Police, protesters clash in Christchurch over "White Drongonia" law debate

Following a spate of protests through last weekend, Christchurch was today filled with demonstrators rallying against the debate of "White Drongonia" laws in Parliament, which were introduced by controversial Deputy Prime Minister Simon Baker. The Race Relations Bill 2021 seeks to officially ban the immigration of non-Europeans into Drongonia, launch Government programs to discourage miscegenation, and criminalise "hate speech towards ethnic Drongonians".

The Bill has sparked hot debate both in the streets and in Parliament, where its fate was heatedly debated throughout the week. MPs have now completed their submissions and are now voting on amendments to the Bill, with the "Race Relations Bill 2021 Amendment and Cancellation Bill" being submitted by Sarah Ellice with the sole intention of rendering the debated Bill illegal. Other submissions include those designed to limit the effects of the immigration ban and allow refugees into Drongonia.

Protests turned violent over the Bill's debate, as Police report that a group of "young adults dressed in black" approached off-duty officers at the edge of the protest cordon, assaulting one and attempting to steal the vehicle of another. Police say they were able to arrest the youths, but one officer was taken to hospital as a precautionary measure following the incident. Later in the day, improvised Molotov cocktails were reportedly thrown towards Police, with the effects being mostly nullified via the use of water cannons. Police were unable to identify the attacker or attackers.

Police published data suggesting that a total of over 15,000 arrests have been made since the first protests began two weeks ago, with many people being arrested multiple times. Social media posts from protesters at the rallies have accused Police of "wanton unfounded and illegal arrests" and attempting to violently disperse crowds. Christchurch Police released a statement via Peaker, Facebook and its website refuting the claims, saying that "...Police attending these protests have been following protocols to the letter..." and that "...all arrests made in relation to these protests are as a direct result of genuine illegal activity on the part of protesters."

Tensions may escalate tomorrow as protesters have promised to march to Parliament and sit in overnight, meeting MPs as they arrive for the week on Monday morning. Police have responded to these posts with a warning that "...any protesters found to be vandalising and/or breaching the peace on Parliament grounds will be arrested and charged under the Counter-Terroism Act 2010." The maximum sentence for individuals charged with high-level terrorism is the death penalty, although this has not been delivered as a sentence for terrorism since 1988.

Neither Prime Minister Bill English or Deputy Prime Minister Simon Baker could be reached for comment.

Govt under pressure to cut ties with Norcott following outlawing of homosexuality - now punishable by death
Christchurch, Drongonia

Opposition parties, together with human rights organisations, are calling for the Government to officially cut diplomatic and defence ties with neighbouring Norcott following its now official stance on outlawing homosexuality. Norcott's National Chamber voted 87-13 to outlaw all acts of homosexuality both in public and in private, and voted 61-39 to make public displays of homosexual behaviour potentially punishable by the death penalty. The Chamber also voted 91-9 to officially ban "harmful and degenerate attitudes" from television, online, radio and print media.

Following Norcott's formation after racial tensions in 2010 - 2011, the nation has been host to a string of controversies regarding its hardline and often fascistic stances on hot-button issues such as same-sex marriage, minority rights, transgender rights and immigration. Norcott exiled the vast majority of its non-European population in 2012, sending them to Australia via a Government programme. Later that same year, Islam and Judaism were outlawed in the country, with the former Labour Government cutting ties following this. Following their election win in 2016, the National Government re-established ties with the rogue state.

Norcott and Drongonia currently share both defence and intelligence information, as well as allow immigrants to move between the two countries as part of a visa-conditional migration agreement signed in 2018. Drongonia is one of only two countries in the world to share such an agreement with Norcott, with the other being Cancolastan. It was estimated in 2020 that there may be as many as 125,000 Norcottian citizens currently residing in Drongonia, the vast majority of whom are either sexual minorities or hold political and social views counter to that of Norcott's Government.

Labour leader Sarah Ellice condemned Norcott's Government, and addressed Prime Minister Bill English directly via social media on Saturday night, saying the following:
Sarah Ellice Image | @SarahElliceMP | March 6, 2021
Drongonia is no place for the kind of hatred and bigotry we see coming out of Norcott. It is up to all of us to condemn
Norcott for their disgusting new laws - but the responsibility lies squarely with @PMBillEnglish to get our message across.

