Come to the Iris Tank Fest 2021!

The Iris Boarding School Complex and its Sensha-Do Team invites you to this exciting festival and convention of Sensha-Do and Tank Sport on the school grounds near Fortham, taking place on the 29th of June 2021!
And, like every year, we have an exciting itinerary planned: Aside from seeing many historic vehicles in action, including the Historic Fleet of the Binn Boarding School Complex, we have planned a tank biathlon challenge and three gunnery competitions, as well as the premiere of the movie Heart of Steel. A number of other events will take place all over the complex, too, including a small Marcach-Competition and concerts of both the School Orchestra and our house-own Rockband, Gabhála.

And not only us from the Coileáin, but also some of the best teams in the world already announced their presence with vehicles and personell.

Hello and welcome to the Iris Tank Fest 2021!
Conceptually, this is a repeat of 2019's Iris Boarding School Sensha-Do Convention with a nicer title, more experience in this and huge plans (and we don't talk about the 2020-iteration).
So - what is Sensha-Do? Sensha-Do, or Tankery, is the ficticious sport practiced in the anime Girls und Panzer, which is basically a team death match of teams of high schoolers driving around in tanks (although other game modes are shown as well) using mostly vehicles of World War 2 vintage.
And this will be a convention of teams to celebrate the sport, have a few competitions aside from shooting at each other and generally having fun. And of course, there will be more then enough space for enthusiasts of the sports and the vehicles and the history behind them, as well as people, who have never seen a tank before in their life. The options are limitless!
And while the tanks and teams are the main point, the entire school adopted the occassion as a time to have a festival, to show, what they are all about and to show off.

I advise even returnees to read the rules again! There have been some changes since last year.

Speaking of which, sadly, we will need rules:

1. No Godmodding, Meta-Gaming or similar stuff. No exceptions.

1.1. If you believe, that such an instance is occurring, please bring it to attention on this OOC in a calm manner.
1.2. ALL NPCs are controlled by me, mostly due to cultural particularities. No exceptions.
1.3. For convinience, I will play all characters from my nations from this account. For all needing a list and proof...
2. I am the OP, my word is law. I reserve the right to add to this list of rules or to amend rules if necessary.
3. IC on the IC-thread, OOC on the OOC-thread. The OOC-thread is there to be used.
4. Permitted Characters:

4.1. No high government or higher military officials. This is a convention for normal people to enjoy, not a state ball. The highest-ranked military officials are to be at the rank of Colonel/OF-5. No exceptions.
4.2. Keep in mind, that your characters are under the right and law of the Free Lands. That includes a total ban on all firearms in private hands (and your people will be there as private persons, end of discussion). If I catch anyone posting anything about his characters having firearms in any form, he or she will be mauled to death by rabid Tines. And no, there will be no escape. No exceptions.
4.3. The tanks are a different story, but more on them in block 5.
4.4. Appearance of your characters, a.k.a. Valid Passport Photo. Please choose pictures, that are SFW and where your character is easily identifiable. Anime-Pictures are allowed, but are under the same restrictions. You can also write a description of him or her. And it does not have to be a passport photo. Please use a maximum size of 550 by 550 pixels or hotlink and please do not spoiler.
4.5. Non-Humans: Non-Human Humanoids are permitted, the rest is not. No magic (and no, I don't care, what you call it). No exceptions.
4.6. You have to provide an RP-sample (a link to a RP you participated in, from the account you are applying with, showing how you interact with other players, not a post written on the fly) and answer the question “Have you read and understood the rules?” with "Rain... open-topped tank... bloody great engineering." No exceptions.
4.7. No characters or teams from Girls und Panzer. In general, original characters - you can use the pictures of whoever you like (God knows, I do), but the characters themselves need to be original. No exceptions.
5. Teams.

