STATEMENT ON COLLAPSE OF AUCTOR

Tonight, the region of Auctor was thrown into chaos when its Founder, Verate, banned all region members and locked the region. This statement is being published as the official response of The League due to Auctor's status as an embassy region.

Firstly, while The League recognizes the mechanical reality of Founder supremacy, however, we also believe that regional communities have a reasonable right to self-determination and preservation. As a result of this stance, our government condemns the actions of Verate and does not recognize them as reasonable or otherwise valid.

The League recognizes President Tinhampton as the rightful Head of State and executive of Auctor. Noting the destruction caused by the Founder, we recognize the government of Sophia, founded by President Tinhampton, as the full and legitimate successor to Auctor. Consequently, we are transitioning onsite embassies and all other related diplomatic measures to the region of Sophia, effective immediately.

Furthermore, we will provide any political or otherwise logistical support necessary as requested by the Sophian government.

This statement is hereby verified and signed by the Heads of State, executive leadership, and figurehead of the legislature.

I got to write a cool diplomatic statement though, so that's a win.

Honestly, it's a shame when stuff like this happens. Founder sovereignty is a mechanical reality but not all of its actions are inherently defensible. Before Verate returned I had considered reaching out to Auctor about a defense treaty, but then they came back so I figured all would be well.

Hopefully, Sophia can recover decently. Even if they struggle, we have no intentions to hold this against them in any way and are transitioning foreign relations regarding them in full with no interruption, and are considering further measures to support Tinhampton's government that may arise. We take these sort of things quite seriously with our partners.

The Director of Foreign Affairs is pleased with the recent revival of The League's Defense Forces and is privileged to reiterate that The League is staunchly defender oriented. The Department of Foreign Affairs is committed to working with the Defense Forces and our allies to enhance defender interests in military affairs, diplomatic affairs, and the World Assembly Security Council.

Reestablishment of Diplomatic Relations with The Union of Democratic States:

Following a conference with leaders of the The Union of Democratic States, The League is proud to announce that diplomatic relations have been officially restored after a thirty day informal period. The two governments entered into an agreement, that will involve a three month period where The League will have a consulate on the UDS' forum and the UDS will have a Discord-embassy on The League's foreign affairs discord server. The Director of Foreign Affairs is pleased that the Consulate's negotiations with the leadership of the UDS have been so successful and looks forward to a working relationship with the UDS.

Opening of an Embassy in The East Pacific:

The League's Foreign Affairs Department have worked since February with the Office of the Consulate to reopen and rebuild diplomatic relations with The East Pacific, which has culminated in re-establishment of an onsite embassy, to which Diplomatic Agent Gjorka has been assigned.

On the Development of Sophia:

The League's Department of Foreign Affairs continues to support the development of the new region under the leadership of Tinhampton as Philosopher-Queen and President. The Director of Foreign Affairs is proud of our Defense Forces' operations in Sophia to help show support for our alliance with the region.

Talking like hawks, raiding like pheasants.

For all the talk about being the most feared on NationStates, The Black Hawks might not even be the most feared birds! Hearing of this elusive avifauna, The League's Defense Forces and The Order of the Grey Wardens set out to see for themselves what powerful birds of prey soared above the fields of tall grass!

Waking up to the sound of birds squawking amongst themselves, Quebecshire and Lyoa gathered their friends before meeting up with their Warden friends, having also heard the boastings of these aggressive fowl.

Despite the tales, the hunters found nothing but pheasants above the fields, perching upon, squawking into the windows of, and attempting to break into the houses on the edges! Having none of this, the hunters followed the small birds wherever they fluttered themselves to, and prevented them from entering a single innocent home by blasting them off the roofs as they clumsily stumbled onto them!

Feeling satisfied with their work, the hunters returned home within the half-hour, arms filled with pheasants, to enjoy roasted pheasant with some elderberry tea made by Vincent Drake!

As of today, our community is five years old. Originally founded by Quebecshire and Adawn as The League of Conservative Nations, The League’s community reached five years of consecutive and functional existence today, April 17th, 2021.

The League has had a rich five years of political, social, and regional history. While many of our older members have resigned to inactivity or to the boneyard of NationStates, many from years past remain today alongside our vibrant newer members, working to bring The League to new heights.

From early political turmoil, Presidential era’s coming and going, the LCN-UCN War, our strife with the FCN, the introduction of the wiki, and now to our diplomatic and military renaissance, all alongside a number of things not listed here, The League has had a proud and eventful history.

As we look back on these past five years, we also look forward to what the future has to offer The League. Our recent diplomatic outreaches and military revival have provided us with newfound opportunities in the gameplay world both in the interregional sphere at large and the defender sphere in particular, and the Office of the Consulate has high hopes for the future of The League and its institutions.

We owe a great thanks to our citizens and residents who drive The League forward in its chosen paths, and to those abroad who have aided and supported our region. We are grateful for what we learned, built, and improved over the last five years, and we hope for many more as a part of the NationStates community. We can't wait to see what comes next.

