felinetopian Union, the first time the Union will attempt to admit a member into the union. In the chamber were lynxes, small cats, cheetahs, and leopards mingling with each other and laughing. The three Ccommissioners, one for each member-nation, walked in and greeted various leaders such as the Feline Parliamentary President Gwen Kulisp, a long-hair tortoiseshell from the Small Cat Alliance, and Leopard Territory Prime Minister, Meowmad Mousef, a large Arabian Leopard whose at least twice the size of Gwen. After their greetings, the Commissioners walk over to their respective seats at the Commissioner's desks. The desk was shaped like an inappropriately big half-circle that faced the chamber as the Commissioners were located 5 meters apart. Clearly, the desk was made to fit Commissioners from every nation in the Feline World. As the Commissioners sat, the cats in the room started to move to their seats. Opposite to the Commissioner's desk was a rectangular table that seated three cats that faced the Commissioners. In front of the chairs sat three name tags: ones for Gwen Kulisp and Meowmad Mousef and one for the Integration Compliance Officer, Kwai Kemba. All three proceeded to sit at there assigned chairs at the table. Cheetah Commissioner Danai Sefu pressed the switch that rang a bell above the Commision President's seat. The chatter quieted. "Good evening everyone! Danai Sefu announced"We have convened in this chamber for an important and historic session as we'll hear the progress of Leopard Territory's membership application. We will hear first from Integration Compliance Officer about the status of Leopard Territory's integration of Felinetopian laws. Next we'll hear a report from Parliamentary President Gwen Kulsip about Leopard Territory's membership. Lastly, we will hear a report from Prime Minister Meowmad Mousef of Leopard Territory about the approval of membership into Felinetopia. Before we start hearing from Kwai Kemba, does Mr. Mousef like to make a statement?"

"I do," answered the Prime Minister.

"I will yield the floor to the Prime Minister"

"Thank you Commissioner President. First, we will like to make an amendment to our application as Resolution 241 was passed last week 471 ayes to 42 nays to change the country's name to the Leopard's Dominion. That name has been used colloquially across our nation and is the more commonly used than Leopard Territory. We believe that a nation's name should reflect how its people refer to it. Thus we propose an amendment to change references to Leopard Territory in the application to Leopard's Dominion." There was some murmuring in the crowd from the non-leopards.

"Well, if the other commissioners are fine with it, we will allow the amendment," said Sefu. She looked at the Small Cat Alliance Commissioner as he nods and then looked the other way at the Lynx Union Commissioner as he chirps in approval. "We accept the amendment as proposed. The Prime Minister may continue."

"Thank you." Mousef takes a deep breath. "Today, we are witnessing history as we attempt to integrate the Leopard's Dominion into the Union of Felinetopia. It's unfortunate that we did not join in the formation of Felinetopia as the people were not quite prepared. We've had many union-skeptics when there were murmurs about the reestablishment of Felinetopia. However, a pro-union government was swept into power half a year ago. We have proceeded to integrate Felinetopian regulations and laws into our laws and are preparing our bureaucracies for integration into Felinetopia should our application be accepted. We have struggled with Leopard Supremacists but with the Unions help, I believe that we can mitigate this problem together better than we can apart. Let's hope this begins a closer relationship with Felines across the world." Applause erupted around the chamber with some felines standing up. The applause died down after 10 seconds. "I'll yield the floor back to the commissioner President."

"Thank you for that wonderful statement Prime Minister. Let's proceed to the report from the Integration Compliance Officer whom I'll yield the floor to."

"Thank you Commissioner President." Said Kwai Kemba. He adjusted his glasses as he reads the report on Union Law Integration in Leopard's Dominion. As he read the report, some felines yawned and a Cheetah cub curled up and went to sleep. "In summary, the Leopard's Dominion has integrated the laws of the Union to the satisfaction of the integration requirement in Section 17.3.3 of the Treaty of Purrlin and proved to be a sufficient democracy in accordance to Section 17.3.2 of the Treaty of Purrlin." Kwai paused for a second to let any possible applause to occur. None occurred. "I will yield the floor back to floor the Commissioner President," Kwai said dejectedly.

