January 20, 1990
Meeting Room of the Falthonian Communist Party

The Generals of the Army, Navy and Air Force, together with the Ministers of Propaganda and External Affairs, meet with Wanth Grissford to talk about the increasing protests in Falthonia.

"So I welcome all of you to our meeting!", Wanth Grissford starts the meeting.

"This place is so dirty, why don't we have a meeting in the Grand Palace?", the Minister of Propaganda complains to Grissford.

"We need to have meetings at secret, since there might be an assassination attempt at me.", Wanth Grissford says at a scared tone.

"Of course, our leader, a place this secret is the best at this period of time.", General Ulrich Monar praises, as he pulls his pistol from his hip, aiming at Grissford.

"WOAH, wait, don't aim that at me, I am sure that is just a jo...joke, r...right?, Grissford nervously saying it, while the Guards arrive at the spot.

"This is no joke, our leader. You abused your power for your own. You tried to write your name in the books of history and you failed. At your inauguration, you promised a better Falthonia, and you failed. You tried to exert control to the people, and you failed, and now, you will fail to escape death.", Ulrich prepares to fire, but was shot first by one of the guards.

"HAHAHAHAHA, see. This is what happens to you, the traitors of the Commune! No one can stop me, even if I fail.", Grissford gets crazy while looking at the dying Ulrich, which then pulls another thing, but now, a switch, then presses it with his last words......

" Goodbye, Wanth Grissford.", the bomb below the table explodes, killing everyone in the room and injuring some outside the building.

In a nearby rooftop, Peter Rethania reports what happened to Wels Priponsk," Operation Successful. The end of communism in Falthonia is now near.".

With the Falthonian Democratic Party getting control of the Falthonian State TV station, Wels Priponsk sits in a chair, papers at his hand, and a new flag behind him. His assistants in his side, the camera start playing live to all televisions in Falthonia.

" At 16:23 Falthonian Standard Time, Wanth Grissford, together with his ministers and his generals, died from an explosion blast by our heroic general that sacrificed his life to assassinate the communist dictator. From now on, we are a new and free nation, and thus, I, Wels Priponsk, leader of the Falthonian Democratic Party, will swear to serve, protect and guide the new Federal Republic of Falthonia. I promise a new, better future for all of us Falthonians."

At the Grand Palace, the ministers of Wanth Grissford swear their loyalty to the new Federal Republic of Falthonia, and at 00:00 Falthonian Standard Time, at January 21, 1990, the flag of the Falthonian Commune was brought down, and the new Federal Republic of Falthonia is raised, as millions celebrated this historic event. The Monarchist Party, after realizing the democrats succeeded, the Monarchists fled to Zurich and stay there until the perfect time arrives where they will save Falthonia. Stores start to give away goods for people to have something to celebrate with. Fireworks bought by Falthonians lit the night sky. The first thing Wels Priponsk announces after becoming the First Prime Minister is the institution of the freedom of speech and media, and the separation got he military into more branches. The people, after hearing this, celebrated until nearly 10 million Falthonians were estimated to have woke up at midnight to celebrate the new republic. The Police celebrated with the citizens and drank beer that night. In the morning, the Falthonians put the new flag in front of their doors. The new Government, that day also started their exporting of oil and natural gas to other countries. New ambassadors to other countries are now being sent to nations to build relations with them. The Government also declared January 21 as "Freedom Day" at calendars. A new era for Falthonia begins....
GLORY TO FALTHONIA!!!!

JUST PLAYING NS FOR FUN!

Falthonian Prime Minister Adrian Priponsk

Dead Men Tell No Tales

The state funeral for Miguel Reale was a small private affair as was custom. The funeral however would be little more than another step in the grand chess game that had pit rooks against knights in a race for the king. Tavares and Bolsonaro sat silently before the closed casket that held Reales decaying body as Catholic hymns lightly floated through the church rafters. Lider Melo was no where to be found but that did not seem to matter to the two stalwart men. In truth, Melo had remained at the Presidential Palace as he inhaled oxygen into his lungs for the last time. A man of justice had been assassinated, a dictator lied dead in a puddle of urine, and all that remained was an inexperienced agent and a decaying general. The hymns would die out slowly over the course of multiple hours as the chapel emptied of the few mourners that had come to pay respects to the magistrate until only Taveras and Bolsonaro remained.

Bolsonaro spoke up to the his rival in a soft and exhausted voice.

"Melo is dead..."

Taveras slowly nodded his aging face and respond in a similar cadence, almost like a song bird replying to a mate.

"So I have heard... Long live the Kingmakers..."

"Long live the Kingmakers..."

The next day, the death of Lider Márcio de Sousa e Melo was announced to Brazil and the world as a whole. An immediate period of national mourning would occur as crowds clad in black would march through Rio and Sao Paulo carrying black banners and portraits of Salgado and Melo. These mourners would advance onto The Presidential Palace where they would expect to hear an address from the entire national leadership. The mourners did not have to wait long as Bolsonaro and Taveras stepped out onto the terrace along with other office members and clergy men. Taveras leaned into the microphone and began to give a speech.

"I will not speak long on the tragedies that have occurred over the past week. Yesterday, we had just finished burying Miguel Reale as we learned of the death of Lider Márcio de Sousa e Melo. Let there be solace in the fact that the Lider died peacefully in his bed surrounded by those who loved him and fully confident in his faith. He will look down at us from the great heavens above for the rest of eternity. His memory and the memory of Salgado and all of the great Integralists who have died for this nation by continuing on to fully realize the vision of the lord above. The Lider is dead, long live The Lider!"

Taveras would step back from the microphone as Bolsonaro would step forward closer to the railing of the balcony. One of the clergy members would walk forward with a blue and white sash representing the power of the Lider. The clergyman gently placed the sash upon the body of the young Bolsonaro as the mourners cheered and saluted the man before them. Taveras would likewise salute Balsonaro. Power had been secured yet the full truth of the event had yet to be fully realized.

Sao Tome

Since the occupation of Sao Tome and Principe, the islands had become a staging point for Brazillian convoys moving throughout the Atlantic ocean. The outside observer would see these convoys as nothing more than vessels tasked with the moving of raw materials and goods bought in Southern Africa. The truth of the situation is that the island had become a super highway for the smuggling of small arms, ammunitions, uniforms, and food rations destined for the inner hills of Angola. The majority catholic and Portuguese speaking nation had always had deep roots with The Brazillian State due to its shared culutral identity and as such early Integralists like Salgado saw the region as a major asset. A small, dedicated, and popular Integralist base had been built with the nations many villages and cities yet the politcs of Republic quickly halted the growth and expansion of this movement. In response to this, Lider Melo had introduced a policy of utilizing integralist politicians within Angola as pawns to allow for the smuggling of military equipment and Brazilian officers deep into the Angolan hills. The true nature of the Sao Tome invasion was to create easier access to Angola for these programs. Lider Bolsonaro intends to finally complete Salgados mission.

Start of a new beginning, January 1990

With the wall fallen and the months of partying leading into Christmas and the New Year ushering a wave of peace, pacifism, and a move into the new age, the old men of the People's Assembly had congregated together for the last time in 1989, and had settled in new changes that begun right at the end of the year after Christmas, with it to be a massive matter at hand with the borders between the German sides taken apart, with a new, gigantic surplus at hand of unnecessary equipment, and a new budget to use for the next few years. The Assembly had decided on a large, but simple matter which they could use to benefit others while disarming their forces, to aid in the reformation and ushering of the new era, which is laid out in various, winding plans.

Firstly, is Operation Yuletide, their answer to the West German problem amongst the mostly incompatible supplies and armaments: loading the cargo onto planes and sea craft, as well as re-crewing as many of the West German naval force that they can in the span of a couple of weeks with skeleton crews, and prepping the to-be decommissioned Moskva and Kiev-class carriers for their final mobilization underneath Osteuropean forces, a large fleet begins its arduous course underneath new ownership in the Southeastern Asian territory of the MDF. In what may be one of the largest, non-wartime movements of military equipment, Osteurope departs dozens of state owned cargo ships of varying sizes, escorted by a mostly civilian crewed fleet of 8 Bremen-class frigates, 3 Lutjens and 4 Hamburg-class destroyers, alongside almost 40 fast attack craft as well as the former Osteuropean carrier crafts which were replaced by the more modern alternatives such as the Kherson and Adler carriers, all sent alongside to both guard and join the fleet of support ships in sending the MDF literal boatloads of West German firearms, armor, helicopters, as well as aircraft, having no need for their equipment and deciding to send it off to them as a gift of good faith: that their form of socialism would ring true both across the world, and soon across Osteuropa as peace began to bloom!

Second on the board, as the matter of disarmament comes firstly to West Germany, would be Operation Olive Dove, dealing with the neighbors: with the unrest on all borders, it's believed to the assembly that Osteuropa's very intimidating presence in the region may be to blame, as well as the various opposing ideologies in the area amidst the union. Thus, as further push back off of the borders, the Osteuropean military command is forcibly ordered to withdraw at least 70-80% of their presence off of the border, and to leave it to the combination of the Union Guards, the state-loyal military whom are a special branch of the armed forces, taking only orders from the People's Assembly, and with auxiliary and further support from the Citizen's Forces, the various state-ran militia and police forces across Osteuropa whom are called upon as a paramilitary force to keep things in check: the military's close ties to GEHIRN, and their clandestine efforts, underchecked power amidst the research and military bureaus, and sometimes divisive beliefs, leaves them untrustworthy to the defense of border security, and that "true patriots, not young goons" are to be the ones whom should defend the nation's borders. Along with the new peacetime border presence, the Osteuropean borders are willing to be opened, giving the Baltic kingdom above Poland and the Gauls the chance to take it, and open their borders both to trade and travel between one another, and to try and take a first step to put aside this decades long conflict between cold-shouldered enemies. At the same time, they try to usher in hopeful peace with other international nations, namely the new republic to their south, and the central African empire which had declared them a sort of hostile threat against their sovereignty, gently regarding the fact that they are not imperialists like their former rulers or the Russians which had terrorized Osteuropa before their defeat at their hands in the early 60's.

