Jenna Raven Cup I/Women's World Cup 14 Everything Thread

Postby Sarzonia » Thu Jun 17, 2021 11:25 am

Welcome one, welcome all to the inaugural edition of the Jenna Raven Cup, also trading as the 14th edition of the Women's World Cup!

The Incorporated Football Federation is pleased to see 24 countries who have decided to send their teams to this competition and help write a new story in the annals of the sporting multiverse. With 24 nations, we will have a double-round robin competition consisting of six groups of four teams each.

Pursuant to the sign-up thread, the group stage will consist of matches played once per day until a one-day break to end the first half of qualifying. Following that, there will be a day off between the end of qualifying and the start of the knockout rounds. If there is to be a playoff match or playoff matches, those matches will take up the day off between the end of qualifying and the start of the knockout rounds. The top two teams from each group will qualify for the knockout rounds. The top four group winners will receive an automatic bye into the quarterfinals. The two group winners with the worst records and all runners up will compete in a Playoff Round match. The winners of the playoff round will take on the other teams in the quarterfinals.

Here's information about how the tournament will operate. If you have any OOC questions or concerns, please direct them here. Thanks!

Tiebreakers:

To decide group seeding
1. H2H results
2. Head-to-head goal differential
3. Total goal differential
4. Total goals scored
5. ICly: Coin flip; OOCly: RP bonus
6. Playoff match

To decide seedings in the knockout rounds
1. Total goal differential
2. Total goals scored
3. ICly: Coin flip; OOCly: RP bonus
4. Playoff match

Three (or more)-way ties:
1. Overall goal differential
2. Total goals scored
3. ICly: Coin flip; OOCly: RP bonus
4. Playoff match

Once a team is eliminated from the three-way (or more) tie, tiebreaking procedures switch to previously announced format.

I will scorinate all of my group stage matches, but will seek third-party scorination for any/all knockout round matches.

Scorination
I'll be using Vilita's mobile scorinator, which I've observed in other competitions I've run with it is generally friendly toward teams that RP consistently. As such, RP bonus will be non-degrading and generous. Home field advantage will not be applied after the group stages, but will be applied for group stage matches.

Scorination will take place at 8 p.m. EDT and the OP of this thread and the IC thread will include the details of this schedule once it's finalised.

If there are any changes to the schedule, I will update THIS thread, which will also serve as the OOC discussion thread for this tournament.

Forfeits/Withdrawals/CTEs
Once the tournament has begun, teams are not permitted to withdraw until the conclusion of their team's participation in the group stage, as per standard practice. If a player's country has ceased to exist during the group stage and qualifies for the knockout rounds, its spot will be taken up by the next team in the group. If a team ceases during the knockout rounds, the other team will qualify for the next round in the tournament.

The participating countries are as follows:
1. Sarzonia

3. Kohnhead

Woodstock Profile
Sarzonia's capital city features the Gray House, where current President Grant Haffner lives, The Manor, where Lieutenant President and former First Gentleman Brian Patrick lives, Parliament Hall where the Sarzonian Parliament convenes, and the John Paul Stevens Building, where Sarzonia's Supreme Judicial Court presides. Unlike many countries with bicameral legislatures including a Senate, Sarzonia's House of Delegates is actually the upper chambre. Delegates are elected for no more than three two-year terms; Senators may serve no more than two six-year terms; the President may serve no more than two six-year terms.

The city also includes various museums and the Max Yasgur Centre for the Performing Arts, which is a go-to concert venue in Sarzonia and has been since the country became independent. It features a subway system that's fast and efficient and runs 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Among the more popular areas of Woodstock are the Little Catherina district, which contains the largest concentration of Delaclav ex-pats within Sarzonia and some of the best baked goods Sarzonia has to offer. The Little Timiocato neighbourhood is also very popular with Pacitalian cuisine dominant in restaurants throughout the neighbourhood.

The sporting crown jewel of Sarzonia is the Dave Wilson Athletic Complex and Dave Wilson Stadium, the national stadium of Sarzonia, which seats 105,900. Sarzonia's home matches and any knockout round matches will take place at Nottingham Pavilion, a football-specific venue seating 18,200 on the outskirts of the Athletic Complex. The final will take place at Franz Braddock Stadium, which is a lacrosse stadium seating 35,000; but temporary seating will be added if ticket sales are sufficient. It can expand to up to 44,030 seats for the final.

Nicksia Profile
Sarzonia's largest city has long been the cultural capital of The Incorporated States and is the centre of the country's creative scene. The city takes its name from Fleetwood Mac singer and solo singer-songwriter Stevie Nicks. The city boasts a population of 14.6 million people with a large district named Rhiannon that boasts an array of coffee shops, cafes, and contains a historic section with replicas of cobblestone streets. A row of taverns and pubs lines one set of streets.

The historic district includes the site of the old Nicksia Stock Exchange, which closed down in the mid-2000s when the country's financial centre moved to Portland with the ascent of the Portland Iron Works among the world's leading military contractors. The building was used for a while as a location for satellite PIW offices until the Benatar Historical Society acquired the building with funding from Sarzonia's Division of Culture. It also includes the "southern Gray House" where late founding President Mike Sarzo once convalesced after being diagnosed with cancer.

Nicksia's sporting jewels are highlighted by Mike Sarzo Stadium, a retractable roof stadium with a natural grass pitch and a transparent retractable roof that allows sunlight in to provide nourishment for the grass. The stadium has a statue of founding Sarzonian President Mike Sarzo at the main entrance on Putnam Avenue. The stadium seats 77,910 and was recently renovated with solar panels and upgraded with the latest big screens, LED displays, and free Wifi access. The newly constructed Bank of Sarzonia Arena is in competition with the venerable Palestra in Woodstock for the status of home court for the Sarzonian national basketball team.

Visitors can attend the Naval History Museum near The Pier where people traveling between Sarzonia and Delaclava can also rent motor and sailboats for day trips between the two countries. Visitors can see the USS Constitution, the oldest commissioned warship still afloat and the only commissioned warship in the Incorporated Sarzonian Navy without the ISS prefix. The ISS Rampage, a light aircraft carrier from Sarzonia's earliest days is also among the ships on display. It is surrounded by the Old Port neighbourhood with a collection of rustic-looking taverns that also includes souvenir shops.

