This is the UIC's thread for any of its 4 principal organs, debates, and passing laws only.

To create a law for queue, send a telegram to the United International Cooperative and we will see whether it is legal. A law will be designated as illegal if it goes against our goal of world peace, stability, and prosperity, attempts to abolish the UIC, or is seen as very radical.

Currently, there are 2 laws in queue, both by The Allied Tribe. The next law to reach queue will be given the Resolution number of 4.

International Rules of War

Recognizing that creating a set of rules in law is necessary to prevent evasion by nations,

Understanding that the UIC is an organization dedicated to promoting peace,

Believing that the creation of these laws will promote peace and protect innocent people from harm,

Seeking to end any further extreme acts of violence committed by rogue nations,

Hereby;

1. Prohibits targeting anybody not fighting in the war, including but not limited to civilians and aid workers. Intentionally targeting them will result in ejection from the UIC and an embargo by all UIC members.
2. Bans the use of WMDs unless absolutely necessary. (e.g. a rogue nation in possession of WMDs using them or threatening to use them) Violation of this rule once will result in the nation being banned from participating in 2 UIC resolution votes. Violation of this rule twice will result in ejection from the UIC, and high tariffs on trade with UIC members. Violation of this rule thrice will result in an embargo by all UIC members.
3. Requires that the sick and wounded, regardless of their side, are to be cared for and then sidelined for the rest of the war. Violation of this rule once will result in the nation being banned from participating in 1 UIC resolution vote. Violation of this rule twice will result in the nation being banned from participating in 2 UIC resolution votes. Violation of this rule thrice will result in an ejection from the UIC.
4. Prohibits all forms of poor treatment of prisoners and torture. Violation of this rule once will result in the nation being banned from participating in 2 UIC resolution votes. Violation of this rule twice will result in ejection from the UIC, and high tariffs on trade with UIC members. Violation of this rule thrice will result in an embargo by all UIC members.
5. Prohibits the intentional killing of former belligerents who are no longer able to fight. Violation of this rule once will result in the nation being banned from participating in 2 UIC resolution votes. Violation of this rule twice will result in ejection from the UIC, and an embargo by all UIC members.
6. Prohibits belligerents from committing any crime the nation they are fighting in deems illegal during a war. If the government does this intentionally, violation of this rule once will result in the nation being banned from participating in 2 UIC resolution votes, violation of this rule twice will result in ejection from the UIC, and high tariffs on trade with UIC members, and violation of this rule thrice will result in an embargo by all UIC members.
7. Acknowledges that civilians must receive the protection they need from war and receive help if necessary.

Defines a "war crime" as a violation of any of these laws established by the UIC, and a "rogue nation" or "rogue state" as a nation in violation of these laws.

Confirms that these laws apply to all nations in the UIC, now or in the future, as well as all nations outside of the UIC.