"Thank you Kwai. Well, let's move on to the report from the Union Parliamentary President whom I'll yield the floor."

"Thank you Commissioner President. I'll keep this short and sweet," said Gwen Kulsip. A sigh of relief can be heard in the audience gallery behind her. "Resolution 720, Admittance of Leopard Territory into the Union was passed 160 to 101. Obviously this resolution was made prior to the amendment of the name however this should remain valid as the resolution is to approving the application which makes the name change a non-factor in our law. I'll now yield back the floor to the Commissioner President." The chamber starts to feel antsy as only the Prime Minister Report and the Commission Vote remains before the Union possibly gains a new member.

"Thank you President Kulsip. Now for the last item in the agenda before our vote is the Prime Minister Report on the Approval of Admittance. Therefore, I'll yield the floor to the Prime Minister once again."

"Thank you once again Commissioner President." said Prime Minister Mousef. "Our approval of admittance comes from a parliamentary vote on Resolution 200 with 270 Ayes and 243 Nays thus approving our ascension into the Union. I'll yield the floor back to the Commissioner President for the ultimate vote of ascension."

"Thank you Prime Minister. As all of our reports have confirmed that the Leopard Terr-- err Leopard's Dominion has met the requirements for ascension into the Union except for the final vote for Ascension by the Commission. Ascension requires unanimous consent amongst the Commission." Danai Sefu paused to take a deep breath. Everyone in the chamber was now on the edge of their seats. The Cheetah cub was awaken by their father to the displeasure of the cub. "So how will Commissioner Moondoggie Fowl vote?"

Moondoggie looks up as if he was thinking. "Aye," meowed Moondoggie.

"Alright, how does Commissioner Vlad Söderling vote?" said Danai Sefu. Vlad paused for an uncomfortable amount of time probably to create suspense.

"Aye!" Vlad meowed.

"And I vote Aye for Leopard's Dominion's ascension into the Union." A Leopard let out a short celebratory roar before being quieted by the gallery security. Meanwhile, some celebratory fireworks were faintly heard as they went off outside. "With no dissent from the Commission, the Leopard's Dominion shall become a full member into the Union of Felinetopia." The crowd erupted in celebration despite best efforts by gallery security to quiet them. Danai Sefu chuckled. "This concludes our session today and we will adjourn until Monday at 9."

Roulette of Life

HUElavia enters the Play-In Tournament as one of the favorites to win it all.

Almost four years ago, the HUElavian Football Association made the historic decision to hire a foreign manager for the first time in the team's history. The selected candidate was Leonardo Conavacio, a very passionate and historic football figure of the nation of Quebec and Shingoryeo -a nation that HUElavia has very friendly ties to- as the manager/head coach of the HUElavian National Football Team. His first two years was a resounding success, where the team came back from a 7-point deficit to make the World Cup 88 playoffs, in turn defeating fellow IAC participants Reçueçn in the playoffs on Away Goals to make the World Cup, before being eliminated in the Group Stage with 3 points. Despite the elimination, for a team that was entering a "rebuilding" phase, it was widely viewed by the press and public as a resounding success.

This past year, the return of the Women's World Cup came back, with Coach Conavacio being requested to manage the all-women's team for the historic tournament. Unfortunately, the team fell short in the Group Stage, finishing in 3rd Place with 5 Points after some upset defeats. Regardless, the tournament was used to give some experience to young female players around HUElavia, along with some of the more veteran ladies of the squad.

Now, the year of the Independent Association Championship has arrived, which is one the entire nation looks forward to every four years. There are plenty of notable changes going on for this edition. The first and most surprising one was reigning champion Tequillo (who defeated HUElavia in the Quarter-Finals at IAC 12) not registering for the tournament, leaving for the new sporting region, Anaia, thus meaning there will be a new champion for this edition by default. The second surprise for this tournament is that there is a play-in round where all 44 participating teams are playing, in order to decide the final 32-team tournament, which will be held in a nation HUElavia is familiar with: Poafmersia. The very nation that defeated Los Amarillos/Os Amarelos in consecutive Finals is hosting this tournament, which gives the fans some anxieties of the past.

