[Joke] The Unicameral Reversal Issue

Postby Annihilators of Chan Island » Wed Apr 21, 2021 5:45 am

Look, Imma be real with you chief. We at the Got Issues? forum have absolutely no clue how to undo your decision to have only one chamber in your parliament. Why'd you even do that anyway, you just chose a disgusting half-way house between a dictator with no legislature and a fully democrat government constantly arguing with each other in 2 different rooms. Get your life in order, Jesus. So get this instead. Congratulations.

validity: Won't be a real issue
Has unicameralism

[option] "Oh thank God I'm relevant now!" Shouts @@RANDOMNAME@@, the long-suffering head of the Bicameral Support Group, which recently has seen more success by providing its members therapy instead of campaigning on such a cursed, doomed issue. "At long last, a worthy, contrived time, my speech shall be legendary!.... Um, yeah, second chambers are cool. Do that."
[effect] congratulations, you now have a senate as well as a parliament, happy?

[option] "Oh my gooooood, what are we like this?" Moans @@RANDOMNAME@@, I dunno some rando who for some reason has an opinion. "Isn't one room like, totes cool right now? Why are we even discussing this at such a forced time anyway? I'm going home."
[effect] I hope you like getting this trashfire again, because you just voted to get this again.

[option] "Hm, this is actually such a fascinating subject, says a nerd overthinking things. "Uni versus bicameralism is definitely a worthy issue, and one that could have wide-reaching implications for the game. On the one hand, it can be argued, legislation is done faster, but in the other, we arguably have it more democratic. There are myriad scenarios where such a thing could come about as a relevant discussion too, like immediately after a revolution, during a time of great existential crisis for the state, or maybe some crackpot starts mucking things up on the national level. Maybe it could be embraced as a fringe thing, with the scenario just being some nutter cornering you and arguing. Whatever the case, it's such a tragedy that we are resorting to this instead of taking the time to productively make our own issue with a well-thought out scenario, compelling characters, humour...."
[effect] hey! Why'd you throw the ball back into our court?! We donnu what to do with it?! Take it back!

[option] "All in favour of burning this guy at the stake, say "Aye', " says a bored-looking biker ganger, to a thunderous chorus of 'aye'. It's too late for you to stop them, everyone has already grasped the nerd and are piling up the stake. Soon, the sweet merciful embers of the elements will make that awful previous speaker go away. But, there is still time. Yup. You can still say 'aye' and join in the ritual. Maybe with this death, you can banish this subject forever, never to be spoken of again.
[effect] wow, you just burned a man to death, over bicameralism of all things? That's brutal. Now stay the hell away from me you psycho.
This nation is modeled on being my absolute worst dystopia imaginable. In no way do the Annihilators reflect my opinions, in fact I am totally against almost every single policy they enact.
I support insanely high tax rates, do you?

I honestly really like to write issues.

Effect lines are way too long. Otherwise, great issue, needs to be submitted.

What's with you people and cameras? If something's that important to you you shouldn't need a picture to remember how it looks.
Stay safe, be kind, and have a great day! :)

Finally a serious issue suggestion.

If you're under fire in the no-man's land of WW1, you start digging a foxhole even if the ideal time would be when you *aren't* being bombarded, because once you wait for it to be 'time', other situations will need your attention, assuming you survive that long. If the fields aren't furrowed, plow them. If the iron is not hot, make it so. If society is not ready, change it.