And finally, the operation most agreed to the People's Assembly as "an endeavor well needed for almost 3 decades of terror and dread across the union", the plan known as Operation Freedom Rays, in regards to the GEHIRN super-group which had seemingly burrowed itself across almost every facet outside the Assembly and had sometimes left them powerless in some sectors: the Assembly for years couldn't believe that their own biggest burden wouldn't be their own original agency, but as time went on, the group drifted away into more private control, leaving Osteuropa to try and find different ways to cope and adjust to their true major enemy which laid within their own borders. To combat this however, they decided that to fight the underhanded ones would require to raise a hand to their level: mailed across the nations after New Year's Day, were pamphlets and folders, with forms labelled as, in the Assembly documents, "Notices of Liberation": forms in which the People's Assembly calls upon citizens and GEHIRN accomplices/informants to either reveal their allegiances, or to write up and report local GEHIRN agents, as a means to try and take census and tally whom works for whom, and how they can deal with these problems if the time comes, as well as how they can try to dismantle, using the info they gathered amongst people whom sign: those who do accept and work alongside the proper state authorities are subject to better benefits from the state, possible rewards for additional matters, as well as various other boons for their cooperation with their Assembly partisans.

For now however, as the weeks had passed since this meeting, the ships of the first stage of Yuletide had finally reached into the Indian Ocean with little to no issues, Olive Dove having finally moved newer, less well equipped militia and paramilitary to the borders, which the state forces the military to keep in check for the time being, and Freedom Rays having revealed a decent amount of GEHIRN informants and agents whom weren't recorded before, it is safe to say that by February 1st on Unification day, the 34th year of the union, things will change for the better of Europe, and soon, old wounds will heal while parasites will be cleansed out from the bowels of the continent.

Castille

December 28, 1989

The coronation of an Emperor. The end of a national period of mourning ended on the morning of December 28, when a new Emperor would be crowned. They would inherit a majestic empire, and become one of the most powerful people on the planet. With great power comes great responsibility. They would also inherit the issues, such as the rising influence of communism, or how best to advance Castille's foreign interests. It would be a happy occasion.

The morning of December 28 would be the big day. As Castillaña around Castille began to wake up, a sombre feel seemed to permeate the entirety of the Empire. There was no national mourning for Mikael, but it seemed the Castillaña were mourning something else. The imprisonment without trial of Prince Hanyad; the authoritarian Ramirez rising to the throne. Perhaps they were worrying, worrying of the future, both theirs and their descendants. This world would feel this day's effects for years to come.

"Do you swear to uphold the values of Castille, protect the Kingdom, and serve Castille above all?" asked the Keeper of Castille, an entirely ceremonial position made for these occasions.

"I swear," uttered the new Emperor.

January 19, 1990

Ramirez had not waited to start stamping his legacy on the world. He immediately started to talk with senior defence personnel on the possibility of controlling the Mediterranean. Specifically, he wanted Tangier and surrounds , as well as Gibraltar. This would give Castille complete control of one major entry and exit point of the Mediterranean. He authorised the drafting of battle plans. Not a month in office, and he was already preparing for war...

Tokyo, Japan
Prime Minister's Office
January 5, 1990

Ministers and military leaders sat clustered in the war room as information about the West German arms transfer was revealed by European press and Japanese intelligence services. Prime Minister Nazaki listened as Navy Minister Aioi briefed the room of the situation.

"Gentlemen, our intelligence suggests Osteuropa is sending around 70-100 naval vessels and other armaments to the Mutual Development Federation. The armaments and most of the naval vessels are less consequential than the carriers that are being sent. It is our belief that most of this equipment is relatively dated, and the MDF will not have enough men or the training to crew these weapons in less than 6 months. These are completely foreign systems after all. It is the carriers which represent the greatest threat to us. In general, if we were to engage in our planned operation, these weapons would not see use until later on. However these carriers would mean increased offensive capabilities of the MDF." Aioi paced about the room towards the map.

"It is crucial that we do not allow these carriers though. But our options are limited Surface engagement is out of the question. The MDF has total control of those straits leading out to the Pacific Ocean. I am aware of the Minister of Foreign Affair's plan to issue a demand that these ships be sent back, but it is possible they will reject this. We have three possible options. Firstly would be to launch a long range airstrike on the fleet to target the carriers. However it is likely the planes would be detected quickly by the MDF. Our second option would be to strike the ships once they arrive in port, however there they will be protected and our action would amount to an act of war. Our last option is an attack below the surface, utilizing our submarine forces. This is risky, but if successful, will ensure our security. All we need is the carriers sunk to be safe from the offensive elements of this transaction."

Army Minister Hayashi shook his head. "Won't the carriers be under escort? I am not a Navy specialist, but believe they will be at the center of the fleet."

Aioi nodded. "Yes. We are dependent in that scenario that our submarines avoid detection and are able to fire while in the middle of the convoy. It will be complicated, but intelligence suggests the ships are not fully crewed, and most aren't crewed by actual navy personnel. Hitting them at sea is our best option to avoid open war with either nation."

Nazaki nodded in agreement. "Have you considered a low-yield nuclear strike on the fleet to wipe out the carriers?"

Aioi handed him a file from the table. "Sir we have run our projections on a nuclear strike from one of our bombers. It is unlikely they will go undetected and thus will not work. We have however been considering use of a nuclear torpedo. One would be able to wipe out the enemy fleet, but the resulting tsunami will head towards land, creating a even worse incident."

Nazaki pounded his fist. "Then it seems our only option will be to sink them via submarine. How many assets do we have in the region?"

Aioi gestured to the map and placed down markers. "We believe the hostile fleet is still quite some distance away. We have 3 submarine assets in the Indian Ocean and surrounding areas. The Uzushio, Akishio, and Okishio are what we have at ready. They will be able to engage with our Type 89 torpedoes and Type 88 anti-ship missiles."

Nazaki cautiously nodded. "Relay orders to their captains. They are to sight the Osteuropean forces and monitor them at a distance. If they enter within 100 miles of MDF territory, they have permission to engage. Carriers are the primary targets. Other combat vessels are secondaries. Our subs are not to engage MDF forces directly unless fired upon. Have our forces move to increased alert and have our naval forces on standby in case our submarine attempt fails. I want contingency plans if they retaliate, and plans to strike the carriers if they reach port."

Aioi waved an aide over whom rushed to phone Imperial General Headquarters.

A cabinet member stood. "Sir consider the implications, we will technically be firing on Osteuropean ships. If they and the MDF retaliate we could be in trouble. Sir remember the Osteuropeans possess nuclear weapons."

Nazaki shook his head. "This is our best option. While in international waters and without a MDF crew is the best way to avert all out war. I highly doubt the Osteuropeans will want to fight a far away war like this one, much less launch nuclear weapons over the MDF. They know we have options to retaliate."

Hayashi gave a small grin. "If the Osteuropeans are smart, they will turn around and we will not have to worry about this issue, and can go back to our current operational planning. I am fully confident that they will not retaliate with nuclear weapons even if we launched this strike. However we should be prepared. I suggest we raise our alert and have at least 10 of our Nakajima G10N-Kai nuclear bombers loaded and on standby at all times.

Nazaki gave a nod of approval. "See to it that is arranged. I can only hope that the Osteuropeans reverse course before they force our hand."

Across the nation, the military moved towards increased alert as naval commanders scrambled to prepare their forces to launch at a moments notice. Army Air Force planes had increased patrols and air commanders moved to ready their squadrons for defense of the home islands.

Statement of the Imperial Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs
1990.01.05

The Empire of Japan has recently been made aware of vast quantities of West German arms as well as naval ships being transported to the Pacific by Osteuropean forces. These weapons all destined for the hostile regime in the Mutual Development Federation. Preliminary intelligence suggests as many as 100 naval vessels and hundreds of millions of dollars worth of equipment are being "gifted" to the socialist regime in the Southern Pacific.

Such blatant aggression towards our peaceful Empire has not gone unnoticed. The actions by the regime in Osteuropa only seek to inflame tensions in the region, and make peace settlement impossible. To cultivate friendship among nations and to enjoy prosperity in common with all nations, has always been the guiding principle of our Empire's foreign policy. To ensure the stability of East Asia and to contribute to world peace is the far-sighted policy which was formulated by Our Great Illustrious Imperial Grandsire, and has been followed ever since.

The Empire of Japan demands that this transaction end, and all naval vessels and transports from Osteuropa return back to their home ports to prevent hostilities between our great Empire and the Mutual Development Federation. Without, our Empire will have no other recourse but to take appeal to arms and to crush every obstacle in its path. Our Empire, for its existence and self-defense will take action if this shipment is delivered.

His Holiness the Emperor urges Osteuropa and the Mutual Development Federation to consider the effects of its actions and for the preservation of peace cease its activities.
A proud Conservative.

[UNITED NORTHERN ISLANDS GOVERNMENT-SECURE WEB CHAT: CORE WORKING GROUP – OP RESOLUTE II]

[0817] NYBORG, Anna [Office of the Federal Presidency]
Morning all! Please see overnight briefing notes below compiled from satellite intel, GHQ data and Insights team below on latest situations we’ve been asked to monitor.

Africa – Rhodesian manoeuvres extended into Mozambique. High chance of Cat 2 destabilisation. Recommend reaching out quietly to allies about possibility of URGENTLY passing a nonaggression resolution and looking at assembling multilateral peacekeeping force. Please do so SENSITIVELY. Also increase monitoring of Somalia situation and retain open offer of defence advice to their govt.

Europe and Middle East – Falthonian coup outcome remains unsettled. Offer election observers, issue public statement calling for free and fair elections at earliest opportunity, reach out through Embassy to reps of both new and old regime to discuss their interests. Energy security now also in question. Recommend we URGENTLY push Osteuropa on oil and gas partnership. Also chatter of a naval donation to MDF. RNS Scimitar remains on ops in region. If both powers consent, send Osteuropa to observe handover – good to strengthen links with both militaries. Meanwhile, Livonia and Samland continue to claim their nuclear programme is for power only. Unconvinced. Recommend active intelligence gathering.