Prime Minister English responded via Peaker with the following:
PM Bill English Image | @PMBillEnglish | March 6, 2021
Thank you @SarahElliceMP for your touching remarks, but real diplomats don't do their work via Peaker. If you take issue
with Norcott's laws, you're free to take it up with them. You're an MP, you have access to @ForeignAffairMin_DG staff!

Human Rights Watch Drongonia Chief Executive Larry Weissman said in an interview with TVDG, "the kind of oppression going on in Norcott is something that the average Drongonian couldn't likely fathom. I've spoken a lot in the media about how my perception of our current Government is a far-right one, but Norcott's government makes them [Drongonia's Government] look like Nordic social democrats. Something has to be done to stop the fascists in Norcott before they start another shoah or some other ethnic genocide."

Both the Labour and Green parties have officially petitioned the Office of the Prime Minister regarding cutting ties with Norcott, however an Official Information Act request made by TVDG suggests these requests have been ignored entirely.

Extract from Official Information Act Request #2021_03_06-02
The Office of the Prime Minister has discarded the petition materials in both cases due to the subject matter not meeting guidelines regarding severity.

Neither Prime Minister Bill English or Deputy Prime Minister Simon Baker could be reached for direct comment.

Arrests of multiple terrorists in Costa del Porto

Postby Medici Empire » Sun Mar 07, 2021 2:35 pm

In the seemingly peaceful village of Costa del Porto in the morning, the militia and our armed forces have uncovered a rebel hide-and-burner of great importance. After a few exchanges of gunfire, the rebels were finally captured by our armed forces. These terrorists will be taken to prisons for trial. Our good General Di Ravello has indicated that he is proud to know that our military and armed forces are carrying out these operations to destroy the terrorist nests. According to him, the rebellion will be soon a distant memory and Medici will be able to sleep well again.

Following a spate of protests over the past fortnight, Parliament voted on the fate of the Race Relations Bill 2021 today, with the Bill failing to pass through its first reading 46 votes to 74. The Race Relations Bill 2021 aimed to officially ban the immigration of non-Europeans into Drongonia, launch Government programs to discourage miscegenation, and criminalise "hate speech towards ethnic Drongonians".

No Members of Parliament were available for comment.

A list of the Parliamentarians' votes below has been provided by the Parliamentary Service. The Speaker of the House decided that due to the large public interest in the matter, voting on this Bill would not be treated as a conscience vote, where MPs votes are held as confidential unless the Member wishes otherwise. This ruling also allowed parties to vote in blocks, rather than individually. Notably, the Labour Party voted as a block against the further reading of the Bill, with the People's Front party voting for it as a block. National's party members were split as 42 yea, 17 nay.

Both the Libertarian and Green parties voted against the Bill's further reading, with one vote each.

Election of Egyptophobic Prime Minister hinders Jewish-Egyptian Peace Negotiations
Jerusalem, Israel; 5 March 2021; Roderick Eisenhauer
General Elections in the State of Israel have revealed a final result at last and dear reader, it looks grim. Nearly a year of parliamentary uncertainty, a lack of mandate for any single party and allegations of military rule in Israel ended today when the results of the March 1 Election finally came in. Israel has a new prime minister, and it is Elrich Goldstein, a hawkish member of the Knesset who's best known for ending every single one of his speeches in the parliament the decade prior to the eruption of the 7th Arab-Israeli War with 'Furthermore, I consider that Egypt must be destroyed'.

The position of the reactionary River-to-River party only strengthened after the Arab-Israeli War began, and anti-Arab, anti-Muslim sentiment among that country's population -justified as they may be, given the situation at hand- has given them nearly 33% of the seats this current election. Experts however worry about the potential aftermaths of this election in Israel's position in her ongoing war against all but three members of the Arab League. Only three days ago, Israel gained a decisive, final victory against Mr. Goldstein's favorite oratory punchingbag as Aswan, Egypt's last major city still under their control, was captured by Israel in the conclusion of the brutal Nile Campaign, and negotiations officially began between the two countries for a separate peace -a rarity as Egypt has yet to negotiate a separate peace in any of its previous wars with Israel. Now it remains unsure if Goldstein's Israel will accept any offer made by Egypt, whether Egypt will even rethink peace and begin a process of resistance, and whether peace without large-scale campaigns in Syria, Mesopotamia and Libya will even be as likely as it had only a 3 days ago now that a raging Arabophobe is in charge of the country that's been punishing its neighbors for their repeated wars of aggression this last 70 years.

