Riot Police are deployed from Edinburgh and London, the Royal Marines are also sent to patrol the Tyne including Lieutenant-Colonel Muhammad Sikandar Khan.
The Scots Guards are deployed on standby.

The Prime Minister Sikandar Khan, his wife Mary Khan (nee Smith ,a music teacher at a state-school and accomplished pianist) and his daughter are receiving round the clock police protection, his son is back from service in the Congo but expects to be deployed keeping order in Northumbria.
The Prime Minister reads about the monumentally stupid behaviour of the Northumbria Police, "please write to the Chief Constable to say I want the Superintendent and all the coppers that were supposed to be at work dismissed" he said to his secretary. He was deeply angry at what almost turned into a bloodbath against brave police officers.
The Metropolitan Police Counter-Terrorism Command ask for applications from Authorised Firearms Officers who served in the PSNI or RUC especially those who served during the Troubles.
Detective Sergeant Steven Campbell, a member of the Counter-Terrorism Command who previously served in the Strathclyde Police, is going undercover in the Northumbria Police Specialist Firearms Unit.
