"Hello and welcome back to ENN Tournament Report, I'm your host Alana Markai. The final six games in Reçueçn's half of the group stage just wrapped up, so let's see who'll be moving on and who'll be taking the long flight home."

Innovative 0 - 2 Qzvarkian Qaz
"This win was critical for Qzvarkian Qaz, who just secured the second playoff spot in Group A. Innovative may be down, but they certainly aren't out, since the wild-card race is still wide open."

Central Antarctic Peninsula 2 - 6 Brookstation
"You can say what you will about this tournament, but it's certainly had its fair share of 6-2 games, with St. Trinian's clobbering Deniria by the same score on Matchday 2. For Brookstation, this secures them a better seeding than Qzvarkian Qaz, but nothing else that they didn't already have. Sadly for many in Eshialand, Central Antarctic Peninsula's loss seals their fate: they won't be advancing to the knockout rounds."

Galeanna 1 - 0 Revlona
"The Dragons didn't exactly have anything to play for on this day, but it didn't stop them from earning the win and truly proving themselves worthy of their entry to the knockout stages. As for Revlona, this loss was the definitive end, finishing fourth in Group B."

Talkasa 3 - 1 Kannap
"Talkasa's win, along with Revlona's loss, has secured them a wild-card slot in the round of 16, with both Innovative and Gergary finishing third in their respective groups with fewer points."

Tolanka 0 - 0 Gergary
"A scoreless draw here is exactly what a messy Group C didn't need here, but clarity would come in the form of..."

Bunkaiia 0 - 2 Marigred
"With this win, the Marigred side secure themselves a spot in the knockouts while eliminating Bunkaiia. The resulting tie between Gergary, Sendhang, and Tolanka had to be solved using head-to-head points, securing Tolanka a playoff spot, with Eshian fan favorites Sendhang sadly being eliminated from the competition."

"We'll be back later with the results from Electrum, and indeed, our very own Owls' fate..."
Anything I say is IC unless proven otherwise by a court of law.

To ensure that teams that were in the same group would not meet up in the round of 16, the following pairs of teams, which were judged to be the most similar, swapped seeds: Talkasa and Suimede (both teams were on the bottom with six points), and Brookstation and St Trinians (both teams had the same points and goal difference). Therefore, the fixtures are:

(1) Sahuarita vs (16) Talkasa at Stade National, Reçueçn
(8) Montaña Verde vs (9) Qzvarkian Qaz at Stade de la Réforme, Genève
(4) Brookstation vs (13) Le Choix at Stade Carl III, Reçueçn
(5) Islands of Ventro vs (12) Tolanka at Siegstadion, Zimmerich

(2) Atheara vs (15) Suimede at Northcote Oval, Prescott
(7) Galeanna vs (10) Srednjaci at Walkers Stadium, Agri
(3) St Trinians vs (14) Aut-Ves-Nat at Hamilton Multi-Purpose Venue, Hamilton
(6) Marigred vs (11) Eshialand at Sailors Stadium, Port Grenville

We will then have a knockout competition to the finals. The final of the 75th edition of the Baptism of Fire will be hosted at Olympic Stadium, Centralis while the third place playoff will be hosted at Stade National, Reçueçn. Please also note that tomorrow is a scheduled non-scorination day. If your nation has changed country during this reseeding process, please note your new cutoff time, as posted in the thread OP.

The Whole New Order

Today we will review the Overall Rankings and the Fixtures for the Round of 16 in this Baptism of Fire

First we will review the Overall Rankings. Sahuarita is considered the strongest team so far, with a Game Statistics of 4-0-0 in their Group Stage and 12 Points to their name. With the next three names, drawed one game. They are Atheara, Brookstation, and St Trinians in Rank Order. And with Islands of Ventro being at fifth, with 3-0-1 and 9 Points to their name. What is very crazy however, is that the only team to not concede a single goal so far is Atheara.

And with the last five names being Tolanka, Le Choix, Aut-Ves-Nat, Talkasa, and Suimede in decreasing order. The Matchups/Fixtures have been confirmed by one of the Baptism of Fire Hosts, being Electrum. Here are the Fixtures Below.

(1) Sahuarita vs (16) Talkasa at Stade National, Reçueçn
Most of us are sure to see a dominating Sahuarita in the game between them and Talkasa, due to Talkasa having a not so great performance during the Group Stage, but the Gods of Fortune could change it...

(8) Montaña Verde vs (9) Qzvarkian Qaz at Stade de la Réforme, Genève
With Montana Verde, their run was quite good. And Qzvarkian Qaz, they were quite the wild card. Two teams with quite different results of a similar playstyle would be interesting to predict... Any bets, anyone here?

(4) Brookstation vs (13) Le Choix at Stade Carl III, Reçueçn
With Brookstations agressive playstyle clashing against Le Choix, many might as well wonder on how Brookstation could win. Most likely there will be over three goals, granted most by them. But Le Choix also may have a chance here...

(5) Islands of Ventro vs (12) Tolanka at Siegstadion, Zimmerich
The Islands of Ventro, whom were champions of their group will be facing against Tolanka, whom got the safe bet of passing from their Group C three-way tie break! Both will want to prove they have the right to stay in the tournament!

(2) Atheara vs (15) Suimede at Northcote Oval, Prescott
Now for our own National Team! Atheara vs Suimede, whom barely scraped a qualification by third place play-offs! Will Atheara's Clean Sheet, Clean Sweep Streak be broken? Or will Suimede break the record?

(7) Galeanna vs (10) Srednjaci at Walkers Stadium, Agri
Galeanna whom was second in our group will be facing Srednjaci. With Srednjaci being the favourites to win, both sides will be fighting with blood and sweat to keep their chances at glory alive!

(3) St Trinians vs (14) Aut-Ves-Nat at Hamilton Multi-Purpose Venue, Hamilton
The women of St Trinians have done very well and will be facing Aut-Ves-Nat whom was second in third place play-offs! Will the women be stopped or will the people of the boat nation proceed to the next round?

(6) Marigred vs (11) Eshialand at Sailors Stadium, Port Grenville
Eshialand whom are Athearan's fan favourite will be facing Marigred whom was able to take a win from the chaos of Group C and be their group's champions! Who do you all think can continue to the next phase?

See you all in the Round of 16!

Islands of Ventro 3-0 Naufre

In an exciting turn of events Islands of Ventro has taken the one seed in our group after it’s going three unanswered points. This is ultimately leading to Islands of Ventro taking on the 12 seed in the round of 16 after securing the qualifying.

The real victory goes to the high and mighty scoot pilgrem who can in after James Charlie left the field on a injury (more on him later) while not impacting the stat line to much he had all three of what we like to call ATA or a assist to a assist. He great at passing and managed to turn the ball over once.

Zach Miller was also outstanding with 1 goal and two assists,he can in after Kevin Hate was pulled out due to missing 4 shots on goal early in the first half. On the field he was the master of crosses netting as total of 6 of them, two of them leading to a goal.

Spencer Kazawimgnut was the penalty god, both offenses and defensively, he scored a goal in the waning minutes of the game and assisted on a goal. He needed up leaving the game in the 87th minute cause of his multiple yellows but not before shell shocking the defense with his 4 goal kicks (none of them made it).

Here is a quote from the coach,

“ we have every right to be in this situation, and some other tournaments we get lucky but now this is just pure skill my players are playing with their fullest and most determination I’ve ever seen them play well considering this is the first time they played together,If we win this it might even be enough to make this old man cry”

Play for the draw, Owls!
Eshialand 0 - 0 The united states of sonindia

The Owls knew they wanted to win, even though they didn't have to. That night at the Hamilton Multi-Purpose Venue, there was so much going through the team's mind... they knew this Sonindian team was a lot worse than them, but Coach would rather them draw for some strange reason... what in the world could that reason be?

The game began, and that's when things started to get weird... the players were directly disobeying Coach! They were playing offense for a win!

In the 11th minute, Jacob Harran had the perfect chance to score his fifth(!) of the tournament off of a beautiful pass by Melissa Carey, but the shot was stopped by Frank Gary.

The rest of the half was rather uneventful, with some chances either way, but nothing huge. Then, at the half, Coach explained what was going on and why he wanted then to draw.

"Who you play in the first round of the tournament is always key. A better seeding is usually a lot better, giving you easier opponents down the line... but not really in this case. If we just let them draw, it looks like we'll only have to play Marigred. Sure, they are group winners, but they won Group C, so they're not actually any better than us."