5.1. For the purposes of this ruleset, two definitions:

A Team is defined as an organized group of practitioners of Sensha-Do and their sport equipment (read, their tanks and other vehicles, tools, etc.).
A Delegation is defined as an organized group of practitioners of Sensha-Do without their sport equipment.
5.2. If you want to send a Team, you need to be a member of the region the Strategic and Economic Alliance. No exception.
5.3. Delegations are free for everyone.
5.4. Maximum number of vehicles, including non-combat vehicles: 8. Exceptions maybe be granted on a case-by-case basis, but do not count on it!!! Ask before you do apply with more then eight vehicles and we will talk about it.
5.5. Maximum vintage: Tanks, which were or are in service or prototypes. I will NOT allow PMT- or FT-vehicles. No exceptions.
5.6. Of course, you are very much allowed to bring your own models to this convention (I know, I do) and I would indeed appreciate it very much. However, try to keep it halfway realistic and reasonable and, that's the important part, transportable by train. I would very much prefer it, if there would be no Ratten or other Landships around. No exceptions.
5.7. The Competitions: We will not do this like the nice ladies and gentlemen over on NSSports, but in a less sophisticated manner, which I will decide on and present once I figured it out myself...

Why this is neither on NSSports and why this is a Convention, despite some competitions sprinkled in.
5.8. Allowed are not only tanks, but also IFVs, APCs, weapon's carriers, SPGs, tank destroyers, armoured cars, assault guns and all manners of armoured support and armoured engineer vehicles.
5.9. While the sport is shown as an exclusively female sport in the anime and other media, you would be very much allowed to bring some lads as team members. If you do or don't is up to you. Likewise, your teams do not need to be composed entirely of High Schoolers. I would, however, appreciate it, if your team members were not active members of the military (reservists, cadets, former soldiers are all fine, though).
6. No murders. Violence only if all involved agree to it.

6.1. Security. Will be provided by the Free Lands, if needed by rabid Tine. If you feel the need for your character to have a bodyguard or someone of that kind, it's most likely a break of Rule 4.1.. No exceptions.
7. No military actions, declarations of war or similar stuff. No exceptions.
8. Try to avoid oneliners. I know, that it can't be avoided sometimes, but please put a bit of effort into this RP.
9. If you have questions for me or other players, ask. That's what this OOC is for!
10. The IC will start on the 29th of June. At that point, all of your characters, tanks and so, and so on will already be at the Iris Boarding School Complex and set up for the convention. We don't need to go through the entire rounds of arrival in the Free Lands and transporting everything to Fortham and so on and so on.

That is a very important question regarding Rule 5.4. - the eight vehicles total is meant for all vehicles, including logistics and maintenance vehicles. So, yes, they count towards that limit.
OOC-reason being, that I don't want anyone to flood my country with Armoured Recovery Vehicles ( ; ) ). IC-reason being, that the Iris only got a limited amount of train carts for tank transports and slots for actually moving them around the country and only limited patience with the railway companies.
I'll amend the rule accordingly in a second.

However, PPC, I mention exemptions to Rule 5.4. being possible on a case-by-case basis. How many vehicles would you end up bringing?

Shot answer, no.
You are not a member of SEA, so bringing a team (and your Not!Tiger-crew would count as a Team, see Rule 5.1.) is out of the question (see Rule 5.2.).
However, you can send individual characters (and as many as you want, too, but please keep in mind Rule 4 and all the sub-rules belonging to it) and if they are enthusiasts of the sport, it's even better. Or, if you want to be fancy, you can send a delegation, but the same rules apply there.

The PT-91 is a Prussian-Polish modernization of the T-72 main battle tank, which includes a new fire control system with dual-axis stabilizers, reactive armor, and improved transmissions and engines. It was phased out as part of Prussian-Polish modernization effort, being replaced with Leopard 2A5s and 2PLs, and being relegated mostly to more well-armed and larger milita forces.

The PT-76 is a Soviet reconnissance vehicle and amphibious light tank.

The BRM-1 is a modified BMP-1 intended for combat reconnisance. The MCLOS Malyutka ATGM has been replaced with a far more accurate SACLOS BGM-71 TOW.

The M60A3 is an American Main Battle Tank used in some quantity by Prussia-Poland during and shortly after the end of the Prussian-Polish War of National Liberation. Most examples have since been retired and given to milita units, or are used as training vehicles. It was generally viewed poorly, due to it's lack of protection compared with the PT-91 and later the Leopard 2. The M60s in use with militas have since had composite armor panels added, as well as ERA kits. The same modifications, unless prohibited, will be added to TF Bear's M60s.

There are vehicles already present for transport of parts and other supplies - especially the ammunition will be handled by the SDF-Army (GuP-shells or not, it is still tank ammunition). If you want to bring a few trucks for mechanics, though, go ahead.
