OTTO SCHMIDT LOSES GROUND IN ELECTION, FOLLOWING COUNTS IN BAVARIA, MUNICH
The Presidential candidate from the Great Trenaka Party predictably lost ground in the vote tallies from the more liberal regions of Munich and Bavaria. The current vote tally is close, with Schmidt having 6,827,494 votes, John Mederow, the Green Party candidate, having 5,576,977 votes, and Kurt Hahn, the incumbent President from the Trenakan People’s Party, having 6,395,120 votes.

The 3 regions remaining that haven’t been counted are Schleswig, Holstein, and Hamburg. Otto Schmidt is projected to lose in Hamburg, along with President Hahn, with John Mederow taking it by a projected landslide. In Schleswig, Otto Schmidt is projected to win by a large margin, while in Holstein, President Hahn is expected to win. All three Regions have a roughly equal population, and with the Presidential race so close, there is no projected winner for the whole race yet.

OTTO SCHMIDT PROJECTED TO WIN PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION, MEDEROW CONCEDES
MUNICH- According to the final vote tally assembled by the Federal Election Commission, Otto Schmidt has won the Presidential election, with a total of 8,487,563 votes. In second place was current President Kurt Hahn, with 7,521,926 votes, and in third came John Mederow, with 6,798,984 votes.

John Mederow, the Green Party candidate, has already delivered a concession speech, saying that he looked forward to serving the new government as an Admiral in the Navy, his previous profession before he became a presidential candidate. Current President Hahn, however, hasn’t conceded. He has requested a recount in Schleswig, Hamburg, Saarland, and Baden, which have been granted by the Federal Election Commission, however, the recounts are not thought to change the outcome, due to Schmidt having a lead of almost a million votes.

President-elect Schmidt has said that, in the interest of bipartisanship, he will keep some of President Hahn’s Cabinet members, due to their nonpartisan stance while serving. He said specifically that he will not replace Otto Müller, the Foreign Minister. He laid out his military spending plan, which would see the nation’s nuclear program expanded, the Army would be strengthened, and the Navy would get more research and development capabilities, as well as more ships. The Air Force would also get more research and development money, and newer planes. He said that on the day of his inauguration, he would reverse most of President Hahn’s Executive Mandates.

The date of the inauguration is Saturday, March 19.

DALMANNIA REACTS TO ELECTION IN TRENAKA

CLARSTADT— After the tallying of the presidential vote in Trenaka put Great Trenaka Party candidate Otto Schmidt nearly a million votes ahead of incumbent president Kurt Hahn, ICDN ally and nearby nation Dalmannia has exchanged mixed but overall optimistic reactions. While Prime Minister Johann Brennan has not officially congratulated Schmidt or acknowledged Hahn’s loss, he stated that he looks “forward to maintaining relations with Trenaka, regardless of who emerges as Trenaka’s executive leader” (National News Dalmannia).

Some members of the Dalmannian Progressive Party and the Dalmannian Federalist Party have made clear that they do not believe that the election is over until President Hahn gets his requested recount. On the other hand, members of Nationalist Party Dalmannia such as 2020 nominee Kathryn Woodhouse and Dalmannian Nationalist Party co-founder Widald Kessel were perhaps the very first figures on the international stage to congratulate President-elect Schmidt. Schmidt’s election and the success of the Great Trenaka Party has excited nationalists in Dalmannia, who believe that Trenakan achievements under Schmidt could inspire similar-minded movements in surrounding countries. Dalmannian nationalists, who compose roughly 17% of the electorate, hope that this recent outcome in Trenaka could light the way for the electoral comebacks of the NPD in Dalmannia, or RECHT in Imperium Germaniae in a few years when Dalmannian Centrist Johann Brennan and Social Democrat Sophia Hertz are due for elections.

The consensus on how recent events will affect the 2022 midterms and 2024 general elections is rather murky. Dalmannian involvement in the ICDN is viewed with mixed pride and cynicism, with roughly 71% of Dalmannians feeling supportive of Dalmannian involvement “through an international forum” to defend democracy abroad. However, a firm 86% of Dalmannians believe that “Dalmannia should not become involved in any more foreign interventions”, and view Dalmannian involvement in Ohkhos and South Africa negatively. Some voters even feel betrayed after Brennan campaigned on scaling back the military interventionism of the Wolter administration, seeing ICDN deployments as merely a more conniving continuation of what the military intervention in Ohkhos was. 86% of Dalmannians also believe that “too many Dalmannian lives have been spent in conflicts across the globe, with few lasting results to justify their sacrifice”. This viewpoint increased dramatically by approximately 30% since January after Brennan’s inauguration, with the quickest increase occurring after Dalmannian involvement in South Africa and the ICBM terror attacks which annihilated an entire village. With some petitions and protests mounting, Brennan and the Centrists are expected to see some reckoning come the next election. Whether opponents from the Nationalist or Progressive parties—who polled third and second in the 2020 election—can successfully take the current government to task in the next elections will become more clear in the months and years to come. All that is certain is that with the example of Otto Schmidt, Dalmannian Nationalists may have a clearer shot at claiming more offices in Clarstadt.