Public holiday act passes Parliament 120-0, ensuring more holidays per year
Christchurch, Drongonia
April 2, 2021 | Danielle Baker

Public holidays have been increased effective immediately. // Photo: File

Parliament passed a new law yesterday, entitled Statutory Days Restructuring Act 2021, which increases the frequency of statutory days off, commonly known as public holidays. The Act also amended previous laws, allowing businesses to open early on ANZAC day and Election Day if they are deemed as an essential service. Election Day's status and special privileges have also been modified with the passage of the Act, which made history by being the first Act to pass Parliament unanimously since 2001, when the Internet Technology Initiative Act 2001 passed 120-0, giving government grants to tech startups.

The Act also changed the employment law relating to Election Day as it is celebrated. Previously, statutory pay increases for the public holiday did not apply to November 4th on election years, as the law was unclear. This means that anyone working on an Election Day is entitled to the same 1.5x pay and day in lieu as if they were to be working on November 4th when it is celebrated as Drongonia Day.

Below is a list of Drongonia's public holidays. Days highlighted in green have been added with the passage of the Act.
January 1, New Year's Day
January 2, Day After New Year's Day
February 1, Empire Day
March 17, St. Patrick's Day
(April, varies), Good Friday
(April, varies), Easter Monday
April 25, ANZAC Day
June 1, Cuisine Day
4th Monday of October, Labour Day
November 4, Drongonia Day (Celebrated on election years as Election Day)
December 24, Christmas Eve
December 25, Christmas Day
December 26, Boxing Day
December 31, New Year's Eve

Prime Ministerial Order bans use of "vaccine passports" nationwide, urges other nations to follow suit
Christchurch, Drongonia
April 3, 2021 | Danielle Baker

Prime Minister English addressed Parliament yesterday and delivered a Prime Ministerial order banning the use of a "vaccine passport" system, which would be used to determine entry or access to goods or services based on a person's vaccination status. The order, entitled as the "Freedom of Public Movement and Activity Order" specifically forbids "any government entity or private business operating within Drongonia" from "using a vaccination tracking system to determine eligibility to receive goods or services, or to enter premises."

The order follows a similar move from Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, who signed an executive order banning the use of vaccine passports within the state of Florida on Friday. The two orders share similar verbage and wording, but are thought to be unrelated in their construction and signing. This comes as Florida continues to suffer from the COVID-19 pandemic within the United States.

Prime Minister English also implored other nations to follow his lead during his Friday Parliamentary speech, saying that "...although it may seem tough at first, we as free and sovereign nations must take this opportunity during the new global reset to assert ourselves as places where our people are free to live, and our governments are free to lead. If we all stand together, we will be able to form a mighty union of great nations."

Great Pacific Switzerland's Chachellor Friedrich Vorgen released a statement saying that his government will be looking into a similar measure. Cancolastani Prime Minister Frank Burk tweeted in support of Drongonia's decision. Cancolastan implemented a similar Act of Parliament two weeks ago. Premier of Norcott John Norcott has reaffirmed his nation's stance on vaccine passports via Peaker today, saying that "...they [vaccine passports] are an evil concept". New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern said that the country would not be passing an anti-passport measure, but that any kind of vaccine passport is not on New Zealand's agenda.

It is understood that the Prime Minister has the support of the Deputy Prime Minister, the members of the People's Front and Libertarian parties, and the majority of the National Party caucus.

Independent report shows "no significant evidence" of Police racism
Christchurch, Drongonia
April 11, 2021 | Alistair Wilkes

The report has gained criticism, with anti-racism campaigners disagreeing with its findings.
Photo: // File

Image

An independent report, requested by the Ministry of Justice and carried out by Drongonia's largest private law firm, Schitt & Piess, has come under fire today for controversially stating that there is "...no significant evidence of Police racism in Drongonia."

The report was commissioned following an increase in racism-related complaints being laid to the Independent Police Conduct Authority (IPCA). The IPCA reported 25 such complaints from January 1 - March 31 2021, compared to 16 complaints over the same period in 2020 and 13 in 2019. The IPCA also revealed that 90% of all complaints where race or ethnicity was a factor originated in Nelson, Drongonia's most diverse city. The IPCA doesn't directly reprimand Police staff, but has the power to recommend disciplinary action in cases of alleged wrongdoing, and launch investigations into incidences it is made aware of.

