This is the one-stop-thread for all in-character communications between your Nation-State and the Pan-Asiatic States. On this thread, you can, among anything else in the form of in-character communications:

• Contact any character or entity from the Pan-Asiatic States for any reason whatsoever
• Ask questions regarding the Pan-Asiatic States, or its people
• Comment on, commend, or condemn the Pan-Asiatic States for our recent actions
• Offer subsidies to or place sanctions on the Pan-Asiatic States government
• Propose treaties between your Nation-State and the Pan-Asiatic States

If nothing else, you can simply use this thread to say hi and introduce your Nation-State to us to kick-off diplomatic relations.

When submitting communications please be sure to note to whom the message is addressed to, who the message is from, and through what medium is the message relayed (for example, an e-mail or a visit to the Secretary-General's palace). If one or more of these parameters is not fulfilled, I reserve the right to assume it for you.

Out-of-character communication, especially meta communication, is discouraged. That is better sent via Telegram.

Please keep things civil and realistic, be mindful of the Pan-Asiatic States' canon, and follow site rules.

About the Pan-Asiatic States

The Pan-Asiatic States (Tagalog: Estados Pan-Asyatiko, Chinese: Fàn Yàzhōu Guójiā), officially The People's Federation of Pan-Asiatic States, commonly known as the States or Pan-Asia; is, nominally, a supranational federation of multiple interdependent Soviet-style republics governed by a central body of representatives from every region of its territories - a Federal government - that mandates Federal laws, commands foreign relations, and adjudicates inter-state crimes.

As a one-party state, the People's Federation is governed by a single overarching political organization: the Asian Communist Party (ACP) with Neo-Manila as its capital city in its capital state, the Tagalog Soviet Socialist Republic (TSSR).

In accordance with the tenets of state-socialism and Pan-Asian revanchism, citizens are expected to surrender their personal interests, individual cultural identities, and liberties under the pretext of a pseudo-scientific system of preserving Asian values and morality, for the betterment of society and towards what the majority, through the state, considers the common good. A system of economic interdependence, which solidified itself overtime during the period of reconstruction following the Second World War, has become a fact of the Pan-Asiatic States' existence. Nationalism is frowned upon in favor of thinking beyond nationalism, that is, in its stead, the promotion of a Pan-Asian civilizational identity—and thus, the state habitually participates in the censorship of ideas that may prove to be potentially hazardous to the prevalent ideology as well as historical revisionism in order to erase potential hazards to the governing identity which could create divisions among the states of the Pan-Asiatic States. Insurrection to this system is scarce tolerated, and this has led to many factions scattered across the Pan-Asiatic States to participate in constant guerilla warfare against their local governments.

The Pan-Asiatic States is not only a political superpower, but an economic superpower as well, holding a significant 42%~ of the world's wealth in capital (2011). This wealth is distributed almost entirely equally, with a heavily progressive and graduated income tax. Private industry is illegal under the socialist regime, with state-owned businesses tightly regulated, maintained, and democratically managed by the government; however, the Pan-Asiatic States maintain a degree of inflow of foreign commodities through exclusionary economic zones and foreign-leased entrepots. Through an intricate system of publicly-owned corporations operating outside of the territories themselves and under the direct control of the Pan-Asiatic States government, the country also maintains a highly competitive economy in the world.

OOC Note:Crown Cooperative Farms
The Crown-Cooperative Farms were a part of reforms and measures by the British colonial government to address public poverty and hunger in Bengal after the Kawanese Peasants Revolution of 1865. Although initially exploitative in nature, since surplus of the production after the workers and the local population were given their share, was sent to Britain. It laid the foundation of an industrialised and social democratic Kawanese state.
These farms do not serve their original purpose in modern times, since chronic poverty has been eradicated in Bengal, allowing even the poorest of the population, either on the money they earned, or money given to them as Low-Income Benefits by the government, to purchase food at decent prices from the shops and stores who usually source from private farms or the Crown Cooperatives which sells their produce to them at market prices. These days, produce from these farms are used to feed public schools, or given away as aid to poorer countries, or stocked by the government during times of crisis. Employees are usually people doing their Mandatory Military Service, or students working through the summer and part-timers for decent pay. Automation and Mechanisation has allowed sizeable harvests to be made.
Although the Crown-Cooperatives maintain a sizeable amount of support among the people of Bengal. Foreign investors see it as an obstacle, with foreign governments frequently calling on Bengal to privatise the farms and industries that make up the Crown-Cooperatives.[/spoiler]

