Further to this, option one of this issue now has a doppelganger for nations with autarky.

Hello! I’ve recently got an issue #342- “This land was made for you and me”. It seems to me that is misses one obvious opinion- taking over the land by force. After all it’s not like issues can have references to RL historical events and I guess that the correlation between this and Nazi Lebensraum is obvious,

Another autarky thing, issue #733 talks about bringing in goods to your nation's port from across the globe.

Not quite. It's talking about supplying the ice-locked northern region. It could be national or it could be international. While option one does mention "goods coming across the globe" it is portrayed as a possibility for the future, not a state of being. No need to exclude the issue from autarky nations.

I have doppelganged the first option, however.

Firstly, this thread is not the place to suggest subjective amendments (such as new options) to issues. It is for objective errors with spelling, grammar or punctuation and suspected errors with validities and macros.

However, I will say that issues never aim to cover every potential answer to an issue (that would not be possible). They aim to tell a cohesive story. "This Land Was Made for You and Me" asks what @@LEADER@@ can do when there is no more space within the country and all answers are focused within country. Other issues allow the player to go and annex other nations.

We actually discussed this this time last year when Mengele was satirised in two issues; we decided to replace the reference in one, but kept it in 763. Given the change in team make-up since last year, we can discuss the objection again.

Soon enough we will have a rampant vegetation to offset the loss from free foraging.”

Shouldn't it just be "rampant vegetation", rather than "a rampant vegetation"? I don't think that "a vegetation" is correct - it for sure doesn't sound right to me at all.

I’ve recently got issue #1365 “Balancing the Box”. Now, I have multiple problems with the issue, the first of them is that the title says that “A number of people have been imprisoned for failing to pay the license fee” This wouldn’t have been an issue but I clearly remember receiving #500 “Please Don't Feed The (Copyright) Trolls” and choosing option 3 which rids the nation clear of any sort of copyright law. I also remember receiving #603 “Not My Idea” and choosing option 2 further confirming my wish to clear my nation of any sort of copyright law. Still, for some reason, my people are getting fined for failing to pay license fee. Either I’m getting something wrong or we have a problem here.

However, a far more obvious problem is with option 4 which is voiced by “billionaire media mogul RuPaul Murmarina, the owner of…”. Billionaire. Media Mogul. Owner of @@ANIMAL@@ news. In a socialist state. Might REALLY need a doppelgänger for socialist nations.

Coming back to this, the Editing team discussed your objection and have decided to leave the issue as is.

The character in question is a highly unethical and criminal character who wishes to perform experiments on unwilling, live humans. Sadly, this is something that has been done throughout history, most notably by Mengele - indeed in the medical community (and likely larger afield) the name Mengele has become a byword for such serious ethical abuses, so we think it's an appropriate reference for this particular issue.

However references are only appropriate while they remain relevant, and the team does feel that re-using Mengele in further issues or options, regardless of the character, would definitely weaken the reference or diminish it, which we want to avoid. Some people may be unfamiliar with Mengele and having the name in the issue might encourage people to google it and learn about this dark individual (stranger things have happened from things in issues).

Got a #139 “Drug Debate hits the streets”, opinion 1 has this sentence: “I need to smoke! And sometimes I need to roll a little bit more than tobacco.”. The problem here is that I have a no-smoking policy enabled. Maybe needs a doppelgänger.

In this case, the validity is right. This issue is specifically for nations that banned smoking.

Issue 655, option 2 says "Dr Maurice Zaius" omitting the . after "Dr". The Dr. in option 1 correctly includes the period. Oddly enough, the spoiler thread at the top of this forum says there is a period after the Dr in option two, but it is not showing up for me in game.

Omitting the period may be more common in British English, although we should be consistent within an issue. Since this is inconsistent, I will go ahead and add the period.

Issue 868 option 3 says "I don’t want to risk losing my supply of Brancalandian goose down coats over this!" which goes against my nation's Autarky policy, but on top of that, it probably isn't tracked, but in another issue I answered to make animal based clothing illegal.