The report, titled Police Racism in Drongonia - Do White Lives Matter More than Others?, cited that despite European ethnicites making up approximately 90% of the country's population, they accounted for 85% of all recorded "uses of excessive force" over the last ten years, arguing that this does not equal an under-representation and that other ethnicities are "only very slightly over-represented in these and other statistics." The report does highlight however, that of all individuals killed by police over the ten year, only 57% were European. The report goes onto explain that "...while on the surface, this number does seem to have a cursory link to some sort of racial discrimination, it must be acknowledged that of those who were killed by police, 96% were posthumously charged and found guilty. Of those who's deaths were found to be wrongful and illegal, 80% of them were European."

Drongonian Police Commissioner, David Wagner, appeared on popular radio station Newstalk ZX today, refuting the idea that the police were racist. "We don't deal with people of any particular race, the way I see it. We deal with criminals, be they White, Chinese, Indian, African or whatever. If someone commits a crime, they can expect to be treated the same way as anyone else - in accordance with the appropriate laws, and with human rights in mind. It bares no difference whether your skin is white, black, or purple with pink polka-dots."

Anti-racism campaigners refute this report, however. Lead spokesperson of anti-racist watchdog HOPE Not Hate Drongonia, Lucy Goldstein, told TVDG "The report ignores significant factors, such as the incidences of racial bias which aren't reported via official channels, but can be plainly seen on social media. The report dismissed these as 'hearsay' which is completely unacceptable."

The latest incident which experts say may have been the real reason for the report's authoring, occurred in Christchurch and involved a group of officers responding to a public nuisance complaint laid towards a small group of African youths. Audio allegedly recorded during the callout was released in which the officers allegedly call the youths "a pack of monkeys" and "just another group of annoying darkies". Christchurch Police Superintendent Gary Miller confirmed via social media last week that a full investigation had been launched, and that the officers involved had been placed on paid leave during the investigation.

Another incident in Nelson was recorded by a bystander, in which an officer can allegedly be heard calling a teenager of Middle Eastern appearance a "raghead" and telling the boy that "you're lucky you're [the boy] only being taken to the station, if it was your [the boy's] parents they would be going straight to the airport", implying they would be deported. This incident is also being investigated.

Officials from the Ministry of Justice declined to comment on the report or its findings, despite having commissioned it - citing the legal precedent that the Drongonian Police are independent from central government.

The full contents of the report is available via the Drongonian Police website's "public documents" section.

Ex-Army official says "Drongonia is deep in the Syrian Civil War on the wrong side", despite neutrality claim
Christchurch, Drongonia

supporting Assad's government. Photo: // File

An anonymous ex-Army official has given a bombshell interview on National Radio's daily current affairs programme, Today Tonight - alleging that despite numerous reassurances from the
Drongonian Government, Drongonia has been involved in the Syrian Civil War since as early as 2012, with involvement ramping up in 2017 following National's 2016 election win and the appointment of Scott Morris as Minister of Defence.

The ex-official, who claims to have served in the top ranks of the Drongonian Army, claims to have access to classified reports alleging a spend of up to $3bn between 2012 and 2020. According to
the ex-official, Drongonia's expenses thusfar have included purchasing Russian aircraft for use by Assad's army, contributions toward the wages of Syrian Government employees, and hosting top-secret training sessions both within Drongonia and Syria for the Syrian army's elite special forces.

The ex-official also alleged that former Prime Minister Robert Jacobson visited Syria in secret to talk with Assad and survey areas that the Drongonian Defence Force's engineer corps would recommend buildings for. Prime Minister Bill English is also reported to have met with Al-Assad, however, it is not yet known where this meeting took place or what the subject of the meeting was. Analysts TVDG spoke to were unable to find a meeting on the Prime Minister's public diary which would line up with such a logistically challenging encounter, however.

If true, this would put Drongonia at odds with the majority of its international allies, such as New Zealand, Australia, the United States and the United Kingdom - which have all officially called for Bashar Al-Assad's immediate removal from power.

This is not the first time the Drongonian Government has allegedly hid its involvement in overseas conflicts, with documents being released in 2009 showing that former Prime Minister David Jones had personally rubber-stamped the spending of hundreds of millions of dollars to participate in the Rhodesian Bush War on the side of the Rhodesian Government. At the time, the official stance of the government was that Drongonia stood with Rhodesia, but only provided training to members of its armed forces.

Bashar Al-Assad's government has been accused by international watchdogs of using Sarin gas, mustard agent and chlorine gas during the conflict, in direct contravention to international law. Syria is not a party to the Convention on Cluster Munitions and does not recognize the ban on the use of cluster bombs. The Syrian Army is reported to have begun using cluster bombs in September 2012. In 2017, it was alleged the Syrian Air Force used Sarin and chlorine gas for multiple attack. While Drongonia took a neutral stance at the time, the claims were dismissed by Syria and Russia.