Americas – Brazil internal politics remains in crisis. As to North America, RNS Maven requesting permission currently to dock and refuel at San Diego. Will monitor.

[0823] BELLEROPHON, Jamie [Office of States and Regions]
Thanks A. Some regional security implications here that recommend we advise states of through civil defence. Also exit polls just in for regional elections. At federal level Socialist position remains secure and popular but there will be some upsets in state legislatures. Christian-Liberal coalition in Azores, Christian-Farmers coalition in North British Islands. Ones to watch.

[0830] BUNDU, Lt Gen Edward [Defence Headquarters]
Even with the recent fleet upgrades you’re at risk of overstretching us. We can’t very well protect Med oil convoys, extend reach in Asia, potentially contribute to interventions across the African continent and continue with freedom of nav missions. Political side needs to pick priorities please and we’ll deliver them.

[0833] STERN, Kim [Office of the Federal Presidency]
We’re doubling funding to RESOLUTE. The point is to project influence and inspire multilateral action. No one is starting ten wars on a whim here.

[0835] BUNDU, Lt Gen Edward [Defence Headquarters]
Yes but life has a way of presenting unexpected circumstances. Intelligence can do everything you’ve requested of it. Navy can as well for now but NO MORE without calling up reserves or winding down existing ops. Army needs a more diversified insertion plan before we can commit to anything big. Not prepared to put all our eggs in two aircraft carriers.

[0839] NYBORG, Anna [Office of the Federal Presidency]
We know where you’re coming from Ed. And you know what’s best for your men. If it’s resources that’s the problem, Treasury can extend the credit line. But you pushed for RESOLUTE as did I. There’s big changes afoot and if we want to make it into the 21st Century in one piece we need to either preserve existing norms or start defining them.

[0840] SECRETARIAT [Operation RESOLUTE Support Team]
President wants us all in at 1100 stat please

January 16th, 1989.
9:01 AM.
Continental Board’s Office.

For many, the scene before the Chairman would be one of fiction. 400 of some of the brightest minds the Technate had to offer were gathered in one place, a faceless audience illuminated under the vast construction of the Continental Board’s Office. 400 Minds, which composed the core governing body of the Technate. A collective consciousness with a broad spectrum of talents. 800 Eyes, all of which were turned towards him, surrounding him. Isolating him. Millions more watched and listened to from their screens, or radios. A sensation that would make most cower in fear. Though, since his ascension to the Chair, it was one that he was more than used too. The glint from his glasses hid his eyes from most of the crowd, though with a faint smile on his lips, he was analyzing the faces closest to him. Their features defining themselves as he focused his attention on each one, only to fade away once more as he turned his gaze elsewhere, the mob returning to a near anonymity even with their name tags before their seats. An attentive silence held firm in the Continental Board, before being broken by the Chairman himself.

“Today I come before you to speak directly, and frankly, to the men and women of the Continental Board.”

A brief, dry swallow. Even if he had become used to it, what he was about to ask did lead to a certain anxiety springing up in his throat.

“The North American Technate has come far since our inception. We not only have fully repaired our society but have completely transformed it. A brief analysis, when compared to the rest of the world, will show that our living standards are among the top of the world. Our technology remains at the forefront, as probes further push the bounds of explored space, and we continue to discover new theories and solutions back on Earth. The Rust Belt has been revitalized, as fossil fuels are rapidly declining in the face of renewables and nuclear energy. The Dollar has been banished. We are historical anomaly, an experiment that has yet to be corrupted. But as we know. time only goes forward, and we are forced to follow.”

The silence remained. Analytical, emotionless faces remained directed at the Chairman.

“What I am about to say is something we all already know, but take it as a strict reminder. We can no longer ignore the world around us. Although we are self-sufficient, having the convenience of geographic location to aid us in our endeavors, we must not forget that there are other powerful entities that are all too willing to turn our efforts to dust. Those of nations, and those who may have a grasp within our own territory. Not only that, but ever since the cessation of hostilities with the Remnants, they remain a threat to our western flank. We have already put measures in place to ensure our citizens’ security and safety, but we still cannot rely only on ourselves now. The North American Technate, as it is, is a nucleus. A nucleus for a better future, for all, and we must tread carefully to retain that path.“

Opinions were voiced silently in the minds of the Board. They were aware of their position, but where will this be taken? They were not entirely sure.

“It is because we have proven our strength now, that we should extend our hand out to the world. The North American Technate faces many struggles ahead, but with you, the best we have to offer, I am certain we can come out of each one of them even stronger. But we must not be reckless. As we have achieved a balance within our own economy, we must achieve balance with the world. Therefore, we must break the tradition of American Isolationism. Yes, it may seem we are simply taking up the mantle of our predecessor, but to find ourselves in a position of strength when conflict inevitably arrives at our doorstep will be infinitely better than being weak and unprepared. Across the globe, wars are already springing up. Tensions are rising in the Pacific while Southern Africa has already begun it's own conflcits. We all know what will inevitably arise from these. Leaders will grow bold, spotting opportunity, and strike as they see fit. It is up to us to give them no such opportunity, so we may live to see the completion of our Technate, and the safety of our citizenry.”

A once levelheaded, emotionless speech gained an emotional edge to it. For as highly as they prized logic, the Chairman and the Continental Board are still human. Emotion still appealed to them.

“My proposal is simple in description, but far reaching and vast in execution. We must devote more energy to our military apparatus. Our defense networks, on the ground and in space shall be expanded. Our offensive capacity will be further expanded and ready. We shall establish diplomatic relations with the powers of the world, shall they come to us, or we come to them. Ideology not concerning us. Further resources will be devoted to our already vast research base, with emphasis being placed on the biological and medical fields. Of course, there are other actions to be taken to make sure we retain balance, though I have already taken up much of your time. Copies of Proposal 1260-A have been provided at each one of your desks. The benefits will outweigh the costs overall, and I can only hope you consider the proposal in full. Together, as one entity, the Technate can and will be remembered in history for the remarkable things it has accomplished, and that starts today. We shall lead the way of discovery, sustainability, and security for our people, and the world. Thank you.”

The Chairman gave a nod, before receding from the light, back to his desk.

Later that day, Proposal 1260-A would pass with a majority vote of 356-44. Orders have been passed down, namely to the Institute of State Security, the Corporation of Defense, the Corporation of Industry and Citizen Relations, the Research and Development Board of the Technate, and Institute of American Continuity. Within the week, Naval and Air Assets along the East Coast were subject to minor reorganization, as orders for vehicles such as warships and fighters came from the Corporation of Defense to the Corporation of Industry. The Institute of State Security saw an expansion of it's resource allocation, as the Corporation of Citizen Relations reorganized it's work scheduling and energy distribution. Online, rumors are already springing up from the citizenry. Many anticipate a new war, while others figure there is an ongoing refit of the Technate's Military. In the colder north, a list of experiments and constructions that were once deferred further and further into the future were all greenlighted under the Institute of American Continuity. The already active Continental Space Administration was further energized with new launch orders of satellites. Finally, diplomatic channels were opened up with the rest of the world, ending a 15 year period of silence that engulfed much of the continent. The machine of the North American Technate slowly groans to life, with the Continental Board and it's Chairman at it's helm. Where it shall be taken shall depend on if the world further slips into madness, or if sound reasoning prevails among the politicians of the world.

Operation Brotherhood

The heat of the Namib dessert in Angola assaulted the city, aptly named, Namibe in Southern Angola. The city, for the past 20 years, had been a hot spot of Catholic and Integralist activity along with other southern cities such as Benguela, Huambo, and Lumbango. A native, by the name of Jonas Savimbi became a figurehead of The Angolan Integralist Movement (AIM) during the late 1960s and into the early 1970s. He would argue passionately in favor of the creation of a spiritual state much in the visage of Salgados Brazil. The movement would go on to dominate the southern portion of the independent Angolan state which featured a harsh environment of lowland desserts, mountains, and woodlands. The hardships that the southern Angolan people faced made them incredibly receptive to Brazilian foreign aid over the years as well as to the good works of The Catholic Church. Savimbi would often joke that the southern Angolans had a level of bravery and gall that was much lacking in the north which held the capital of Angola. The capitol itself would be in a state of constant turmoil as communist and democratic leaders would preach the morality of Satan against the true believers of Angola who would send their own politicians to the north who would carry the blue flag of Integralism with them. It was becoming incredibly clear that Integralism would not succeed in Angola on a prayer but rather with the sword of Christ.

The first Brazilian trained officers and men would land in southern Angola, without alerting the northern authorities, in 1980 under a plan to develop an Integralist paramilitary wing that was designed by former Lider Marcio and Jonas Savimbi. Since that moment, southern Angola would become the target of intense military recruitment, gun smuggling, political activism, demographic change, and power brokering. These efforts were successfully in creating a standing army of 40,000 men between the ages of 15 and 30 who had nothing but the fullest support in Integralist policies and ideals. Many of these men would adopt the phrase "Anaue" as a greeting which had been developed by Brazilian Integralists as a word effectively meaning "brotherhood and unity.". These men would be trained by Brazilian officers and military scientists in the art of guerrilla and conventional warfare. They would be shown extensively how to operate most circulated military rifles and side arms along with explosives and artillery pieces. This was done due to the vast array of weaponry that a general AIM soldier could be asked to carry and operate. The recent occupation of Sao Tome allowed for the beginning stages of moving larger military equipment such as MBTs and modern artillery pieces into the nation through cities like Namibe. The stages for war were rapidly being set and it seemed as though the north knew it as well.

