Biography: Being born in the Bernard System less than a decade before the Great Colonial War, nationalism and the Sirius Republic would impact Darwin's early years heavily. Being a child to parents who we already pro-independence, he easily accepted the new regime when it was established in 2314. For the first couple of years, life mostly continued as normal. But around 2316, Siriusian forces would start cooperating with the Bernardine forces more closely in order to combat Earth effectively. Fascist concepts would begin to slowly take root on Saint Bernardine and its moons. While causing no major problems initially, society began to divide under the surface into 3 main factions. Those who preferred Earth governance, independents and pro-authoritarian ultra-nationalists.
Around 2317, with Earth forces once again on the offensive, the situation would finally break down. Fascist revolutionaries tried to seize power over the planetary system, with the limited Sirius forces providing additional troops and weapons. While they would fail to overthrow the government of Saint Bernardine and end up in a continual war between pro-independence forces on Nova Paris, the ultra-nationalist would successfully establish dominance over New London. Under this dictatorship and its brutality towards dissidents, Darwin would slowly become disenfranchised towards the nationalism he had grown up around.
In late 2318, the TDF would launch an attack on the system in order to reclaim the colonies and force the Sirius Republic out. This would inspire rebels on New London to rise up against the government. With aid from the Terran Navy and Bernadine troops, the 2 moons would finally be liberated from fascist control, with Republican remnants being forced back beyond the belt. But this victory would come at a cost.
Around 15% of the population had been killed and large portions of the infrastructure had been destroyed. Among the casualties would be Darwin's own mother. This loss would finally cause him to develop a deep hatred for any sort of far-right extremism, especially fascism and its derivatives.
Over the next few years following the end of the war, he would help his fellow New Londoners to rebuild the settlements and the fields. But when the repair work had been finished, he still yearned to do more aid for humanity. In 2325, he would enrol in the army. Following his training, he would go on to become one of the first people to enlist at Camp Paris, where he would work to become a marine. A role which he has performed ever since, helping the TDF to fight back against insurgents and criminals, particularly what was left of the New Sun Brotherhood.

The planets of the Barnard's Star system orbit a Red Dwarf. Moving from inner to outer, the first colony is located on the small planet of Helica. A blasted rock with a poisonous atmosphere but home to vast caverns capable of sustaining ecosystems. Helica's value however is in the capture of rare gases found abundant in its atmosphere and the vast mineral wealth mined underground. More than enough to provide for comfortable habitation infrastructure built below ground. Due to the planets small size native Helicans are noted to be taller and thinner due to the worlds lower gravity at 20% Earths.

Saint Bernardine is the name of the Super-Earth ice planet turned partial terraformed world. Still close enough to the Red Dwarf to receive enough sunlight, combined with Human terraforming efforts, has allowed a thin but breathable atmosphere and a small temperate belt to form along the worlds equator. Where much of the population resides.

Saint Bernardine is orbited by the moons, also inhabited as separate colonies in the Federal system, New London and Nova Paris. Both moons hosted a thicker atmosphere that while not ideal for Humans is survivable. But the biggest boon was the twin moons fertile, nitrogen rich, and mineral rich soils. Forming a veritable bread basket for the cities of Saint Bernardine and the miners of Helica. New London is also host to a Terran Navy base in orbit with training facilities for Army, Aerospace Force, and Naval personnel. Camp Paris exists on Nova Paris for the Colonial Marine Corps as a system basic training facility.

The outer reaches of the system are separated via thin asteroid built of mostly rock and ore and little ice. While three gas giants make up the final celestial objects following large orbits around the Star.

Oh, those. Those are for the Army. Be a bit cumbersome for more rapid forces like Marines to use.

Her family was upper middle class before the war, but they found themselves refugees in it's aftermath, eventually settling in the midwest of the United States. Her parents, while not being from Mars, were peace advocates before and during the war. Kids, often being devious and cruel would learn about this and consistently tease her. In response She developed and learned to live with a simmering temper and made studying her friend, determining at a young age that she'd be a pilot, so that she could stop the repeat of the tragedy that destroyed her home and left her to grow up as despised outcast.

Her parents on the other hand, had lost the ideological motivation behind their peace advocacy, and committed entirely to supporting their children, though all ended up leaning towards military service. Nonetheless, her curiosity eventually lead her to read up on her parents work in her teens. While it did not change her career choice, it profoundly effected the way she'd end up approaching military strategy and tactics, as it made her appreciation for the horrors of war more personal. At 18 begun pursuing a double major in Astrophysics and History, before taking officer training program in addition to a necessary year of flight school to become a pilot.

A proving to be a competent pilot and later flight leader capable of applying her theoretical education to practical circumstances, she proved to be a satisfactory pick to be transferred to the Odin to lead it's Raven-Class Reconnaissance Squadron as a Captain. However, the extent of her talent in this position remains to be seen, but her meritorious record so far suggests that she has significant potential.