Aficionados of live music can get their fix at the Mabel Normand Centre for the Performing Arts five nights a week. Thursday nights are open mic nights where the house band allows any aspiring musicians to try out singing live. The Crystal Visions Palace offers free music lessons to anyone regardless of age or ability. Actors can play their trade in a supportive environment at the Sea of Love Thespian Centre.

The newly built Muskegon Stadium, a 15,930-seat venue will be the site for any matches played in Nicksia.

Portland Profile
The home of the venerable Portland Iron Works, a defence contractor that originally sold naval ships, but became large enough to acquire the Wilmington Shipyard Corporation, which sold hospital ships and other logistics supplies, among other contractors. The city became the financial capital with the continued ascent of the PIW, and moved to the Portland Stock Exchange building, which is the centrepiece of the city's Finance District. Guided tours for countries friendly to Sarzonia are available for a fee. The Portland Iron Works building has a statue of its first CEO, Admiral Barbara Tucker in front of it. The street for the PIW campus is named Admiral Tucker Boulevard.

The city also has an Old Port area, featuring a large collection of boating for people who want to take boats out for fishing or for just being on the open water. Some of the country's prime seafood restaurants call the Old Port home. A highly advanced light rail shuttles people between Portland itself and the growing neighbouring city Corcorran, which was named after the Delaclav city that is the largest city near Sarzonia.

The city just finished construction on a brand new Iron Bowl to replace the venerable structure that once hosted Sarzonian football home matches. The building seats 70,165 for football.

Charter Field will be the venue for any matches taking place in Portland. It seats 17,120.

Wilmington Profile
The city that was once at the forefront of shipbuilding industry in Sarzonia on the strength of the Pasteur-class hospital ships that were its backbone, Wilmington has evolved into an eclectic city representing a wide variety of Sarzonian life. It's best known for its shipping and beachfront areas, along with hospitality that's second to few places within Sarzonia. Wilmington also is a major presence in Sarzonia's sporting history with it being among the "big four" of Sarzonian sports cities. Wilmington will host knockout round fixtures at Shipyard Stadium, which seats 62,758, but capacity for the Jenna Raven Cup will be 16,922.

Cultural Notes

Sarzonians are polite, but can be a little reserved and sometimes aloof when they meet strangers. However, once they get to know people, they can open up and let their guard down.

The currency in Sarzonia is the Sarzonian dollar. There is no $1 bill. The one dollar coin has a picture of founding President Mike Sarzo on the obverse. It is subdivided into 100 cents. Each stadium has a bank that allows for currency exchanges from your currency to the Sarzonian dollar. The three most common currencies exchanged for Sarzonian dollars are the Isselmerian-Nielander lethse, the Pacitalian douro and fouta, and the Delaclav karsika and cent.

Sarzonia Stars

Permissions:
Anything but killing or tournament-ending injuries is fine.

Manager: Brenda Allison, 49
Allison is the niece of a financier who wants to resurrect Sarzonia's women's football league. She grew up watching the Women's World Cup, but came of age when Sarzonia entered its most recent period of isolation. She was a defender on the Woodstock Justice before the Sarzonian Football League ceased operations.

Assistant: Dean Gold, 52
Gold was an coaching intern with the Portland Power before the SFL folded into the Sarzonian Football Confederation as a combined Sarzonian Football League. He agreed to be the manager of a new Portland Power in a new league.

Home grounds:
Nottingham Pavilion, Praeton Heights (Woodstock suburb), capacity 18,200. This will be the home grounds for Sarzonia's matches, and all matches in Woodstock will be played here, including the knockout rounds except for the final, which will be at Franz Braddock Stadium in Woodstock (capacity 40,550 for football).

ROSTER (starters in BOLD)

GOALKEEPERS
18 Marce' George, 22, 5-foot-8, 145 pounds
George (her first name is pronounced Mar-SAY) shows great athleticism but is unpolished in the back. She may see playing time regardless.

30 Carly Parsons, 30, 5-foot-10, 170 pounds
Brought in as a veteran backup for George after Knight-Langham got suspended.

DEFENDERS
2 Blayre West, 23, 5-foot-6, 130 pounds
West brings speed to her position at left back and she is expected to tightly mark her assigned player.
3 Clara Hawley, 29, 5-foot-10, 160 pounds
A natural lefty, Hawley has played sweeper in a 3-5-2, but is more comfortable with the 4-4-2.
4 Joyce Tyler, 24, 5-foot-8, 140 pounds
She expects to learn from Hawley as they will room together on the road. She is playing central defence for the first time.
19 Tara Stanley, 22, 5-foot-9, 145 pounds
Stanley is another outside back with great speed, but with less polish than West has.
22 Virginia Ashfield, 23, 5-foot-4, 125 pounds
28 Geraldine Tambor, 25, 5-foot-7, 140 pounds

MIDFIELDERS
8 Callie Edwards, 24, 5-foot-3, 145 pounds
Edwards is a rugged defensive midfielder who frequently marks the opposing team's playmaking midfielder and generally operates as a pest.
9 Lois Robinson, 22, 5-foot-10, 155 pounds
She takes the lefty free kicks and corners. She can control the ball on the left side, but isn't the surest passer, so she doesn't serve as playmaker.
10 Joelle Burns, 26, 5-foot-6, 140 pounds
Her vision and passing ability made her the natural fit for playmaking midfielder. She takes the righty free kicks and corners. Her defence is a bit suspect.
14 Winnie Taunton, 27, 5-foot-9, 150 pounds
Taunton takes a majority of the penalties and produces blinding speed on the wings.
15 Xander Williams, 19, 5-foot-8, 160 pounds
20 Sierra Dawkins, 29, 5-foot-9, 155 pounds
23 Mariama Vance, 25, 5-foot-10, 170 pounds

FORWARDS
11 Carly Wilcox, 22, 5-foot-11, 175 pounds (Woodstock Wild reserves)
Wilcox retained her place on the Wild's reserve squad and made eight appearances and six starts after her transition. She was invited to train with the men's national team, but declined after she suffered an injury.
12 Jolene Walter-Campos, 31, 5-foot-1, 130 pounds
The creative forward on the team, she modeled her game after her younger stepbrother Jake Campos on the current men's national team.
16 Ellen Magruder, 24, 5-foot-8, 150 pounds
17 Pietra Stanicek, 27, 5-foot-9, 160 pounds

The Eshian National Women's Soccer Team
Jenna Raven Cup I Roster
Brought to you by the Eshialand Soccer Federation
Image

In January 2021, the concept of any Eshian soccer team, let alone a women's one, would be considered absolutely ridiculous, but now in January of 2022, after a victorious Baptism of Fire campaign and a surprisingly decent Cup of Harmony, here we are.