Integralist supporters in the north rapidly began to spill into the south and vice versa as tensions continued to escalate between all sides. The Brazilian leadership, now fully under the reign of Balsanaro had begun to draw up plans for initial engagement with the states official military. In Brazil, a 50,000 man expeditionary force had begun preparing for departure to the Nambian coast where the plan was to quickly cut north into southern Angola and provide support to AIM militants following the first few weeks of direct combat. The AIM would be expected to make rapid initial advancements in the north and east under the command of Brazilian brass and Jonas Savimbi. The AAF1, now back in Sao Tome, would also be prepared along with Atlantic Strategic Fleet 1 (ASF1) to engage in Naval warfare around the Angolan coast immediately at the onset of the war. ASF1 make up includes two Niteroi class frigates, 3 Tupi class submarines, and 2 Anzu class minesweeper ships. AIM militants would also begin the rapid militarization of the south by setting up road checkpoints, defensive positions, anti aircraft placements, light artillery placements, and the laying of extensive IED networks throughout many roadways and chokepoints. The placement of these measures would be largely based on documents and accepted knowledge about the military practices of the north that had been relayed by Integralist informants and politicians. The fuse had been set, all that was needed was a spark.

Insurgency

The night air of the Namid dessert was silent as the AAF1 and ASF1 moved closer to the Angolan coast. The primary goal for the two fleets would be to set up a virtual blockade of the nation and cripple its naval capabilities. This would be achieved by deploying the three Tupi class submarines to the nearby waters of Luanda where it was rumored a large number Torpedo Ships would be docked at one of the lightest defended naval bases in the world. These submarines would be tasked with entering the coastal water (expected depth is 71 meters based on the little info I could find over a ten minutes research period, should be capable to operate in those waters) and unleashing a torpedo barrage against the docked torpedo boats. Sonar would be utilized to keep open eyes for the the existence of mines however the bays use by shipping vessels would make the active mining of the bay unlikely. The submarines made there approach and would find six openly docked torpedo boats in the bay. The submarines were armed with a full stock of 14 torpedoes each with enough destructive power to sink every ship in the bay and leave within 30 minutes. The sound of the torpedoes sheering into the metal hulls of the torpedo boats and the impending explosion of water and debris would echo throughout the helpless city. Several minutes after one torpedo, a second, a third, a fourth, a fifth... each one ripping and throwing bits of metal and decking across the bay. The war had begun with cacophony of sound in the north as the submarines quickly left the bay and back into open waters. The Angolan Navy had been crippled by a swift first strike by The Brazilian Navy as things heated up in the south.

The commanding officers of AIM along with Jonas Savimid would receive radio confirmation of the attack in the north from the Brazilian Navy, green lighting an initial strike to create forward momentum against the enemy. A force of 10 thousand AIM infantry, aided by technical and other light motorized elements, would be tasked with pushing up on several highways. Column A made of 2,500 men would advance north on the EN 140 before cutting a slant through to the village of Mungo. Column B made of 2,500 soldiers would advance north on the EN250 until reaching Bailundo at which point they will cut east to meet up and create a front line with Column A. Column C, made up 5,000 soldiers, would cut north along a connecting road between the village of Garrido to the village of Binde at which point they would cut west along the the EN250 to rapidly take Balombo and Cateque. Another 5k insurgents would be used to fill in the gaps and holes created along the front as the men advanced. This maneuver was done in hopes of pushing the front forward in a rapid attack as well as creating a westward flank on the much larger population center of Lobito where the majority of loyalist forces were expected to be stationed. January 25, 1990

As the people, police and military help clean the streets after four days of celebration, the new Falthonian Government finished talking for the future of Falthonia.

Firstly, the institution of a free trade is implemented, hoping that it could repair its economy with it. As more and more oil is being produced, we will open to all the selling of oil. The Government hopes that this could possibly help in making relations to other nations.

Secondly, the Government passed the Military Modernization Law. Up to now, most of the equipment used by the Falthonian Army are from the 1940s, mostly from the lend-lease of the Soviets. The navy's carriers are also post-WW2 type ones, which are not reliable now since these carriers are getting old to serve the navy. The military will change its primary weapon from the AK-74 to the SG 550. The Government also plans to buy military equipment from its northern neighbor, Osteuropa.

Third, the passage of the Small Business Aid Act, where the government will provide 3 billion Faths to all small businesses affected by the past leadership by Wanth Grissford. The Government will also remove tax from these small businesses for a year to help the businesses recover quickly.

Lastly, the proposal to the neighboring nation of Osteuropa of a non-agression pact, and possibly, a bilateral naval exercise in the Black Sea, to possibly help each other in promoting peace in Europe and Africa, regardless of ideology.
GLORY TO FALTHONIA!!!!

People's Assembly Hall, East Berlin, Zentralstaat Osteuropa
January 9th, 1990

The Assembly had quickly gotten a formal message from the Japanese foreign ministry, one which took precedence as an emergency meeting was called: one which managed to mostly be swathed in laughter and carelessness, a flat bluff and an empty threat: that fleet would take on anything they could have in the Indian Ocean by simply swimming past it and climbing aboard it. They know for a fact that what they're doing is perfectly legal, and is only a matter of simply sending off materials to let the MDF do as they please: they have reason to send it to the MDF, and that is as payment for their services and care to the Osteuropean people's plights and worries, to be used to further aid their growing forces. They hold firm, and believe that no harm will come to the fleet if the MDF has anything to say about it themselves: pointing out the fact that the Indian Ocean doesn't have anything for the Japanese, and if they're to strike, it'll be an international incident on their hands, and bloods of hundreds of innocents that the worldwide community will see for what it is: proof that the barbaric empire must stoop lower and lower to get anywhere in life, denying and plummeting their own messages of peace by trying to attack a peaceful transfer.

Indian Ocean, 300 miles east off the coast of India
January 12th, 1990

The Yuletide fleet continues forward, riding on the waves and flying over as they entered the Indian Ocean after taking a prolonged time in port in Aden to observe the revolution and to ensure that things are kept smoothly... however clandestinely, they move to leave a decent store of the shipment, unloading 20 Marder IFVs, 8 Leopard 2's and around 1,800 various arms, such as the MP5, MG3, and G3A3's, to ensure a safe and steady relationship alongside both neighbors.

As well, with the announcement of the wish for further armament, Osteuropean factories in West Germany are forced to resume production schedule to at least feed the neighboring Falthonian Republic, continuing firearm and vehicle production for the time being to keep up import sales to the MDF and the former southern commune.

After the launch of the Yuletide Fleet and its complement, and the massive new wave of surveillance against the enemies of the state which had worked decades to aid and ensure the union's policies and laws are followed to a T, various high-ranking agents of GEHIRN, officers from across various military chains of command, had convened together in the midst of one of the largest naval bases of Osteuropa, one which was also the major shipyard for the Osteuropean Fleet: a fleet majorly owned and operated underneath the GEHIRN-loyal admiralty, which over the years had begun to form from newer and newer blood, being attaches in various outside conflicts and having honed themselves in this exact naval base. However today wasn't a gathering of the naval officers, of course. This was a joint effort. An effort to change the history of the nation, one a couple of years in the making.

Soon enough, as the midday came, the meeting came to a start at 412 strong, with the men and women involved wore the almost standard GEHIRN dress: Black overcoats, head covering and usually facial coverings for some, as well as patches and armbands which signaled their call-signs, which they're to use between one another as to not distinguish themselves and keep anonymity between the public and international groups like themselves. However for now, it only mattered to keep anonymity for the sake of any onlookers: For now however, the biggest matter at hand would be what they came to congregate for: the Assembly has gone too far. Even before they know their full plan, they can smell the blood in the air, and that's from the Assembly trying to pick at their skin to pry them open.

As the meeting began, the first speaker came up, a tall, feminine figured officer with a shoulder patch of a red 22, almost 7 feet tall and well better built then most of the men in the audience, wearing an officer's cap and a bandana, alongside some bootleg version of a Western style aviator sunglasses, looking more like a bandit in her makeshift facial getup, who took the stand on the equally makeshift platform where a speaker's lectern stood alone, where she moves the microphone up to fix up to her height, adjusting it a little more and tapping it a bit with her pinky finger, causing a small instance of static. With the test done, she goes to undo her coat a bit, revealing some of the lighter clothing she wore, a navy colored midshirt with a necklace, a gold cross on the end of it as she went and cleared her throat gently.

"Loyal brothers and sisters of the GEHIRN! We have congregated together, once again in the heart of some of our finest training, the greatest plans, and the home of one of the greatest fleets in all of the world! But we congregate, as the enemies of the state. Most of us have family safe enough to not rat us out, but some little of us have known that there are people that have indeed become rats for the Assembly, ones who are mere dogs to the loyalist forces, ones whom do not understand the suffering that truly goes on amongst the union that is kept under shudders and rose tinted, hidden amidst the hills and swamps of lies and deceit! Things which were instated by our elders amidst the original years of GEHIRN, and the fathers of their own amongst the puppet state agencies! They are the ones whom taint our legacy, whom make the public believe that we are merely boogeyman and monsters of Europe, that we are nothing but everyone, even Osteuropa's own bane. And it is time that we all have been aware, with the lingering intentions of the Assembly, to simply erase and treat us the way they treat most others. But it is not simply all of Osteuropa that is responsible, no! We are targeted, by the evil empire! Not of the east of us, no! The enemy that we are against is not the ones that the Assembly forces upon us to believe will be our eternal rivals, but no! Our enemy had scarred every single part of the union we live in, yet we forgave them and merely let them lead the Union and bribe us for too long! The German Empire strives and lives under a false shade of red! My grandparents and parents were subjugated to the experiments and evils of the Germans in the war, and then again when my family's land was taken by the Germans, to turn into a damned militia training farm! And then forcing my hand again, deciding that my family, my people who I've come to accept as my family after years apart of my own, to be subjugated and destroyed as if we were rubbish in the fire! Berlin paid off everyone to keep them complacent, to feed them and keep them ignorant of the misdeeds that the party has committed! And we, will be the ones who shall unveil the patterned wool from the world's eyes! We, shall save the world!"