HUElavia (5) is among the very favorites to win it all, but first must deal with four different nations to qualify. These nations are: Roless (UR), Kriegiersien (39), Kencana (81), and Srednjaci (43). The order of these nations mentioned will be the very order the team will face off against them. Not to mention, the final matchday involves teams playing against each other's Pot (Pot 1 against each other, Pot 2 against each other, etc.), but fortunately HUElavia was seeded against a Pot 2 team, being Srednjaci. HUElavia will be the home team against Roless and Kreigiersien, while being the away team against Kencana and Srednjaci. The game against Kreigiersien will be at Theatre of Light (59,000), Kistina, Ramadau Trish, while the three games against Roless, Kencana and Srednjaci will be at Dreamers Park (60,000), Fiskadaha City, Tikahs. Certainly enough, thousands of HUElavians will flock to Poafmersia to huddle and cheer from one of the endzones and drape the stands in yellow, blue and green, with their chants and many sounds.

The squad selected by Coach Conavacio is one of the most older squads HUElavia has ever seen, where many players are at least in their mid-20s. The most notable absences includes the likes of Ana Ramos and Natalia Duran, who retired from international duties after the Women's World Cup, and Woo-Jin Sol, who suffered an injury late in the club season. The surprising additions has been Larrangoz and Motocanchi at fullbacks, Alvarado in the midfield as a substitute, and the youngsters of Nascimento Jardim and Girault in attack. Regardless, the press and fans felt that there should have been more young players for the team, given HUElavia's success at youth level, but Coach Conavacio expressed his faith in these experienced players, as well as wanting to give some older players that have played solid at club level a chance to prove themselves on the international stage.

The first match will be against Roless, with the B-Team playing the match, with Bohdanovych in goal, and Torrisi as the Captain for the match. The Home Uniform will be worn by the players for this match. The fans and players feel optimistic about qualifying to the Final Tournament, but the team wants to give it their all to set the tone of the matches and take it one match at a time. Here's to what can be a fun and exciting IAC, as well as possibly a chance to reach that coveted title.

FORCA HUELAVIA! VAMOS HUELAVIA! GO HUELAVIA!

Chapter 23: The Lawyer

June 2034
Saad Kaykali’s house, Adab City

Saad Kaykali raised the phone to the tip of his ear. His legs were fully stretched, a blanket covering everything from feet to stomach, his head leaning back against the head of the bed. There was a dreadful feeling that came every time he realized he had spent the night watching too many videos on MyTube. The documentary video on Soviet general Andrey Vlasov’s defection to the Nazis in 1942? Great. Music videos of some of the biggest rock hits of the 1980s and 1990s? Great. Nothing wrong with a bit of nostalgia, and most of those songs had stood the test of time. A video of a door doing an impression of Miles Davis? Well that’s a sign you’d been spending too much time on MyTube and needed to get off pronto. (Nothing against Miles, he was one of the greatest musicians of the 20th century, and to be fair the door does do a good impression.)

But every 60-year-old who heads a growing real estate company and also manages his country’s national football team will need time to relax, and watching random videos on the Internet is far from the worst way to do it. It may even help to take your mind off the fact that your daughter is seeing some random guy that she just contacted for the first time yesterday (or was it two days ago?) on some online application. Again, nothing wrong with that, but for people from a previous generation like Saad, that may sound a bit strange at times. Well, just think of it as an online blind date. 21st-century blind date.

But Aida was a grown-up woman now. A 34-year-old successful lawyer in Baghdad. They hadn’t met for a while, but still kept in touch every day through phone calls. She could take care of herself. And though Saad would never admit it to himself, he had been trying to keep his distance from her. Her little girl was now a career woman, and certainly one who did not want to be known simply as the daughter of the manager of the Adab national football team.

This phone call would not be to Aida. They had talked a few hours earlier tonight. When the voice finally came from the other end of the line, it was that of Khalid Murad, Saad’s lawyer of more than twenty years.

