Why do you assume he was white? Papers generally don't ID race of the perpetrators in the articles. Only time you find the race is if the papers or news show a picture of the person

In minority communities, Asians are often viewed as competition for the few jobs available. Many also are enraged at constantly being compared to Asians, who many white supremacists deem the “model minority”.

Oh, I didn't realize it came off that way. I watched the video, and I honestly couldn't tell the race of the man. Sorry for not clarifying!