And at that moment, the crowed cheered with an "Ooo-rah!" as they all stood and raised a fist each within the air, standing all at the same as they're riled for the rest of the meeting, as the group continued on, and with such, some measures are taken in regards to the other matters.

Firstly, the foreign ministers of various nations, namely Livonia and the Gaul Republic, are sent packages with manila folders with information sealed within: on each, are what looked to be front-line drawings on maps of both borders, with attached information labeling out various matters: for both entitle thousands of the state forces on the border as a first strike on February 1st, with both maps being addressed from the Union Guard bureau in Berlin, not from the military: since for the most part, the Union Guard are the ones administering the borders between other nations.

Secondly, to the Japanese Empire, much after the carrier fleet moved into the Pacific, is sent a naval chart of two potential movements of the fleet: one going around the Indian coast, and then the second diverting further off into the Indian Ocean through the Maldives for a southern approach: the message that was sent would be... suggestions: "Do not board; armed and trained partisians and guards. No ammo onboard warships, no trained personnel meant to use them. Strike dry cargo ships, transporting most tonnage as ammo meant for warships and aircraft. Do not believe the Assembly. Call their bluff. Win the war and destroy the mutualism that plagues their minds."
Unified Warsaw Pact & other Central/East European nations into a union of their own degree.

Tokyo, Japan
Imperial General Staff Headquarters
January 13, 1990

The message from the GEHIRN providing a map of the projected Yuletide fleet movements had arrived late at night to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. It was immediately forwarded to the Imperial General Staff Headquarters, and an emergency meeting called.

Army Minister Hayashi laughed at the message. "This is a message from Osteuropa's intelligence agency. We have no reason to trust them and they have no reason to help us. Did you see their assembly's response?"

However Prime Minister Nazaki was curious. "It is surprising that the GEHIRN would act against its government, but I would also not doubt it. I suppose they may wish to keep things balanced, to not make us too desperate. Although they surely must figure us waging war on the MDF will reap them large profits and enable them to project more influence on the MDF. I guess I am inclined to trust them, as so far we haven't been able to find their fleet on our own."

Navy Minister Aioi nodded. "Sir, if this map is correct, we can position to intercept their fleet by the 15th just off the coast of South Sumatra. Aim to target their carriers, even though their GEHIRN say to strike at the cargo ships. Remember gentlemen, we only have 6 torpedo tubes on each submarine, thus only 18 shots unless they have time to reload which they likely will not have time to do. Their intelligence confirms what we believed, the crews on the warships are not trained to man their weapon systems. However with the MDF so close, it is likely they will dispatch planes and ships within a few hours of our strike. We cannot protect our submarines that far away."

Nazaki gave a curt nod. "In that case, send new orders to the submarine commanders. Send them to the new coordinates and order them to prepare to intercept by the 15th. They are to engage the carriers as primary targets, but do not have to sink them so long as enough damage is caused. Secondary targets are the cargo ships. The submarines are not to fire upon any survivors and upon successful completion of their orders split up and move to a safe area and wait for new orders. They are not to fire on any MDF ship unless fired upon."

Nazaki continued. "In addition if their intelligence proves correct, inform the GEHIRN we are prepared to send secret compensation."

Waters off South Sumatra

Captain Ueda of the Uzushio scanned the horizon, looking out from the bridge as a crewman yelped that sonar had revealed the presence of the Osteuropean fleet and they had been sighted. With coordination from the other two captains, now the Uzushio and and Okishio were positioned in the north, while the Akishio sat towards the south, ready to trap the fleet in a crossfire. Loaded in torpedo tubes number 3, 4, 5, and 6 of his ship was a different armament than the rest. In each of those tubes sat a Type 88 missile, meant to be fired at the carriers, primarily in the case they were too heavily surrounded.

Within an hour the fleet was within range, and the submarines rose towards the surface, getting ready to attack, each stalking their prey. Captain Ueda locked his weapon systems on the lead cargo ship and at that moment, gave the order to open fire. From torpedo tubes 1 and 2, Type 89 torpedoes raced out in the direction of the leading cargo ship. Seconds later four Type 88 missiles were launched up into the air, arcing towards the two carriers. From the Okishio and Akishio came 12 more torpedoes total. 8 aimed towards various cargo ships, the rest directed towards the carriers.

"Reload! Reload!" Ueda shouted, yet he knew if his shots did not hit now, they would not have time to safely escape potential MDF retaliation. He could only look on anxiously to see if he and the other commanders would score the hits needed on the carriers.

Mutar.

The Black devils, consisting of 40 Eland 90s, 20 Eland 60s, and their 10 T-55sAM-1s join a convoy of RLI APCs, Mostly MAP-75s leading a few M113s, down the main service road to the boarder check point at Machipanda. Over them, 4 Mirage Fighters screamed low overhead, escorting 6 English Lightning fighters.

This formation, Known as Switchbale, flew like this for some time before arriving over the ZAF HQ at Maputo. Slung on the wings of the lightnings were a mix of 1,000 pound cratering bombs and a pair of HE-fragmentation bombs.

Lined up on the runway sat Mozambique’s sole fighter wing comprised of 18 MIG-21s and around the same number of MIG-17s and MIG-15s. The F-1s circled high, flying over watch for their brothers and sisters down below. The Lightnings screamed in fast and low, dropping their bombs along the lit runway and scoring several hits and putting the runway out of action. The parked migs didn’t fair any better, being blown to pieces by a combination of bombs and 30mm strafing runs.

A battery of ZSU-23s began to fire wildly in to the night, the lack of radar or night sights meaning their fire was ineffective, and they were quickly silenced by 30mm strafing rungs. Choosing to be thorough the reading party then focused on the air facilities it self, fuel tanks, tracking stations and other equipment, razing them with their remaining bombs and cannon rounds before their control bird, the E-2 Hawkeye, notified them of a radar spike coming from the Nouth.

Choosing now to leave, the entire flight turned, formed up, and made for the boarder. As they flew home, they passed the Hawkeye and its two F-1 escorts being refueled by a KC-130 while below them, a pair of Hind-Ds escorted a set of UH-1s and Alouette IIIs carrying a force of men at arms.

These were the men of the No. 1 Commando, Rhodesian Special Air Service and their mission was paramount. Their destination: Beira.

On the way back, that radar spike turned out to be a pair of Chinese made J-7 fighter craft, having scrambled from a backwater airbase after word of the raid on the Maputo had reached them. They were fast, fast enough to attempt an intercept of the Lightnings as they dashed for the safety of Rhodesian Airspace. The escorting f-1s dove on them and a minor furball formed. The J-7s were brave, and competently flown, but rather outmatched by comparatively more capable aircraft and Rhodesian pilots of equal skill if not more so.

The first J-7 was taken own in moments as a pair of F-1s broke for each J-7, being downed by a Matra Magik IR missile and crashing with a notable fireball, the pilot did not eject.

The second did the smart thing and dove to the floor, using the speed of the mig copy to reduce the maneuverability of the perusing Mirages. It juked a Matra missiles before being critically damaged by the lead F-1s 30mm DEFA cannons. The pilot sharply pitched up, gained around a thousand feet of altitude before his bird began to break up and he activated his ejection seat, his parachute deploying. The F-1 pilots circled long enough to circle his landing sight and mark it out. Africa was a wild place, and leaving a man with naught but his suit and side arm damned him to a sure death.

A search and rescue team was sent after him.

The airborne commando force sped through Mozambique along the N6 highway, several times meeting bewildered local security troops and giving them the good word via rockets and cannon shells.

As they did so, they marked out check points, police stations and areas that looked like Security forces Garrison points, marking them out for the Black devils and their escorting 1st and 2nd RLI regiments to secure along their ride down the Highway.

As the dawn broke, the RSAS forces flew over the Horizon and found Beria in sight. Their mission begin then and their as the Hind-Ds broke off from the rest and began assaulting their prime targets. Each hind carried a squad of RSAS operators, toting modern equipment and weaponry.

An entire year of intelligence gathering by BSAP agents told them the city was chafing under the poor, inept leadership of the Mozambican government and perhaps close to some form of anticommunist revolution, with local forces clashing with Police and state forces along its slums and suburbs.

The First Hind-D made for City hall, using its nose gun to meet the few security guards outside before the 12 operators leapt the 6 feet to the ground and stormed through it’s entrance, giving the order for civilians to get on the ground and for those armed to drop their weapons. They moved like machines, well oiled and competent machines before breaching the majors office and found him hiding behind his secretary.

The second made for the Beira Police HQ and storming it in as equally a rapid measure. There was a much more intense fire fight between the RSAS and more valiant officers before the Station was taken and the Police disarmed. 4 officers were killed in returned for a single wounded RSAS operative.

A hundred miles down the N6 Highway, the Black Devils blitzed down the main lane, the soldiers on top waving the Rhodesian flag and tossing rations, bottles of water and panelists promoting the liberation of their people from the “horribly inept and corrupt government” While they were seldom met with hostility, they weren’t given the warmest of welcomes either.

An official cable was sent to the government of Mozambique. A simple, single page affair confirming the forces in their country were in fact Rhodesian, that this was in no uncertain terms an Annexation of its southern provinces south of the N6 and including the City of Beira, and that any action other then diplomatic would be met with appropriate fire power.

Zeah Koltze awaited their reply from her War room in Salsbury.

Even whiles truck offguard by a heavy blow from the invading Rhodesian forces, the Mozambicans were not simply going to take this attack laying down. They had their own army, and they fully intended to strike back and remove the foreigners from their land.

On the outskirts of Beira, the sky began to be lit with tracers fired from the now positioned anti-air batteries, occasionally broken with fire from Strelas and S-125s to try and down the Rhodesian helicopter force, Mozambican troops pushing through the city to try and hurry to respond to the locations attacked.

A force of 50 T-55s, along with all 16 of the Mozambican PT-76s and a contingent of 10,000 men in BTRs, trucks, and any other vehicles that could be scrounged, were dispatched from the north to strike at Chimoio, hoping to cut the Rhodesians off and move towards plugging the hole in the border.