Today the annual Committee on Unity and Justice Conference commences. All members of the National Assembly of the constituent Varenskjyrian parties have arrived earlier today and preparations for tomorrow's meeting are underway. The meeting is of utmost significance to the Federated Republic of Varenskjyr. Komidant Hjalmar Urzutkilsik has said that "the discussions taking place will be of major significance to the upcoming future of our nation." All premiers of the other Socialist Republics are also in attendance. Tomorrow's meeting will start with the General Oration, in which Komidant Hjalmar Urzutkilsik shall deliver an address to all members of the assembly. After that, specific committee meetings will take place before reconvening later the next day for the general discussion.

    Varenskjyrian People's Party: 73 seats
    Freedom and Development: 30 seats
    Committee of Social Welfare: 31 seats
    Uzbeylik Front: 10 seats
    Red Banners: 5 seats
    Young Uzbeyliks: 1 seat

At the highest priority of the agenda is to address the continued fight against separatism and extremism facing Varenskjyr. Since May 11, 1955, the Federated Republic of Varenskjyr has faced a deadly civil war, and the conflict remains ongoing to this day. Chief Orator Andrei il-Ghassan has asserted that new initiatives will be discussed that should "continue to strengthen our resolve and push us closer to defeating the separatist regimes and imperialist nations seeking to thwart us." Over the course of the last year, OSIS and VIAD have been successful in curbing radical religious extremism, but still threats remain. The Committee on Unity and Justice Conference will continue this trend as party members look toward budgetary requirements and needs for the upcoming year.

