YN's policy on shirtlessness

Postby Casabo » Mon Mar 29, 2021 7:55 am

I know that there are so many topics talking about YN's policies on "nudity". But, forgetting that, and talking only about partial nudity...

What are your nation's policies on shirtlessness?
Are men allowed to be shirtless?
Are women allowed to be shirtless?
Are boys allowed to be shirtless?
Are girls allowed to be shirtless?
Where in YN is it likely common to be shirtless?
Where in YN is it not common/allowed to be shirtless?
Does your nation follow prudism?

In Casabo, it's very common to see shirtless boys all around the country, considering that it's very hot all year round and there's also some beaches in the south, west and east as well. Women are allowed to show up shirtless at nudist beaches as well as those women belonging to a certain Bantustan/tribe/village. Boys are also allowed to do certain sports and disciplines while shirtless, like swimming pool, shirts vs skins and during PE when it's hot as f...
For girls, it's no problem when they're shirtless when they belong to a tribe (ex. Khoikhoi) or when they're 0-12 years old. There are no policies on modesty.

It is legal for anyone to be shirtless in public in Australia, though it is far more common for men to be as such. One would most commonly see people shirtless undertaking recreation (i.e. at the beach, playing sport, at the park, etc..) but it is also fairly common on especially hot days to see people out and about as such.

Comparatively, there are few occupations in which one would be able to work shirtless, as either a uniform or safety equipment (at least to the extent of some form of clothing for the torso) would be required. Exceptions would include lifeguards, porters, some construction workers, and athletes (although some would be required to wear team uniforms).

Likewise, in educational settings, shirtlessness would typically be limited to some sporting and aquatic activities for students, with students required to be in uniform (or casual clothing, depending on the school) at most other times.

These aforementioned restrictions are far more for practicality than any sort of prudishness - Australia has a very casual culture. It is completely socially acceptable for men and prepubescent children to be in public shirtless. It is also largely socially acceptable for women to do so, though mileage may vary from person to person and from commune to commune. As tattoos are widely accepted, shirtlessness is often embraced by those with extensive tattooing.

All Australics are very conscious of the dangers of sunburn and skin cancer, especially so for those who chose to be shirtless during the day. Whilst it is strongly encouraged that people keep their skin covered during times in which the UV factor is high, most people are cognizant enough to keep up their sunscreen and keep to the shade whenever possible - tanning for the sake of tanning is considered irresponsible.

I...I...well, there is at least one person in particular who is (semi-canonically-ish) definitively NOT allowed to be shirtless in public.

Alastair, you know what you did.

What are your nation's policies on shirtlessness? I mean, there are no laws against it, but it's considered common courtesy to at least have a tank top/sports bra on.
Are men allowed to be shirtless? Sure, in casual settings.
Are women allowed to be shirtless? Sure, in casual settings. (But please at least wear a bra/swimsuit top).
Are boys allowed to be shirtless? Same as above. For babies, at least make sure they're wearing a diaper.
Are girls allowed to be shirtless? Same as above. For babies, at least make sure they're wearing a diaper.
Where in YN is it likely common to be shirtless? The pool/beaches/while exercising
Where in YN is it not common/allowed to be shirtless? Formal settings, especially GOVERNMENT FUNCTIONS, ALASTAIR.
Does your nation follow prudism? Sort of. While WF is mostly religious and fairly conservative, the country loves Shakespeare...and Shakespeare wrote no shortage of dirty jokes.

What are your nation's policies on shirtlessness? Legal and actively encouraged as the minimum for non... oh, I believe the Yojuan term is "black tie" and above affairs.
Are men allowed to be shirtless? At least, yes.
Are women allowed to be shirtless? At least, yes.
Are boys allowed to be shirtless? This is where it gets a tad odd. Broadly, it's the same as above for the smallest infants and toddlers, but children and teenagers are expected to be clothed most of the time.
Are girls allowed to be shirtless? Same as above.
Where in YN is it likely common to be shirtless? Just about anywhere except extremely formal settings, such as certain high-level government meetings and religious services (except where allowed in the latter), and situations where it would be just plain unsafe.
Where in YN is it not common/allowed to be shirtless? See above.
Does your nation follow prudism? Hardly. Most Samanohuwans are practicing nudists except in formal settings, though children and teenagers of certain ages, generally 4 to ~16, are generally expected not to partake in it, though there are few laws on it.

What are your nation's policies on shirtlessness? There's not really that many policies...partly because Aerlanica is an Egalitarian society and partly because the nation is struggling to rebuild and just stay alive.

Are men allowed to be shirtless? to a certain extent; in jobs such as surgery, hazardous material handling and cleaning as well as any multitude of military jobs its generally seen as...dangerous and uncouth. Outside of that they don't really care. Then again, if they physically dont have any shirts or similar items of clothing some will be provided by welfare services.

Are women allowed to be shirtless? again, in the aforementioned jobs its frowned upon because its putting you or your fellow countrymen at risk, but outside of that its not really cared about. Again, clothing that needs to be procured can be done so from governmental welfare services.

Are boys allowed to be shirtless? (See above)

Are girls allowed to be shirtless? (see above)

Where in YN is it likely common to be shirtless? The morgue when your on the slab

Where in YN is it not common/allowed to be shirtless? The military, those people are professionals; they have standards.

Does your nation follow prudism? Honestly, its whatever the individual wants to do so long as it doesn't impact on other peoples freedoms...if a person wants to be prudish they can, no ones going to stop them, they're too busy trying to not die.

Are women allowed to be shirtless? Yes, under certain circumstances.
Are boys allowed to be shirtless? Yes.
Are girls allowed to be shirtless? Certain circumstances, like when they do not induce the crime of public calamity.

Does shirtless imply having pants? If so that is illegal. If it implys no pants, that is mandatory.
Hardhats, boots, kneepads, elbowpads, weapon holsters/pockets, surgical scrubs and masks are allowed per profession. The military and police are allowed full attire. The merchant marine are permitted limited use of attire if they bave to go to port in a prudish country, but property of the mkgnr the laws of mkgnr applies so they don't wear it on the ship.
At wartime we dress in very modest military attire.
Edit: oh forgot, foreigners that are tourist are allowed clothing but everyone will think you are in the military or police and currently have a weapon (on yourself) and plus they can't identify your sex so they will default to very formal business speech. It's not a good way to socialize.

What are your nation's policies on shirtlessness? Yes, to some extent only. Showing some bare skin is allowed but public nudity is illegal.

Are men allowed to be shirtless? Yes

Are women allowed to be shirtless? Yes

Are boys allowed to be shirtless? Odd question, they can to some extent. But are expected to be clothed most of the time

Are girls allowed to be shirtless? Okay this seems to be an FBI watchlist question, same as above, it really depends on the age.

Where in YN is it likely common to be shirtless? Around the beach mostly, some can be found around near their homes or at park (people jogging or exercising), depends on the occasion.

Where in YN is it not common/allowed to be shirtless? Around religious buildings/sites, and it's not really common here.

Does your nation follow prudism? Nope, not exactly. There's no law regarding how or what you should dress (though, you might get into trouble if you get into crossdressing in public).

Are men allowed to be shirtless? In certain places.
Are women allowed to be shirtless? In certain places.
Are boys allowed to be shirtless? In certain places.
Are girls allowed to be shirtless? In certain places.
Where in YN is it likely common to be shirtless? Beaches, public places during summer (mostly tourists), places where public nudity is allowed