"I am extremely worried that something may go wrong and one of these shots is gonna beat Christian, and if that happens, it's all over, and we'll be spending the knockouts sitting at home, watching these goofballs somehow do better than us, with a beer in one hand and regret in the other. I'm sure that none of you actually want that, so please, can you just take the draw?"

And that they did. They played a locked-down defense, and when they did get the ball, they mostly passed it between each other. They were choking the Sonindian side, preventing then from getting any chances to save their tournament.

Until the second minute of extra time. John Smith managed to get a good shot on target, and Meers couldn't quite stop it, but only deflect it to the side, almost travelling parallel to the goal line. When he finally stopped it, the Sonindians celebrated. They were sure it had gone in, and that their tournament was saved... but upon review, they found that the ball was still on the line, never fully crossing over. NO GOAL!

The final score stood at 0-0, exactly the draw Coach was asking for. They had just drawn against a team they previously had considered a pushover, but they didn't care. They were going to the knockouts, and nobody could ever take that away from them.

The Owls couldn't celebrate for long, however, since they would have to train hard for the next game. From now on, there wouldn't be any drawing, only sweet, sweet victory and tournament-ending defeat...

"Hello and welcome back to ENN Tournament Report, I am your host Alana Markai, and as you can tell, I am wearing my full blue Owls home kit because ESHIALAND IS GOING TO THE PLAYOFFS BABY!!" she clears her throat and continues in a very neutral tone of voice, "Now, let's look the last six games in the group stage to see who else is moving on."

Eshialand 0 - 0 The united states of sonindia
"All our heroic Owls needed was a draw and they delivered on that promise, holding Sonindia scoreless in a complete and utter nailbiter. Eshialand will now start their knockouts against Marigred, who has the same record as them."

Islands Of Ventro 3 - 0 Naufre
"This win for the Islanders puts them in the top spot of Group D, with their next game being against the unpredictable Tolanka. How will they fare? Who will win?"

Istoreya 0 - 1 St. Trinian's
"This loss sadly marks the end of the line for Istoreya, with the win over Deniria having been the high point of their tournament. St. Trinian's next game looks to be against Aut-Ves-Nat, meaning we'll finally get an answer to the most important question in history: will John Opie propose to Temperance Porter? What, it's a valid question!"

Le Choix 2 - 0 Deniria
"While les Élus may have scored the win in this one, they're far from out of the woods, as their first playoff game is going to be against Cinderella story Brookstation, who went undefeated in their group stage."

Montana Verde 3 - 2 Bigtopian Isles
"With Montana Verde's win here, they have secured themselves second place in Group F and the right to play Qzvarkian Qaz. These are two very evenly matched teams, so who will come out on top?"

Suimede 1 - 0 Grandistania
"And with that, Suimede has clinched the final playoff spot, eliminating both Innovative and Gergary from contention. However, the victory is somewhat pyrrhic, as they're now doomed to suffer the pain of playing Eshian fan favorite Atheara, who still haven't conceded a single goal. Will they somehow upset Atheara, or will their hopes end there?"

"Thanks for watching ENN Tournament Report, I've been Alana Markai, and remember, GO OWLS!"

Baptism of Fire

PAIRS OF THE SIXTEENTH FINALS OF THE KNOCK OUT PHASE DRAWED !!

Mario Božović :That's it, we no longer have the right to stumble. what we experimented, we experimented. One mistake and no going back because this is a knock out phase!
Our opponent is the awkward Galeanna.
What we know about the opponent and what other couples are like with us will be commented on by our experts. President of the football referees in Srednjaci, Josip Žerić, coach and manager of the football club Dinamo Katanija Vilim Božić and former national team member Mario Udarović.
Gentlemen, welcome.
Before we continue, a small snippet of what has been and what awaits us. Colleague Ana Šimić.

ANA ŠIMIĆ
SREDNJACI
The path of our footballers was not easy at all. The team's performance in the previous tournament did not end well. However, something good came out of it all. Our players, playing matches together, were getting better and better. The blend of individual quality had to fit into the team. Outside serial players such as Matković, Peng, Tavano, Zimmer and others had to show skill to be team players. The first match came and the opponent is Istoreya. The dominant match of our players turned into a 2-0 victory and both goals were scored by Isidor Matković. Then it was played against a dangerous opponent Le Choix! With the victory we are in the knockout phase with one foot and with the defeat we go to the waiting room. Before the match, the goal, victory and three points were clearly set. A solid match gave birth to a new hero, and that is Li Peng. On the assist of Davida Zimmer, Li Peng scored the only goal of the match and brought 3 points. Self-confidence is at its peak, we are going for the third victory against Deniria.
The rhapsody of the beauty of the game of football against an objectively weaker team ended 4: 2! There could have been 2 more goals in Daniria's net, but the crossbar and the goalpost were block shots.
And then coach Hrvoje pulls the main players to the bench in the last game against the strongest opponent St. Trinians. Lozančić and Županović didn't take opportunities of the opponent and that is the first defeat. Although the knock out phase is ensured, this defeat gives us a tougher opponent, Galeanna.

GALEANNA

Galeanna is an all-male undefeated team. They play well in attack. Their journey started with a draw against one of the favorites, Atheara. At the end of the match it was 0: 0 although the odds ratio was 17:14 for Galeanna.
Second round and first victory against Talkasa of 3: 2. In the third round, they beat Kannap 4-3. Goals and opportunities abounded on all sides but Galeanna managed to keep the advantage.
In the last match, a 1-0 victory against Revlona. Galeanna finished second in her group.

Mario Božović : Ana thank you for this article and analysis. Gentlemen, we have seen everything in this. We will start from you, Mr. Christmas, how do you see this situation?

BOŽIĆ: I saw all those articles in the media attacking Hrvoje Tatomir's decision to leave the main players on vacation. I think I would do the same. There are two reasons for this. The first reason is that he is aware that he has great players in the first team who are well-coordinated and who need to rest and the second phase has already been secured. With such players you can win at any time. The second reason is that the players from the bench have to warm up and play. The coach must know who is in what competitive form, whom he can count on. This last game, despite the defeat, gave the impression that we have a lot of quality players on the bench.

REPORTER: So you wouldn't change anything?

BOŽIĆ: Look, there's nothing to change. You have players at your disposal, you occasionally introduce some to the game to check but at one point you have to check them all. And when are you going to do that? Well better to do it in moments when everything is resolved than to get stuck in the knock out phase.

REPORTER: Mr. Žerić, there were no judges in the tournament. How is the trial at the tournament?

ŽERIĆ: The trial in the previous part of the tournament was correct and correct. There were no objections to the football refereeing.

REPORTER: Mr. Udarović, how do you see our players in the knock out phase?

UDAROVIĆ: our players have higher quality than Galeanna players. Our players are tactically better and know how to tactically play. Galeanna players are physically scattered, they shoot from all sides, so if the ball hits the target, then it's great. The attack is their far stronger side. Our opportunity is their permeable defense. Galeanna is thin in defense, their defensive players do not react well under pressure. They conceded 5 goals in two games.

BOŽIĆ: I agree with this analysis. We have to put pressure on their back line. Our defense is stronger and more compact. It is true that their attack is also strong, but it is no stronger than the teams we played against, for example, Le Choix.

REPORTER: qualifications for WC 88 are often mentioned now, preparations are underway, what about stadiums?

BOŽIĆ: Yes, for such inquiries you need to invite people from the alliance. But I will tell you right away that stadiums are being built. One of the most beautiful will be the "Volcano" in the city of Kula. The construction of the stadium in DormatisI is in full swing. But for the qualifiers we have enough stadiums to play. However, for football to continue to grow, projects like this are desperately needed.

REPORTER: Here we can see what it looks like.

From the website of the news magazine The New Week National Atlantic News Spectating Economist Time Man.
In A Town On The Slopes To Heaven, One Priest’s Book Stirs The Pot

10,000 feet above sea level, the town of Herehuita sits on the Tápiz Plateau in the region of Oaxacoalcos, Montaña Verde. Rich mineral deposits have long been the lifeblood of the nearby mining city of San Juza, but in Herehuita, most men work on the land and most women in the textile factory at the base of the Tocero mountain. No one is working today, though, instead crowded into the Church of San Felikall, where the Baptism of Fire game against Bigtopian Isles is being broadcast. There are ominous mutterings: although the Condors are assured of passage to the knockout rounds regardless of the result, the decision of coach Enriqueta to rest stars Osito and Primitivo has not sat well with the Verdean supporter as their team limps to a 2 – 2 draw with the team from the Bigtopian Isles. Suddenly, a cry cuts through the murmurs as a long throw-in from Justin finds Emma with space to run past Kagiso Mitchell. She threads the needle to Thiago Montilla, local legend in Herehuita having grown up in nearby Itazón, who chips the ball past a stranded Robert Mphosa for the winner.

