Essentially, I think it would impact based on Murphy and Porter sharing the same base to some degree, subsequently meaning that Minnesota voters who support both potentially being more likely to vote for Murphy in the Democratic primary than Porter in the Republican primary due to it being the former’s home state.

There are voters who would have voted for Porter and Murphy in Minnesota(white working class voters). Their existence varies from State to State from being as common as a Never Trump Republican in Alabama to throwing the race in Minnesota and Maine.

Btw MN is not like the other midwestern States. It is a State that Rubio won in 2016, and Trump came in 3rd during. MN is very highly educated, and has a large suburban Republican set of voters that would loathe to give Porter the nomination.