On N6, the apparent primary approach of the invasion force, the Mozambicans would dispatch their entire contingent of 60 T-54s. To support this, while their primary strike force of MiGs was eliminated, they still had other fighters at Nacala and Nampula. A combined force of 13 MiG-17s and 9 J-7s was scrambled to give cover for the armoured column's advance. Out of desperation, in Nacala, they began to also prepare to affix proper armaments on their two trainer MiG-15UTIs, as well as their sole L-39 to prepare them to join the main force. An additional compliment of two Mi-25s was sent along with them.

Together, the Mozambican commanders hoped this would stall their advance. However, should they fail now, hope was not lost. Merely, a change in strategy and much sacrifice would be required in order to win the day.
I'm not actually a communist.

A New Year, an New Conflict

Of Course the Monarchy was a success in our Swedish lands with the monarch governing perfecting and according to plan. What was not in store of us was the little “ Military “ conflict between some nations in our planet.

“ We Must Prepare, the Next War May lie on us “ - War Advisor.

Of Course, we racked up some Chinese created J7 Aircrafts, some of our own SOS-89 Planes, and some battleships. 1,000 troops were stationed around the borders to look the nations that seemly what to force us into an bad conflict, that does not need us nor our powers. “ Must...Be.....Careful “ - The Speechless Peace Person spoke.

Although we were usually very welcome to foreigners, following Communist Volkstrand’s decisions to remove foreigners, we followed to remove suspected terrorists and foreigners that just refuse to leave. 3,000 Swedish troops were talking ships and aircrafts to the rather poor Africa, to raid.

Boarder Airspace.
01Jan90

The scrambling of Mozambican Airforce fighters from it’s two secondary air bases do not go unnoticed, the RAF E-2 having been refueled mid air by a KC-130 alongside its pair of F-1 Escorts. Picking them up range, and vectoring a mixed group of lightnings and F-1s at both.

The air war was important to Rhodesia’s strategy, as ww2 had shown he who controls the air, controls the war. The vector given by the Hawkeye had both groups arriving at higher altitudes, a total of 6 F-1s and 12 Lightnings.

They’re foe was identified as older migs by profile alone and their tactics adjusted. The F-1s were outfitted primary with the Matra Magik missile and cannons, lacking longer ranged missiles and chose to allow the Red Top armed Lightnings to fire the first volley of missiles, attempting to scatter the formation of MIGs to allow the more agile F-1s to pounce on the separated birds. None the less, orders were to not submit to a prolonged turning fight as the MIGs were more agile at lower speeds.

Beira.

The RSAS Hind-Ds were soon joined by their 4 sister birds in assaulting the city, backed up by a squadron of 20 UH-1s and Allouettes carrying the rest of the RSAS and specialist Companies of the Selous Scouts and Light Rifles. Their objective changed how ever, to reinforcing the RSAS units at the City hall and Police HQ, using them as strong points to keep a foot hold in the city.

Having spotted the Armored column making their way down the N6, RAF command was radioed and scrambled its own strike wing of Canberra bombers, 8 specifically, escorted by another 2 Lightnings, to hit the column with bombs and rockets.

The 6 Hinds had their gunship rolls transferred to UH-1Cs and Ds, and found them selves tasked with hunting down the Mozzie S-125 batteries around the city proper, being given general locations around the city based on the rather far out eye of the E-2 Hawkeye.

Mount Selina

Further south, another 4 Mirages crossed the boarder to escort a second column of 4500 Rhodesian motorized troops and light armor, setting up a fortified operations base on the eastern slope and deploying a battery of 105 mm guns, as well as BL 4.5 inch field guns. with the entire breadth of mustered troops deployed in to this growing war, orders were made to muster the other 20,000 men of the Regular army for service, giving them orders to assemble along the boarder and begin further reinforcing the boarder, going as far as to levy civilian construction crews, BSAP Territorial reservists, Regular Reservists and the Grey’s Scouts mounted regiment to do so.

Inchope

The small town was...well, a small town, but it was a cross section between the vital N6, and the equally important N1 highways. With information of a large, armored enemy force inbound the commander of the Black Devils, one Ernest Koenig, found him self with an opritunity.

Ernest was a German, a proper german. Born in Munich he saw the fall of Imperial Germany and the rise of Hitler’s Rhiech. Having turned just old enough to pass for 18 during the final years of ww2, he had found him self serving as a radio operator on a Pkwz. IV long enough to see Germany fall.

Now being in his early 70s he was easily the oldest RSF commander, he was in the final years off his service that had been uneventful since his enlistment in the early 60s under Ian Smith’s government.

Knowing the enemy was approaching from the east down the N6, and estimating their rather poor state of affairs, he set his forces accordingly. Along the Eastern edge of the city, dug in to abandoned houses and sheds, he set a firming line of 12 Eland 90s, with interlocking fields of fire to cover the eastern approaches. A street behind them, he set up his T-55AM-1s, to act as a secondary firing line and to plug the gaps.

To the north east and South East, he deployed the rest of his Eland 90s, 8 vehicles, and his compliment of Eland 60s in two formations to act as the Horns of the bulls, to hopefully advance and envelope the enemy along the approach.

With the intelligence he received, and knowing he would have air support soon, he also deployed his infantry along the streets and roads, doing their best to evacuate civilians to the west to keep them out of harms way as much as possible. In the spare time they had hey began to set up firing positions, setting up their Machine guns, rocket launchers, and infantry mortars the best they could.

All in all, it looked to be a hell of a fight to be had.

Northern Angola, frontline between AIM and Angolan forces
What was assumed to have been some sort of horrible accident in the capital’s harbors turned to a national emergency after an hour, as the fledgling navy of Angola was torn asunder in a matter of minutes, leaving the city to enter a lockdown, as forces were sent down south in trucks and small transport planes, moving firstly to enforce the city of Lobito, moving four motorized brigades into the city to defend from within, while each of the reported AIM columns are to be met with a superior force of around 6 armored and motorized infantry brigades, each totaling to around 6,000 strong, looking to solidify a defensive border against the AIM forces before the next onslaught begins.

The lone tank brigade of the nation sits to defend Luanda, as its navy being mostly defeated after loss of around half its firepower, leads to the city of Luanda being defended by it and whatever artillery can be salvaged up, with the Osa missile boats left to be the only hope in case a larger navy were to come, as well as the only scouts left to watch for submarine activity: the minesweepers are sent to mine the coast of Lobito to ensure no amphibious landing is easily moved in. With over around 1/3 of its military on the front line, the first true act of deterrence is sent aboard the Su-22, with Fitters as well as MiG-21’s flying off to drop the first bombs against the encroaching AIM forces, hoping to distract and halt their push with explosive ordnance and gun runs, giving time to push in further divisions and to hope that this is all they must dead with.

Indian Ocean, nearing Sumatra

As the news of status quo for the operation went on to the fleet after the Assembly laughed off the warning from the Japanese government, Jurgen Müeller, former captain-lieutenant of the Osteuropean navy, now admiral as recently instated by the Union Guard Maritime Command, looks onward from the bridge of the formerly named Kiev-class carrier Rostock, one of the four earliest Osteuropean carriers of its navy: he was its last captain, and as a proponent loyalist in the navy against the monopoly which GEHIRN holds in the armed forces, was the opportune pick to lead this fleet on its last voyage in his hands. Knowing well what the fleet carries, he also acts as the political officer to the fleet, ensuring that nobody knows all of the contents aboard the freighters, and that the partisans he works with keep any civilians from trying to go where they’re not supposed to. This mission will be his last under his old rank: after Union Day, when the Assembly plans to turn the Union Guard into the true military, and to return it as a state-controlled entity, he’ll soon be the next commanding officer of Osteuropa’s first supercarrier, the flagship of the Berlin-class. He’s barely capable of it, but however, his political position earns him his spot here, and soon, it shall be the same aboard there.

As the 15th day of January lunged on slowly for the fleet, sudden reports of countermeasures spotted launched in the air come to the fleet: before anything is settled within the midst of “what should we do”, Müeller orders rather to all on whoever had just done that to cease immediately, calling upon his fleet before then suddenly affirming to whomever had anti-air missiles loaded to unload and report themselves immediately for their misuse... that is, until one of the munitions actually strikes something out of the sky. They’re under attack, and there’s little time to react now.

Quickly, Müeller orders the fleet to begin moving all rudders to port and to begin travelling at maximum speed, as within a few seconds, most of the military fleet moves to do so. Men and soldiers move to battlestations, or at least trying to work any ESM they could for a second strike. However, none had worked amongst the sonar since after status quo was ordered, as before the missiles landed, the last message out from the ex-Rommel was for the very close sighting of torpedoes headed for them.

The first of the torpedoes struck the Rommel, blowing a hole into the portside stern as the bulkheads began to fill with water. Another swam past, the second launched from the Uzushio went straight into the civilian bulk carrier Corinth: a carrier which seemed out of place for the transport fleet, which was one of the ships with unlisted cargo: cargo which would be revealed in a flash of blinding light and smoke, as the next torpedoes began to rupture the other cargo ships: similar detonations are to begin.

In a second after the second torpedo struck, the three remaining missiles began striking their targets: firstly, the Osteuropa, one of the two helicopter carriers, which took a missile through the top of the deck and into the bulkheads, blowing up not just the back deck but taking out its propulsion, as it began to slowly list into the the distance of a cargo ship which almost begins a collision course with it. The second missile lands and pierces the bow of the Kiev, elder sister of the ship Müeller operates from, landing near the bridge and causing the smoke and shrapnel cloud to obfuscate the crew’s vision. But finally, the third strike lands and demolishes the bridge of the leading carrier Rostock, with Müeller’s last sight being the bright burning light coming from the Corinth: the secret is revealed to the fleet, and all observers.