The crowd erupt, spilling out onto the street (they miss the exciting final moments as Mateo gives up a penalty only to save it). Behind in the basement, toppled chairs and empty bottles of beer, paper plates and miniature national flags litter the floor. A small figure, small even by Verdean standards, begins the busy work of sweeping up the detritus. Peering carefully through thick, round glasses, 58 year old Father Sebastian Mariano Ruiz wields his broom and bin-bag as one who has been left to sweep up before after many parties and celebrations. It seems a humble task for a man whose book is threatening to ignite a theological revolution. Herehuita lies on the La Lijona fault line; tremors are common here, and 47 years ago much of the town was destroyed in a massive earthquake. 12 years ago a rock-slide caused the deaths of several children. All had been baptised and confirmed by Father Mariano; all were buried by him. He is no stranger to tectonic activity and the earth threatening to split open; he has just not usually been responsible for them himself.

After he is done sweeping, Father Mariano locks up the church and takes us to a nearby cafe for a late coffee, cleaning his glasses furiously as the rich, dark espresso is prepared. He admits he is not a big fútbol fan and recounts a story from his childhood. “I was playing in goal, and I became so captivated by the beauty of a butterfly, feeding on some bushes near the field. I wandered from my spot and did not notice the opposition score. It was the first time I had truly felt the awe of His creation,” he chuckles, “But perhaps also the time I realized I was not cut out to play goalkeeper!” Instead of the training academy, he headed for the seminary, then the universidad for an advanced degree in divinity. But the life of a scholar was never for him: ministry called, and after spells in the slums of Santa Margarita, he found himself in Herehuita. “It is my home,” he says simply.

He plays the part of the humble local priest convincingly, but behind those glasses glitter keen, dark, intelligent eyes. He has written a book. His congregation express bemusement. “Is it about dinosaurs?” ask some of the boys, hopefully; many dinosaur fossils have been discovered in the Tápiz, and Father Mariano leads an annual church school trip to the Museum of Paleontology in San Juza, always the highlight of the school year. The book is not about dinosaurs, he confesses, but the faintest of smiles plays across the thin lips below his neatly trimmed facial hair. Because in a way, it is. A Theology of Emancipation excoriates past generations of Verdean clergy for their failures of ministry, ignoring the suffering of an impoverished country to pursue arcane theological debates and cower subserviently to the whims of wealthy Rushmori congregations. And some of those dinosaurs have begun to roar.

In Græntfjall and Schutzenphalia & West Ruhntuhnkuhnland, conservatives have turned their ire on Father Mariano and the wider “emancipation theology” movement associated with his book, accusing priests like him of everything from the infusion of “Marxist doctrine” into Catholic teachings to outright heresy. In the words of Cardinal Jannik Eyjarsson, Father Mariano is “a dangerous radical”; Archbishop Lukas Weisman called his book “filth, trash, abomination”. There have been calls for the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith to defrock Father Mariano, a development he describes as “as upsetting as it is ludicrous”. Some Verdean newspapers have accused his critics of wanting “a new Inquisition”.

For all his twinkling jocularity, it is clear some of the criticism deeply unnerves Father Mariano. For one accused of being a Marxist, he honors as his martyred brothers several priests killed in recent years by radical leftist groups affiliated to the People’s Army of Liberation groups; but nor will he shy away from urging compassion, charity, and action in his sermons. Indeed, after he is finished with his coffee, he will be taking a delivery of goods to a nearby shelter for former prostitutes, who have left the brothels surrounding the mining camps in the valley. Tomorrow, he will be running a soup kitchen and distributing alms at the indigenous reservation, undeterred by podium-thumping Cardinals and Bishops a thousand miles away. And preparing for the Condors’ Round of 16 match? He laughs, and invites us to the screening; after all, he says, he will need help sweeping up afterwards.

Marigred Senior Camp Report
Day 8 Baptism of Fire 75

"GROUP STAGE CLEAR AS MARIGRED BEAT BUNKAIIA 2-0 IN LAST GAME"

Renwyll, Recuecn (June 20 2100)--Marigred confirm the slot to Round of 16 as group C champion after beat Bunkaiia 2-0. Come down with must win mission, a goal from Zima King and Damarco enough to secure the spot. A fantastic days for all grey wolf fans to celebrate for now.

Went two games in Zimmerich and now to return back to Renwyll for the closing action. The stadium that recorded the historic moment of Marigred's first international match which was also the first victory recorded by this team. In the first action, Marigred beat Gergary 1-0. Unexpectedly, the atmosphere at the Champs du Sport was more conducive to Marigred when they once again get a win.

List his best X1 for this match, Mordel make a right decision after they come out as a winner. Mordel stated i after the match, he happy and glad he change his mind and list the original starter for this match. "I glad i take back a decision to take them out from this match. At first, i honestly admit i want to try something in this match. I want to try a combination of other player who at the bench. However, after discussing with Arleen, we both agreed that this match important for us. Even i know we may get something from trying, he advice me not take a risk that may cause upset. I admit sometime i got carried away to try something new and end up put team on risk. Thanks to Arleen for this."

In the match against Bunkaiia, Marigred get one goal from 1st half and 1 from second half. The thing to look here of course the succes of Zima to open his goal account for Marigred. His goal in minute 31 end 154 minute of wait for this moment. Zima thanks to coach for this. " Two game i fail, so i dont have expectation for anything. Looking at 2 backup striker behind at the bench, i know just one second enough for coach to swap me out. But today, i thank coach Mordel, you never give up to give me an advice, give me a talk, word. I will say thank you. Of course i will do better for the next. This goal just the start, the end still far for now."

Behind the Zima goal, one more notable record is third clean sheet for Zakari. The 26 y.o star gk from Aumotar City perform above expectation. While the good chemistry and understanding of Marigred defend, Zakari as the last man make sure his presence worth. Against Gergary and Tolanka, he make sure to close all the area and prevent them from scoring. Zakari on good form at the moment and Mordel hope he can keep this performance in the future.

End of the group stage, e entering knockout stage. This time, one lose and you can pack yourself back home. Against Eshialand in Round of 16. They seem same to Marigred at first glance, 2 win, 1 draw and 1 lose. But they have a dangerous attacking if that want to be mention. While we have good defensive record, it will once again be challenged and now we meet a quite dangerous team. Will Marigred stay or will packing their bag home, the answer will be known on June 22. The path of Marigred, thorn or clear?

After the game, everybody was mad about something. The team was mad that they couldn't score in the first half, Coach Morgan was mad that the team didn't play for a draw from the start, and Christian Meers was mad that he was quite literally an inch away from knocking the Owls out of the tournament. All in all, not a great game.

Coach Morgan decided to be... interesting... when it came to his roster. Alexander Kolek was back in net, since he was ready for action again. George Habisbrauer was also ready to play, so he would replace Carter Langley, since there was no taking Dominique LaPlante out of the starting 11. The most controversial decision by far, however, was his decision to put Harriet Copeland back in Avery MacDougall's position. He figured that, if she could work with the team, she could play really well, and she could channel some of her aggression into making sure that, if Marigred won, they wouldn't be able to win their next game. Dirty? Yes, very much so, but it's eat or be eaten out there. The starting 11 he decided on were:

GK #1 Alexander KOLEK (M, 30)
LB #7 David GORMAN (M, 27)
LCB #20 Dominique LaPLANTE (F, 25)
RCB #22 George HABISBRAUER (M, 25)
RB #8 Sarah SILVER (F, 29)
LM #4 Harriet COPELAND (F, 25)
CM #16 Lysander MOORE (M, 28)
RM #12 Melissa CAREY (F, 27, CAPTAIN)
LW #9 Alyssa LONGFIELD (F, 26)
RW #17 Steven LACHEY (M, 29)
ST #10 Jacob HARRAN (M, 23)

After arriving in Port Grenville, the team decided to start training for a while. Much of this training would consist of teamwork training for Copeland, de-rusting Kolek and Habisbrauer, and, of course, wet-weather training for everyone. Soccer is a fundamentally different game when the ground is muddy, so the team had to practice for that.