“Saad, hello there!” he began, his voice infected with enthusiasm even late into the night. “It’s 1 a.m. now – you’re in Adab City now, right? – what are you doing at this late hour? Planning some new tactics for the national team?”

“I wish,” Saad sighed, then giggled. “Well, the Independents Cup is still a month away, so for now I’m just spending my late nights at home watching people blabber on on MyTube. Like every 60-year-old in this country.” His voice trailed off, because for a moment he forgot what he intended to say next. But the memory came back and, after a barely noticeable pause, he continued. “I suppose I should be the one asking you, why aren’t you asleep yet?”

“You know me, Mr. Kaykali,” Khalid replied quickly. “I’m doing what I love the most.” Even at age 88, and having just come out of heart surgery, the man still maintained his infamously long hours in the office. “A few really big cases we’re working on right now. I can’t tell you too much about them, but I think you’re going to see a few guys from my firm in the news within the next few days.”

Saad smiled and laughed in a somewhat suppressed voice. “And the money keeps rolling in.” He knew Khalid would counter with his inevitable But it’s not about money, it’s about justice, he had heard that one too many times, and this time he was quick to cut him off. “You know, uh, I probably shouldn’t have called just to ask this question, and I’ve read about this on the Net, but, uh, I just want to be sure, you know, I just want to hear it from an actual lawyer.”

“Oh, what is it about?” Khalid’s voice grew curious.

“Well, uh, civil marriages between people of different religions are legal in this country, right?”

“Yes, absolutely, since Emperor Tizqar’s decree in 2020. I mean, yes, I don’t see them happen that often, probably because of, well, religious and cultural sensitivities, but you can civilly marry any other citizen of this country regardless of their religion. I can point you to-“ At this point, the old lawyer suddenly stopped speaking. For a moment or two, nothing – not even a whisper or a trace of a sound – came over the line.

“Uh, are you alright, Khalid?”

“Yeah, I’m fine. Is… Is this about your play-“

“Nah, I’m just making sure, I mean… I’m just a bit curious about this topic. It does, uh, invite my curiosity.” Exasperation grew in Saad’s voice. Softly he shook his head and ran his fingers through both sides of his chin. Good God, stupid me, I really shouldn’t have brought this up with him.

Now it was Khalid’s turn to giggle. “Ah yes, of course it invites your curiosity. Hits pretty close to home, huh?”

“Well, no, not like that.”

“Well I have my religious belief and you have yours and I think they have theirs, but if they do decide to tie the knot, well there’s nothing we can do to prevent that but be warned that they might face social and religious opposition. I would advise-“

“Look, it’s not about them,” Saad said, enunciating his words more slowly to emphasize every single one of them. “L-look, thanks for your answer, I’ll keep that in mind,” he sighed, rolling his eyes up, moving quickly to change the topic. “You know, I just realized that we haven’t met for some time. Come over here some time, and bring Eliyahu with you. You know I can benefit from more tea and late-night discussions and all that.”

“I suppose that’s your way of saying you’re going to be in need of legal representation again soon, Mr. Kaykali,” Khalid said, barely disguising his snigger. “But sure! I’ll come over when I have some free time.”

Unified Felinetopian Pawball Team

It's been a while since a coed pawball team has competed under the name Felinetopia. The previous team to compete under the name Felinetopia finished 5th in their group in World Cup 76 Qualifying. Unfortunately, records of who played during the qualifier were not made and the cats who played in that tournament were long gone. Only recently with the establishment of the Union that teams from the Feline World have competed multiversally. Even then it does not include every specie of Feline in the Feline World. The Jenna Raven Cup only featured Cheetahs, Lynxes, and a variety of Small Cats. The Mollies were not successful in proceeding past the group stage as they earned 7 points in 6 matches during the tournament. However, with the recent ascension of Leopard's Dominion, there is hope that some time in the future that a full Feline pawball team will compete in a multiversal competition. This will be the first International Associations Cup that any Feline team has competed in. The recent successes of Velocity and Jamhuri Umoja in the Challenger Cup and Liga B Champions' Trophy could indicate upcoming success for this tournament.

