Tax Cuts Bill Introduced in Congress

Image

Congress Majority Leader Hsu Ching-te (Kuomintang) introduced the "Tax Relief Act" bill in Congress. The bill will see those having an annual taxable income between 36,000 to 144,000 CNY getting their income tax lowered from 10% to 6%, those having an annual taxable income between 144,000 to 300,000 CNY getting their income tax reduced from 20% to 17% and those having an annual taxable income between 300,000 to 420,000 CNY getting their income tax lowered from 25% to 23%.

Despite concerns among some KMT Congressmen about the impact the bill would have on the budget, the majority of the KMT Caucus approved of the bill and so Leader Hsu Ching-te introduced it officially in Congress. "Kuomintang is the party that servers the interests of the working and middle classes," Mr. Ching-te stated. "Those tax cuts will boost consumption, circulating more money in the economy and creating new, well-paid jobs as businesses will see their profits increasing and will seek to expand their operations. Families will be able to afford more products. But, most importantly, this bill shall give the Chinese people a say on how to spend their hard-earned money, instead of granting that choice to government bureaucrats. We believe in freedom of choice; in the freedom of families to spend as they wish, after tax, their own money. Kuomintang is the party of the people, not the party of red tape and bureaucracy."

Shehuidang Blasts President, KMT on Tax Cuts

Image

Congress Minority Leader Han San-cheng (Shehuidang) attacked the proposed tax cuts. "Those extensive tax cuts serve a neoliberal ideological agenda," Mr. San-cheng stated. "They aim to starve our public sector of much needed revenue, in order to later on justify gutting social services in the name of fiscal discipline. The President wants to dismantle our welfare state, because he is seeking to serve the financial elites that want the Chinese people to be helpless before them. Shehuidang shall not allow this dangerous President and this extremist Kuomintang to destroy what we've built. We shall fight back, both with spirited opposition in Congress and with protests in the streets."

At the same time, though, Mr. San-cheng stated that his party shall vote in support of the tax reduction for those having an annual taxable income between 36,000 to 144,000 CNY. "We are a responsible opposition," Mr. San-cheng said, "and we will support moves that are in the right direction. While we shall oppose the majority of the bill, we shall be voting in favor of lowering the tax burden for the lowest income tax bracket."

Analysts state that Mr. San-cheng is trying to appeal both to centrist voters and the left wing, and that his dual rhetoric is an attempt to find a balance between the moderate and progressive wings of his party. They warn though that the contradictions of this double-pronged approach risk alienating both committed leftists and many centrists.

President Zhang Lianhong Vows to Make China a 'Start-Up Nation'

Image

President Zhang Lianhong, in a speech at the annual Beijing Economic Forum, stated that he aims to transform China into a 'start-up nation'. He announced tax credits worth up to US$5 billion a year for tech start-ups and an investment of US$1.5 billion into artificial intelligence research. "China needs to be at the forefront of the fourth industrial revolution," the President stated. "We need to be leaders in technology and artificial intelligence. We need corporations that can compete with Facebook, Amazon, Twitter. I believe that with the proper incentives, China can become a start-up nation."

Asked to respond on criticisms by the opposition, the President stated; "The left has been left behind. They are thinking in 20th century terms, when they should be thinking in 21st century terms. Artificial intelligence, high-tech corporations, start-ups; these are the future of China, not failed socialistic slogans of the past century."

Ministry of Defense opens tender for new Destroyer warships

The Indonesian Ministry of Defense officially opened the tender to purchase new Destroyer warships for the Indonesian Navy. According to a statement from the Ministry's spokesperson: "The growing unstable condition in Indonesia's border seas warrants the need for the Indonesian Navy to expand its fleet. We are committed to provide the best equipment for our servicemen and to provide total security for the citizens of our country."

However, the official tender statement mentions that the proposals participating in the tender need not necessarily be a conventional destroyer. "It should be taken into consideration the geography of the Indonesian Archipelago, which consisted of numerous islands with a wide range of size, as well as water channels in various width and traffic, into the selection of vessels included in the tender. According to the Ministry of Defense's survey and research, medium to small-sized vessels, which are highly maneuverable, are preferred. While these ships often came in various designations throughout the world, from the conventional/guided missile destroyers (as the case with the United States' Arleigh Burke, to frigates (as the case with the Italian-French FREMM), the Ministry of Defense makes no distinction, and would review all classes of ships that met the criteria as stated above."