Everything went well for the team in training. Kolek and Habisbrauer seemed to be back at full strength, Copeland was actually passing for once, and everybody seemed well-adapted to a muddy field. For once, Coach seemed confident that they were going to win! In fact, it almost seemed like it'd be a crime if they didn't... but of course, he thought that before the games against Islands of Ventro and Sonindia, and look where those ended up. Baby steps.

That first night, Jacob Harran had an appointment that he never told the rest of the team about. That appointment?

"Hello and welcome to this special pre-knockout predictions edition of ENN Tournament Report, I'm your host Alana Markai. Today, I'm joined by a very special guest who I'm sure you've heard of. Live from Port Grenville, Electrum, he has scored 4 goals in as many caps for the Owls in this tournament, that's right, it's JACOB HARRAN!"

JH: "Hello Alana!"

AM: "So today, we're going to be talking about the four games in Sahuarita's half of the bracket, talking about the various teams and making predictions about the games."

JH: "Sounds good Alana!"

AM: "First, we have Sahuarita and Talkasa. Personally, I think Sahuarita's going to win, but I'm no insider, so I'd like your opinion here."

JH: "Yeah, so you have to remember, Sahuarita is completely perfect through four games, and Talkasa's record is only 2-0-2. I really don't think there's anything Talkasa can do to win this, but if I were them, I'd be focusing on their attacking game. They have some good attacking players, so if they can connect, they might just be able to get something going, but I don't think that it'll amount to a win regardless."

AM: "So what about Brookstation and Le Choix? The numbers show Brookstation as the clear favorites, but is there anything else we should consider?"

JH: "Numbers can be very deceiving sometimes, and I think that this is one of those times. Brookstation had a great run going in the group stages, but they were in Group A, meaning that their opponents were a lot easier than Le Choix's in Group E. If you actually look at the matches, Brookstation's matches mainly consist of them taking advantage of swiss cheese defenses, whereas Le Choix played extremely solid soccer all around, and were only crippled by being in the same group as St. Trinian's and Srednjaci, so don't be surprised if you see les Élus coming away with this one."

AM: "Now for Islands of Ventro versus Tolanka... I know you have some personal experience with the Islanders, so how do you think they're gonna do?"

JH: "While I'd like to say that Ventro's going to lose, just out of a grudge for our loss, objectively, I think they have this one in the bag. Tolanka may be an unpredictable team from what is likely the hardest-fought group, Islands of Ventro are an amazing team, and I certainly think they have what it takes to beat Tolanka."

AM: "Now lastly, we have Montaña Verde and Qzvarkian Qaz. These are the most closely-seeded teams in the whole round of 16, so I was wondering what you had to think here..."

JH: "I think the Condors are going to walk away with this one easily. Like what I said for Brookstation, Qzvarkian Qaz came from Group A, where there really wasn't that much competition to speak of, but Montaña Verde played in Group F, and I'm confident that they would've gotten a perfect 12 points if it weren't for being in the same group as Sahuarita. If you just look at the game against Suimede, they won that game 5-1 against a team that made it to the knockouts! I'm almost certain that the Condors will take the win here, but stranger things have happened."

AM: "Well, thanks for your wonderful opinions Jacob! I'm sure everyone watching at home feels so much more well-informed with someone like you providing analysis."

JH: "Thanks for having me on Alana! It's been great being here to talk about the games."

AM: "Tomorrow, we'll be back with special guest Melissa Carey to talk about the games in Atheara's half of the bracket, including our very own Eshialand Owls against the Marigred Grey Wolves. Until then, this has been ENN Tournament Report, and I've been Alana Markai."
Anything I say is IC unless proven otherwise by a court of law.

(any English dialogue, in-story, is in Suimeder, but is translated for convenience.)

It's 3:00 PM, in Dadęm, Raștakhe, Suimede. You're currently on your way to Paneigh, all the way across on the state border between Raștakhe and Pęshis. You're going to visit your friend from university, to tell her the big news that you're getting married! You've already told everyone in your immediate family about it, and you figure that your closest friends ought to know as well. You and her initially bonded over, along with both being from the other side of the state, your love of football - ever since your first year at uni, one of you would come over to the other's place and watch Dinamo Dadęm (your hometown club) every weekend evening. Unfortunately, it's been a minute since your college days. You moved back home, found the love of your life, and got pretty busy in the last few years; I mean, after all, that's why you couldn't already be there with the TV on watching the game. It's alright though, you've got trust in the Peștěpege, they'll pull through.
Just a few minutes before you reach her house, you get a text message. Being the responsible driver you are, you let the car interface read it out to you instead of making a dumb decision. The GPS stops for a sec, and the car reads, "SUIMEDE SHEKETAKH JĄLO 1-0!!! MESARAKH KO-RONDA-IGH!!!*" It feels like it's been so long since you were this proud, despite the fact that you literally got on one knee about a week ago. You get to her house safely (and deeeeefinitely not while going over the speed limit) and, after giving hugs and everything, immediately rush to the TV and hop on the couch. As a matter of fact, her laptop sits on a table right in front of the TV, reading:

Suimede 1, Grandistania 0
Image - Sįn '88 Image - am-Hepej '45, Mulikhede '76, Blev '80 Image - am-Niyaz '45, Sįn '76, Esǔ '80
Image - Pavlović '31, '70 Image - Pavlović (doble-gianau*)

Image - N/A Image - N/A Image - N/A Image - Arbeider '27
Image N/A

You turn your attention to the TV itself, and there's a couple of football pundits sitting at a table; legendary Suimede CB Laliș Vedǐf, who you admire for his time at Dinamo, New Rockets manager (and dinosaur) Ivau am-Fǎsom, who's been coaching since before the country was reunified, and former goalkeeping coach and commentator Miljana Resage, who's been on the call for some of the biggest ever games in Suimeder sport.

Vedǐf: "I mean it was a great match for the Suimeders, we were doubtful after those first couple of fixtures but they really pulled through. Sepúlveda especially, really surprised me. You're not gonna hear much about it, since he didn't score the winning goal and whatever, but silence is exactly the type of thing you want to hear after a performance when you're a center back."

am-Fǎsom: "Of course, but let's not get too overconfident, there were a couple of really concerning events here that Suimede are going to have to look at closely if they want to make it far in the Baptism of Fire, and eventually the World Cup. I mean if you look right here," he says, gesturing to the play shown up on screen, "you can see that Benyamina gives an easy ball away, and am-Gouf is possibly looking for the overlap with Mulikhede but doesn't have the awareness to get back into position in time before Akkerman plays the lob. Nothing comes of it, but still, this was even before the red card from Boshe."

Resage: "There are definitely concerns about this team, even after those two games, with the Pavlović, but surely some relief must have been installed in Chavet’ųmush fans after that display in the final minutes, with a man down?"

Vedǐf: "Eeeexactly."

am-Fǎsom: "All I'm saying is, it'll be a bad idea get too cocky."

Vedǐf: Smirking, "How do you manage to twist a huge win in such a negative light?"

am-Fǎsom: "I'm not! I'm simply-"

Resage: "Aha, oookay. So let us move on to the key highlights of the game, we'll see you after the break."

You look over to your right and see your friend and remember, oh my gosh, there was huge news. If you hadn't remembered, it wouldn't have mattered much however, as she quickly reminds you with a:

  • "Oh, yeah, so what was that news that you were getting ready to talk to me about?"
  • "Oh, yeah, of course. I just wanted to tell you that I'm getting married! I've told you all about my fiance so this shouldn't come as too much of a surprise," you explain, hoping she shares the same excitement as you. I'm sure she does.
  • "Oh... that's great."
  • "Aren't you happy? Or, what happened-"

Before you can understand what's going on, the pundits return again.

  • "Wait, it's okay, I missed the game so I might as well hear what happened in it really quick. If you don't mind, of course."
  • "Sure, no worries."

Resage: "And we're back, I'm Miljana Resage. Alongside me are the brilliant Laliș Vedǐf and Ivau am-Fǎsom and here, are your key highlights of the match."

"After a long spell of possession for Suimede, here in the 27th minute, Finbarr Arbeider of Grandistania takes down Jamal Blev just outside the box. Laliș, is this a red card for you?