After the successful bump of a region that has consistently attempted to undermine The League for years, a large amount of coping ensued. NEW EXECUTIVE APPOINTMENTS

Following a vacancy in the Consulate resulting from needing to remove and ban Eminople due to an out-of-character concern brought to our administration's attention (there is an announcement on our server, but ooc-administrators will not be going into detail with non-relevant-admins for the safety and privacy of others involved), the government of The League had an extremely busy night attempting to resolve these issues and vacancies.

As a result of these events, there are two extremely important government changes in The League that are taking place, and this gameplay update will elaborate on both of those. The two positions impacted are a seat as Consul of the Republic (one of the three Heads of State) and the Director of Foreign Affairs.

Office of the Consulate

The two remaining Consuls, Terranihil and I, deliberated carefully regarding who would become the next Consul of the Republic. A number of factors had been considered including experience, inclination to impartiality, and the stability of the remaining institutions of government.

Ultimately, we have chosen Paleocacher to become the newest Consul of the Republic of The League. Paleocacher has previous experience as Director of Foreign Affairs and World Assembly Delegate, Council Delegate, and Diplomatic Agent. During these deliberations, the Consulate decided that Paleocacher remaining the World Assembly Delegate would be ideal and Creeperopolis submitted An Act to Revise the World Assembly Delegacy to break the legal link between the Director of Foreign Affairs and WAD and to empower the Consulate to select the WAD and create a relevant possible apparatus for handling World Assembly affairs for the Republic.

I promise I will do my utmost to uphold the laws of The League, to protect and properly serve its citizens, and to do this job to the best of my ability. I thank Chief Consul Quebecshire, and Consul Terranihil for granting me this opportunity.

Paleocacher took office as Consul of the Republic today on 4 May 2021 and will be further integrated into his new position in the coming days.

Director of Foreign Affairs

With Paleocacher's ascension to Consul of the Republic, the office of Director of Foreign Affairs had been vacated. Once the decision was made to pursue a revision of the World Assembly Delegacy, the Consulate's options in choosing a specific Director opened up more signifigantly. After some deliberation and a voice-call interview, the Office of the Consulate, pursuant to An Act to Establish The League Foreign Affairs Department, has appointed Creeperopolis as Director of Foreign Affairs.

Creeperopolis has an extensive background in regional governance in The League as the longest consecutive serving Council Delegate, the former General of the Armed Forces, and the current Archivist of the Republic tasked with documenting many important pieces of regional information and history. We look forward to Creeperopolis' management of the Department of Foreign Affairs and his ability to aid the Consulate in strengthening current relationships and establishing new ones. A statement from the new Director to the interregional community is below,

I would like to express my gratitude to the Consulate of the Republic for selecting me as the 4th Director of Foreign Affairs of The League. I would also like to thank Paleocacher for his 176 day service as Director of Foreign Affairs from his appointment on 9 November 2020 to his ascension as Consul of the Republic on 4 May 2021. I am the Holy Traditionalist Empire of Creeperopolis, or more commonly known as simply “Creeper,” and I am currently a Council Delegate of The League and the Archivist of the Republic.

During my directorship over the Department of Foreign Affairs, I will seek to increase, expand, strengthen, and develop relations between The League and defender regions, but also with unaligned regions. The Department of Foreign Affairs will cooperate and work with the World Assembly Delegacy and Consulate of the Republic. I look forward to working with the interregional community to advance these goals for The League.

LDF-LED JOIN OP CLEANS UP THE NEIGHBORHOOD
Operation Order 55

Normally, when Genua is up to their antics, we simply "liberate," or more accurately, detag their singular laughable tag raid at the next update and move on with our lives. This time was a little different. Genua thought it was wise to have their raiders pose as four recruits/new members to The League by joining the region, endotarting with Leaguer natives a bit, and et cetera... Then, today, while the LDF was out with Libcord detagging and defending more than a single region taken by incompetent raiders, Genua made their move and took Islamic Empire, taking it in the name of their hateful ideology and practice.

Quebecshire and New Makasta didn't like this development one bit! So the time between updates was spent drawing some delegacy garbage-collection routes to mess with some fash, chosen from Genua's embassies and allies, of course. Alas, the up-and-coming collectors realized that some of their collections would need to happen too closely, bringing into question to their whole cleanup plan... but we're problem solvers, and we called up Andusre, United Calanworie, and Frenchy II to see if they had any spare trucks and fellow trashmen! Of course, our kind friends obliged and brought some bins to send the fash to...

All set up with a full updating staff of 20 throwing-fascism-into-the-bin enthusiasts on less than a 12 hours notice, we set off on their routes from the back of their trucks! First, we dunked Farkasfalka's delegacy into our plastic blue bin before splitting up into two divisions, Leaguers and Augustins to two places, Thaempirials and Lilyputans to two more, to make four more collections, rendezvousing again to wrap up collecting some rubbish that was quite unpleasant from Dixie together...

Funnily enough, Genua didn't even have a delegate at the time we moved in, so not much really changed for them. Also, our comrades in arms working from Libcord tonight mopped up Genua's mess in Islamic Empire, leaving the neighborhood pristine and clean all around!