An US$ 10.6 billion budget has been allocated for this project, the Ministry of Defense spokesperson stated, with a possibility of more funds allocated in the future. Recently the Ministry of Defense has also asked the People's Representative Council to allocate 'emergency funds" amounted to US$ 2 billion, with loan proposals from undisclosed sources. The Ministry of Defense officially invites all military shipbuilders of the world to submit their design for the tender, with the deadline set for submission being until August 31, 2024.

Largest Industrial Park in Indonesia open for sale

The 72,000 hectare estate spread around the regency of Deli Serdang, North Sumatra State, was officially opened for investors last week. The Tebing Tinggi Industrial Park encompasses land cleared from palm oil plantations and ricefields, now divided to a hundred and ten blocks for the construction of factories and warehouses. Current clients who already purchased several of the blocks, mostly Indonesian state-owned companies such as Industri Kereta Api (state-owned train manufacturer), Delta Djakarta (Jakarta municipal government-owned brewery), Indonesia Aluminum, Krakatau Steel (state-owned steel company), Antam (nickel smelter), as well as several other manufacturing corporations have begun testing factory operations, while others - still in construction work - is expected to open their doors as early as July.

This industrial park is one of the components of Indonesia's industrialization development project in Sumatra, which aimed to shift a large portion of the country's manufacturing sector from Java to Sumatra. Besides increasing Sumatran states' gross regional product from the industrial sector, the government also hopes that the program would help distribute the Javanese states' workload, which currently contributed more than half of Indonesia's industrial output.

With a short and efficient highway as well as rail connection to the Kuala Tanjung port, and the nearby Kuala Namu Airport, it is well-suited for storage and distribution since products manufactured in the industrial park can be transported into container ships for distribution worldwide in short time. The Indonesian Ministry of Trade has also made an announcement that it intends to direct Indonesia's exports and imports in Sumatra, including minerals (nickel and tin), natural gas, petroleum, and palm oil into the Kuala Tanjung port, instead of Singapore.

Indonesia-Africa Infrastructure Dialogue 2024 held in Bali

President Widodo opened the second Indonesia-Africa Infrastructure Dialogue at The Mulia Resort in Bali last week. Representatives and heads of states from fifty-three African countries were present in the forum; including Presidents Abdel Fattah el-Sisi of Egypt and Muhammadu Buhari of Nigeria. A continuation of the second IAID in 2021, the summit's agenda was primarily to establish free trade agreements between various African countries and Indonesia, as well as increasing Indonesian investments in African countries.

"We are confident that Indonesia and the African countries can together bolster cordial relationship and achieve stable and fast economic growth together," Mr Widodo said. "As developing regions with enormous potentials, it is in our shared interests that Indonesia, the larger Southeast Asia region, and the African countries cooperate together to further this goal."

Africa has been a region of great interest in Indonesia's foreign policy, particularly because it provides a great amount of natural resources to support Indonesia's manufacturing sectors. Two new milestones were reached in the forum; the first, a free trade agreement between Indonesia and Nigeria, which allows Indonesia to export a greater amount of manufactured goods, particularly electrical appliances and processed foodstuff - and a greater share allocation of Nigerian petroleum in Indonesia's oil imports. Indonesian state-owned construction company Adhi Karya was also awarded a contract to build a new Lagos-Port Harcourt expressway as part of Nigeria's infrastructure development plan.

Another favourable free trade agreement was also signed with Egypt, between Presidents Joko Widodo and Abdel Fattah el-Sisi. Indonesian exports to Egypt, in particular electrical appliances as well as plastic and metal products are set to be increased. In return, Indonesia now marks Egypt as one of its primary agricultural (mostly grain and fruits, such as olives) suppliers. The food manufacturing sector recently boomed in Indonesia, especially canned food and instant noodles, and Egypt is set to be one of the primary raw material suppliers for the industry. Additionally, at the end of the summit, Presidents Widodo and el-Sisi as well as the head of the Indonesian Ulema Council signed a declaration to "counter the influence of radicalism." Mr Widodo made a speech condemning religious radicalism and promoted harmony in inter-religious affairs, a move that is also agreed by his Egyptian counterpart.

Official Statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia

Regarding the escalation of tension between Japan and United Korea

The Indonesian government expressed its regrets that the tension between two of Indonesia's closest partners, the countries of Japan and United Korea, has developed increasingly tense in the past moments. As always, Indonesia urged the two countries to exercise restraint and resort to peaceful, diplomatic avenues to resolve all disputes between them; Indonesia stands ready to support all peaceful and diplomatic developments in the relations between the two countries.