Eshialand's team for those tournaments had been a co-ed one, but there was no denying that the women on the team were a lot better than the men. Now, without the men holding them back, who knows what the women's team can do?

Nickname: the Owls
Style mod: +2
Formation: 4-2-3-1

Stadiums:

The Eshialand City SuperDome (cap. 75,000)
Eshialand City, Ontario

The home of the Eshialand Soccer League's Eshialand City Royals, the SuperDome is a modern stadium (built in 2021) outfitted with a retractable roof and a modern heating system, perfect for a cold Eshian winter, where the temperature could drop as low as -10o Celsius (14o Fahrenheit). There's also free Wi-Fi available and some of the best snacks out there, so there's no real reason for fans not to enjoy their match-going experience!

Host stadium for: MD2 vs. Saterun, MD6 vs. Felinetopia.

The Southern Sportsplex (cap. 45,000)
Cincinnati, Ohio

The home of the ESL's Cincinnati Siege, the Southern Sportsplex is another modern stadium (again, built in 2021), however this time it's outdoors, so you'll have to play/watch the match in temperatures somewhere between the freezing mark and 5o Celsius (41o Fahrenheit). Luckily, there is heating on the seats for fan comfort, but still, I'd bring a coat. Free Wi-Fi is available here, as it is in Eshialand City.

Host stadium for: MD4 vs. Kohnhead.

Kits (thanks Txakhaxi!):

Coach: Glinda MONAGHAN, 56
Glinda is a very cold and distant person, who absolutely refuses to see her players as anything other than cogs in the Eshian machine. All she cares about is winning, often to the detriment of the team.

Roster (starters in bold):
Cap and goal statistics come from the co-ed national team, and are updated to the end of the 80th Cup of Harmony.

Goalkeepers:
    GK #1 Tyra ZARELKO, 24
    GK #13 Elizabeth MICHAELS, 22
    1 cap
    GK #14 Gina TELLARI, 29

Defenders:
    RCB #3 Lisa DEVERS, 28
    RCB #5 Matilda LUHAN, 27
    LB #6 Clara DONALDSON, 25
    RB #8 Sarah SILVER, 30
    35 caps
    RB #10 Gabriela SMITH, 21
    LCB #20 Dominique LaPLANTE, 26
    35 caps, 1 goal
    LB #21 Bella ANDREWS, 27
    LCB #31 Carrie WESTON, 25

Midfielders:
    LM #4 Harriet COPELAND, 26
    4 caps, 1 goal
    Spotlight on: Harriet Copeland
Harriet was always known to be an aggressive player, and she shows exactly that whenever she comes on the pitch. 3 of her 4 caps came from the 75th Baptism of Fire, where she proved herself both a ball-hog and a war-monger, the opposite of the team player. Her fourth cap came from a friendly against Græntfjall, when she got into an on-pitch incident with Kalle Bjørnsson, leading to a 3-match suspension (the only suspension in Eshian history) and being removed from the roster for the 80th Cup of Harmony. What kind of shenanigans will she get into in the Jenna Raven Cup?

RM #12 Melissa CAREY, 28 (CAPTAIN)
    35 caps, 9 goals
    Spotlight on: Melissa Carey
The nation has high hopes for Melissa Carey after captaining the Eshian national team in all of its competitions last year, showing remarkable goalscoring and playmaking ability, as well as proving herself a true leader. However, she tends to play farther ahead than Coach Monaghan may like, and she may come into conflict with Monaghan over that and other disagreements.

    LM #29 Jessica FISK, 24
    RM #41 Anna WARREN, 29

Forwards:
    RW #7 Faith KRUPP, 23
    LW #9 Alyssa LONGFIELD, 27
    35 caps, 8 goals
    RW #15 Tamara BAKER, 27
    LW #17 Erica LEWIS, 22
    AM #18 Rana JOSEPH, 26
    AM #19 Avery MacDOUGALL, 27
    34 caps, 3 goals

Strikers:
    ST #24 Alice CARROLL, 23
    24 caps, 13 goals
    Spotlight on: Alice Carroll
The second overall goal-scorer in Eshialand's Cycle 88 tournaments, Carroll was a surprising star who nobody ever expected. She first played on the national team as a temporary replacement for Jacob Harran in Eshialand's Baptism of Fire semifinal match against Atheara, and since then has proven herself one of the 3 best members of the team, if not the best. Who knows what she could do in the Jenna Raven Cup?

    ST #33 Marcy BENNETT, 24

The Return

This RP will be told from striker Alice Carroll's perspective.

RING! RING!

"Mel?"
"Hey Alice! Long time no see!"
"I know, right? I can't wait to see you and the other girls again..."
"Excited to meet the new team members and coach?"
"Can I be honest?"
"Of course you can. We're friends, it's not like we can't tell the truth with each other..."
"I'm really not looking forward to meeting the new team. I mean, how can you replace the friends we had on the national team? How can you replace Coach?"
"I'm not super happy about it either, but it's just for one tournament. And who knows, they could be nice..."

There's an awkward pause for a few seconds as you keep reflecting on your experiences... it's as if Mel could read your mind when she said...

"Look, you'll get to see Jake again soon, I promise."
"Thanks, it's just..."
"I know it's been hard not having any free time to see each other, but I think I could help make it up to you. Me and the other girls from the old team were planning on catching up over some coffee before we meet the new team, how does that sound?"
"Uhh... yeah, sure."
"Great! I'll text you the time and place."
"See ya then..."