RECOUNT CONCLUDED IN BADEN, SAARLAND, SCHLESWIG: NO CHANGE; HAHN CONCEDES
MUNICH- The Federal Election Commission has concluded the recounts in the regions of Baden, Schleswig, and Saarland, with no changes made in vote numbers. Current President Hahn has conceded, acknowledging President-elect Schmidt's victory in the election.

President-elect Schmidt has proposed an improvement of relations with the more conservative nations of Romextly and Langenia, and has also endorsed a petition for a new Congressional election. Petitions for new elections must reach 200,000 signatures, then a national referendum is held on the issue. If a simple majority of voters vote Yes, then a new election is called. Currently, the Congress is controlled by a left-wing coalition, but it is evident that President-elect Schmidt wishes to change that.

NATIONAL REFERENDUM ON NEW CONGRESS ELECTION PASSES
As of 3:34 PM today, the National referendum to re-elect the Congress has passed, and the new election will occur on Thursday, one day before the Inauguration of President Otto Schmidt. The Right Opposition Coalition has long pushed for a new election, to try to gain the upper hand, while the Green-Left Coalition wishes to expand their current lead to a 2/3 majority, to be able to overrule vetoes from the new President.

Currently, most polls suggest that due to voter turnout not being good for the Presidential Election, more people will vote in the Congressional Election, and most of them will vote for the conservative parties of Congress.

Chen Shui Ban refuses to concede and escaped to Walvis Bay. The Taoiseach Elect polices includes Reunification with the UAC (which is becoming more difficult because of the cultural differences like TSWA being modern while the UAC is like Cuba and the fashion is stuck in the 1950s and drives 1950s-1960s cars and the Afrikaans used in the UAC is the Traditional one (OOC: just Dutch ) while TSWA uses Standardized Afrikaans

CONSERVATIVE PARTIES WIN MAJORITY IN CONGRESS; ELECTION COMMISSION RULES NO INTERFERENCE
MUNICH- As of 8:00 P.M. Trenakan time, the Congressional election has been called for the Conservatives, who have now rebranded themselves as the National Governing Coalition. President-elect Schmidt, who is set to take office at noon tomorrow, has congratulated the new Majority Leaders in Congress, and has expressed his support for the new coalition government. The new coalition, the 79th Trenakan Congress, will take office tomorrow at noon, at the same time as the President and Vice President, and will be sworn in by the new Vice President at 1:00 pm.

Meanwhile, the Federal Election Commission ruled that no interference was found in voting machines during both the Presidential and Congressional elections. This follows an inquiry made by current President Hahn, who lost the
Presidential election.

Increase of membership in RSP, as the RSP gains traction in Harzaa.

The reformist Socialist Party in Harzaa has recently gained a large amount of members in the past week. About 23,000 have joined the RSP, a record amount in Harzaa history. Several factors may be to be blame for this including what may be a misuse use of power by the current president and sultan, aggressive Islamic polices, and infringement on religious freedoms. The face of this movement, millionaire Ishan Chen, gives his views on what can be done to fix the government.
“The problem is that we have really what seems to be a feudal system. First you have the common people, (the peasants) then you have the military (the knights) you have the governors and politicians (the nobles), the president (the king), and finally the highest the Sultan (the Priest and religious leaders). Yes while this system is very Democratic, the sultan has the real control. While I am a very devout Muslim myself, church and state should be separate and apart from each other. Let people find their own salvation” says Mr. Chen.
Harzaa has also seen mass protests and sit ins near the Autonomous Islamic Center (which is where the Sultan lives and works, as where most religious activities are conducted) boycotting stores and businesses that support Azm Mohammad and the Sultan. Most of these protests have been Relatively peaceful, although the president and said otherwise on his Twitter account:
“They were not all peaceful, that is a lie. They were traitors trying to choke Business, trying to hurt our economy, and our people. This is not right and I will correct this ASAP.”
Azm said this afternoon on Twitter.
Malcom Luther, representative of Harzaa to ICDN has released a public statement reading quote “That rumors and stories of abuse, as radical and crazy they may be will be brought up to ICDN and the international community in order to insure transparency on behalf of the Harzaai government. A full investigation by other nations in ICDN and in the worldwide community will be called to decide if these claims have any validity. My office will bring this up at the ICDN assembly and other nations will be contacted as well. If any nation wants to help with this, please contact my office personally.”