Vedǐf: "I might be biased as a through-and-through Violet but, this is clearly denying a goal-scoring opportunity. He's through on goal, and surely would've made it one-nil hadn't it been for this foul."

am-Fǎsom: "Well you are right in that you are biased, cause I don't think that's so sure. Scrivenor is arriving in the box to cut off Blev from what I see. Not a clear goal-scoring opportunity."

Resage: "Well just a few minutes later, it's a yellow for Božidar Pavlović, a bit aggressive anticipating the cross. Agreed on this call?"

    Vedǐf and am-Fǎsom: "Agreed."

am-Fǎsom: "See, this is what I'm talking about with the concerns with this team right now. They need more discipline, rash plays like this are what's keeping Boshe from playing against Atheara, which is a mismatch as it is, and is vital to our ranking heading into the World Cup."

You notice your friend sliding a bit closer to you on the couch. You notice, but don't wanna miss the recap.

Resage: We're into the second half now, one change at the break for Suimede, Feliș am-Hepej coming off for Ýusup Niyazov, they'd later also sub out Fabią Mulikhede in the 76th and Jamal Blev shortly after. No changes whatsoever for Grandistania, do you think that was a contributor to their defeat today?"

am-Fǎsom: "Absolutely, that's why the goal came so late. Suimede knew in the second half that it was just a matter of tiring out their opponents, even after they went down to 10 men, and it was the fresh legs for the Uligaș that ended up giving them the goal."

Vedǐf: "Came from a substitute as well, right Ivau?"

    am-Fǎsom: "Precisely."

Resage: "Let's not get too ahead, of course, moving on to the 70th minute. Again, another yellow card from Pavlović, he's out against Atheara. Was this a necessary foul given the circumstances or a bit reckless?"

Vedǐf: "I mean, arguably both. He has Griffin coming down the wing, I get Sepu would be there, but it's not like you want to allow the winger to just run on and pull away your center backs. That being said it was still poor tackling to catch his ankle rather than the ball, and while you could argue it wasn't a card, he shouldn't have fouled in the first place."

am-Fǎsom: "Yeah, Boshe is coming to stop the winger going through but even then I'd reckon it's a bit premature, isn't it? He doesn't need to commit there coming in hot like that, it isn't like Grandistania had 63 shots on target. No, get to your spot, maybe reach in to a degree, but don't go down, certainly. And not robust like that, either."

Resage: "Great points, the both of you. Now let's head to the moment everyone's been waiting for."

You tilt your head up, knowing what's about to come. You squint at that computer again, it was Kapuej Sįn's goal. Being a Dinamo Dadęm fan, this particularly excites you. You remember back in your college days when you would go watch academy games (they are insanely cheap, even more than league games. I promise guys.) with your friend, who's house you are currently at, and would always marvel at this one short skiny kid who ran laps around everyone at the U-16, U-18, U-21 levels. He's already 23? Time flies.

Resage: "It is, of course, the goal from Kapuej Sįn. After coming on in the 76th minute of the match in a 10 man side, Sįn just smashes it across and in."

Vedǐf: "That's my boy! That's my boy! CFDD represent!"

am-Fǎsom: "Haha, NRC all the way, actually, but on a genuine note, this is such brilliant positioning from Kapuej Sįn. You wouldn't imagine him being a left back in this passage of play, he just lurks behind and in between the center backs, waiting for the cutback."

Vedǐf: "And once it does come, he doesn't hesitate at all to pounce on the pass from Maurinho,"

am-Fǎsom: "Beautiful ball, by the way."

Vedǐf: "Right, and he gets an incredible amount of power on it."

Resage: "Interesting input from you guys, and here we can see the absolute scenes both outside the stadium and on the pitch just after the goal. It's a great day for football fans in Suimede, and we'll be back after the break."

You look over to your friend, remarking on how great of a contest that must've been, and she agrees.

    • "Wait, I almost forgot to say, did something happen? You seemed a bit nervous when I said I was getting married?"
    • "Oh, yeahhh. I've got something to tell you, I've wanted to tell you for a minute."
    • "Go on."
    • "I... was a little hoping you'd break up. Not because I dislike your spouse-to-be, or anything along those lines, I just kind of like you." What. How does one react to this. No, genuinely.
    • "Um, what?"
    • "Yep."
    • "For how long?"
    • "Past... couple of years? Maybe? Maybe this whole time? I don't know."
    • "I'm at a loss for words. I'm not mad or anything, I just, feel like everything's under a new lens."
    • "I get that. I'm sorry for-"
    • "No need to be sorry. No need at all. It's just an awkward thing to process at this moment in time. You knew I was single when we were at university, right? Why didn't you tell me then?"
    • "I really didn't want to ever tell you. I knew you didn't feel the same way, which is fine, but I also didn't want to ruin what we already have."
    • "I mean that's, admirable, to be fair. I'd have liked for you to just be honest-"
    • "I know, I know. It's just that the anxiety builds up over time and it gets increasingly harder and harder to say anything. You know?"
    • "Yeah, no I understand where you're coming from. Well, I mean, thank you for telling me, but I might as well get going. It's getting a bit dark, I think."
    • "Alright, I'll see you soon."

You had an awkward drive back. It's raining now, and you have a feeling in your stomach, and it's not good, but it also isn't... bad? All of those memories that you had feel, different. Now so many moments you remember feel less innocent, and more analytic, like there's questions attached to each and every one. You came in here thinking about football and friendship, but now you're sitting in the parking lot on your way across an entire state with a blurry windshield and thinking about so much more, so much else. This was meant to be one of your happiest days, but now, football feels futile. Friendship feels fake. Even when you get back to your fiance, you feel dirty, despite not having done anything wrong. Why do you feel this way, what are you feeling? You just have to be alone and think for a minute. Life's good.

Match Recap: Istoreya 0–1 Le Choix
Player of the Game: AM Aurélie Dior

After a draw and a loss, Le Choix needed a win badly. In the match against Istoreya, the midfielders had their best game so far as The Chosen maintained possession for most of the game; however, it took so much to get that elusive first goal. The opportunity happened in the second half where all the probing by Aurélie Dior finally produced the chance that had been eluding them for two games and seventy-nine minutes. The Attacking midfielder ran past two defenders, juked around another, and, choosing to not be selfish, passed the ball off at the very last second to Gavin Lavigne, who got the tap-in for the goal.

"I knew that I had a chance," she would say after the match, "It was up to me to just get it done. I am happy that I had the opportunity and that Gavin was there to push it through. It is an honor to have the assist on the very first goal for the country; hopefully we can make it a much more common of an occurrence and show the world what we can do out there."

"A much better showing," admitted Hélène Monet, "We've still not played the perfect game and there is room for improvement. Still, I want to thank Aurélie for coming up in the clutch and to Francine for holding down the fort. We still have a must win game to qualify to the next round."

Match Recap: Le Choix 2-0 Deniria
Player of the Game: ST Gavin Lavigne

With a comfortable 2-0 victory over Deniria, the Chosen have qualified for the Round of Sixteen in BoF 75. Gavin Lavigne showed up this time around, scoring a brace in the first twenty minutes of the game that really set the tone for the rest of the match.

On the first, he ran by three defenders for the simple tap-in; on the second, the shot came from more than twenty yards out for the paydirt.

With only one goal conceded in four matches, Francine Pellier has really stepped up like she needed to.

The team will next face Brookstation, a team that scored an astonishing fifteen goals in their Group, the most that anybody has scored all tournament long.

It'll be difficult, but the team seems to have found their footing - will they be able to keep the momentum?

Training and Preparation

The players were training in Northcote Oval Stadium to prepare their game against Suimede, whom got the dead last qualifying in the third place play-offs. But The players knew one thing. Never Underestimate an Enemy. This curse has happened several times, especially in the WJHC where Atheara had underestimated Nova Anglicana's abilities in Junior Hockey. But they were not here for that, they were here to win, and they will try their best to do it.

The reason they are training in Northcote Oval, Prescott is because not only they want to get a feel of their surroundings, they also want to experience what Electrum is like. They went around, drank a bit in the Blue District,The Midfielders even went skiing a bit. But not only that, they had to find anything useful that can help them against Suimede. They found nothing, so they decided to study how Suimede plays.

When they found out that Suimede relied on crossing, attacking widely, and counter-attacks, they were not suprised. They all saw a flaw in Suimeder Playstyle. The reason Atheara had been able to score a decent amount of goals but not concede any was because they were playing a Narrow Attacking Style and a Wide Defensive Style. They go through narrow gaps with speed, and when in defense, they keep the field open, but close out attacking players.

