World, stop voting now!

Semi Finals 1 & 2 for the Landa vy Polkopiya have both concluded, meaning that it's time to reveal who will be qualifying to the Grand Final for a chance to win one of Polkopia's biggest annual music award shows in the country. The winner of the Landa vy Polkopiya will have the opportunity to represent Polkopia at the Worldvision Song Contest - the largest music competition in the multiverse! This edition, the Landa vy Polkopiya drew interest from eight different nations, with each of them sending a team of music experts to vote on who was to qualify for the Grand Final. The two qualifying acts from each semi-final are decided in this matter, whereas the Wildcard spot is awarded to a non-qualifying entry that the Polkopian jury feels as if though it deserves a place in the Grand Final. With the four qualifiers and one Wildcard spot, there are to be five acts competing in the Grand Final, each of them vying for the top spot in the competition.

Semi Final 1 Votes:

The following scoreboard shows the results for Semi Final 1. Juries from the Achaean Republic, Britonisea, Ertzei Kishim, Norrp, Talvezout, and Tödlichebujoku have all voted in this semi-final.

As always, the PNB thanks the participating nations' broadcasters for sharing interest in the Polkopian music scene, and your contribution is well-regarded. CarrelieOne presents the Carrelian host bid!

Image

That's right, we're bidding again! This time, instead of our 7th largest city, our largest city will be playing host!

Celebrate Haufenburg!

Ah, Haufenburg! It's not only Carrelie's largest city, beating Densmouth by 1 million people, but also one of its most historic! It was the capital for almost 500 years, and it clearly shows! From historical buildings such as the Grand Imperial Palace and the Haufenburger Dom to tall skyscrapers such as Königinturm, Haufenburg encapsulates all aspects of Carrelian life in one city!

Image

For more information about Haufenburg, see here!

Celebrate the venue!

Image

The night's venue will be the Grand Centre! Opened in January 2013 to accompany the CarrelieHall and King Frederick Auditorium in the Haufenburg Events Park (HEP), this stunning pillar of architecture can house 26,000 people - more than enough for the Worldvision Song Contest! Over its 8 years of existence, it's seen many a notable artist perform on its stage, such as Marie Loisenne and Ann Sophie, as well as hosting many sports tournaments! For the contest, each of the panels visible from the front will be fitted with an LED screen, and they'll all display a country's national colours, one after the other - a true celebration of Worldvision!

Image

Above is a seating chart, showing the arena's interior. You may wonder what the seats in the back are, and the 3 directly behind the stage are for the Haufenburg Metropolitan Orchestra, which will perform for an entry upon request! It's truly a celebration of live music!

Celebrate the stage!

The stage is truly a hallmark of technology. With numerous expressive LCD screens in both the back and on the stage floor sure to light up an artist's performance, it's truly a celebration of stage technology! Of course, the usual effects such as pyrotechnics and copious amounts of smoke will be available for your performances, so your artists can really express themselves!

Image

In the front there will of course be a platform, where the artist can get closer to the audience! The spectators will be delighted to see them up close - it'll truly be a magical performance. Around the platform is another LCD screen, which can display all sorts of images! The joke entries will have fun destroying this one!

Image

Celebrate the hosts!

Ah, the hosts! They're what really bring a show together, the ones that guide us through it! For the night, we'll be joined by 2 lovely hosts to help the show along, because Ms Loisenne will be a bit busy on the day and it's too hard to say "3 hosts"! These are both experienced musicians and hosts, with a repetoire of skills that'll surely come in handy along the way!

Image

On the left is Vian Genamman - a beloved grandmother, a kind face and an amazing person overall, she'll provide a familiar face in uncharted territory! She's had plenty of experience in the field of hosting, being the host of Eurovision 2005 and the CBA's primary newscaster from 2000 to 2010!

And on the right is Marien Lochnette - singer-songwriter, pop icon, absolute queen of Carrelian pop! Since her WV86 participation, she's gotten a real glow up, and will act as a bold personality and relatable figure for the audience! After winning CarrelieVision, Carrelie's internal selection for the 86th contest, she hosted CarrelieVision 87, which selected Les Quatre Chanteuses to represent Carrelie!

Celebrate the show!

And now for the main part - the show! It'll be welcoming to newcomers, with a song explaining what Worldvision is and much guidence and words of wisdom from Vian in particular.

The opening will feature a video and much celebration, with the interval act featuring a celebration of music old and new, with a new single from Marien herself and featuring the legendary Marie Loisenne!

Celebrate the scoreboard!

Ah, the scoreboard! Local designer Helena Steube has stolen from Normandy & Picardy created this wonderful scoreboard with a unifying motif, really fitting into the overall design theme of the contest! With soft corners and professional design, it's a real celebration of graphic design!

Image

We are willing to sacrifice the title to include more nations, do not worry!

Celebrate the postcards!

And of course, we have the postcards! These are also designed by Steube, and feature information about the entry and the word 'Celebrate!' in the participant's native language - the world's living a celebration! The gradients here are based off of the respective nation's national colours, creating a beautiful design!

The bulk of the postcard will be a celebration of the country it's representing. For example, Carrelie's postcard will feature a view of Carrelian culture, Carrelian food, and our thriving arts industry!

ImageImage

And that's not all! During a performance, the graphic below will appear, with the order of its running along with information about the entry! If the writer and composer of the song are disclosed, they will be included below the artist's name!

Image

Celebrate the closing comments and acknowledgements!