The day arrives, and you get to a Moonbill's in downtown Eshialand City, where Mel, Avery, Sarah, Alyssa, Dominique, Elizabeth, and Harriet are waiting for you.

You talk for about two hours, catching up on everything from the domestic leagues to personal lives to your favorite new Webflix shows. You felt at home in a way that you just hadn't since you left Graintfjall two months prior. Sure, in Cincinnati you got to see Sarah and Lucas, but now you were with the team in a more complete way than that. Granted, not complete, but more complete.

Eventually, you made your way to the SuperDome where the new members of the team would be waiting for you, but oddly, there was no coach to be found.

You struck up a conversation with right winger Faith Krupp for about half an hour while you waited, and she seemed nice enough. Perhaps this wouldn't be so bad...

"WHAT IN MARGARET'S NAME ARE YOU DOING??" That must be the new coach.
"Uhh... talking?"
"WHY AREN'T YOU TRAINING??"
"Because you weren't here...?"
"THAT'S NO EXCUSE! I SAID TRAINING AT 1 PM, SO I EXPECT TRAINING AT 1 PM!!! I WANT TO SEE RESULTS!!"

Well she was gonna be a joy to be around.

Kriegiersien Olympic National Football Team (women)

The women‘s team consist mostly out of daughters of the clones from Simeone Di Bradini, who were created and played for the Kriegiersien U21 Team long ago.

They failed to win anything at the Olympics and in the IAC 11, but nevertheless are the team that will be send to the Olympics. And to the Jenna Raven Cup.

For a nation where nudity is mandatory, clothes are always a nice surprise. Kriegiersien comes as always in their black Olympic rags.. jerseys.

After seeing the struggling mens team in the Cup of Harmony, Atheara decides to form a womens football team also in hopes to divert the attention to the Jenna Raven Cup / 14th Edition of the Womens World Cup. Football Association of the Commonwealth

The reintroduction of a Women's World Cup has come at just the right moment for the Commonwealth of Baker Park National Team, as the longevity of several major players has kept new talent from getting a chance to break into the player pool. The Jenna Raven Cup marks the return of the BPNT to Sarzonia.

Under-21's boss and FAC Director of Player Development Liam Sullivan will take charge of his first senior team assignment, a seemingly natural choice as most of this squad have spent a couple of years under his direction at age group level. Kristen Sawyer will serve as Sullivan's number two, and youth development coach Fredrica Baptiste will be one of the staff coaches, along with a pair of newcomers to the FAC staff: former Southend AC goalkeeper Rich Gabriel earned his Pro Coaching License last summer and is joining Elaine King's keeper development department, so this will be his first tourney squad experience, while Melissa Kinney will use the experience as part of her final Pro License practicum module; the 29 year old Kinney was a teammate of former NT winger Veronica Navarro at University of Ezriquay, who encouraged Kinney to pursue the top FAC coaching badge.

Seven uncapped players are included in the 24 woman squad, along with two other players considered 'bantams', the name given to those who have made fewer than 5 NT appearances; Sullivan is putting great faith in those who saw important time during the World Cup Qualifying process but just missed out on the Finals.

System: 3-4-1-2
Style Mod: +2.44
Nickname: Lady Elks--The Elk is the national animal of the Commonwealth of Baker Park, and although the men's side were the original il Bombi (the bumblebees), it wasn't ever more than an unofficial nickname until the late 1980's; Elks was more widely used, and "Black Falcons" (another national animal) got a tryout as a more official moniker during the 70's & mid 80's for the men.
The Women's NT was established in 1979, and were always the Lady Elks (although obviously not the biologically correct term) until the beginning of mixed-gender NT squads. The re-introduction of the original nickname is more symbolic than a meaningful change for the JRC.

DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF ABANHFLEFT
NATIONAL ASSOCIATION FOOTBALL TEAM - WOMEN'S

This is the first time that Abanhfleft will participate in either the Jenna Raven Cup or the Women's World Cup. The women's team has participated in a fair few number of World Cups, representing Abanhfleft in all of them, but this is the first time that they will be taking part in a tournament that is explicitly marked as the Women's World Cup. With the Samahang Futbol ng Abanhfleft still somewhat undecided on whether to take part in the next edition of the Di Bradini Under-21 World Cup, the SFA has taken the opportunity to blood players from both within the under-23 bracket and the fringes of the senior national team in this particular tournament to hopefully get a feel on how the young women of today will perform against the other football-playing women of the multiverse.

BASIC INFORMATION
Name of nation: Democratic Republic of Abanhfleft
Demonym: Fleftic
Team colors: White (home), red and blue (away)
Style modifier: +2.5
Formation: 4-2-3-1 (This will be standard unless I change it through RPs)
Head coach: Kate Bernanos (50 y/o, Abanhfleft)

STARTERS
GK: Mihaela HRISTOVA 22 y/o, Rosenpfelblatz City Women Image
Mihaela has finally become a starting goalkeeper for the Abanhfleft national team. However, it's not because she has finally proven herself worthy of the position so much as because the SFA don't want to risk their actual starters for what basically amounts to a tune-up tournament. And it still depends on whether Mihaela can work together with this team or not.

RB: Queen YARNALL 25 y/o, Admiral Porcusces Women Image
A quiet and sturdy defender who for her age is already making waves not only in the youth leagues but also in her handful of appearances for the Admiral Porcusces Women senior team. Still needs some work obviously but she could have a very high ceiling indeed.

RCB: Rose BANE 20 y/o, Uthilmir United Image
Rose is perhaps the only member of the defense in that under-18 team in the 13th Under-18 World Cup who managed to escape that collapse with her reputation still fairly intact. Her reward for this is gaining a starting spot in the women's national team for the Jenna Raven/Women's World Cup. Rose generally has a good defensive head on her but is still often overcome by the rashness of youth.

LCB: Tiera WALRATH 27 y/o, Ogovlich Medusas Image
One quarter of the Ogovlich backline that won them the Youth Premier League title this season. Like Wilton Kaba beside her in the under-18 team, Tiera's main purpose is to win balls inside the box and then kick it right out of the danger area. Accuracy needs a bit of work though.