Vengeance

Felis, Small Cat Alliance, Felinetopia

Karma's a b*tch. For one Glinda Monaghan, that fact couldn't be more apparent.

Perhaps I'm getting ahead of myself though. You may not know that name, and think that Ms. Monaghan is just another bitter fifty-something with nothing else special about her... but you'd be dead wrong about that. For you see, Glinda was the coach of Eshialand's team in the Jenna Raven Cup, at least for the first two matches... until the team abandoned her in Kampawla, in the Feline nation of the Cheetah Republic.

They abandoned her for a reason, of course. She didn't treat players as people, but rather as machines designed to do nothing but win for their team, her team. It's a mystery to this day how she even got appointed to coach that team, but at least she was out of their lives now, stuck in a faraway land.

Since then, she's carved out some sort of existence in the Felinetopian Union, with the Felis Rovers pawball team even appointing her as their manager! It's unknown why they'd want her, but perhaps all they saw was Eshialand going 5-1-0 in the group stage, and not seeing the whole story. Despite her life since the JRC being somewhat okay, deep down, she still bears the same hatred for Harriet, Sarah, Alice, and the team that just wouldn't listen.

She sat down in front of the TV and decided to see if anything was on. Coincidentally, SCTV was broadcasting Felinetopia's IAC Stage 1 schedule. The Squornshelan Remnant States, Franco-Canadian Michigan, ho hum... wait, who was that on MD3??

"As for MD3, Felinetopia will be facing Eshialand at the Mancodas Complex. After their women's teams' two matches in the Jenna Raven Cup, expect this to be an interesting matchup for sure!"

She pinched herself, just to make sure that she wasn't imagining what she was hearing. No, she wasn't. Felinetopia would be playing Eshialand! Perhaps if she could get tickets to that match, she'd finally be able to teach those "bratty little girls", as she called them, a lesson...

"Hello and welcome back to ENN Tournament Report, I'm your host Josh Seametzle!"
"And I'm your special guest co-host Karsten Rhodes!"
"And we're here to talk about the 13th Independent Associations Championship! Finally, some soccer that matters!"
"I mean, you think it matters, but I think it's just the appetizer before the delicious entrée that is World Cup 89!"
"All tournaments matter Karsten!"
"Whatever..."
"Anyway, let's talk about who Eshialand will face in this pre-group stage, and start to make our predictions!"
"Pre-group stage?"
"That's what it says right here! I don't quite understand it, but it's happening, so we'll just have to deal with it!"

Matchday 1: Eshialand vs. Malandrin

"So first, we have Malandrin."
"They shouldn't be much of a problem. I can't believe I'm saying this, but this should be an easy win for the Owls!"
"You think so Karsten? I thought you hate counting your chickens before they hatch!"
"But I have a bucket of chicken right here, so I'm counting it."

Matchday 2: Reçueçn vs. Eshialand

"Okay, so what about Matchday 2, against Reçueçn?"
"HAHAHAHAHA YOU HAVE TO BE JOKING!!!"
"Nope, it says right here, Reçueçn!"
"Well, that's an easy loss then."
"On the bright side, Reçueçn's the lowest-ranked team in pot 1!"
"Still doesn't change the fact that it's an easy loss."

Matchday 3: Eshialand vs. Felinetopia

"So now, we arrive at the second half of this stage, or as I call it, the 'Jenna Raven Memories Tour'."
"Not that Women's World Cup! That was a disaster and a half!"
"Don't worry, the Owls didn't get Saterun. They got everyone except Saterun!"
"I don't know how that's supposed to make me feel better about that Josh."
"Anyway, so Felinetopia on Matchday 3... maybe?"
"That one's a bit iffy with me... the Owls can f*ck it up so easily, I don't want to get my hopes up."
"Aaaand there's the Karsten I know! I think that if Eshialand can keep it together, they can pull this one off!"
"Maybe in your dreams, Joshtimistic."

