She was homesick, and was able to transfer her residency to San Remo in a rare feat, even though it is usually pending very extenuating circumstances that such a transfer is allowed.

Upon completing her residency at San Remo General Medical Center, she knew she wanted to move on from there, but hadn’t quite settled on a specialty. She was leaning towards being a GP (General Practitioner), partly so she could go back to her small hometown of Badalucco, Liguria, Neu Engollon to practice there as she knows the main town doctor is nearing retirement.

She stumbled upon a hiring ad from Sunrise Tours on one of the medical community sites she frequents, and was certain that she could do that for a season while she firmed up her mind on the GP position back in Badalucco. She is open to becoming a nautical doctor though, if it really works out.

Brief Bio: Jack is nearing retirement but still loves his job, having first served as a salesman for Burgunden Breueries, and now working for Terembev, the giant multi-national, Neu Engollian based beverage conglomerate and distributor. On the face of it, he’s scouting out local brands for Terembev to acquire and/or distribute. He is also looking forward to the leisure and sightseeing opportunities as much as his wife, Helene.

He has been an agent for NESA for over 25 years, with the knowledge and subtle nod by his beverage corporate superiors to continue on in that capacity, as long as it doesn’t risk sales and marketing relationships with clients. He reports his passive observances of international travels to his NESA handlers and picks up a generous extra paycheck in exchange, enabling him and his wife to take such luxurious cruises and also pad their retirement fund. He has gone through a few NESA training courses on how to be an optimal professional at his side profession, including self defense. He keeps in excellent health for his age, but some minor health ailments have begun to catch up with him.

Brief Bio: Helene is aware of Jack’s primary sales networking goals, and also vaguely aware of his secondary activities, although she has found it better not to ask about them as he is always obfuscating and stubbornly vague about his NESA involvement, when she has grilled him in the past about it. Marital harmony is found when they just enjoy the moments they are in, appreciating the beauty around them.

Helene is able to set her own hours with Silver Line, giving them a heads up when she is available to do cold calling for the clients they contract to. She is not very forthcoming about the job, or that she enjoys it, as a lot of people have a very negative impression of telemarketers and it makes for awkward social conversations. Like her husband, she likes to keep in shape, doing pilates, light jogging, tennis, golf, and other activities with her friends and with Jack. She is also a bit of a philanthropist/activist in her spare time and works with various charities and progressive groups.

If Stryplynge had already lost the election you referred to, and was now a former president, maybe...Just maybe...That would require you to jump your political timeline a bit with these two, but it would also make more sense than clocking out mid-election to go to another planet. No. I was intentionally vague about cabin assignments for passengers, other than hoping no one booked a whole deck for themselves. That ain't happenin'...
But yeah, I didn't want to assign specific cabins so that everyone could work out for themselves who they wanted to be near, as far as other passengers. Also, I wasn't really looking to put in that extra effort to make a cabin/deck map for the ship. That's a lot of work I just don't have time for, on top of everything else.

Just a few tips for everyone that I may not have mentioned or you might have missed:

1. To pronounce the name of the country, it's like 'Bliss - And - yuh', then replace the 'B' with a 'G' and you have it.

2. The Lake is indeed a large inland sea, with its own weather patterns even, something akin to like half the Mediterranean or Black Sea, but of course, with a Nordic climate. So you were on the right track, AHSCA. The term 'Lake' can be misleading.

3. The temp started out rather cool, but will be hitting a hitting a high of around 21 Celsius (70 deg F) in the day, then dropping back down in the evening. So yeah, those on the boat will have to go from coat wearing to shorts and short sleeves, back to coats and sweaters near dinner. This is typical weather that Northern Tavlyrians on the Lake are used to in spring and even into summer.

4. Passengers boarded in the early afternoon, so they missed breakfast. There is a lunch buffet in the dining area which will be kept out for some time, but no bistro to order from. However, stopping a galley crew or steward will likely get you whatever specific request that your character might not see on the buffet tables, within reason - even breakfast food. Ask Cartoonia what's within reason, if you're in doubt. Dinner will be formal attire, with a quick speech or two from the Captain and another crew officer or two.

Reason for Trip: Officially? Relaxation, a calming of the nerves, and just general good times. Unofficially? To passively gather intel on the Grand Duchy and the potentially important occupants of the boat in general. Latszhi's looking forward to this mission, as it's really just an excuse to sit back and have fun, while reporting on anything that might be useful. Nothing untoward will happen, and he can just relax, right? ;)

Brief Bio: Latszhi was born in Retnfrask Hospital on February the 2nd, 1978. His parents had, during and after the Revolutionary War, sheltered a North Reinkalistani soldier for a few months until an opportunity arose for him to sneak back over the border. When evidence arose they were executed - while Latszhi was an infant - for their "collusion with imperialists" in the rabidly ideological, revolutionary phase of the new state. He was consigned to living in the state childcare service until he came of age, during which he was reported to have suffered much through his early life. However, his attitude towards the state grew fonder in his teenage years, when the 1991 Child Welfare Act was signed by the People's Congress. For once, Latszhi had access to various luxuries which made his life much more bearable. Upon the age of 18 he attended university, joined the Party, and soon became involved in the recently reconstituted "Executive Office for Ideological Affairs" by 2003. He had a noted proficiency with different languages. Having served in multiple missions and assignments, he has shown himself to be a capable and loyal operative. He is unmarried and has no children.