The Indonesian Ministry of Defense, in light of recent developments, has announced that the straits and waterways of Indonesia hereby shall be closed to foreign military vessels (except for those belonging to the Association of South East Asian Nations member states, the Republic of China, the United States of America, Japan, and United Korea). All foreign governments and militaries are expected to respect the sovereignty of Indonesia in its territorial waters.

Prime Minister Stefan Lofven Gives Address to the Nation
Image

Prime Minister Stefan Lofven gave an address to the nation today, laying out his plans for the year.

"People of Sweden, I address you today to set out my goals for the year before us. I was elected to help you, the people of Sweden, to invest in our economy and you. My government has been hard at work investing in the economy and you, the people of Sweden. This year we will continue that process, I am working the Finance Minister and the rest of cabinet to work on a budget that we will present to you later this year. We will be focused on investing in our young innovators and entrepreneurs to make Sweden a hub of innovation. We will invest in clean technology and energy and we will push to make Sweden and the world an Eco-friendly place. We will fight hard to combat climate change and build a world iin which all of our children can live. Over the past few years we have seen old tensions and rivalries build up, we have seen conflict and harm. I hope we can build a world where all of our children can live, not fear but in harmony. I will work over the next year to build peace in the world in typical Swedish fashion, we will continue our legacy as the arbiters of peace, and we will build a world of peace."

Leader of the Opposition Responds to Lofven's Address to the Nation
Image

Leader of the Moderate Party and Leader of the Opposition Ulf Kristersson gave a response to the Prime Minister's address to the nation today in a Press Conference at the Riksdag.

"This government claims to to want to build a hub of innovation and entrepreneurship, while at the same time raising corporate taxes on corporations driving innovation and development. It just doesn't make sense to me, how making people pay more to innovate helps drive innovation. Under the previous government under Frederik Reinfeldt we cut corporate taxes and all taxes for all people, so that people had more to spend, to do what they liked to do, to innovate, to drive forward the economy. This government has done the opposite taking more of people's money, stopping innovation, slowing our economy, forcing our innovators abroad. This government will slow down the economy and we need to stop him. In terms of foreign policy this government won't stand up to Russia and their crony allies, those who seek destruction and dominance, under the Reinfeldt administration we joined our allies in NATO became closer to our European allies and took a hard stand against Russia, and this government won't do the same."

Prime Minister's Office Releases Statement in Reponse to Kristersson's Comments
Image

After Kristersson's press conference the Prime Minister's office released a statement saying:

"Unlike our predecessors, we will directly invest in our economy. We will directly support our innovators and entrepreneurs who have proven time and time again that they have the capacity to create, innovate, and dare, to make their world a better place. It is by supporting them, putting our faith in them, that is how we truly make Sweden a hub of innovation. We will also commit ourselves to building peace across the world, because that is truly how we make the world a better place. We have seen in places like the Middle East, when we try to topple regimes, it leaves the country in the same and sometimes worse position than they were before."

To: The Republic of Indonesia
From: US State Department

Following your nations announcement to seek a new tender to purchase new Destroyer warships the US would like the opportunity to deepen military co-operation between our nations by submitting the Arleigh Burke class for consideration. With recent developments in the Indo-Pacific region we see this as an important stepping stone for further Indonesian-American co-operation.

To: The Republic of Indonesia
From: Apex International

In partnership with the US State Department and the D.O.D Apex International would like to enter negotiations for the purchase of the Tebing Tinggi Industrial Park. Allowing the Indonesian government to have to deal with only one party in management of the industrial zone would allow maximum efficiency of the industrial facilities. If accepted we plan to invest heavily into the local infrastructure namely but not limited to Kuala Tanjung port, and the nearby Kuala Namu Airport. We look forward to being a good and honest partner to the Indonesian government and people.

In coordination with Department of Defense, with the Swedish government's permission, we would like to enter negotiations to build a naval and air base in the north of Gotland Island. With NATO assistance we seek to build this base up to be the largest in Northern Europe, with the ability to fuel and repair both Naval and Air assets. This will greatly increase the US, and by extensions NATO's ability to protect the security of Sweden and every member state along the Baltic sea.

Later that afternoon Minister of Defence Peter Hultqvist arrives in his office, Hultqvist recommends to take up the opportunity, but Lofven raises concerns about aggravating Russia, eventually they agree on a response to give to the State Department.