LB: Tien GOODLETT 26 y/o, Ogovlich Medusas Image
The second quarter of the Ogovlich backline that won the Youth Premier League. Tien is more of an attacking fullback who likes to maraud further up the pitch and assist in the attack. She still gets back in defense more times than not but a particularly quick counterattack could still leave her stranded where she can be of no help to her fellow defenders.

RM: SIBUSIZWE Kiggwancha 26 y/o, Athletic Motonou Image
SIbusizwe's greatest strength lies in the fact that she can win the ball in midfield more times than not. Of course, most of this is against girls and boys on or nearly the same age as she is, but when she turned out for Athletic Motonou's senior side in the last few matchdays of the Ladies' Third Division season (with the title already wrapped up for Motonou) Sibusizwe looked capable of doing much the same thing against players who were much older and much more experienced than her. Now, she may be older but she's still no closer to being able to show this side of her game regularly because of manager philosophies and better players becoming available for call-up to the national team.

LM: Tatiana TOS 23 y/o, Xemlice Rovers Ladies Image
Every team worth its salt needs an enforcer in the midfield, and if recent seasons are anything to go by, Tatiana Tos could very well be that enforcer. Tatiana was born in the Fhulghamous Peninsula but chose to represent Abanhfleft instead because the Fhulghamous' women's football program is simply woeful, to say the least. This will surely make her want to prove that she truly deserves the call-up to the senior Fleftic team.

RW: Sohaila MAGOMEDOVA 30 y/o, Exiles FK Image (Pridnestrovia)
Sohaila is one of Heinrich Wurzmann's latest finds from the Alternative Football Program. Her idols growing up were tricky players like Finn Jameson, Ruud Akinfenyor, and Matthew Cave, and Sohaila certainly has the feet to emulate them. She has indeed turned into one of the best right wingers Abanhfleft has to offer, but her decision to move to lower league Pridnestrovian side Exiles FK has cost her many a call-up with the national team. Until now, that is.

CAM: Josefine VITAGLIANO 19 y/o, Wanda Island Wanderers Women Image
Another bright spot in that disastrous DBC 48 campaign. Josefine would prefer to be able to become a second striker or a false 9 drifting in and out of pockets of space, and while she is still unable to do that at the moment due to tactics, at least being a central attacking midfielder puts her in a somewhat similar position. Josefine will just have to come from deeper from the field than she would like.

LW: Claudia ROOS 29 y/o, Arsenal de Releinthi Women Image
Claudia finally made the move from left back to left winger, a move that worked out well in the end for her, what with her pace, crossing ability, and incisive runs into the box. However, injuries have plagued her career and forced her out of contention for a call-up for much of what should have been the best years of her career, but now it looks like she's about to turn the whole thing around and become a late bloomer along the lines of a certain Tristan Lee.

ST: Hiroko KELLERMAN 22 y/o, Rosenpfelblatz City Women Image
Kellerman won the Golden Boot in the Fleftic Premier Development League 1 with a 23-goal haul in the 2028-29 season, earning her a promotion up to the senior women's team where she continued her goalscoring form with 21 goals for 2029-30, making her the highest goalscorer of the Citizens that season. She earned a call-up to the under-21 team for the 48th Di Bradini Cup, where she was one of the few bright spots in an otherwise disastrous campaign which once again convinced the SFA to boycott the Di Bradini Cup for real and permanently this time.

The Jenna Raven Cup: A Preview

"Hello and welcome back to ENN Tournament Report, I'm your host Josh Seametzle."
"And I'm your special guest co-host Karsten Rhodes!"
"And it's finally time for some real soccer instead of that Eternal Suffering League!"
"The Endless Sadness League?"
"The Eshialand Soccer League! Anyway, that's not why we're here, we're here for the Jenna Raven Cup, aka the Women's World Cup with extra steps!"
"Let's break down Eshialand's opponents in Group D and see just how badly the Owls can disappoint us this time!"

Matchdays 1 and 4: Kohnhead

"Well, Kohnhead could be a problem."
"You can say that again! Kohnhead actually has experience, something the Owls simply don't have."
"Maybe our girls can fight through?"
"Yeah... no."

Matchdays 2 and 5: Saterun

"Well, Saterun's a new nation to the international sporting world, so maybe Eshialand has a chance against them?"
"It only means they have everything to lose, and Saterun is here to play. Sure, Saterun may face an uphill battle, but if they win, and they very much could win, that's only gonna be an embarrassment for the Owls."
"All I heard is that Saterun faces an uphill battle!"
"And all I heard at the sushi restaurant was 'our chefs have a lot of experience', but what I didn't hear was that they had a lot of courtroom experience from all the times people sued them for food poisoning!"

Matchdays 3 and 6: Felinetopia

"So... they're cats?"
"I'm sure it's just a name..."
"No, it says right here, they're actually cats."
"Okay, so? What real difference does that make?"
"Ummm... well..."
"Felinetopia's a nation that just recently returned to international sports after a long absence..."
"How long?"
"World Cup 76 long."
"That's over twice as long as Eshialand's entire history!
"That's why they have a lot to prove in this tournament, and they'll be looking to prove themselves against Eshialand!"
"To be completely honest... I like this matchup."

"So, all in all, how do you think Eshialand will fare at this first edition of the Jenna Raven Cup?"
"In a word, disappointingly."
"Oh, come on now Karsten, the Owls have a real shot at this one!"
"Yeah, sure, just like how Alana Markai has a shot at sobering up and coming back to ENN like nothing ever happened!"
"And with that odd comment, I think it's time to finish up this special edition of ENN Tournament Report! Until next time, I've been Josh Seametzle, and that smile machine has been Karsten Rhodes. See you after the Kohnhead-Eshialand match!"

A New Start for the Ladies

HUElavia to debut in the 14th Women's World Cup being one of the favorites for the tournament.

Throughout the team's history, the HUElavian National Football Team was entirely comprised of male players, representing the United States of HUElavia. Over two decades ago, the HUElavian Football Association made the historic decision to make the national team co-ed, bringing in opportunities for both men and women to represent the team. The World Cup 84 Qualifiers was the first time that this co-ed team was used in an event, bringing in the three most promising female players at the time: defender Kira Smirnov (now Nazarenko), midfielder Natalia Ramirez (now Duran), and forward Ayuka Hamada (now Hamada-Navarro), whom all three of these pioneering women were teenagers. Nearly two decades later, two of these three remain, being the likes of Duran and Hamada-Navarro (with Nazarenko retired from the National Team), and today, a new and historic team has been made: The HUElavian Women's National Football Team.