2 Found Dead in Latest Killing

Early this morning, authorities in Uthia alerted the IGP(International Grammar Police) of the latest instance in a long spree of death. The victims were found inside a cubicle. No more info has been released to the press. This killing can probably be connected to the series of 'Cubicle Killings' happening abroad(due to the place where the bodies were found) despite the fact that the last of these killings was across the in Purnelaw. Again, the IGP has not confirmed this.

DALMANNIA BEGINS DOMESTIC ICDN RECRUITMENT CAMPAIGN, DISTRIBUTES POSTERS, AIRS TELEVISION ADS

In reaction to the prior growing discontent among the Dalmannian public over interventionist ICDN actions under the new Brennan Administration, Minister of Foreign Affairs Aleksandra Novak has resolved to keep Dalmannia’s direct military contributions to foreign conflicts “to an absolute minimum”, after weeks of clashing with Minister of Defense Timothy Thrahn. Prime Minister Brennan recently met with Novak, Thrahn, Envoy on Fiscal Austerity Heidi Schalke, ICDN Secretary General Büchler, ICDN Commander Victor Rasselkopf and several important members of Parliament to chart a more pacifist course ahead. While Dalmannia currently has the 501st Infantry Battalion dedicated to ICDN operations, the Dalmannian government intends to gradually replace this deployment from the national military with a purely volunteer force. Surplus Dalmannian arms are going to likely be sold to the ICDN to provide for the peacekeeping branch, and the 501st will return to measures of national defense.

The recruitment campaign inside Dalmannia involves images of international cooperation and unity, with commercial advertisements on the growing forum of nations in the General Assembly, and the need to maintain international peace. A poster of many flags of ICDN member states gloriously displayed before an image of the Maiden Liberty is increasingly popular, adorning street corners and other areas of high interest. A majority of the jobs recruited are not associated with combat, but rather office jobs and staffing necessities at ICDN buildings in Hamburg and training sites in Dalmannia. In its efforts to distance itself from conflict and the heavier costs of the ICDN upon the Dalmannian government, the Brennan Administration’s at-times shaky Centrist-Liberty-Progressive coalition hopes to hold together in the next year’s midterms and the national election for the Prime Minister’s office in 2024.

NEW GOVERNMENT SPENDING BILL PASSES CONGRESS, SIGNED BY PRESIDENT

Munich- At 6:30 last night, President Schmidt signed the new government spending bill created by Congress. This spending bill sees a dramatic reduction in social services to account for a reduction of taxes and an increase in military spending. With the new bill, the average citizen’s percentage of income for taxes is estimated to have dropped by 5%. Military spending has increased from 35 billion Marks to 42 billion Marks, and social spending has decreased from 52 billion Marks to 42 billion Marks. The remaining 3 billion Marks was put towards a reduction in income taxes on people who make less than 400,000 Marks.

Polls conducted by nonprofit organization Magnus Polling suggests that the bill has wide public support, with notable resistance from people who are members of the Trenakan People’s Party due to the reduction in social services. The bill was authored by 3 Representatives from the Great Trenaka Party, the Conservative Party, and the Taxpayer’s Party.

Immigration Minister causes stir
FYORDBYEN- The Immigration Minister is facing backlash after he said “those immigrants won’t even make it through the winter”. Many are taking this as challenge, which is now made official by the government’s Vinterchallengen, where the government opens the borders to anyone intrepid enough to try to make it through the harsh Nordish winter, after winter ends, if they have a stable job, a home and are alive and did not quit the challenge, they are rewarded with a green card for permanent residence. At press time, long lines of cars showed up at the border, with people who want to try their luck at the Vinterchallengen.

Arriving by all means, planes, trains, and automobiles, daring people are swarming into Nordeslund for Vinterchallengen although many are staying in the cities, a good portion of the newcomers are headed for the countryside, where the effects of winter will be felt the hardest. “They don’t know what they’re getting themselves into” says local fisherman Bjorn Christiansen, “in winter the snow gets up to 16 meters high, and the below zero temperatures are brutal, even for me, if that doesn’t send them running, the polar bears will freak them out”.