We would be willing to discuss the possibility of building a Military Base in the Baltic Sea. It is a priority for us and for all NATO allies along the Baltic Sea to defend against Russia, and we believe that this military base will extend our capabilities to defend against Russia and further the security of Northern Europe. But we would like to touch on more of the specifics, and would like to know how we will keep the project under wraps, as we cannot risk emboldening the Red Bear.

I'm sure you've been paying very close attention to recent developments since the Castro bombing. My people have suffered for the actions of one man, and as a devout and country loving Cuban, seeing this has brought much pain to my heart. I have decided for the good of the Cuban people to end their suffering once and for all. We ask that you aid us with air support as we liberate the country of this oppressive government. I will promise that after the coup, we will give power back to the people of Cuba and hold democratic elections. We do ask that you accept for the sake of freedom and democracy.

US Naval and Airforce assets stand by ready to assist. We request that your forces give us as much data as possible to insure accurate targeting to keep civilian casualties and collateral damage to an absolute minimum.

Our intelligence agencies Have been keeping a close eye on your activities, and will do everything we can. With your permission, we have assets in place to simultaneously take out a number of high level communist party officials as your coup is taking place to insure that the transfer of power is a bloodless as possible.

To: Us Department of Defense
From: Eduardo Nunez-Pelo

While your willingness to help is much appreciated, taking out government officials is not quite necessary for us. All we need is their capture so they can be tried at military tribunal for crimes against the Cuban people. Once they are found guilty, then we’ll let you take care of them.

As for the intel, there are numerous government buildings across Havana, mostly concentrated near the capital pavilion. Have your assets capture these oppressors and bring them to our military base in Havana.

After sending the message, the commander of the 1st Infantry Division messaged Eduardo’s radio.

“When will the order be sent?”

“As soon as support is confirmed. Remain on alert.”

After that, Eduardo waited for America to respond.

Turkish-Syrian Border
3rd Armored Division

Brigadier General Abdullah Galal is standing in the command hatch of one of Turkey's newly updated Leopard 2A6 looking across Turkey's newly redrawn border with Syria. He spots numerous armored vehicles that are apart of the Syrian military that remains loyal to Assad. He looks up into the sky and sees 6 Turkish F-16s firing anti radar missiles at the Syrian SAM sites protecting the area. Behind those F-16s came the 8 F-35A fighters dropping laser guided munitions on the Syrian armored vehicles. The 14 fighters hightailed it back across the border to safety before any Russian fighter came sniffing around.

Abdullah barked out orders to his SAM sub commanders to prepare for any Russian aircraft that in way threatening. He also orders the rest of his division to spread out and prepare for any Russian attack. The troopers of the 3rd Armored Division rush about following the orders of their commander. The Brigadier General had no way of knowing that their were Russian military advisers with those Syrians.

독도에서 24km | 24 Kilometers from the Dokdo Islands

Having driven off the Japanese, at least for now, the deployed boats returned to the nearest naval base for repairs, just as strike group 4 was coming in.

"About time." the captain of the Mulchongsae radioed to Commodore Lee of strike group 4. His ship had been heavily damaged, and they needed urgent repairs.

The strike group immediately sent small patrol boats to skim the waters, and the rest of the ships moved into defensive positions in Dokdo. Three transport vessels, not technically a part of strike group 4 but working with them, deployed 200 more troops onto the island. They began setting up machine gun, sniper, and rocket positions, as well as several 8-missile cannons, with replacement missiles. The aircraft carrier ROKS Pohang scrambled its jets, which took to the air, watching for Japanese vessels. They were not giving up Dokdo.

Message: President Monroe, Korea feels that it is in our interests, as well as that of America, China, and all other nations located in East Asia, that a peaceful solution to this ongoing conflict be reached before violence can begin. However, that cannot be achieved with Japan's aggressive behavior in the Dokdo Islands, which led to the shooting down of helicopters that resisted arrest after being warned repeatedly to leave Korean territory, and the violent and unacceptable Japanese attack on Korean vessels. Our sovereignty is at stake here, and so is stability in the region, which America, as well as Korea, greatly desires. Join us in our condemnation of Japan's behavior, and help us enact consequences. Prime Minister's Office
Tokyo, Japan
January 25, 2024

Prime Minister Abe sat in the Situation Room watching the live feed from drones and looking at images from Japanese satellites as Admiral Yamamura walked back in from a Navy briefing.

"Sir, we have received word that the Koreans have not launched a response to our last strike. They may be signalling to deescalate." Yamamura said.

Abe looked towards Deputy Prime Minister Aso. "What do you think?"

Aso stood. "We should have our special forces take the islands. It is absolutely unacceptable, with the losses sustained by the Coast Guard to not capture the islands. Our men are ready and just need your go ahead."