With the return of the Women's World Cup, HUElavia was one of 24 teams that registered for the tournament, one that they could not miss out on. Given that this is the first time a Women's World Cup team is participating, the HFA has requested the main national team manager, Leonardo Conavacio from Quebec and Shingoryeo, to organize this historic team. Picking among the best female players of the HUElavian Football League, 23 women have been selected, with a mix of experienced veterans and new prospects that have promise to be in the National Team in the future. Some of the notable players on this roster include Hamada-Navarro (who is the captain for this tournament), Duran, Conti-Esposito, Ramos, and Wentz. Some of the promising young players on the roster includes Resendes, Belluci Cabral, Yamane, and Lopes Lemos (who recently broke out in the youth squads the past two years).

The team was drawn in Group B with the likes of Baker Park, Baggieland, and Raspotochje, where HUElavia is the top seed for the group. Given that the Group Stage is a round-robin, the three home games have been announced by the HFA and local governments to be as follows: Estadio Nacional (100,000) in Curumba, Estadio Salvador (85,000) in Sao Salvador, and Estadio Internacional (82,500) in San Rafael. Three of the four largest stadiums in HUElavia were selected in the three most historic cities of HUElavia to celebrate this historic occasion in HUElavian football. The first game will be versus Raspotochje in San Rafael, the second match will be at Baggieland, the third match versus Baker Park in Curumba, the fourth match at Raspotochje, the fifth match versus Baggieland at Sao Salvador, and the sixth match at Baker Park. The top 4 group winners advance to the Quarter-Finals, while the 5th through 12th ranked teams advance to a play-off round to decide the 4 teams joining in the Quarter-FInals.

The team is training hard in the official training camp in Curumba, where the ladies are getting along well with each other and studying film to take on their opponents. Once again, 15% capacity will go to the visitors, while tickets are selling out for the home matches in the three cities. The fans are looking forward to supporting the very best women the nation can offer in Football. Here's to a fun and entertaining historic tournament for Las Amarillas/As Amarelas.

FORCA HUELAVIA! VAMOS HUELAVIA! GO HUELAVIA!

The Feline Pawball Confederation presents
The Jenna Raven Cup/Women's World Cup 14 Roster

After a long absence from multiversal competition, the Felines are returning to Pawball/Association Football competition with the Jenna Raven Cup AKA the 14th Women's World Cup. This is not what the Feline Pawball Confederation had in mind for a the Feline's return to multiversal pawball. The Confederation wished that this would have been a mixed gender tournament as a way to gel the national team but getting a test of the multiverse pawball scene for the Felines is still important in developing pawball in the Feline World. As the Leopard Territory is in the process of joining the Union, the FPC saw it fit to hire a head coach from the nation, Puleng Temitope. The FPC looks forward to the progress and the success of The Mollies.

The FPC selected this stadium as they saw the seating arrangement of Sonic Stadium to be the most suitable for a multiversal competition with human visitors. Kampawla is located in the dry, Savanna hills of the Kalafuri which is currently in a dry season. Many Felines outside of the Cheetah Republic distrust Cheetahs because of past corruption but the Union is aiding in improving the integrity of the Cheetah government.

This RP will be told from Melissa Carey's perspective.

When you first heard that the Women's World Cup would be coming back, you were genuinely excited. It seemed like a fun chance to reconnect with some of your teammates after the Cup of Harmony.

So what went wrong? What sucked all of the fun out of this tournament and made it seem like more of a grueling, annoying slog than anything else?

Well, the answer to that million-dollar question was the new coach, Glinda Monaghan. Her coaching style was, to say the least, intense. Day in and day out, the team had to deal with hours upon hours of passing drills, ball-stealing practice, and mock penalty kicks. There was no time at all to sit back, relax, and rest up.

Eventually, the first matchday arrived, and you and the rest of the team were absolutely dreading it. I mean, if Coach Monaghan was as mean as she was in training, how brutal could she be in an actual match?

You'd start to find out in the 14th minute, as Sarah stole the ball from a Kohnheadian left winger and passed it to you. You ran up the field, passing back and forth with Avery for a while, before shooting it past the Brains' keeper to open the score. Under Coach Morgan of the national team, this would be a standard play, but under Coach Monaghan...

"CAREY!!" She was clearly mad about something.
"Yes Coach Monaghan?" you reply, running towards the bench.
"Remind me, what's your position on this team?"
"Right midfield?"
"SO WHAT ARE YOU DOING PLAYING LIKE A RIGHT WINGER?!?!"
"I had an opportunity, so I took it. Look, we're on the board!"
"If I wanted you running up the pitch and scoring like that, I would've put you on the right wing, but no, Krupp's there, isn't she?"
"But I had an opportunity, what can I say?"
"WELL CUT IT OUT WITH THESE 'OPPORTUNITIES' AND STAY IN THE MIDFIELD!"
"Uh... okay?"

She was almost like a robot, more concerned with everything being in perfect, logical order than embracing the beautifully choreographed chaos that was a real soccer match.

That screaming rant from the coach drilled into everyone's minds that they should play rigidly and paint inside the lines, lest they face the consequences. However, the team's subsequent boring and uninspired playstyle led to three easy goals from Kohnhead in the 21st, 29th, and 40th.

As halftime arrived, Coach Monaghan had a few questions for the now-struggling Owls, questions that would be nearly impossible to answer without her seeing it as insubordination. When she asked why Kohnhead was able to score three goals in 20 minutes, the only answer the defense could give was "I dunno..." and when she asked why Alice wasn't shooting enough, all she could possibly say was "I haven't even touched the ball!"

Then, she turned to you and asked what you thought was the silliest question you had heard in a long time... "Why are you such an ineffective team leader?!"

All you could do was answer, in the most serious tone of voice possible, "I thought you were the team leader, being the coach and all..."

The rest of the team laughed at your joking response, but it elicited a less-than-favorable response from Coach Monaghan, who didn't appreciate the obvious snark, replying "If I hear one more word out of your mouth for the rest of the match, YOUR NEW POSITION'S GONNA BE BENCHWARMER!!!"