Matchday 4: Eshialand vs. Kohnhead

"And lastly, Kohnhead!"
"...the second-best team in pot 2?"
"...the nation who our girls trounced 5-0 that one time!"
"But in co-ed competitions, our teams are always hot stinky garbage! Big nope from me."

"So in summary, what would you say is realistic?"
"3 points from Malandrin, two losses to Reçueçn and Kohnhead... I say it all comes down to Felinetopia."
"Yeah, since it's the top 32 out of 44, I think if we get a draw against anyone here on top of beating Malandrin, the Owls go to the group stage, but anything really can happen."
"Well, I guess we aren't going to the group stage then. See you in World Cup Qualifying!"
"Now now Karsten, don't be like that... but until next time, I've been Josh Seametzle, that ball of sunshine has been Karsten Rhodes, and this has been Tournament Report!"
Anything I say is IC unless proven otherwise by a court of law.

13th INDEPENDENT ASSOCIATION CHAMPIONSHIP

Waiting for the first win!

IVAN BOŽIĆ : Dear viewers, welcome to the show dedicated to INDEPENDENT ASSOCIATIONS CHAMPIONSHIP or IAC13 for short!
In the last competition, our national team did not record a single victory. But a lot of time has passed since then, but also several tournaments where our footballers have already grown into real football masters. The national team selector Hrvoje Vezmar is with us in the studio.
Let's look at our opponents and matches first.

MD1 : Srednjaci vs The H Corporation (76) @ Camp of Power
MD2: Space (11) vs Srednjaci @ Agureo Stadium
MD3 : Srednjaci vs Lewhoten (UR)@ Rukiya Sports Stadium
MD4 : Srednjaci vs HUElavia(5) @ Dreamers Park

As you can see, there are no easy opponents. Mr. Vezmar, first of all let me ask you what is the situation in the national team?

VEZMAR: Good evening to you and your viewers. The situation is great. There is a great atmosphere within the collective. The successes of the women’s soccer team at the Jenna Raven Cup and the clubs at the IBA Champions League have given us wings as well.

REPORTER: great results of the women's national team and Dinamo in deed. We see on players list that you did not invite all the players from Dinamo and Čelik. Why not ?

VEZMAR: Some players asked for an exemption due to fatigue and for some NK Dinamo asked for an exemption due to the match in the quarterfinals.

REPORTER: I guess Ante Marinović and Vjekoslav Talić?

VEZMAR: That's right. The invitations were handed out, but we decided to help Dinamo. I talk with the our professional staff. So we decided to accept Dinamo's request given the historic success in the Champions League.

REPORTER: Will the national team for the Olympic Games look different then?

VEZMAR: Definitely will. By the start of the Games, all major competitions will be over and then a short break and preparations for the Olympic tournament will begin.

REPORTER: You looked at all our opponents. The first game is against The H Corporation. What do you know about them?

VEZMAR: We know little about them. We inquired about their style of play and the way they played. They are a worse placed team than us. Quality is on our side, team and individual.

REPORTER: Team Space?

VEZMAR: An awkward team. They can beat anyone but also they can lose to anyone. Although they are ranked better than us, I think we should be better in this match as well. However,we shouldn't put three points in our pockets before the referee's last whistle.

REPORTER: We also have a debutant here, Lewhoten.

VEZMAR: with debutants it’s always tricky. You never know how they will play, what form they are in. Debutants are a complete enigma. We certainly have to be very careful.

REPORTER: perhaps the strongest opponent of all HUElavia.

VEZMAR: Oh, yes. HUElavia is the most consistent team of all. They are in the top 5! They play something more offensive than us. Definitely the toughest opponent. They play with three strikers, with number 11 Savedra, with number 7 Navarro and number 9 is Hamada. All three are very dangerous players. We are playing our fourth match against HUElavia.

REPORTER: Mr. Vezmar, thank you for the interview. We wish you a lot of success in the competition.

VEZMAR: Thank you.

REPORTER: Dear viewers, stay with our program, news transfer will follow.