A navy captain walked into the room. "Sirs, we have detected 3 Korean military transports near the Takeshima. We have reason to believe that they plan to either resupply their guards there or deploy more troops."

Yamamura turned. "Sir, I advise you that we do not allow them to land reinforcements. Already their battle group in the area threatens our landing force. I suggest we immediately target their transports. They are in range of Korean naval ships, but if we concentrate another missile barrage then enough should make it through to destroy their transports before they make it to their positions. We should try to avoid sparking retaliation, but we cannot allow them to land forces on the Takeshima."

Abe nodded. "How about a mixed approach. Deploy Tomahawk missiles against the islands to destroy their port facilities making it impossible for them to disembark troops or equipment in a timely manner. In addition we can launch Type 12 missiles as the transports while deploying cheaper obsolete missiles against their fleet as a distraction."

Yamamura bowed. "I will see to it that is done sir."

Aso bowed in return. "I want the military services to prepare a wish list for the Diet. While so far this conflict is only several hours old, it may not end soon. In any case, we will need to replace our missile inventories that are being expended. Also I want a list compiled of all American private military companies that will be acceptable to request. You have permission to look into others, however none from nations that we aren't friendly with."

"Yes sir!"

January 25, 2024
4:30 PM

From the 10 destroyers of the Akagi Strike Group, 12 Tomahawk missiles blasted off from their tubes arcing across the sky towards the Korean dock facilities around the Takeshima. Already the ships had begun moving back to port in Niigata, moving to reload their anti-ship missiles while the air components of the carriers remained alert and ready to fight. From their VLS aboard the destroyers also launched 20 RIM-66 Standard surface-to-air missiles, using their secondary purpose as anti-ship missiles targeting the Korean fleet.

Yokota Air Base
4:30 PM

Two dozen F-2 and F-4 fighters had lifted off the runways, 22 armed with older Type 93 Air-to-Ship missiles. While still effective, these would serve as a distraction as the other 2 fighters would launch 4 AGM-158C LRASM stealth anti-ship missiles towards the cargo ships.

Within a matter of 30 minutes, the fighters had fired their missiles and begun returning home.

Within this period of time, a total of 80 missiles had been launched. 12 Tomahawk missiles raced to destroy Korean dock facilities on Takeshima, 16 RIM-66s and 30 Type 93s moved towards the Korean fleet, the majority targeting escorts, none at the carrier to avoid further provocation. 4 RIM-66s, 14 Type 93s, and 4 LRASM missiles sped towards the Korean transport ships aimed at destroying the advancing Korean force.

Statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the State of Japan

As the conflict continues, the State of Japan has been forced to respond to Korean provocation aimed at landing troops on the sacred Japanese territory of the Takeshima Islands. Further Korean invasion attempts on the islands will not be tolerated, and Japan reserves the right to strike back with offensive means if required.

The State of Japan urges the Korean and Russian side to appeal to peace by respecting Japanese sovereignty. The State of Japan further applauds the United States, Turkey, and Indonesia in appealing for peace. Now it rests on the shoulders of the Korean side to agree to hold talks.

Bundeskanzleramt, Berlin

Chancellor Bamberger sat down at one of the chairs in the meeting room after Monroe took his. In between them was a small table with tea and additives. The cameras and journalists had been left outside

“It is a pleasure to finally meet you Chancellor, thank you for meeting with me.” Leaning forward to grab his tea, before relaxing again and bringing it to his lips. “Let’s get down to the brass tacks of our meeting today, if that's alright with you?”

“Of course President.” Bamberger said, he leaned back in his chair, and thought about how he wanted to frame his question.

“In speaking of brass tacks, what was your provocation to sanction Cuban political leaders?” Bamberger asked. Monroe seemed to be a straight-up kind of man, and that was going to be how Bamberger treated him.

“Sanctions were enacted after severe protests against the regime, protests that were met only with brutality, thus leading to further sanctions. After the red line we drew earlier this week I have no doubt that the situation will be resolved soon.”

Bamberger listened carefully,

“And what actions will be taken on the part of the United States to resolve the situation?” He asked.

“We hope, as of this moment at least that our sanctions and public pressure will force government reform, tho as my ally I feel it is my duty to inform you that we have issued a warning the the communist government there that any further crackdown on there people that results in widespread casualties will be met with an American response and we have made preparations to that effect. Tho I hope it won’t come to that.”

Bamberger nodded. Awful forceful, but it would force Cuba to at least consider making some changes.