Officer exonerated in brutality case - riots triggered
Australian Republic, South Australia, Adelaide
April 14th, 2021
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Four officers of the South Australia Constabulary have been exonerated of all charges in their trial relating to the June 2020 beating of Alvin Marion, an aboriginal drug offence suspect. The officers; Sergeant Geoffrey Wilkes, Constable Nathan West, Constable Daniel Harris and Constable Amy Howse, were caught on video on June 15th, 2020, beating Marion following a traffic stop. Video showed the officers beating Marion with their nightsticks, kicking him and tasing him repeatedly. Marion received numerous serious injuries and was in hospital for two months. At the trial, the officers had claimed that they were in fear for their lives. Marion was not charged in relation to the incident. The officers were acquitted by majority white and asian juries, after the presiding judge ruled that he would accept a majority verdict.
Following the trial, at South Australia Regional Courthouse, protestors gathering outside turned violent. Missiles were hurled at the building and a group of people attempted to batter their way through the front doors, but were kept at bay by security guards discharging their pepper spray. As the officers left the courthouse, they and their entourages were pelted with eggs, stones and bottles as they dashed for several waiting police cars. Protestors chased the cars down the street, but soon returned their attention to the courthouse. Windows were shattered and one security guard was beaten by the mob. Several trash cans and a prisoner transport van were set on fire. The crowd was dispersed when S.A. Constabulary officers brought out two water cannon vehicles.
Despite this, riots spread to other areas of Adelaide. The inner city areas of Salisbury, Easton and Westcroft have been hit by major unrest, as rioters smash their way into stores, which are then looted and burned. An ABC News helicopter recording from above captured rioters ramming a seemingly-stolen van through the front window of a liquor store. ABC News teams on the ground interviewed rioters, who openly admitted to stealing. South Australia Constabulary officers were forced to retreat after coming under heavy bombardment of petrol bombs, rocks, stones and bottles. At least ten police vans have been destroyed, with protestors having overturned one, looting riot gear from inside. One rioter posed for pictures wearing a police helmet and holding a riot shield.
Around an hour ago, at ten o'clock (P.M.) an officer was struck and seriously wounded by a bullet fired from the direction of rioters in the Westcroft neighbourhood. The bullet, apparently from a small-caliber handgun, pierced the officers riot helmet and struck the back of his head. News cameras and bystanders captured the moment the officer was hit, as well as scenes of him being carried away by officers. Paramedics attempted to reach the scene, but also came under attack from rioters. Several Westcroft business-owners have reported being attacked by looters whilst attempting to protect their stores. Business owner James Thurmen reported that he was beaten over the head with a bottle by a rioter, forcing him to flee and see his business looted.
Small-scale civil unrest has been reported across other major cities, such as Perth, Brisbane, Sydney and Canberra. In Canberra, a small demonstration of around 100 people was forcefully dispersed by the Capital Police Service. President Venn, Interior Minister Davies and National Police Commissioner Randall Wells have condemned the rioting, and have pledged their support to the forces of law and order. President Venn reminded rioters, and anyone else thinking of joining the gatherings, that the assemblies are unlawful breaches of the COVID-19 restrictions on crowds larger than 300 people. Capital Police Service (C.P.S.) Commander Thomas Barry warned against any demonstrations, citing the same public health measures, and said that any unlawful assemblies will be dispersed, as one already has.
CENTRAL SHANEVILLE PRESIDENT POSEIDON'S BIG MOVE
14th April 2021 - The Commonwealth of Central Shaneville
---------------
Back in December in the first re-election in modern Central Shaneville history, President John Poseidon was able to clinch a first full term after he took over as Liberal Democrat Party leader from Chase Owens in 2018 following Owens resignation following a spell with illness - his first years on the run up to the 2020 Central Shaneville election were relatively quiet as was the first 4 months of his current term however today that apparently changes.
John Poseidon stood outside the Central Shaneville Parliament in the city of Lincoln and made a statement to the media suggesting a possible lift on Central Shaneville's isolation from the rest of the world, he was caught on tape saying "This nation is a great place to live and work, we must consider now after all these decades reuniting with the outside world in a political sense as the world changes around us we will finally have a say in affairs, its time for Central Shaneville to stop hiding."
Central Shaneville had been in isolation since the end the second world war following a victory for the allies (which is what Central Shaneville was on despite limited contribution due to a lack of resources) with parliament back then vowing to never get involved in foreign relations again, despite this the island nation continued to build up its air force and navy despite their being, in theory, no need too.
However with Poseidon's speech today, Central Shaneville could once again be open to trade and foreign relations once again with Poseidon promising "A new era for Central Shaneville, we're back in business." despite some media sites saying that this could be a very bad move.
Chaos at the CUPC last night
4.14.2021 - 14:40
Confusion and turmoil struck the halls of the Committee on Unity and Justice Conference last night. Things had already grown tense when it was revealed that several leading members of the Varenskjyrian government, including the Premier of Daqistan Ramzan Varenofsky, were not in attendance. Reportedly, members of the VIAD were immediately ordered by Komidant Hjalmar Urzutkilsik to find the location of the missing members. At the start of the conference around 20:31, much later than anticipated, many members of the assembly became aware of these absences.
Image
