Got the pfizer. It was surprising very efficient. I was in quick. They didn’t keep the paper work. Filled it out and they took photos of it. Waited 15 minutes and went home.

So far it’s been a numb arm. If anything it will probably hit tomorrow. Mrs. Bumi got hers and was wiped out for a day or two.

It was a pleasant experience overall. Everybody was happy.

It’s amazing what happens when you have a plan and goals. Something the ex-president could not accomplish if he even wanted let alone cared.

It is not that I don't trust it, the whole idea that the vaccine causes all these weird things is absolutely wrong. But for me, I rather distance myself from people and wear my mask than take the vaccine, since it is new and all. But if you want the vaccine then go ahead get it!

As with most things....it depends.

What vaccines are available to you?

Always remember no vaccine is guaranteed to be without side effects. Some people handle it well. Some have issues and those with extra issues can be a problem.

There has been enough time where people observed early warning signs. I was given a list and told if you run into these call for help right away.

As to social distancing and masks. They are the proper thing to do. The problem? They are not a guarantee. I have been dealing with depression (details are not worth going into) and the plague have all but turned me into an agoraphobic. I only went out for things like food or cleaning materials.

I ended up getting covid anyway. Mrs. Bumi accidentally gave it to me. People tried to tell me now I am free of it. Sadly that is not the case and the only solution is the vaccine.

Keep in mind I was thinking like you. Anything championed by Trump can’t be trusted.

The problem? Trump is a failed leader and he really didn’t do much. Didn’t care. Even Warp Speed is overblown for what it accomplished. His “saving” program even has a dark side. He helped fund it by taking over 10 billion which was earmarked to give to hospitals for supplies and help. Anyway; we really shouldn’t discuss one of the worst presidents ever in this thread.

My advice. Get it. If you have health issues, get it. If you interact with ANYBODY who is old and or has health issues, get it. Having said that? Keep in mind many people will not admit to health issues. Those that do? Tend to have something really bad and want people to understand.

Don’t be like Mrs. Bumi and accidentally pass it on.

You have a virus that spreads when people are gathered in large numbers, so the German government wants to implement a curfew from 9PM - 5AM when FAR FEWER PEOPLE ARE OUTSIDE. Brilliant work, geniuses, go arrest the guy out for a walk at 2AM all by himself who can't spread the virus to anyone cause no one is around!

But are they going to close down the schools, something that would actually make sense? No, they're going to wait for TWICE AS MANY PEOPLE TO GET SICK and THEN they'll do it.

And once again, just like the second wave back in October, they waited MONTHS to do ANYTHING. Here in Northrhein-Westphalia, the second wave had been rising since October, then a week before Christmas they're like "aaaaaannnnnd... now we close. Maybe announce the closure with one days notice to guarantee that literally everyone goes shopping at the same time, what could go wrong?"

Data for PH as of April 10th, 1600 PHT/0400 EDT.

Detailed update in Tagalog. Key data to consider:
  • 40868 people were tested, with a 20.7% positivity rate. That's 8460 positive results for SARS-CoV-2 if you did the math and rounded off to the nearest whole person because 8459.676 is the exact amount.
  • 12674 people were added to the "I have The Coof" tally.
  • 593 people moved to the "I survived The Coof" tally, and 225 people croaked.

The idea is to discourage visits to friends and family after the working day. If you need to home by 9 it is assumed that far less people will make such visits; severely reducing the spread.

"But why did they not just forbid that then Alma? "

Why, because the police cannot simply bust open every door to check how many visitors you have. But they can check people being outside at certain times.

As was clearly and repeatedly explained when the governments of the various nations implemented it.

And people go for walks at night too. You're gonna just harass everyone out on the street cause some might be visiting friends?

They lockdown and do things that actually might help keep people alive and you're upset

They don't lockdown but instead do meaningless measures to throw up the illusion that they're doing something and you're upset.

What do you propose exactly?

Dr. Fauci warns against traveling, indoor events, and crowds even post-vaccination

Movie theaters? No. "That would still be of concern to me," Fauci said.

Bars and restaurants where maskless people are eating and drinking inside?
Nope

Domestic travel? "I don't see that in my life," Fauci said. "When this is all over, then I'll worry about that."

He recommends that people - vaccinated or unvaccinated - continue to avoid crowds until we know more about whether vaccinated people spread the virus. He suggests we continue to wear masks, continue to social distance, and have patience. He advises that vaccinated people continue their pre-vaccination COVID behaviors.

What worries me specifically is all the bars, clubs, and event venues I've seen in my state opening up at full capacity. We have packed bars of 2,000, 3,000 kids in our college towns, for instance. You'd figure that is just asking for COVID.

Oh wow that's terrifying and probably very much a big thing, yeah.

To be fair, I've been traveling domestically - on a weekend trip to the mountains now - and eating in restaurants up here when meeting with friends. But like, the restaurants are limited capacity, socially distanced, we're social distancing, etc.

I mean, there are so many things I want to do. Especially as I've recently wanted to challenge myself to put myself out there more and find some new friends and become more extroverted but like this just isn't a good time for all that so I don't do any of that.

Johnson & Johnson vaccine distribution to slow down 84% next week

Just as the Biden administration is moving up its deadline to make vaccine eligibility available to all adults by April 19, the supply of at least one of the vaccines, Johnson & Johnson's, is slowing down, and with some of its manufacturing challenges at an independent plant that has had problems in the past, it's unclear exactly when it will pick back up again.

Next week, the number of Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccines allocated to states and other jurisdictions by the federal government is expected to drop 84%, according to a CNN analysis of data from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. In contrast, the supply of Pfizer/BioNTech and Moderna vaccines remain steady for next week. J&J would not directly answer CNN's questions about why the supply has slowed down, but Jeff Zients, the White House COVID-19 response coordinator said at a briefing Friday, that the supply to states won't change until its independent manufacturing plant gets a green light from the FDA.

"Johnson and Johnson expects a relatively low level of weekly dose delivery, until the company secures FDA authorization," Zients said.

Because that would look extremely sus and people would stop trusting the vaccine approval process, undermining the entire effort. Come on, its not that hard to figure out.

Would you trust ground beef if the USDA inspections for it were rushed and half-assed, especially if said cornercutting was explicitly intended to get more product on the shelves with no regard for the consequences?