“And what of Korea and Japan? If I understand correctly the United States has close ties with both of those nations.”

“Yes we are, in fact we have been in rather secret talks with the two, among others of making a NATO inspired alliance in the Indo-Pacific region to counter Russian influence in the region. It breaks my heart to see two close allies fighting and we are doing everything we can to bring the conflict to a quick and peaceful end.” President Monroe took another drink of tea.

“This conflict does nothing but helps the communists, I feel like we have been fighting this war for generations at this point. But that leads me to the primary reasons while I came to Berlin, Chancellor. The US needs the EU, and the EU needs the US. We need to insure the maximum co-operation between these pillars of western civilization. Co-operation within NATO would be a great start, having these countries that are part of the EU but no NATO sign up, for the benefit of both organizations.Along with the deepening of our economic ties”

Bamberger nodded, taking his first sip of tea.

“I’ll bring it up in the next EU session, see if I can convince more nations to join NATO.” He said. Bamberger remembered the days when communists had half of Germany under their boot.

“Now, what about the Middle East? German efforts to rebuild infrastructure and improve quality of life in the region has seen some positive impact, but the fight is long from over. I’ve seen an increased call for isolationism in the United States, especially from the 16-24 demographic. I gather that you do not wish to become isolationist?

“Americans do not, I was elected on a platform of defending western civilization. My party in the US has held onto power for almost seventy years on that promise, Our military is the strongest it has ever been and only getting stronger, same with our economy and social structure. Ever since the P.E.R. with mexico we have thrived as a descendant of all european peoples, a continent we will forever be tied with militarily, economically and through kindred blood. I don’t know where you've seen this data but i'd get yourself a new data guy.”

Bamberger chuckled

“Maybe I should. Maybe I should.” He said, he took another sip of tea before continuing.

“In speaking of economic ties, you mentioned something about trade agreements while we were organizing this meeting?”

“Yes, I was hoping to discuss the possibility of a US-EU free trade agreement.”

“That is an interesting proposition, I cannot make that decision myself but I will certainly bring it before the EU and the Bundestag.” Bamberger replied. The US and EU were already very closely tied, and a free trade agreement would only strengthen that relationship. It would mean that the government wouldn’t receive as much in tariffs, but it was a worthwhile sacrifice.

“How are the efforts to bring Australia and New Zealand into NATO?” Bamberger asked

“Slow unfortunately, as NATO’s founding charter restricts itself to only european expansion. Something that I am desperately trying to change, as like the US, Australia and New Zealand are european countries that just are not in Europe geographically. I am hoping while I am here in Europe to take a side trip to Brussels to meet the General-Secretary. ”

“That is something that should be brought up, and how about Latin and South American nations? They were formerly European colonies, much like America or Australia. So it would be fitting to at least make an offer to them.”

“ That won't be necessary, as my administration's efforts within the O.A.S. The organization is close to adopting the Inter-American Treaty of Reciprocal Assistance otherwise known as the Rio pact as the official security doctrine for the western hemisphere. This along with our efforts with Turkey to create a middle-east and north african alliance and with China to create another in the Indo-Pacific region, with members in these four large security blocs we can then in the future build something completely new and global in scale.”

Bamberger raised an eyebrow. Decentralized to start, but it could definitely add up to something.

“Well that is a good alternative.” Bamberger glanced down at a notesheet on the table, it looked as if everything they had laid out prior to the meeting had been covered.

“So President Monroe, it appears we have discussed everything we laid out earlier. Is there anything else you want to bring up?”

“I cannot think of anything Mr. Chancellor. Thank you for your time.”

Bamberger smiled pleasantly.

“Of course Mr.President, it was my pleasure.” He said

Fallowing there meeting, the German chancellor and American President held a press conference discussing there meeting. Both Men commentated on how productive it was and stated they look forward to working with each other in the future. As news came out non-NATO member states of the EU, especially Ireland, Cyprus, Finland and Austria released statements on how their respective governments would adhere the EU's recommendation and would begin talks with NATO on integration.

Dear President Connor Monroe, I fully support a peaceful end to the conflict between Korea and Japan, so my fleet will withdraw from the Sea of Japan. But since Korea and Japan are your allies, it would be your responsibility to make sure that your allies don't fight each other (as it may hurt strategic relations). Also, I want to seriously talk with you about the stances of Korea and Japan respectively, since one of them started this conflict in the first place.

