BUG - Trading Cards Market system allows outrageous bids

Bidding far higher than the ask on a card should trigger a warning or a denial of the transaction.

A 1 Credit card just turned into 55 credits because I didn’t get a decimal in the right place.

This would have been thrown out by any sane stock brokerage firms computer or much any auction house system.

If I went on eBay and I bid $5000 on a pair of $25 dollar socks their fraud team would cancel the sale and I’d have a very long phone call of explaining why my keyboard added too many zeros when I tried to bid $50.

EDIT: Let me also further add that when I execute a stock trade even if I punch in a $50 bid on shares running $25 the brokerage is going to give me the shares at the current best asking price on the exchange.

So how does a card listed for 0.55 suddenly turn into a 27 credit transaction on a 55 credit typod bid? That’s asinine, no brokerage or eBay would process a transaction in such an arbitrary way.

They're dealing with read money and real consequences. Card sales have fake money and no consequences. If someone wants to undersell or overpay for a card, there are no rules against it.

I’m not expecting the money to come back.

But I literally by no fault of my own manipulated the price of my trading card by a large scale too.

On eBay you can retract a bid for a half hour.

On a stock exchange the brokerage firm executes at best price, regardless of the order if the best routing is used (this is typically default because PEBCAK can easily happen in high volume trading)

There should be ability to back out a matched bid for a minute or two to fix a typo or correct an error, it’s not hard to make a bid retraction screen like eBay.

So those getting cuckoldish about Max, he can very well afford to add this and other polishing touches to the trading card game for an upcoming season as he has to make new stuff each season anyway (assets and some code probably)

I don’t card farm and I don’t do unusual transfers, I just buy back my own cards and keep them at a peg price around 1.25 unless people push them higher.

it’s not hard to make a bid retraction screen like eBay.

It's probably also not hard to provide a tool that backs you out of your issue choices ... but we don't provide one because a core tenet of the game is that "actions have unexpected consequences". You found one of those consequences.