In an instant after the third missile strikes, the Corinth is obliterated in what looks to be a low-yield nuclear strike: kilotons of nuclear torpoedos are set off after some naval gun rounds detonated inside the bulk carrier, leading to a chain reaction that soon led to set off the warhead stockpile: the explosion rends apart the cargo ship, and soon sends a small tidal wave out amongst the other ships: the Rommel stood no chance and capsized amongst the water intake, as the ships all began to lose course, as well as power: radar, sonar, and communications were all out, as the ships began to list into one another’s courses, with the wave capsizing and crushing smaller ships like the fast attack craft and minelayers, while the Osteuropean submarines were utterly devastated, being either hit into one another, or sent careening into the lower hull of another ship.

Soon enough, other cargo ships went off in lighter, but similarly devastating explosions; though non nuclear, they shook and struck other ships equally, with the torpedos launched by the other two submarines still being effective on the outer circles of the fleets, landing blows on frigates, ship tenders, and destroyers, which would be equally devastated as the tidal wave would help send the water into them next: while they didn’t land their intended targets, there was opportunity for the Japanese thanks to GEHIRN’s advice: the warhead detonation left the carriers dead in the water.

As for GEHIRN’s end of the deal, a second favor to the Japanese was at hand back at home: from a naval relay station in Crete, one of the furthest south domestic bases that Osteuropa had, they had taken into account the sudden loss of communication, and began to feed lies to the Assembly: “Status nominal: Japanese threat out of sight; bluff called and crisis averted, connection loss due to typhoon: Yuletide with the MDF will be celebrated in 2 days. Glory to the Assembly.”

Captain Ueda watched in shock as one of the Osteuropean ships exploded as if it had been hit with a low-yield nuclear bomb. He took a second to recover as he watched the incoming tidal wave. "Brace for impact!" he shouted. All of a sudden the submarine was pushed back, some crew who had not been made aware were thrown back. Ueda staggered.

"What was that?" cried his First Mate. Ueda was shaken but regained his balance. "Did we fire a nuclear torpedo?" he asked.

His First Mate shook his head. "No sir, I do not believe so."

Ueda nodded. "Inform Tokyo the objective has been eliminated. The crisis has been averted. Prepare to turn around and retreat to our designated locations. From there we can return back home."

Over the radio Captain Uji from the Okishio called over, "Requesting permission to continue the engagement."

Ueda picked up the radio and called back. "Permission denied. Our orders were to damage the carriers and target the cargo vessels. We have exceeded that. We must assume the MDF will arrive shortly, turn around and head northwest to your designated location. We will meet up once again shortly. Good job commander. Tennoheika Banzai!"

"Banzai!" was the only reply from Uji.

In the south the Akishio began its course towards the Timor Sea but its captain, Captain Yamagawa was still alert, watching the other ship on his sonar. It had fired countermeasures when the submarines had opened fire. They had not been successful, but he was concerned. Was it MDF? Was is Osteuropean? It had not fired upon his ship as it submerged beneath the surface, but he was nonetheless worried.

He called over to his crew, "Load Type 88 missiles and keep watch of the unidentified craft. We are under orders to cease radio communication now until we are in safer waters, so we cannot consult our mission commander if we should engage or not. On one hand we are under order to not fire on any MDF ships. On the other hand, it fired countermeasures and was a witness. Keep an eye on it for now. If it pursues us, prepare to engage."

In the war room, commanders excitedly discussed the elimination of the fleet. They did not yet know the full details, as orders to the submarines were to assume radio silence after reporting the status of the mission. They had said it was successful, but the extent was still unknown. Navy Minister Aioi stood up before the room. "To our knowledge, the crisis to our glorious empire has been averted. We now may return to operational planning against the MDF on our terms. Congratulations Prime Minister Nazaki on your success. We are not out of the clear yet, but the hard part is over."

Nazaki nodded and smiled. "With the divine blessing of his holiness the Emperor, we have succeeded. It should be our first point of business to prepare for any possible retaliation, but it is seeming unlikely. Minister Sakurauchi, have your office send a secret message to the GEHIRN thanking them for their support and offering compensation for their losses. Be careful with what you write in case it is intercepted. Continue to be on high alert, as we don't want to tip anyone off we know about the strike. I want to Combined Fleet to still be ready for planned training come next week. Good job gentlemen, you are all unknown heroes to our empire."

Dear PM Ishimo Nazaki, I am very concerned about the escalating conflict between your country and the Mutual Development Federation. I am afraid that it might turn into a new Pacific War. You remember what happened in the previous conflict when America destroyed much of your military back in '45. If it happens again, you may seek military assistance from my country. Let me know what you think.

Sincerely, President Ronald Reagan

The message from the Japanese Foreign Affairs Ministry came in nice and clean: in an uproar, the naval intelligence office erupts into cheer and excitement, as the group of GEHIRN agents stand and get ready to send about the news to the others, as soon enough, the news reaches quickly to the Black Sea fleet, as soon, the agents in Sevastopol organize and come to look over the offer of observance and participation, deciding to acknowledge it and immediately respond as the offer was made.

To those whom it may concern,

We gladly accept your invitation to participation and future cooperation, and are glad to inform you that compensation will be discussed in person. We will be happy to inform you that we can come in only a couple of hours through supersonic flight: if you accept our offer we will be there by midday to discuss, and to introduce ourselves and further discuss the future in Tokyo. Thank you for your offer, for we do accept it and do hope to meet whenever best possible for your associates.
Signed off by Black-17, Blue-14, and Red-22, selected observers of GEHIRN's behalf

As soon as possible, the GEHIRN agents selected headed off to their own private lot in Sevastopol National Airport, chartering a Tu-144 painted up in their traditional black kept in a hangar, and soon would ready to launch off and head offward to Tokyo in anticipation to meet with the Japanese.

To President Ronald Regan,

There is no need for concern over our recent conflicts with the MDF. Japan is strong and prepared to defend its interests. With American support, Japan was rebuilt, and with the late Emperor Showa's blessing, our great nation reborn. We admittedly are not as strong as the days when I once served in the Imperial Army, but with cooperation, both of our nations can overcome threats against it. You are more than welcome to send a delegation to Tokyo to discuss further collaboration, and your nation is welcome to join ours in our upcoming military drills. They will be happening frequently as we train our forces for what is to come, so feel welcome to join in.

PERSONAL DIARY - CAPT. JOHANN MAAS, RNS SCIMITAR

I've never seen anything like it. The bridge, the sea, the whole ship disappeared. We were drowning in blazing white light for a few seconds. I'm ashamed to say I didn't react immediately, other than putting an arm over my eyes, and the light was so bright I could see my own skeleton through it. Then the light seemed to shoot upwards toward the clouds and the sun could be seen through the top, the mushroom cloud mounted on top of a red/black scar at sea level, like a portal had been opened to hell. I ordered Juana to pull hard to the left and move us out of here just before the shockwave hit and we were all thrown across the deck. Most of us escaped with cuts and bruises but an engineer is concussed and we're taking him back to a trauma unit in Singapore. Sensors were fried so we couldn't contact the jet. We'd given her up for lost when she landed on deck three hours later, having climbed clear and kept climbing. We sent all our evidence to GHQ and we've been ordered to wait in Singapore to be joined by the Vengeance and the Viking. Just as well. I'm going to need a week's worth of gin to clear that explosion from my mind. It feels like it's burned onto my eyes.

MINUTES OF CABINET - EXEC SUMMARY - TUESDAY

All in attendance. The PRESIDENT called the room to order at 1720. The first thirty minutes were given over to domestic issues; improving the internal imports system, laying cables off the Norwegian coast, and responding to public outcry over delays in the Bueneventura Two murder inquiry. The remaining two hours was a wide-ranging foreign policy discussion. The Cabinet minority felt that RESOLUTE should be wound down as international commitments continued to be an overstretch on resources. But the testimony of Captain Maas, and satellite evidence from the incident, was persuasive for the PRESIDENT and INTERNATIONAL SECRETARY'S case; that the prosperity of the UNI remains dependent on a secure and stable international order. There is popular pressure from party members for a more forthright stance as well. The meeting resolved to finalise and circulate the draft ALESUND DECLARATION immediately; which includes:

- Demand for a public explanation from Osteuropa for the presence of nuclear warheads aboard their convoy.
- Demand for a public explanation from the power that fired upon the OE convoy, pursuant to the conclusion of our own investigation which will be made public.
- Threat of breaking off trading relationships, expelling diplomats, and closing borders within weeks with all non-African countries that persist with post-1989 military actions on the African continent.
- Demand for the immediate withdrawal of Rhodesia from Mozambique.
- Appeal for other powers to join us in a Multilateral African Stabilisation Force, and commitment of troops and equipment to that force should it exist.

New Orange Free State
War and Foreign Ministries
Capetown, New Orange Free State.
November 1, 1989

Fuhrer Karl Vorster met with his generals. The Rhodesian and Mozambican conflict alarmed both military and civilian sectors of his country. Purchased upgrades abroad had made both Centurion Tank and F-104L starfighter jets formidable front line weapons. The upgraded Centurions had junked a T-72 column sent by the Soviets across the Mozambique border without loss to New Orange Free State Forces in 1988.

Vice Fuhrer Alexandria von Bergmann asked. "Are the Rhodesians at risk of being overrun." "At this juncture, possibly." said AirMarshal Ettore Falcone. "I advise we offer aid to them and impose a sea-blockage of the Mozambican coast to reduce their overseas fuel, spare parts, and weapons purchases. Can the navy do this."

Admiral Robert Redford said. "We can deploy one of our two diesel-fueled carriers. There's no Atlantic or Antarctic activity near us. I propose a blockade task consisting of one carrier, one battlecruiser, six destroyers, a missile cruiser, 20 E-boats, and five U-boats."

"The air force and Luftsturm near the Mozambique border had been on war alert for the past six hours. The army and landsturm near the border have been fully mobilized." said General Dieter von Kesselring.

Karl Vorster spoke. "This must be a clear cut war with rapidly achieved objectives. We cannot afford to bleed ourselves white with Soviet-style Afghanistan police actions. I will conference with the Rhodesians to see if they wish our aid, too."