I would not want want to spoil the good relations between our two countries, but candidly I cannot say that I believe such an initiative would work in the long term. Capitalist countries tend to elect leaders that serve the interest of the capitalists. My advise? Continue to have the farms run collectively through unions that own them as registered cooperatives, and have the government buy the crops at fixed, negotiated prices. But of course, that's just my opinion—I do not pretend to know what is best for your country, that's only how I would govern mine were I in your position."

Since I already have an embassy in the Pan-Asian States, would you be interested to develop relations further? The most defined idea I have right now is some sort of talk show between your ambassador and an Amenrian host (I'll open my embassy thread soon). Of course, I may have other ideas that we can do down the line.

The Secretary-General has refused to comment on this issue at this time.

"The legitimacy of the BSSR is considered to be, by many, even within the higher echelons of the Asian Communist Party (ACP), one of the most vulnerable across the country and this is mainly due to the militarized nature of its political affairs. Many high-ranking officials still continue to wield a majority of representation in government, and force rotation is often limited or subverted by such officials (and continuously allowed by the Pan-Asiatic States' federal authorities as not to risk a civil war) to ensure that the local Burmese military cadre remains nominally in control of much of the country's institutions. The Pan-Asiatic States Armed Forces (PASAF) is often seen by citizens of this state as a force that merely implements the will of the Bamars, the country's largest ethnic group, rather than one that fulfills its peacekeeping role. The focus of the federal government in recent years has been to develop Burma's grassroots infrastructure as a means to reach-out to minority ethnoses—a policy that has had a widely varied, but ultimately lacking, effect due to the geopolitical, religious, and social challenges that Burma's administration faces on a daily basis. Nevertheless, the BSSR possesses much potential to develop further, as it is a country rich in jade and gems, oil, natural gas, and other mineral resources. It is also a testing ground for experimental renewable energy projects, and has seen a rapid increase in its usage of solar, hydro, and thermal sources of electricity since the foundation of the Pan-Asiatic States. Its biggest economic drawback is that due to the rampant civil strife ongoing on a daily basis as well as the commodity-centered nature of its primary exports, much of the aforementioned resources are being siphoned-away to a burgeoning black market (of which the BSSR is projected to possess the largest of in the Pan-Asiatic States) and the state is characterized by having the highest income inequality rate in the country."

Burning villages. Soldiers dressed in all-black patrolling the countryside, repressing minorities who dare to challenge Pan-Asian ideology. A constant battleground for ethnic groups. That is the scene that anyone who actually visits the so-called Burmese Soviet Socialist Republic (BSSR) would see on a daily basis—were there anyone who came to observe it, and lived. No Pan-Asiatic States politician, not even Muslims from the Federation of New Nusantara (FNN) would dare to speak in public about the repression of the Rohingyan people without wanting to prematurely wreck their career. There is nothing but silence when it comes to the fact that the Bamars are almost never rotated out of service of the Pan-Asiatic States Armed Forces, patrolling the Burmese countryside with great extrajudicial powers. Even when they are rotated to keep up the public image of a diverse, non-discriminating military that guards the peace in that often-neglected state they are often replaced by Tagalogs—who are even more vengeful and untowardly against the Muslim minority in Burma.

If in the United States, even Muslim congressional representatives like Ilhan Omar never speak ill of the atrocities being committed during the U.S. invasions of Muslim countries, the same can be said about the Muslim electorate and their representatives in the Pan-Asiatic States government and their attitude towards the repression of the Rohingyans.

Frankly, the Pan-Asiatic States couldn't care less. The Pan-Asiatic States' citizens don't even know the scale of the Rohingya-repressing apparatus. It's not just the Rohingyans either—they are but one of the many ethnic groups that are pre-emptively stopped from overthrowing the state-governments of the People's Federation. Deport them, take away their homes, kill them—the Pan-Asiatic States government cares little and those that elect its leaders into power are ignorant.

And that's one of the most frightening part about the Pan-Asiatic States government. Sometimes, it doesn't need to have an opinion. Sometimes, it not having one speaks louder.