Okay then... that's not great...

Luckily, in the second half, you and the team got more used to the more rigid formation and started working more efficiently, much to Coach Monaghan's liking. That new girl Faith Krupp scored off of a pass from Avery in the 61st, and Alice scored (assisted by Alyssa) in the 79th to even it up, but that was all. A draw. Needless to say, Monaghan was not happy.

"WHAT THE HECK WAS THAT?!?! WE NEEDED A WIN AND ALL YOU GOT US WAS A DRAW!!! I HOPE YOU STRAIGHTEN UP AND WIN FOR US NEXT TIME, OR ELSE YOU'RE NOT GONNA..."

As Coach Monaghan continues her psychotic rant, you look over at the other Owls and see a look in their eyes that tells you that they're thinking exactly what you're thinking...

One way or another, Coach Monaghan has to be replaced.

Kohnhead - 3 (Unknown 21', Unknown 29', Unknown 40')
Eshialand - 3 (Carey 14', Krupp 61', Carroll 79')

"Hello and welcome back to ENN Tournament Report, I'm your host Josh Seametzle, and the Jenna Raven Cup has finally begun! As usual, I'm here to bring you the results of and my reactions to the matches in Group D, so let's hop right into it!"

Kohnhead 3-3 Eshialand
"Well, we didn't lose... I guess that's a plus in an otherwise painful match..."

Saterun 3-0 Felinetopia
"This match is one that we at ENN were watching very closely, since we didn't know too much about either team and didn't know which one to be more afraid of... yep, definitely Saterun!"

"Now normally, I'd go on to cover other matches in other groups that might particularly interest you, our audience, but we at ENN don't want to show any favoritism this time around, so instead, we have a different news story!

"The Eshialand Soccer Federation has finally announced where the Owls' home matches will be played, and IT'S ABOUT TIME! Our first home match is in three days, you couldn't have been any quicker?

"It looks like Saterun and Felinetopia are going to go to the Eshialand City Superdome, whereas Kohnhead will get to play in the Southern Sportsplex... okay? I'm not against this stadium lineup, but using Cincinnati for a tournament game rather than a friendly like before just seems a bit bizarre to me...

"Well, I'm a bit lost for words at that one, but luckily, I don't need any more words until after the Saterun match, since that's the next time I'll be back with Tournament Report. Until then, I've been Josh Seametzle."
Anything I say is IC unless proven otherwise by a court of law.

JENNA RAVEN CUP- WOMEN'S WORLD CUP 14

FOOTBALL PLAYERS WIN AT THE START OF JENNA RAVEN CUP

IVAN BOŽIĆ : Great opening and performance of our football players. The football players from Srednjaci play in a strong team. The IBA Champions League is over for the players. The national team is complete and in great shape. This tournament is a real preparation for what is to come and these are of course the Summer Olympics.
Davida Zimmer repaired a minor injury that left her off the field for a while and did not play in the last two rounds of the IBA Champions League. However, she came ready and played great as expected of her.

Srednjaci 3-2 Abanhfleft

28' Petra Marinović, assist Davida Zimmer (1:0)
42' Horoko Kellerman, assist Magomedova (1:1)
51' Davida Zimmer, assist Leona Jurković (2:1)
76' Jullie Sarco in, Hana Vučemilović out
79' Ivana Julišković in, Leona Jurković out
85' Jullie Sarco , ssist Ivana Julišković (3:1)
88' Claudia Roos- free kick ( 3:2)

The players of Srednjaci and Abanhfleft played a great game. There were over 10,000 fans from Srednjaci on the stadium and probably a bit more from Abanhfleft. We saw five goals in a game where there were some great actions. The first 15 minutes passed completely uninteresting. Both tried their hand at midfield trying to uncover the opponent's weak point. However, the captain, Davida Zimmer, begins her breakthroughs.
The first real attempt happened in the 18th minute of the game when Zimmer shot brilliantly from the edge of the penalty area and goalkeeper Abanhfleft turned the ball into a corner. Danijela Majić takes the corner, and Hana Vučemilović shoots with her head over the goal.
Then in the 28th minute of the game Abanhfleft had a long attack, trying to break through the excellent defense of Srednjaci. But then Magda Roberta Eralić wins the ball. Davida Zimmer, Hana Vučemilović and Petra Marinović are already running into the counterattack. Eralić quickly passes to Davida Zimmer, who is too fast for Yarnall. Zimmer enters the penalty area, Yarnall is late and tries to block Zimmer. Zimmer plays great for Petra Marinović and she scores the first goal for a 1-0 lead.
In the 42nd minute, there was an equalizer. Magomedova runs on the wing. Hiroko Kellerman awaits ready infront of Srednjacian's goal. Magomedova made a great cross infront of Hiroko Kellerman, and Kellerman shots for 1: 1.
In the second half, Srednjaci put pressure on Abanhfleft's goal. Abanhfleft’s defense was under constant attack and it was only a matter of time before that defense would brak apart. Defence made mistake in the 51st minute when Leona Jurković got rid of her keeper, Zimmer ran inside the penalty area, Jurković assisted well and Zimmer scored without any problems for 2: 1.
Abanhfleft began to open, wanting to go for all or nothing. They leave a lot of room for counterattacks by our footballers. For the counterattacks to be successful, the coach made two substitutions, refreshing the attack. It was these two changes that led to a new goal in the 85th minute of the game. Seventeen-year-old Julišković assisted to Sarco for 3: 1.
In the 88th minute, the most beautiful goal of the match will fall. Vitagliano was stopped by a foul at a distance of 21 meters from the goal. Free kick will take Claudia Roos who scored an amazing goal.

A not so good start by our girls at Sarzonia

A loss by the minimal margin. The debut of the Tylastronian Female Team couldn't be the worst and couldn't be the best. A poll where we asked the supporters if they approved how our girls performed gave the results of 71% of "they did play great" and we couldn't agree more, Sarzonia is the head of the group and only losing by 1-0 shows how forceful our girls are!