So, here's some closing comments and things related to the bid!

• Remember that your artist will be required to self-isolate upon arrival - we don't want our COVID situation flaring up again!
• I'd like to thank Monsieur Normandy and Picardy for both hosting WHF 57 and 58, and for inspiring this bid's graphics!
• On the off chance that this does win I'll institute a soft deadline - you'll have until 23:59 BST on the 17th of May to submit and finish your entries!
• Also if this does win I'll encourage Ele to use his bid again because it's great, good job! :)
• Remember that all the graphics are subject to change, though they will stay mostly the same

Thank you and we hope to see you in Haufenburg very soon so we can celebrate music together!

RESULTS SHOW

Hello and welcome to the result show! All acts has been sung, all juries has been called, all televotes has been called in. Today, we'll know, who will get that golden trophy. We'll start immediately.

First up, International Juries. Before we start we would like to thank the juries from Achaean Republic, Malta Comino Gozo, Elejamie, Llalta, Caryton, Carrelie, Britonisea, and Kalosia.

Well, everyone definitely wants to know who won the international juries' hearts, and we'll show you on the scoreboard, right.... NOW
Image

Well it looks like South Alezia is taking the lead! A very surprising feat considering that they were previously the world's laughingstock! I guess no one really messes with South Alezia...

Next up, Televoting. Many people voted, either through calling the number, clicking the button, voting on the app, or going to your nearest Faba or Tompelinaar. And we divided it into 8 cities, Zafizamarrah and Pyalivostok for North Alezia, Doorsbreeken and Hallevierste for South Alezia, Khsmili and Trishi for Mosin-Nagan, and finally Bucinnois and Herliefaarst for Pantabang Islands. Those who called, got its votes gathered into the city nearest to them. And this is how it goes. Put that in the scoreboard real quick...

Image

Looks like everyone wanted to Kiss North Alezia because look at this! Now Kiss Me won the televoting. But is that enough to guarantee her a ticket?

Well, we counted the international juries. We counted the public votes. Now, we add those two together like Grade 2 Math, and we got... Put that in the scoreboard...

Image

Well looks like there is no more disputing! We have a winner, and that winner is...
Image

Congratulations! Come get your trophy and reprise the song! Good luck in Worldvision!
That concludes this season's Alma, we'll see you again, next season! See you!

Nightom returns!

Postby Nightom » Thu Apr 29, 2021 2:53 pm

Nightom returns to the WorldVision Song Contest with "Cloud 9" by Henry Nikkelsen!

Image

Listen to the song here!

Nightom returns to celebrate 45 editions since it's debut at WV45...

It is now the 45th anniversary since Nightom first debuted at the 45th WorldVision Song Contest and so we thought that Nightom would participate in the 90th WorldVision Song Contest. We didn't do too well at the last contest, but Nightom does have a 1st place scored 35 editions ago and a 6th place scored only 5 editions ago. We are hoping that with Henry's song "Cloud 9" that Nightom will gain another score that we can be proud of! Henry is 22 years old and is from the capital of the country, Knightingham - home to over 3.4 million people.

Nightom is an oddball at the competition, especially when comparing it to its other ABEN compatriots. Nightom has participated in the contest 7 times before, with this being the 8th participation - the lowest of all ABEN nations. While none of the other ABEN nations can come close to the record Britonisea has set at the WorldVision Song Contest, Nightom is the only other ABEN nation to have won the contest - 35 editions ago - that is despite Estogium having competed at the WorldVision Song Contest more than three times more than Nightom - still without a victory to its name. Nightom has also secured ABEN's fourth highest point's total since the introduction of the televote (after 252, 242, 211) with 187 points. Though, when Nightom does badly - it does very badly. Nightom has had the privilage to place lower than 20th on three different occassions - but here's hoping that won't happen at this upcoming contest!

And do you feel scared? I do but I won't stop and falter.

Seriously, a huge thank you to everyone who voted for Avon 90. I'm honestly surprised and overjoyed by this. I don't really know what to say other than to thank everyone. Other than, of course, my commisserations to Carrelie and his incredibly amazing bid. It's a shame it didn't win but I'd honestly recommend re-sending it for WV91. The only thing you need to do is just beef up the text and maybe change one or two things to "91", everything else is brilliant and doesn't need any improvement or changes. I genuinely wish you the best of luck in this competition and in the bidding for the next one.

A couple of extra notes now that I've won:

  • The IC thread will be up at some point between 10-10:30pm BST. This'll give me enough time to eat my dinner and to get enough of my OP done to make it presentable.
  • Captions will be added every Monday for nations with finished entries.
  • I will be making postcards. Like, actual proper postcardy things. The only thing I need from everyone is basically something that's popular in your nation, something or someone well-known from your nation and/or a concept that's common enough in your nation to make people think of it. And, of course, how it all ties in. Please send all of this information to me in a DM on Discord or TG it to my puppet Placely Placington. For an example of what I'm going to do with them, here you go.

One last thank you to everyone who voted for me. I wish everyone the best and I urge them all to Make Dreams Come True®. OK, I'll stop waffling now and try and see if I can make a damn good competition despite this busted keyboard of mine.

I'd also like to apologise for the double post but I wanted to let everyone who isn't on the Discord server to know that AVON 90 is now officially live: viewtopic.php?f=4&t=504174

Well, it's been live for about half an hour now but, regardless, I hope everyone's booked their tickets, made their preparations and are ready to rock the multiverse. Best of luck to everyone and may the best entry win.
