LIGHTWEIGHT LEVEL IIIA TACTICAL VEST "KIPCHAK"
OVERVIEW
With the beginnings of the Lauzanne Army's STRELETA PHASE 1 came the need for new body armour, seeing as the old LDF was using mostly 6B5 and purchased PASGT gear, the need to standardise arose using a single Lauzannean-made vest. Several companies threw their lot in, and although Mir Technologies' "Kipchak" vest did not win trials for either the standard infantry vest or the light infantry vest, the company simply offered it for export.
The front and rear of the vest is made from ballistic material to deliver an NIJ level IIIA protection, capable of resisting 9x19mm Parabellum and protecting the user from penetration by shrapnel. The vest has slots for two hard armour plates, one in front and one in back, as well as aramid inserts for the cummerbund to add additional side protection if desired.
For easy breathing when wearing the vest, 3d mesh is placed on the front and back plates to allow for better airflow and comfort when wearing the Kipchak.
Without any additional pouches, the magazine slots can take six STANAG or AK-74 magazines via a kangaroo pouch system. The front, sides and rear all use MOLLE webbing to be able to attach pouches tailored to the user's needs.
In addition, options are available for two types of plate to be shipped, or the customer can provide their own plates to be used on delivery.