Line-up
GK - Samantha Tsukomoki (Captain)
LB - Astrid Simas
CB - Kristine Anderssen
CB - Ann Watanabe
RB - Aiya Mjelde
CMD - Akako Asao
CMF - Isabel Stensland
CMF - Ena Amamiya
LW - Kaori Riise
RW - Kawa Itagaki
Forward - Kohana Nordby

The coach of the Tylastrona team, Hitomi Akizuwa, on the post-match interview stated that "I'm proud of the girls, they did their absolute best to stop Sarzonia to higher their lead. Sad about the defeat, but this is football, we lose and win. We just hope for a great win next time."

Tylastrona is debuting on International Sports at Jenna Raven Cup, currently with 0 points and - 1 goal difference. Tylastrona will face next Banija, in the Sporting Bergen Stadium (45,000 capacity), hoping that the home game brings out a win.

The coach will prepare the game, knowing that Banija tied with Atheara. "We studied the game, we know how they play, we hope to surprise them and win.". The captain of the team and started goalkeeper mentioned the "great potencial" of the Tylastronian girls and that "we shouldn't be looked down as a weak nation"

JENNA RAVEN CUP- WOMEN'S WORLD CUP

FOOTBALL TEAM RAPPOTOCHJE OPENED THE COMPETITION WITH A VICTORY

Group B
HUElavia 0-2 Raspotochje

In their first historic football match on the World Cup, the Raspotochje players won. It sounds amazing when we consider that the opponent is the absolute biggest favorite in our group, HUElavia.
Our players played great and disciplined. Goals for our team were scored by Sunara Bjelova and Nadica Štampar from a free kick.
Women's football is flourishing here in Raspotochje. More and more players from our league have received invitations to play in much stronger leagues, such as the Srednjacian's League. Four players, two of whom are from the first team, play in Srednjaci. Most players are given by the current champion NK Kotiga, but there are also other clubs such as Višnjevac, Dvori and Mladost Kotiga.
Raspotochje is located in group B where Baggieland and Baker Park are also located. The first and most difficult obstacle in our group was overcome.

Given its first historic appearance, the match was watched across the country. A large number of fans arrived in Sazonia to support our players in the suspension performance.

Sarzonia women's national team manager Brenda Allison likely didn't need to remind her charges of the timeless warning employed by multiple Sarzonia sporting managers of the so-called trap match.

The Stars were playing their first match of the inaugural Jenna Raven Cup, also known in the Incorporated Football Federation back offices as the 14th Women's World Cup. They knew they had Banija at home to close out the first half of qualifying and a match away to Banija to close out the group stage. Those two matches would mark the third and fourth meeting of the Sarzonian and Banijan women's football teams, but the fact that both countries frequently played each other seemingly regardless of the sport was not lost on Allison.

However, she knew her team had work to do in the present.

"Tylastrona are going to come in fired up to play their first international match of any kind," Allison said. "We have to be ready to take everything they're gonna throw at us."

Ready they were. Marcé George made six saves and the Stars made the lone goal by Jolene Walter-Campos in the 33rd minute count for Sarzonia's 1-0 victory in front of a crowd of 17,947 at Notttingham Pavilion in Woodstock.

The victory, coupled with a 1-1 draw by Banija and Atheara put the Stars (1-0-0, three points) top of the Group A table, but Allison warned it was too early to think about tables just yet.

"It's one match," she said. "A lot can change over the course of one competition."

She didn't have to remind anyone who was familiar with her team's Wonder Cup journey of that maxim. Her Stars went from barely sneaking into the championship bracket as the seventh of eight seeds to trophy winners with victories in penalties, including one over the Banijan women's national team who would be her team's opponents on Matchdays 3 and 6.

A lot can change. And so much did over the course of that tournament. But for now, Allison and her charges had something to celebrate.

An Uphill Battle

Type: Game Review
Time: ???? Hours after MD 1

Pascafia 2 - 2 Equestria
Hanase Ipora Nanta (23' ; 59') / Unknown (16' ; 78')

2 - 2 is an interesting result, as now Group F has the same situation that Group A has in terms of the table, one team has a 1 - 0 win, while two teams drew and have 1 point each, and another is slounged at the bottom. It was 1 - 1 between Atheara and Banija in Group A, but it was 2 - 2 for us. The game was a showdown between a slightly offensive attack, and a neutral style of play. Hanase would score both goals, as she, at the 23rd minute puts a free kick into the back of the net, and puts a lovely volley past the Equestrian Goalkeeper at the 59th minute.

Sure, Pascafia also conceded two goals, one at the 16th minute by a header from an Equestrian midfielder, and at the 78th minute, where Anela had tackled an Equestrian striker, and let a penalty be given. Of course, Elana didn't save it, as it was 2 - 2. But for their first ever football match, Akena is impressed. It seems as if Pascafia had a good opportunity to continue this good start. Obviously, Akena would help the team focus on defense, as it seems this was Pascafia's weakness. Midfield and Offense were also given good training. Goalkeeping was given the most attention, however it may seem so.

Their next match, was going to be a bit of a ride. As they are going to be playing Sarzoclava, whom yet to announce their roster. But Pascafia decided to swap the Goalkeeper, RB and LB, some of the the Midfield, and Forwards. A Rotation system, it seems. We can only hope this works.
5 Pere Saleno Henari (25 Y/O, GK)
44 Hena Zanazi Lipen (26 Y/O, RB)
85 Anela Istrina Laleya ( 24 Y/O, CB)
21 Inija Kanaro (25 Y/O, CB)
8 Saneya Garantilo (25 Y/O, LB)
35 Lila Sarawi Olare (25 Y/O, DMF, Captain)
99 Ferisa Erantila (25 Y/O, CMF)
48 Fenola Kantari Zairo (27 Y/O, CMF)
73 Yeyani Alamiri Tanta (26 Y/O, CMF)
46 Dina Urafi (25 Y/O, SS)
92 Lani Andari Nata (24 Y/O, CF)

We just hope Pascafia can do something in the sports industry, as Pascafia is only well known for being such a good place for a vacation, their legislative socialist system, and a few other things not worth mentioning. Pascafia wants to be known by sports, so this is the way to do it. We now prepare against Sarzoclava. A tough game was going to be incoming, and everyone knew it.
