Hello all,

If you have already TG'd me and gotten approval to post, welcome. This will be the forum in which to resolve general OOC matters, clarify misunderstandings / conflicts without clogging up the IC, and for other general housekeeping matters.

I will also be using this as a platform to better flesh out info about the nation of Amzran, as some of you have rightly suggested. I will start off with a very broad overview, but if you have specific questions or interests please let me know.

If you stumbled across this RP and want to participate, please TG me with a short description of your proposed involvement and I will get back to you as soon as my schedule allows. (That is to say, please be patient if you don't get an immediate response...)

CURRENT CIVIL WAR FACTIONS / STRENGTH / GOALS

REBEL FORCES

Islamic Extremist Militias (~7000 strong) - GOAL: Establishment of an Fundamentalist Islamic Republic, destruction of all other factions.
Christian Extremist Militias (~4000 strong) - GOAL: Establishment of a Fundamentalist Christian Republic, destruction of Islamic militias.
Criminal Elements / Looters (Total number unknown) - GOAL: Take advantage of lack of government to further criminal goals.

LOYALIST FORCES

Orenzyesi Martyr's Brigade (~3000 strong) - GOAL: Re-establishment of law & order, defeat of extremist elements, protection of innocent civilians.
Internal Security Paramilitary Force (~1000 strong) - GOAL: Same as above. Focused more on a mainly defensive, policing role.
Numerous Independent "Self-Defense Units" (Total number unknown) - GOAL: Same as above. Formed at the local level, mainly armed civilians.

INDEPENDENT / UNALIGNED FORCES

Hindu Self-Defense Army (~2000 strong) - GOAL: Protection of Hindu religious sites and ethnic neighborhoods from other religious factions.
People's Revolutionary Front (~1000 strong) - GOAL: Establishment of independent commune; defense of working class interests.

NONCOMBATANT FORCES

Foreign Observers, Journalists, and Aid Workers (~250) - GOAL: Various depending on role. Most just want to see an end to the conflict.

INACTIVE / DEFEATED FORCES

Nomadic Tribal Rebels - Suffered heavy casualties during the Battle of Ma'akeb. Have since scattered or fled.
Amzrani Revolutionary Guard - Combined Army and Air Forces. Routed, disbanded or captured. Survivors have joined various factions.
Amzrani Zandarmarijya - Gendarmerie / militarized police. Same as above.
Amzrani Urban Police - Organized civilian police stationed in cities. Same as above.
Amzrani Village Guards - Informal law enforcement / security forces comprised of villagers. Same as above.

Overview of Amzran:

Capital (and largest city): Karqal (khar-KAL), pop. 100,000
Official Languages: Amzranic, various regional indigenous languages.
Ethnic Groups: 90% Amzrani, 5% Nomad Tribes, 5% undeclared or unclassified.
Religious Groups: 50% Muslim, 25% Christian, 20% Hindu, 3% Jewish, 2% agnostic, atheist or other.
Government: Currently there is no recognized government. Previously it was considered a Secular Presidential Republic.

Overview of Antarctic Socialist Republic:

Population: 405 million
Capital (and largest city): St. Augustine ; 11 million
Official Languages: Antarctic French (mutually unintelligible with standard)
Ethnic Groups: complex; derived from multiple European and East Asian countries but modern citizens largely have a new ethnic identity "Antarctic"; very few recent immigrants
Religious Groups: Catholic (official)
Government: One-Party Bureaucratic Dictatorship
Currency: Planned Economy; no internal currency, external promissory notes are issued for foreign transactions if necessary.

Tentative and at this point relatively covert support to Christian rebels, willing to revise; broader geopolitical goal is to secure the rise of an aligned government in the region.

Additional Relevant Country Information:

Demography: Population grew rapidly in the 20th century, but now rapidly aging, with population decline expected by 2040 at the latest. Life expectancy/child mortality in line with developed nation.

Government: No independent legislature or judiciary, and no elections. Government is divided into secretariats, leading council is the Central Party Directorate of the Communist Party of Antarctica

Economy: Economy is largely planned, using a mixture of older material balance planning and new methods using distributed computation; unimpressive GDP per capita by western standards, largely industrial and agricultural. Competitive in some fields such as aerospace technology, but hopelessly behind on telecommunications due to self-imposed restrictions. Internet not available inside nation.

Energy: Primarily nuclear power, no domestic petroleum/natural gas reserves

Military: non-NPT nuclear weapons state, substantial conventional forces

I've sent a TG already but I'll post for everyone's benefit. I'll be intervening primarily to go after Islamic extremists and mostly limiting to special forces, strike fighters and drones. In theory I'm an independent force but in practice I'll be working with remnant government forces from time to time since my fight isn't with them. When I get home and can post on an actual computer I'll probably write up an ORBAT.

TG'd. Will be supporting the Loyalists if accepted -- principally the Orenzyesi Martyr's Brigade. The People's Revolutionary Front is not large enough to properly secure SR interests in the area and stand a chance of winning, they reckon. That having been said, the general intention is also to pull Amzran under Reinkalistani geopolitical sway through this intervention, perhaps at costs to its sovereignty.

I left my post open ended because I didn't want to step on OPs toes by deciding for myself if the house my guys are entering has anyone in it or not and I'm not sure what the rule for players doing things with civilians and NPC factions on their own is.

TGed but as Dayganistan will also post here. I will, should I’ll be accepted RP a lone merc pilot and her RIO/technician. Most likely I will bring a MiG-31/F-15C hybrid. After all roleplaying gun-for-hire always was a fun thing, right?
As an IRL example of what I’m going to RP look towards Vagif Gurbanov expect she’ll mostly CAP and intercept.