"To the Government of Rhodesia.
I am Fuhrer Karl Vorster of the New Orange Free State. Mozambique's dangerous aggression Rhodesian has
been noted. We stand ready to send arms, air support, land support, and sea support to your nation.
to aid your nation in its war with Mozambique, provided you have the objective only of defeating
Mozambique alone. We await your response."

Wolves

The assault on the capitol port was a massive success in crippling the naval capabilities of The National Angolan Armed Forces and would allow for the rapid creation of more robust blockade surrounding the coastal areas. The three Tupi class submarines would lie in wait along the coast line with express permissions to destroy any unauthorized ships in the area. The minesweeper, launched by The Angolans to lay speedy mine fields through the coast line would be the first targets of this unrestricted submarine warfare. Night after night these ships would be assaulted by torpedo barrages that would not let up until the last inch of twisted metal had hid the sea floor. This would also severely limit the capacity of these minesweepers to effectively lay minefields throughout the coast line which would open up ample opportunities for northern assaults originating from Sao Tome where the first 25,000 professional Brazilian soldiers had arrived and were prepared for what would soon become a mass mission to squeeze the Angolan state into nothing.

The northern Angolan town of Soyo sat stalwart at the mouth of The Congo River and its large amount of beach front access would make it ideal for an amphibious assault and the creation of a northern front. The fighting in the south had done exactly as AIM and The Brazilian Forces had expected, it drove much of the Angolan military to the south and created ample opportunity for an assault in the north while also creating momentum along the front line in the south. The AAF1 would move out of Sao Tome with a landing force of several thousand men and multiple battalions of EE-T1 tanks. The plan would be for this landing force to take the northern beach and push directly into the city as bomber groups, supported by F-20 style light fighters and organized in Sao Tome, kept the garrisoned forces pinned down deeper in the city. Once the landing forces had established control of the majority of the city and its air strip, convoy ships from Sao Tome would begin rapidly bringing in infantry and other mechanized components by the thousands. In order to keep momentum, arriving infantry troops would force the remain Angolese troops out of the country side along the EN100 to Lucata. This would create a new northern front line and a stronger area of control for the continued arrival of military personnel.

In the south, the initial push had perfectly set off the trap necessary to ensure the success of a northern front however it became immediately apparent that the the men in the southern front would have to dig in and hold onto the loos connection of villages that defined the front line. Buildings and homes would be converted into defensive positions with MGs, light artillery, and rpg teams. F-20 fighters would enter the skies from the south and begin to directly cut into the SU-22 fighter groups, using rapid strikes against the bombers and breaking off to avoid direct confrontation with MiGs. Another 5,000 AIM soldiers would be brought up to the front line creating a rough total of 20,000 fighters dotted along the southern front while the other half of AIM forces remained concentrated in the west. The momentum in the north would come to a complete stand still as AIM and Angolan troops would engage in multiple clashes in various villages. The city of Lobito itself would become the target of endless bombardment from SSM trucks to the west and south however it did not appear that AIM forces were very interested in fully pushing on the city just yet. Further in the south, the other half of the Brazilian expeditionary force would begin to land in the city of Namibe who would then work on joining AIM forces in the north within a few days time.

A lone radio telecommunication would arrive in Luanda

Brazilian air, naval, and land forces have engaged in military operations with the goal of bringing about the popular will of The Angolan People. The destruction of the states naval capacity, occupation of the southern regions, and the occupation of Soyo and its surrounding areas have shown the futility of continued warfare on the behalf of The Angolan State. In recognition of this, Brazilian forces whish to call for the immediate surrender of the combine Angolan Armed Forces and the creation of a new national government, in cooperation with the current government, that will better suit the democratic demands of The Angolan People that have been denied by the seat of power for far too long. If these demands are met in the following 48 hours, an immediate ceasefire will be adopted by Brazilian forces and the organization of a council dedicated to the formation of new national state will be organized congruently between AIM, Brazilian, and The Angolan National Government. The Brazilian combined forces further promises the release of national POWs, the safety of all members of The Angolan National Government, and the safety of civilian entities.

The Falthonian Economy, as it slowly recovers, with the increasing exports of oil to other nations, the construction of railways and highways to link all the 12 states, and the switching to renewable energy, has helped decrease the unemployment rate from 48.3% to 16.1% with the increasing need for manpower for constructing the said infrastructure. Wels Priponsk said in his speech that, the nation will try to decrease its carbon emissions to 85% in 2000 and 70% in 2020. This will decrease its dependence to oil, and increase the oil being exported from the oil fields. The nation also declares its neutrality with increasing tension around the world, but will join the conflict if the nation is threatened. Two days after this, the nation releases the nation of Cyprus. After being bought by the Soviets from the UK on 1943 to help the invasion of Greece. After the war, the territory of Cyprus was given to Falthonia and after 45 years of rule from foreign nations, the nation was released as an independent nation. With this, the Falthonian Government will also establish the Middle East Development Bloc or the MEDB with Cyprus, to help nations to develop and aid with the new nations in the Middle East. The independence of Cyprus will also be guaranteed by Falthonia and swears that,

"If any nations threaten the independence of the new nation, we will not hesitate to protect it with everything we got."

The nation also has completed the construction of two new carriers, named the FN Draithon and FN Wassein, that was constructed since 1988 and will start to serve the military at its naval exercise on the Persian Gulf. The nation's military, with Osteuropa supplying their equipment, is now being trained to serve in any future conflict. And again, the nation will remain neutral at all costs, unless the independence of the newly independent nation of Cyprus or Falthonia is being threatened.
GLORY TO FALTHONIA!!!!

JUST PLAYING NS FOR FUN!

Luanda, Angola
Ultimatum

It should've been well expected that the situation was to come to the Brazilian forces to have invaded them: the National Government felt that they should've expected that from the very beginning, the empire looking over their heads from the north and having merely waited on a whim to come after them. Despite the capital being well defended, having opted to keep a decent reserve of their remaining military in the area amdist the capital to move to the frontline with notice, they did not anticipate the fact that they were aiming to encircle them in full: there was no way with how outstretched the forces are between the south and the border patrolling, to simply move a fully competing force against a major power: they have the manpower to attempt it and to ensure that they can take as many as they can before all is lost, but that wouldn't be long: a 2 to 1 head count be damned, every man doesn't matter if at this rate with their nonexistent navy, their unsupported army and deteriorated air force, that if they didn't take to the offer of surrender at this point, them and everyone in the country would be a target for slaughter: this isn't something that the worry about when it comes to the Brazilians, rather, this would give Savimbi every reason to kill them all for the years of conflict they had went through.

Soon enough, after news of Soyo's invasion and the further reinforcements, the government issues an order of retreat for the armed forces on the frontline in the south, in order to reduce casualties from the insurgents, as after the white flag is held, Angola surrenders to the terms of the cease fire, landing all aircraft and ensuring their disarmament as they announce their compliance with the Integralist faction, as well as the Brazilian government.

Berlin, Zentralstaat Osteuropa, German Democratic Republic
January 17th, 1990

As news of the incident broke out, not due to the nation's own intelligence but of the Northern Islands' demand for further into, the People's Assembly arrange into an emergency meeting, in a panic that their plan and an entire fleet was obliterated in a single sweep with a lucky strike. Their plan of sending nuclear tipped warheads and torpedoes to the MDF as a regard to the encroaching threats of China and Japan had fallen through, leaving them with their thumbs metaphorically in their anus. Squabbling to compile an official message, a draft is made and sent off to be read to the world, announcing the incident publicly.

"The Socialist Internationale of Osteuropa is mourning today, with the loss of around 4,200 loyal and hardworking men and women of the Union Guard and of the many various cities abound the union, due to a nuclear accident in regard to an apparently faulty nuclear prototype device and magazine breach onboard a cargo ship, meant to have been cannibalized and sent to the MDF in regards to promoting and furthering clean energy in the Southeast, with the military ships having been sent as escort. There are no nuclear weapons involved in the transfer, and there is to be no further naval support to the MDF outside of wartime. All support to be sent to the MDF will be airlifted and sent aerially to prevent another similar incident. We are still investigating into the matter, and trying to address whom owned the attacking craft sent to destroy the fleet.

At the same time, the assembly aims to join the MASF, offering up 4 divisions of the Union Guard, and their personal naval flotilla to leave Osteuropa and to head to rendezvous with them in Freetown for further deployment.

During the meeting however, a correspondent enters the assembly room with security at the back, as they rush to announce an end to the meeting: from right outside to blocks away, at the Union Courier Services headquarters, as well as an equal distance away from the Palace of the Internationale, at the MDF embassy, military grade explosives were detonated, causing structural damage and loss of life, while the bomb at the UCS building starting a large blaze, tearing through thousands of pounds of mail and parcels: namely, the stockpile of GEHIRN info acquired as part of Operation Freedom Rays. As of now, no suspects have been found, as closed circuit footage had been cut off around dawn.

Yokota Air Base, Tokyo, Japan

Landing their supersonic jet, the GEHIRN charter soon comes into a fine enough spot to wait for the doors to open up, and for the landing stairs to come out for them, walking on out would be the shortest of the three, a man in a flightsuit with a black number 17 with a white border to let it stand out on the black flightsuit, accompanied with another, current co-pilot Black-201, who merely came to take a look on outside, before being the one to wait in and taxi the craft to safety. Next up, comes out a man in a black naval dress, adorned with the shoulder patch, a Blue 14. He seemed a bit uneasy from the flight, though is the oldest of the four, looking around his early 40's: by his outfit, air travel isn't his forte for transportation. However, the youngest and tallest of the three would be the Red 22, a muscular woman who stood over 7 feet tall, wearing an armband with her numeral and an undershirt, similar to those worn by tankers in the desert. With a breath of fresh air to be taken after a nice hour and a half flight, the GEHIRN agents walk down the steps out, with the three eager to meet their hosts.