However, this was not the only event to dramatically rock the night. Shortly after Komidant Hjalmar Urzutkilsik finished delivering his opening speech, a group of ministers led by the Premier of Skjyrlund, Gunnar Hadradason, stood. Hadradason is reported to have banged his hands on his table and harshly denounced Komidant Urzutkilsik. Criticisms were lobbed at the Komidant for failing to curb the ongoing civil war, which has seen a number of different evolutions over the 70-year period. Despite the influx of weapons and foreign support, little has been done to curb the conflict, and the Varenskjyrian government has resorted to greater authoritarian measures. Premier Hadradason blamed the lack of progress on Komidant Urzutkilsik's lack of decisiveness and blatant corruption. Several other ministers, including a number from the Varenskjyrian People's Party (VPP) and Committee of Social Welfare (CSW), joined. In short time, the assembly descended into a number of screaming matches, with several ministers engaging in fist fights.
Around 21:03, officers of the VIAD had entered the assembly room, weapons drawn. As such, most of the ministers ended their actions, though a member of the Red Banners and a minister from Tartashia, Ahmed Gregori, was severely beaten after refusing to comply. Most ministers were forcefully escorted out of the area, while around nine were taken to the Barakhazi People's Hospital for injuries related to the brawls that had taken place. Komidant Urzutkilsik was seen escorted by five armed VIAD officers to a safe house. Meanwhile, a search was conducted by VIAD and local gendarmerie forces for Premier Hadradason, but Hadradason seems to have escaped during the chaos with around eleven ministers. Unnamed witnesses may have seen OSIS and renegade VIAD officers assist Hadradason, but as of April 14, 2021, these remain unconfirmed. Around 22:17, minor skirmishes broke out in the city of Kaldrheim in Skjyrlund, with the headquarters of Premier Hadradason having been ransacked and looted. The Democratic Front believes this to be the work of the Uzrutkilsik regime.
Although a lot remains in the air, the actions that emerged last night are deeply concerning to the Democratic Front. For non-Uzbeylik readers, it is important to remember that the Federated Republic of Varenskjyr is a single-party republic led by the Varenskjyrian Communist Party (VCP). All parties of the Assembly are constituents of the VCP and are merely provide an illusion of some sort of representative government. In fact, the majority of power resides in the hands of the party's inner circle. While the makeup of this circle is obscured, experts believe that the Komidant, deputy Komidant, regional premiers, and heads of the military, VIAD, and OSIS make up the major stakeholders. The actions of Premier Hadradason are not unprecedented, but they are worrying.
Throughout Varenskjyrian history, ambitious premiers have attempted to declare independence or commit coups for the sake of power. The origins of the Varenskjyrian Civil War derive from rebellions by the premiers of Daqistan, Tartashia, and Yaroslav, and throughout the decades other premiers have followed suit. Internal power struggles and coups have also occurred. A recent example includes the attempted coup of 2011, when an Arab general named Hussein al-Ghassan led a group of officers to try and capture the city of Barakhazi and oust the regime of Komidant Einnar Ragnvald. What is unique about this situation is that throughout the history of Varenskjyr, the Komidant and Premier of Skjyrlund have often worked hand in hand, and in fact the position of Skjyrlund's Premier is often seen as a position of succession. Premier Hadradason to directly challenge Komidant Urzutkilsik represents a very significant and potentially destabilizing turning point.
We at the Democratic Front urge all Varenskjyrian citizens to be cautious for the upcoming future. We've seen what happens with these "leaders," and the suffering many citizens must face in their wake.
General Secretary Altidiya Revoltsova starts the "Gentle Purge"
Image
Yesterday, on April 05, 1009 ALB, a resolution was debated in the Supreme Soviet to eliminate corruption within the Party proposed by Comrade General Secretary Altidiya Revoltsova, which has been a staple on the her political agenda since the beginning of her election.
Since the Popular Commission for the Fight against Corruption was established, in fact, there have been more than 100 arrests among Party officials for corruption and abuse of power, but taking only small fish.
This until yesterday.
According to the Comrade General Secretary, the Commission managed to complete, thanks also to the reporting of citizens, the list of officials and foremen who took advantage of the power entrusted to them by the Stalliongradian People, bringing out some important names in the military, health and administrative fields.
The matter was brought into the Council of People's Commissars for greater consultation and approval by the rest of the government. The proposal managed to convince a large part of the Council, but found stiff opposition from the People's Commissar of Defense Sinister Serov and some perplexities on the part of the People's Commissar of Internal Affairs Heavy Storm. The two Commissars complained that such a large-scale arrests and layoffs would have created gaps in the military chain of command that could only have been filled by reducing spending on defense forces.
Given the immovability of both leaders, it was decided to bring the proposal to the attention of the Supreme Soviet.
The session started around 9 pm and ran for nearly two and a half hours, splitting the Supreme Soviet in half. Some Congresstallions applauded the proposal as it could have rid Stalliongrad of any profiteer and lighten the burden of taxation on the back of working citizens; others accused General Secretary Altidiya Revoltsova of simply getting rid of those they do not like and still others of having sold herself to foreign reactionary powers and weakening the nation by depriving it of its military strength by starting a "purge disguised by kindness", given the refusal of Comrade Revoltsova to use the corporal or death penalty.
Comrade General Secretary Altidiya Revoltsova defended herself from the accusations by saying that the funds destined for welfare and defense would be restored as soon as possible, but only after cleaning the nation of any Profiter who acts in the name of Socialism only to be able to deceive their Comrades; whether they are generals, foremen, industrialists or doctors.