Dear President Fethullah Gülen, I have come to my senses that I want the Korean-Japanese conflict to end, so my fleet will withdraw from the Sea of Japan. I fully support a peaceful solution to the conflict, but might need a ceasefire with you in regards to Syria. I don't wish harm, but rather a solution to a territorial dispute in the Pacific.

Dear President Zhang Lianhong, my fleet has no interest in military intervention regarding the Liancourt Rocks, so it will retreat back to Vladivostok. However, there must be a peaceful end to the conflict surrounding it, so I fully support any effort to end the conflict through peaceful means. It may help end Japanese imperialism and prevent further territorial disputes.

Presidental Office-Executive Mansion-Cape Town-United Republic of Southern Africa

"I, President Payne, promise to uphold the constitution of the United Republic of Southern Africa. To faithfully execute and obey the laws of this sovereign state as proclaimed by the United Assembly and through the consent of the people of this great nation. To give my life in the service of this nation. I made this promise five years ago when I assumed the office of the President of South Africa. Now I continue to keep this promise. This morning, a terrorist attack once again attempted to destabilize our efforts to return peace in the Namibian occupation zone. Police forces in the area were attacked by Namibian milita members whom wish to end the occupation of the territory. Lesotho and Eswatini have successfully been brought into the fold. State level branches of the United Assembly now sit in the regional capitals and perform the business of the people in these areas. Now Namibia will hold her first elections in the occupied zone as a member state of the United Republic. Delegates elected to the United Assembly here in Cape Town shall also be joining us to give the voices of our brothers and sisters in the new territory. I thank all the hard work and efforts of the armed forces in the ongoing war with Botswana and the Namibian rebels. My heart goes out to the many men and women whom are on the frnt-lines keeping us safe. Our safety and the safety of this great nation rests on the shoulders of each and every one of you. To the families who have lost loved ones, you have paid the greatest sacrifice. One that we can never return the price you have paid. To honor these men and women, we shall have a candelight ceremony in Cape Town where the names of each soldiers shall be read out, and a candle lit in their honor. God bless the United Republic of Southern Africa. Thank you." President Jordan Payne sat behind the Hope Desk looking directly at the camera. The red light went off on the camera and the crewmen nodded. Jordan stood up and pulled his tie loose a bit, "I hope that works for you gentleman." He smiled as he walked past them and into the sitting room adjacent into the official office of the President. Two Generals the Prime Minister stood waiting for him. The Generals saluted and Payne returned the salute quickly, "Minister Clare, thank you for coming," he touched her hand gently and motioned to the couches. The Generals sat as well as the Prime Minister sat, "I will be honest and to the point Jordan, the United Assembly is feeling your admittance of the Namibian zone is a bit premature. We have yet to totally win the war there. Botswana has held you up so far." Jordan nodded, "I wanted to ask the Assembly to approve more funding and permission to enlarge the army again." Cayden Clare just looked at him, "Is this a request, or you going to do it even if we say no?" Jordan smiled, "Mad'am Prime Minister, I am lead by the hands of your Assembly." The Generals across the couch laughed, "We'd never act without the consent of the Assembly." Clare shook her head, "I will put a motion on the floor from the executive branch. See what happens. In the mean time, you need to deal with the Occupied Zone. We cant have rebel militas behind our troops line." Jordan nodded, "Thank you Minister. Dismissed." Cayden Clare rose and exited the sitting room. General Gabriella looked at the President, "The United Assembly forgets they are a formality." Jordan shrugged, "They have their uses. I forget them. But they do have them," He smiled afterwards, "And you all need to win the war in Namibia." Gabriella countered cooly and crisply, "Easier said than done. Especially when you hold the Capital Guard in reserve. The United Guard used as occupation troops. Allow me to activate the reserves and pour them into the fighting." Jordan shook his head, "I have promised Admiral Michael I will not. I am using our reserves for another purpose." General Lucas spoke up, "Admiral Michael gets to remain in port while our forces do the hard work. Sky Marshal Jarrods planes remain grounded while we slug it out." Jordan nodded, "The Sky Corp feels Namibia not having any more reported fighters that they need time to resupply and maintenance for a larger push against Botswana."