With a wide attacking style Suimede was asking for a Death Note. If you are keeping the field wide open and you are attacking, the enemy team has a better chance to cut-off your own attacking chances, which is why Suimede had a hard time even trying to attack their enemies. Atheara decided to use this against them for tomorrow without changing their playstyle whatsoever. This way if Suimede does a playstyle change they won't lose team stability and they will stay consistent.

See you all tomorrow.

A LOOK AT THE DRAGONS JOURNEY IN THE BAPTISM OF FIRE SO FAR, AND WERE THEY ARE HEADING TO.

It is quite a great day for Galeannans today. The Galeannan football national team outfit, the Dragons have successfully qualified from the Baptism of Fire Group Stages with no loss and finished on position 2 due to goal difference with Atheara. The qualification was settled on match day 4 with a brilliant win against Kannap in a 3 – 4 thriller, were both teams threw caution to the side and focused on attacking the opposition rather than defending.

Image

Final Group B table after 4 matches.

The Baptism of Fire is a tournament for totally new countries to multiverse football as such coming into the BOF Group Stage, all Galeannans were a bit nervous as they knew nothing about the opponents that they would be facing. Match day 1 was against now favourites to win the BOF, Atheara. Both teams tried to break down each other’s defences but failed. Back then this page and other Galeannan media praised our defenders in particular Left Back and former miner Tom Dunn. This was before the errors that would come in the following match days from the Dragons defenders. With present insight the game between Galeanna and Atheara ended in a draw due to our opponent’s brilliant defenders. The Athearans have not let any goal into their net in the last 4 BOF games. If Galeanna’s defenders had been as good as Atheara’s defenders, the Dragons would have qualified as Group B leaders.
The stalemate between Atheara and Galeanna had left Galeannan fans with mixed emotions. Whilst some fans were glad that the Dragons had at least gained a point from the game, others lamented at the lost opportunity from squandering chances. Here’s what Howler had to say…
Image

Image

Some of the Howlers from Dragons fans.

For match day 2 Galeanna was given a bye and had ample time to correct the mistakes they had made against Atheara and begin to gain points on the table. With all this in mind the Dragons were under pressure to get their first multiverse goals and 3 points to insure they would not get knocked out of the tournament early in game 2.

The second match was against Talkasa and the Dragons were very, very hungry to get goals. These goals came in spectacular fashion starting in the first half from Patrick Davey Mwaluweni and George Smith. When the Galeanna 23-man squad was announced several Galeannans questioned the loyalty of Ziwani born Mwaluweni, but with the goal against Talkasa he shut up his critics and raised his confindence. The cracks in the Dragons defence begun to get exposed in this match, the defenders kept moving out of position allowing opposition forwards space to manoeuvre through and score. These blunders from Galeanna defenders led to Talkasa equalizing in the first half. The Dragons players went into the half-time break frustrated and in fear of another stalemate that would effectively kill Galeanna’s chances of qualifying from the group stages.

In the second half, Galeanna’s luck seemed to have run out with Talkasa having strengthened its defence and launched a blitzkrieg unto the Dragons defence. Galeanna’s defence was of course terrible and unreliable, it was Finley Hodgson’s heroics that prevented the Dragons from being embarrassed. Jayden Reeves was another hero of the day with his last minute goal to prevent another draw that would have spoiled the Dragons chances at qualifying. Although the Galeannan manager was thrilled with the match, most Dragons fans were not thrilled that once again the team wasn’t able to truly dominate the match. Howler had this to say…
Image

A critical Howler from a Dragons fan

The game against Kannap were we qualified our defencive problems continued. Kannap were the worst side in Group B. They lost all their games and in their 4 games they scored only 4 goals. 3 of the 4 goals were scored against us. This just proves how terrible and lacklustre the Dragons defence is. After the match Ferguson promised the fans that the teams defending would improve and fans accepted this. In the next match against Revlona they failed to score against our defence, and it might seem encouraging on the surface level to Dragon fans. But lets us all be honest, our opponents had struggled to score goals in all previous matches and ended the group stages with only 2 goals in 4 matches. Our defenders had not improved and were not good, our opponents were just terrible.

Now as every Galeannan celebrates this historic moment, I would like to remind everyone that we have leaky back that has not been fixed in 4 matches. In our next game in the round of 16 we face a strong side in Srednjaci, a side that has not only scored a lot of goals but has also defended well by only allowing 3 goals in. If Galeanna is to win this game, we must defend well, I appeal to the Dragons defenders to please not let this great country down. As everyone celebrates I do hope the Galeannan defenders are training hard on the pitch to avoid destroying the dreams of many.

It was the morning before Eshialand's match against Marigred, and the team didn't quite feel ready. They weren't too sure why. Yes, their training had been going well, but they had this unshakeable feeling that something was amiss...

Maybe they just needed more training. Yeah, that was it, more training. You can never get too much of that. So, at seven in the morning, in the pouring rain, the team returned to Sailors Stadium for some more training.

Once again, everything went well. They didn't even train that much, they just practiced for about half an hour and realized that they were pretty stupid for not feeling ready. They were as ready as they could ever be.

"Hello and welcome back to this special pre-knockout predictions edition of ENN Tournament Report, I'm your host Alana Markai. Today, I'm going to go through each of the round of 16 matches in Atheara's half of the tournament bracket with the help of a very special guest. Live from Port Grenville, Electrum, she's the captain of the Eshian national soccer team, Melissa Carey!"

MC: "Hello everyone!"

AM: "Hi Melissa! So today, we're going to be looking at the four matches in Atheara's half-"

MC: "Don't you mean Eshialand's half?"

AM: "Ha ha ha, I suppose I do! We're gonna be looking at the four matches in Eshialand's half of the round of 16, I'm gonna ask you what you think about them, and you're going to give your predictions and analysis, got it?"

MC: "Yeah, Jacob [Harran] told me the rundown of what we'd be doing, so I think I'm ready."

AM: "Great! So first, we have Atheara and Suimede. Atheara's an extremely popular team among the fans here in Eshialand, so I'm sure they're dying to know: how do you think they'll do?"

MC: "I don't see anything other than a huge win for Atheara here. If you look at Atheara, you'll find a team that hasn't allowed a single goal in the tournament so far, and are my personal favorites to win the tournament, thanks to their amazing defenders and their star goalkeeper Mugel Krygorf, while Suimede is a team that has a hard time finding an attack and, whenever their opponents have a good attack, their defense turns into swiss cheese. Just look at their 4-1 loss to Sahuarita or their 5-1 loss to Montana Verde! This certainly looks like the end of the line for Suimede."

AM: "Now for St. Trinian's versus Aut-Ves-Nat. I know I've never played against the Aut-Ves-Nat side, so you're far more qualified than I am to talk about this match."

MC: "I can give a couple of reasons why I think St. Trinian's Will win this game. First, they're just a better team. Aut-Ves-Nat can be extremely sloppy at times, while when I watch St. Trinian's, I see an amazing team that may well win this whole thing! Second, I see Aut-Ves-Nat getting very distracted. They seem to have this weird fetish for the St. Trinian's team, which, when combined with the shortest attention span I've ever seen from a team of soccer-playing robots, is sure to lead to disaster for their team."

AM: "What about Galeanna and Srednjaci? These seem to be two great teams, but I'd love your two cents on the matter..."

MC: "No matter how hard I try, I just can't seem to call this one. Both teams are amazing teams that would've had perfect records if it weren't for Atheara and St. Trinian's respectively. Not beating those teams isn't a sign that you're not an amazing team, it only means that you were unlucky with the group drawing. In the end, I wouldn't be surprised if either team wins this one, since they both very much deserve it."

AM: "Now for the burning question on everyone's mind: how do you and the Owls feel about tonight's game against Marigred?"

MC: "When we woke up this morning, we really weren't sure about it, but after a little bit of practice, I think we're ready for anything that might come our way. Both George [Habisbrauer] and Alex [Kolek] are coming back for this one, so expect this to be a real return to form for us."

AM: "Go Owls!"

MC: "Ha ha ha, go Owls..."

"Many thanks to Melissa for agreeing to go through the games with me, and remember to tune in tonight after the results from Sahuarita's half of the bracket come in from Reçueçn! Until then, this has been ENN Tournament Report and I've been Alana Markai."

