Recalling that Minineenee's coup against the West Pacific was relatively brief compared to other such coups, even in the West Pacific itself, though its impact on the West Pacific led to future coups by other nations and general destabilization of democracy;

Yes Neenee’s coup was short lived - she held the Delegacy for about a week before resigning. But it was a key event in the history of TWP as others here have said.

I was a member of TWP, gameside and in our forums. To say that Neenee was a figurehead would be completely inaccurate; she was very much a driving force in the coup as far as I can remember.

And using anything Biyah might have said is a foundation built on quicksand. Great at self-promotion.....

I'll be opposing the repeal since Minineenee's coup of TWP has a short but lasting impact on the region as well as the fact that she's not just a figurehead in the coup.

Listen...

I know for the fact I’ve heard Biyah and others say exactly what Cormac wrote — the Empire’s MO was always to use women as friendly faces to lead their operations publicly — it draws inspiration from the (not totally unsuccessful) Stars of Sky op. It’s textbook ADN stuff. This claim is not unfounded — it was how Biyah, especially, operated and he boasted about it frequently.

However — I also think you should remove this clause from the draft, Cormac. It’s inappropriate. It’s dismissing people’s GP involvement based off their gender. Or at least that’s how it comes off as.

Edit: also, welcome back to the SC, Cormac!

I said this in the RR thread for the condemnation, and it still appears true to me:
[The] attempts to coup TRR weren't very good. :P

I think a lot of the condemnation is "Empire bad", but apart from the TEP coup in 2008, does not really set out Neenee's role. I think that is likely because, in truth, the contributions have not been that great since then. Against, but open to changing my mind.

If Neenee was mostly a figurehead, that tracks with my understanding of her limited role, and should be mentioned. The reason for which Biyah chose Neenee as a figurehead does not seem relevant to the repeal.

To sum, with some amendments, I think this could be a strong repeal proposal.

The Recognizing clause is a weak argument, and doesn't relate to any other part of the resolution and thus seems awkwardly thrown in. Should be removed.

After careful consideration -- which is to say, deciding on a whim within the past half hour or so, which is also a decent summary of how this proposal came to be -- I've decided not to pursue this draft as I think it has little likelihood of passing, if for no other reason than I'm the author.

If anyone would ever like to use any portion of this draft for a repeal, please feel free.
