Do the SAS compare well to other western special forces?

Is it true that the Royal Navy is very good?

No, they are shit teir wannabes whose every exploit was made up by Andy McNabb and Chris Ryan whilst on a drunken cocaine fueled LSD bender.

No the RN is utter crap, they issue the junior ranks colouring books to stop them colouring in the control consoles when on watch.
They let some weggie wuman captain a destroyer and you can buy an entire type 45 parts kit from RS components.

Since Rear Admiral Amjad Hussein was the highest ranking Muslim in the armed forces and the Royal Navy won the The Times Top 100 Employers of Race 2018, is it the one most likely to give its minority ethnic officers a high rank?

United Earthlings wrote:We'd hope nations would pursue sound judgment in regards to defense spending, but from what I've observed in many cases its trite and misinterpreted aphorisms that determine how a nation's defense spending is allocated.

Really "isolationist megapower with no war in three centuries" is the most absurd aspect of United Earthlings, so it gets its own post.

What aphorism guided the design of the Standard battleships? How does Vegetius justify United Earthlings using facsimiles of a type carefully created in reflection of US strategic interests of the time? Are battleships purely technological artifacts?

There is obviously no such thing as "realism" in NS. Some fictional country using an F-35 isn't more "realistic" than a Harry Potter broom, and may very well be less so.

When we RP (lol) or even world-build, we're just telling a story. What makes a good story? Again, it comes down to author fiat.

Obviously everything that happens in a fictional story is authorial fiat, but a good story has plausible and internally consistent justifications that allow the audience to suspend disbelief and forget everything is just a contrivance. These justifications add conflict and drama to the story.

"United Earthlings has a large and incredibly skilled military with lots of tools designed for intercontinental power projection despite three centuries of pacifist isolation because of this Latin quote" is just bad storytelling. It's not an actual motivation with purpose, there's no conflict or drama, it's less "realistic" than My Little Pony - Rainbow Dash at least reacts to situations in ways that are relatable and make her an actual character.

IMO "realism" isn't about how many horsepower your battleship has - it's about plausible and internally consistent ways to tell a story via world-building. Ideally realism is just good story-telling. This thread is a niche application but whatever.

In reality the development of battleships is a good story. There's conflict and tension. It's not "We're going to do whatever it takes to make our battleships 25 knots for some reason because we think it's a good idea for some reason." There's no conflict or tension there.

I suspect the actual reasons the two iterations of the Commonwealth we know about are heavily-armed isolationists is a legacy from when people actually RPed and you didn't want to get shown up by Questers or someone, but it's ok. You just have to worry about Sharifistan now.

Of course there's the added bonus of just being able to tell us how badass United Earthlings is without showing anything but nobody here is exactly lighting NS on fire these days.

The SAS I'd say are compaorable to the green berets (21et and 23) in some regiments and the delta force (22). I may be overestimating the 22nd but they are the active part of sas and are involved in high profile missions that the delta force/gsg 9 would undertake so I don't know.
The Royal navy is as good as any other navy, you just need a bunch of French anti-ship missiles to destroy them if that's what you're asking.
Since Rear Admiral Amjad Hussein was the highest ranking Muslim in the armed forces and the Royal Navy won the The Times Top 100 Employers of Race 2018, is it the one most likely to give its minority ethnic officers a high rank?

Only woke obsessive progressives care about that. It doesn't really make sense to include foreigners in your armed forces unless they are citizens or are in a program to become citizens. It may make sense le you want to make a warzone domestically in which you want troops that are as foreign as possible to prevent any type of remorse. It makes more sense to just grab as much troops from the domestic population that is citizens. In that case I would imagine UK to have sizable Indian units. The identity of the troops are irrevelent to MilReal Consultation thread.
how Land Rover RWMIK go far

I assume this is a artifact from the second world war. The desert tard are known to use a bunch of 5 or 10 gallon Jarry cans on thier vehicle to érigé around behind enemy lines and attack logistics. They did this in Italy too.

I'll do your back-of-the-envelope work to spare the others' time.

I believe the specific car you speak of does not have a clearly stated speed (and I don't care to search beyond that), we'll use this similar vehicle instead. It can travel at a top speed of 97 km/h under perfect situations, and under perfect terrain circumstances, it may travel that distance (456.41 km) in approximately 4.71 hours. This, of course, is basically the simplest form of algebra one can afford, and does not factor in whether the drivers stop for food or regroup with their unit, get lost, adhere to traffic signs or yield to the crappy roads of England-- frankly, I don't care. You could have done this yourself. But you should use this number anyway-- after all, if Driver's ed taught me anything it's that stop signs with silver borders are optional.

half an hour if you stick it on a C-17. 283.6 hours time if it's stuck in traffic behind a bad accident and manages to average 1 mile an hour. This question is literally meaningless because it's impossible to say how long it takes to travel somewhere unless you know how fast you're traveling which we have no way of knowing because you did not provide the required information.

Also assuming you have that information, NSMRC thread is not your personal calculator and does not exist for you to ask questions you could answer yourself in 5 seconds using math you should have learned in elementary school.

Bayonets haven't been used very much in the last half century. So the question really becomes do you NEED a bayonet?