Bryan's Song: A Faustian Tale

Bryan was in the midst of the domestic season Kenny had been talking to Bryan about the season. He had just gotten off the field in a game versus Shaqtar Olymnysk. The game was a 3-1 victory and Bryan got two of those goals. The call from Kenny was normal fair, but he decided afterwards to talk with Vitaly. He had questions he knew Vitaly could answer

"Well, sorry man, I know you probably wanted that game more competitive"

"It's fine, what they did to Shaqtar has made them dead to me. You saw that coach they put in right?"

"Why why did he keep yelling 'slani'?"

"That's Reji', yeah he shouldn't be in public. No one actually knows where he came from. But what I hear is he goes by the name 'Reji Tak-El". He claims he is the reincarnation of a legendary player from a far off land called 'Rejistania'. That man is nuts, I don't think that's a real nation. Anyways show's you what they think of us in Olymnysk. Why do you think so many cotton lottery "winners" come from Olymnysk. It's cause thery think of us as pigs! I even as the General Manager of the had to save to get my pass! Sorry Bryan I needed to get that off my shoulder"

"Cotton Lottery? Why would you want to get away from a Lottery?"

"The prizes are terrible and you have to pay to get out of it. Do you like slave labor?"

"oh Fuck! that sounds no fun, when did they get rid of it?"

"Who knows Bryan maybe you can tell me when, cause as of now we haven't determined that"

Bryan was never one to show emotions of sadness, but when he heard that his face was stone but his heart wasn't. He had been a bit airheaded in accepting the position but now he was wondering wht he has gotten into. He cared about Vitaly and the people of Olymnysk, hearing their plight he knew something had to happen.

It was the night of the game with Marigred, and the Owls took the field at Sailors Stadium. It was a dreary, rainy night, and the team's demeanor wasn't much better. All of that good energy they had during and after practice? That was all gone now. In its place was stress, anxiety, pressure, and fear. Fear of losing. Fear of going home. Fear of disappointment. They never expected to be afraid of losing... I mean, it was just a game, right? However, they quickly realized that it was more than a game: it was the pride of their country.

The anthems began to play, as they did before any game, and the team froze up. Would they be able to pull this off, or would it be the end of the tournament for them? So many questions they just couldn't answer...

"Hello and welcome back to ENN Tournament Report, I'm your host Alana Markai. Tonight's games in Reçueçn just wrapped up, so I'm here to bring you all of the results, along with a sneak preview of two of the coming quarterfinal matches!"

Sahuarita 1 - 0 Talkasa
"I'm not sure if there was anyone who expected this to go any way other than how it did, apart from maybe Sahuarita scoring more goals.

Montaña Verde 0 - 1 Qzvarkian Qaz
"This is the one result that just about nobody expected. Despite Montaña Verde having been the heavy favorites to win this game, Qzvarkian Qaz managed to overcome their disadvantages and take this one home, punching their ticket to the quarter-finals."

Brookstation 0 - 2 Le Choix
"The numbers may not have predicted it, but Jacob Harran's analysis did. Les Élus managed to walk away with this one, handing Brookstation their first - and final - loss of the tournament."

Islands of Ventro 7 - 2 Tolanka
"The result may have been expected, but that score sure wasn't! Ventro stomped all over Tolanka 7 to 2, going to the quarterfinals in style!"

"Now, let's look at the quarterfinal matches we can expect to see in Reçueçn. Sahuarita vs. Qzvarkian Qaz may look like a clear Sahuarita win, but after managing to beat Montaña Verde, who knows what Bryan Faust and the Qzvarkian Qaz team can do here? As for Le Choix vs. Islands of Ventro, this one again may look like a Le Choix victory, but Ventro's 7-2 victory is the sort of thing that would make anyone doubt what they previously thought."

"Many thanks for tuning in once again, this has been ENN Tournament Report, and I have been your host Alana Markai."

Before The Countdown

It was here, in the locker room in Northcote Oval Stadium in the City of Prescott, Electrum. Before the game against Suimede. Kristian had gathered to talk about the game before it begins. Mugel Krygorf, the captain, was more than prepared to fight against Suimede. Kanton Oliver - Gruschev, he was a bit nervous. This is in fact his first Multi-Verse Tournament, it was the first for everyone here. Toriff Hicosia Algeer, he was excited. He had been waiting to fight against another team from one of the other groups, even if it was a team that had been not doing so well in this Baptism of Fire. Still, Kristian decided to start speaking. He had to rally his men.

"Alright boys, you are here. The round of 16. You came here because you excel as a team. We are the only team to not concede a single goal, and i want you boys to keep it that way. Suimede, although a team that seems weak, should not be underestimated. We can win this match, i know you can. We are here for one thing, and that is Baptism of Fire glory. WHAT ARE WE HERE FOR?!" "WE ARE HERE TO WIN!" "WHY DO WE WIN?" "WE WIN FOR GLORY!" "THEN GET OUT THERE AND SHOW THE WORLD WHAT YOU CAN DO!"

The team was rallied up. Everyone was ready, excited, prepared, anything that describes that they want to win. They want to win by trying their best, nothing more, nothing less. Here to get honor and glory, they were aching for victory in this Baptism of Fire. They also want to keep the record of not conceding a single goal. Obviously only the Gods of Fortune and Luck can change that, but the players were determined that they can keep the record. Let's see if they kept it once the matches are announced.

St Trinians players celebrate going unbeaten in the group stage.

St Trinians charged into the round of sixteen, remaining unbeaten as they took out the group in dominant fashion. It was a tough final match against Istoreya, both teams playing tough, aggressive football. Against a solid Iguana’s defence, the St Trinians couldn’t overload their opponents through sheer numbers as they had in previous matches. Instead the St Trinians watched as every critical pass failed to find its way through, and every shot was sent wide of the mark, or else fell into Gentell’s capable hands. As frustrations rose, so did the St Trinians’ tempers. Gardner picked up a red card for smacking Dmitri Adas in the mouth. Temperance Porter was also sent off, picking up her second yellow for shoving Dalton Scribe. In the end, the score came from the most un-St Trinians of situations: a penalty in their favour. Elisabeth Speight took the kick, and curled it expertly past Gentell. It was the only goal St Trinians would score, but it was enough. The final whistle prompted wild celebrations on the pitch.

One person who was not happy was Miracle Butler. The personal feud that had started between her and Elisabeth Speight had grown, and Miracle was not happy her rival had scored the winning goal. The fallout from the feud had been divisive. Miracle and her army of social media followers were up in arms about the perceived injustices she had faced, and she mostly had the support of the upper class, who saw Speight as a violent upstart. But Elisabeth had the support of most of the football fans, the lower classes, and most importantly, her coach. So when Miracle came up to her after the match and delivered a verbal spray, Speight responded with a few choice words of her own. Once again, it would have come to blows if Amy hadn’t intervened.
“I’ve had enough of you two!” Amy was pissed. “This is about football, not your petty squabble! Do you have any idea what this is doing to the team? We need you both playing together!”
“She started it!” yelled Miracle, eliciting a vehement protest from Elisabeth.
Amy threw up her hands in frustration. “Right, you two want to settle this? Then let’s settle it. Tomorrow.”

Word soon got around the team about Amy’s ultimatum. In St Trinians, an organised plan to settle a dispute usually only meant one thing: a fight. Within ten minutes of returning to the hotel, Madelyn Walmsley had a book open and was taking bets. Everyone knew
The next day was an off-day for the St Trinians team, but that didn’t mean they could rest. Amy pulled them in for training as expected. But before, she decided to give them a pep talk.
“We are a team. That means we work together, not against each other. Miracle, Elisabeth, you two have been dragging us down. It ends here. Ladies, clear the floor.”

The instruction was met with a second of dead silence, then a flurry of activity. Chairs and tables were quickly moved out of the way. They instinctively understood Amy’s meaning: after all, trial by combat was an ingrained part of St Trinians society, and the closest thing they had to a legal system. In no time, Miracle and Elisabeth were standing in a cleared space surrounded by their teammates.
A piercing whistle cut through the general chatter. It came from Ilsa De Grandhomme, who was standing on a chair next to the whiteboard.
“Ladies, place your bets!” she shouted. Immediately, everyone began shouting as they called out for their favourite. Speight was generally regarded as the better chance, with more bets dropped on her, but Miracle had bigger sums. Notably, Madelyn Walmsley dropped 4000 pounds on Miracle; a ridiculous sum, but pocket change for the Walmsley family.