The vote then proceeded and ended with 128 members in favor, 116 against and 6 abstentions, passing the proposal with a minimum of advantage.
To try to appease the opposition protests that arose at the end of the vote, General Secretary Altidiya Revoltsova guaranteed that the suspects will have a regular trial before the People's Court, recalling once again the Socialist Rule on which the nation is based and that this is an important step in making Stalliongrad a true Communist nation.
From tomorrow (April 06, 1009 ALB), the names of the suspects will be communicated to the Investigation Offices that will carry out the arrests and dismissals of the officials involved.
New “Crimson Virus” detected in Saarland
Saarbrücken- A new disease has been detected in the Trenakan region of Saarland, in the regional capital of Saarbrücken. This disease, called the Crimson Virus due to the symptoms it causes, has infected around 14,200 people in Saarland so far, with 284 people dying of the disease. This Crimson Virus is called that because it causes the body’s immune system to be so overworked that it causes the patient to over heat with fever, turning their skin a deep crimson. Most of the 284 deaths from the Crimson Virus have been caused by hyperthermia, or excessive heat.
The Saarland regional congress voted Thursday afternoon to approve a travel ban from Saarland to Rhineland-Palatinate, Saarland’s only neighboring region, to stop the spread of the virus. The national congress voted to declare a state of emergency in Saarland, freeing up federal funds to help with the crisis. Researchers in Berlin and Munich have announced that they are working on getting an experimental vaccine into clinical trials to be released to the public. They estimate that it will take up to a year to conduct the trials and get authorization from the Federal Medical Regulatory Agency, or FMRA.
Polish President rules out any possibility of Polish-European thaw in press release
Warsaw, Poland; 21 March 2021; Malcolm Fraser
Adrian Pulasky, Poland's president and de facto head of state for life, ruled out any possibility of closer, or even a normalised, relationship between his home country of Poland and the European Union, ending the hopes of activists on both sides of the border who had been working on improving Poland's image in Europe all these years. Pulasky appeared at the Koniecpolski Palace's front steps to address 24 media representatives at 9:30 this morning, and while answering a number of questions, he grew somewhat angry when a representative of EuroNews asked him if there was anything he could share about a potential 'Polish-European thaw'. After a few minutes of pause, president Pulasky responded to the Franco-Polish newscaster that 'Poland cannot have any diplomatic relations with the European Commonwealth so long as Lithuania occupies Wilno'.
The Wilna Question, as the dispute between Poland and Lithuania over the ownership of Central Lithuania -which Poland claims as the 'occupied Wilno Voivodeship'- has defined Polish-Lithuanian relations since the two countries were established following the collapse of the Russian Empire in 1921. Throughout the Interbellum and for much of the Cold War, Poland controlled this zone after its victory in the brief Polish-Lithuanian War of 1925, which was cemented in the a further war between the two nations in 1939-41, but the territory changed hands back to its rightful owners in Lithuania after the European Commonwealth's intervention in the Polish-Lithuanian War of 1978-81, at the conclusion of which the European Commonwealth pledged to recognise Lithuania as the 'sole claimant to the Vilnius region'.
Poland's loss in its most recent war with Lithuania, something that was only achieved by European countries' aid to Lithuania in form of logistics and arms support, volunteer divisions, economic benefits and eventually all-out intervention on their behalf, has shaken the Polish psyche for the last 40 years, but attempts had been made by the European Community at large and Lithuania in particular for reconciliation with the Polish republic while specifying that Wilna could not be given to Poland under any circumstances, but it remains to be seen how Polish-European relations will sour with these recent changes.
Interior Ministry issues curfew and ban on large gatherings
Gatherings of more than three banned and curfew of 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. introduced as riots worsen
Australian Republic, South Australia, Adelaide
April 20th, 2021
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Interior Minister Liam Pearce has announced the introduction of a curfew of 8 p.m. to 5 a.m., as well as a ban on gatherings of more than three people, in response to worsening nationwide riots. Riots related to anti-racist groups have rocked Australia for six days, since the exoneration of a group of four police officers allegedly involved in the beating of an unarmed and non-resisting aboriginal motorist. Seven people have already been killed, one police officer was killed on day one of the riots in Adelaide after being shot in the back of the head, and six other civilians were murdered whilst trying to make their way through riot-hit areas, or attempting to defend their own homes or businesses.

Interior Minister Pearce announced the curfew at around nine o'clock this morning, after word spread via social media of a planned "4/20"-themed protest to be held tonight outside the Supreme Court, in Canberra. Capital Police Service Commander, Thomas Barry, announced that force would be used if protestors were to assemble. Whilst Canberra has remained mostly unscathed, cities such as Adelaide, Perth, Brisbane and Sydney have been hit hard by the riots, with hundreds of millions of dollars in damage already done. Video footage was aired by ABC News last night, which showed rioters turning over and looting a truck carrying a cargo of alcohol. Another ironic photo showed a car dealerships sign displaying the words "Aboriginal Lives Matter" - whilst the car dealership burned in the background.

President Venn has spoken out in favor of the curfew, stating that zero-tolerance will be given to the rioters. Venn has also floated the idea of deploying the Internal Guard or the National Police Emergency Command, a nationwide-based police force convened in times of emergency or crisis.