Meanwhile, Elisabeth spent the time shadow boxing, while Miracle pulled out her phone and began streaming.
“Hey Miracle fans! Now you know that this cow Speight’s been talking shit about me, well I’m about to mess this bitch up. Sit back and enjoy, it’s gonna get wild!”
Amy picked up her coaching whistle. “All right girls. Let’s begin.” *peep*

Images from Miracle's livestream of the fight

Amy reviewed the medical report. Miracle had a twisted ankle, multiple face lacerations, and a serious concussion. Elisabeth had a cracked rib. Both players would be out for the foreseeable future. Amy was not as annoyed as many coaches would be. After all, it had been her idea to have the pair beat the seven bells out of each other. Not a tactic employed by many coaches, but a typical St Trinian way of dealing with the problem. The issue would now be resolved, for a while at least, although the fact that Elisabeth won the fight would probably mean Miracle’s supporters would not shut up. Still, she gave as good as she got, but Miracle had been forced to tap out after Elisabeth got her by the throat. Amy sighed and reviewed her team sheet. Wilhelmina Dorsey would replace Miracle, but the difficult decision was Speight. After a lengthy consideration, she chose to go with Comfort Maitland. It was not ideal going into the knockout rounds to have your best striker on the bench, and Maitland was not a like for like replacement, but she was the best they had. At least there was some good news, with Frankie Tipton back in the side. As long as she could handle being drug-free for awhile, she would be a valuable asset to the team at a time when they needed her the most.

Today Atheara defeats Suimede in their match up with a good score of 2 - 0. Atheara also keeps their Goal clean from any goal, keeping the record of their clean sheet. This will be an analysis of the game itself, what happened in the game, and game statistics. We will also be interviewing the Coach of the Athearan National Team, Kristian Johansson about the next match up, the team in it's current form, and the players who are really shining on the International and Multi-Verse stage.

The game starts with the ball from Atheara, because they won the coin flip on who will start with the ball. Suimede was staying patient for a Counter Attack, and the Athearan players knew this. And then, on Minute 32, Atheara decides to break this lazy stalemate. A swift Long Ball from Zimmerman Brusteric to Toriff Hicosia Algeer caught Suimeder Defenders Dani Sepúlveda and Sǔnage am-Gouf off guard. Toriff and Luis immediately went running with the ball. Toriff passes to Luis and he blasts the ball like a rocket past through Carmelo Peko. Goal 1 for Atheara.

Minute 43 and disaster strikes for Atheara. While on the attack from a cross by Urusov Cantonian - Myords, Toriff was tackled by Mehdi Benyamina which resulted in his knees being slightly cracked. A Yellow Card for him while Toriff is sent off on the stretcher. Replacing him is Kevin Van Halfeerd, his first International Game. While in the meantime, Alexander Porovik is switched for Evan Osterric Hugens, as he didn't get enough sleep. When the whistle for the first half blew, Atheara had 7 shots total, compared to Suimede's 2 shots.

The Second Half begins with nothing interesting worth of mentioning, until Minute 76. A Freekick from a slight nudge from Fabią Mulikhede to Kevin. Kevin is the one whom takes the shot, as it is just outside the penalty box, meaning that his first goal could be right here. He shoots it with a swerve and Goal 2 for Atheara! Carmelo was not getting close to the ball that hit through the Top Left Corner. Atheara played Defense until the end of the match, walking away with sweet victory.

Overall, Atheara was dominant both in the First and Second halves of the game. 7 Shots in the First, 4 Shots in the Second compared to Suimede's 2 and 4. With Atheara having a 85% Pass Completion Rate compared to Suimede having 71%, it seems Atheara was dominant since the beginning of the Match. Man of the Match is Luis Frawning with 1 Goal in the match. Now let's begin with our interview with the Coach of the National Team, Kristian Johannson.

Nazer Ohwel (NO): Welcome to the interview sir!
Kristian Johannson (KJ): Ahh yes thank you for having me, it's an honor.
NO: Ah yes sir, it seems you don't have much time so i will be direct. What do you think about the Atheara vs Galeanna match up?
KJ: It seems equal i would say. Atheara has the better Defense, while Galeanna has proven their worth against a more equal team compared to us. I would say we could get a win if we could take advantage from their weak defense, as it seems they haven't fixed it yet.
NO: I have to agree with you right there sir. Now, what do you think about the team's performance right now?
KJ: I think the boys are doing great. Obviously the loss of Toriff for the next game and possibly the remainder of the BoF hurts me, but it's the nature. Mugel also has been doing well with being the captain. Luis has also been a good influence on everyone in the team. I would say we are doing greatly.
NO: Ahh yes, the captain is a very important role. Now last question, who do you think has been performing greatly in the team?
KJ: Everyone is performing greatly. But i would say Mugel Krygorf. His performance has actually increased in the Baptism of Fire from his usual performa back home. It is interesting for him to develop like this.
NO: Alright sir, that's about it, thank you for your time.
KJ: No problem Ohwel, call me again if you need to.

Stay tuned for Atheara vs Galeanna!

A cold hotel room, Prescott, Electrum
"Hey, have you guys seen this?" Ido asked, pointing to the news article he was reading on his phone. His knees were pulled up to his chest and he was wrapped in several layers, as were the other two teammates in the room with him. Prescott was freezing, and even with the heating on, it was far too cold for Istoreyans who were used to a much more tropical climate. "St Trinian's had something go down."

Dmitri Adis got up from his bed and vaulted over the back of the couch, bouncing into a seat next to Ido. Ido tilted his head.

"Alright there, Dee?"

"Yeah, yeah, what's gone down?"

Abraham Vane took a seat in the armchair, wearing a baby pink woolen turtleneck. "They kicked our asses, I hope something bad happened."

"Come on, it was just a friendly game."

"... That girl with purple hair full-on decked you. Your lip is still puffy."

"A moment I shall never forget," Dmitri said. Abe and Ido exchanged confused looks. "Is Essie in the article? Is she alright?"

"She's fine, as far as I know..." Ido said. "She's not in it. It's Speight and Bulter. Apparently, they have some beef and they took it out on each other in a way that is uniquely St Trinian. Bulter live-streamed the entire thing."

"Diky, what happened?" Abe asked.

"They had a right go at each other. Neither one came out alright, they're both gonna be off the field for a while."

"Serves them right. We're not gonna advance past the group stages thanks to them."

"They are... a little more aggressive than most players, I will admit."

"But we still have the World Cup, don't we?" Dmitri said. "This was only the beginning, we're gonna have the chance to kick their asses next time. Or maybe Essie will punch me again..."

"Right, well, I'm hungry. Ido, let's go grab some food?"

"Yeah, yeah," Ido said, putting his phone in his pocket and jumping off the sofa so he and Abe could leave Dmitri to get over whatever weird lovestruck state he had found himself in.

Islands of Ventro 7-2 Tolkland

What a spectacular sight in the knockoff round! Islands of Ventro comping into these playoffs hardcore scoring 7 goals throughout the game and only allowing one. Now my information may not be correct here but this might be the most amount of goals scored by any team in this competition so far! It was a blowout comeback to after Tolkland put up several early points.

The score was 0-2 Tolkland at the 12th minute with Tolkland’s sidlinr grinning with superiority. Little did they know that the final score would not be in their favor. Kevin Hate and Mathis Vera made sure of that, they each had a hat trick against them. With a goal from Robert Upity coming late. We interviewed both of them for there take on the game,

Reporter: “Both of you guys got hat tricks, you feel this was a team effort or your own?”

Mathis: “Me”

Kevin: “Team”

Reporter: “ Woah there slow down, can you explain why?”

Mathis: “ Well I was doing a lot for running down the field myself, that was their grave mistake. They were so focused on covering the passing routes that I had a open lane to the net!”

Reporter: “Well that explains some things. What about you Kevin?”

Kevin: “Kind of the same philosophy, I mean our teammate were so good at distracting them that we had open goals.”

Reporter: “Ok that’s all we have for today, I wish you luck at your next match day.”

Based on this new information and looking at the game footage again we can indeed see that this is true. Our mids and defenders were running skillful around trying to get open, in doing that they set up open lanes for the strikers. The main one if these people was poor Gilbert Franc, It look like for no reason other than despite him they had him double covered the entire game and he was just running around trying to get open.

Closing statement: Good luck in the next round!