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! Three loud artillery shells fired from the large artillery batteries moving closer to the front-lines. "Major Howard," an aid shouted as he approached the artillery commander. "Forward command asks for immediate fire support in sector g-11!" The Major nodded, "Commence danger close support. HE and Smoke rounds." He turned back and looked with binoculars towards the distance. Rifle fire and mortars were heard ahead of them. medical trucks were carrying wounded back every now and then. BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! rattled the big guns behind him. "They will never learn," Major Howard commented as he turned back to the aide, "Lovely, Just lovely. We will be moving forward again. Save the HE rounds for the assault on Tsumeb. Once Tsumeb falls. The road into northern Namibia is ashored. Kamanjab will fall next." The aide, a young captain, "The URA is splitting in two in the drive to take both sides of Etosha. 1st Corp presses on Tsumen. 2nd Corp on Kamanjab. The best troops we have playing nanny across the rear." Howard shrugged, "Long as we keep moving forward. Tsumeb falls. Then we take the c44 and slam into Botswana through Tsumkwe. Open a new front. 2nd corp swings around and slams in between us and the third corp, press them in a noose."

"Contact forward!" Bullets fired in quick rapid succession. "Contact high!" Another voice shouted. "Contacts everywhere!" Shots rang out. Armored Recon Vehicles were rolling slowly forward and firing into the urban buildings ahead of them. 50 cal machine guns were firing heavily into the buildings. Infantry squads followed slowly. A Captain in an Olifant mk1B advancing behind the infantry fired a round into a building and watched it crumble even more. Heavy artillery rounds were pounding the city. "Sargent! Move your men forward and secure the intersection! We need to advance!" The Captain shouted pointing at the nearby buildings that were overlooking a bridge crossing pass the intersection. "I want machine gun squads laying down fire cover. Sharpshooters laying down fire support. A mortar crew behind the line were lobbing shells across the river into the entrenches forces of the Namibians.

Colonel Manchek behind the line watched from behind. Manchek watched and nodded, "Terrible shame for those lot. They should surrender already." He turned to his own aide, a lieutenant, "Order the artillery to provide fire support for the river crossing. And ask for the Sky Corp to dispatch a rotary wing to hop some men over the water. If we can get a foothold and secure an LZ, we can roll the Namibians aside and press for the coast. They will play catch up. We turn and hit em somewhere where we hold the defensive line and make them hit us."

==================================================================================================================================================================================================================
Namibian-URSA Front Lines
1st Corp (Republican Guard)~~~City of Tsumeb
Maj. General Suva sat in his jeep looking forward, "Beautiful. Absolutely beautiful." An armored column passed by as he brought the binoculars back to his eyes, "Tell Maj. Howard, I want artillery to begin firing on the east side of Tsumeb! Cover the advance." An aide nodded and repeated the orders over the radio. Along the front-line, the URSA infantry continued to press forward. The town had been shelled for days. St. Barbaras Church had become the temporary command for the 1st Corp. The Free Namibian forces had retreated to New Tsumeb cemetery and Muteka's Park. More were trying to escape along the c42 road towards Mangetti Dune, a small village east of Tsumkwe. The new Namibian position was relatively weak and barely able to call a position. Whatever command structure that the Namibians had was collapsing fast. URSA had succeeded in its goal of splitting Namibia in two. Now, they only need to crush this right-wing and then drive into Botswana.

Gen. Suva ducked as rifle fire hit the walls of the church as he moved from the jeep to the church. This fight was wrapping up, but his HQ was too close to the line. "Move a squad in to push those people," he shouted. A "Yes Sir," came and shouting outside the door of the church. "Shall we dig in," Captain Luna asked as the Gen stood again. Suva shook his head, "Order the armor forward. Drive hard on the main road and catch those rebels. Ask for the Sky Marshals to get off their ass and launch some fighters." Suva peered out the window from the church. A mortar crew was about 50ft from him and setting up a mortar. He nodded and turned back, "The war could be over in a few weeks."

2nd Corp (Paynes Legion)~~~River-Crossing Kamanjab
Col. Manchek stood on the west bank of the river looking over. The three bridges between both sides of the river were still standing. The Namibians were dug in well and had rebuffed all attempts to cross by the bridges. The armored humvees were stopped by RPGs and mortar fire. Any more attempts would see the bridges completely lost. An engineer unit could take weeks to get the corp moving again. The Sky Corp had lent them 15 Atlas Mk. II transport helicopters along with 4 Cessna 208B outfitted with dual machine gun turrets inside the cabin operated on each side. Four guns total (2 on each side) and five Denel Mk. I attack helicopters. Mancheks landing operation, now called Sparrows Leap, was preparing to begin. The Atlas choppers were fully loaded and ready to take off. 300 men, spread across the 15 choppers were waiting for the green light. The Cessnas circled out of range of any threats. Manchek looked out across the river. The Namibians were dug in hard. Sandbags lined the edge of the river. Observers with the sniper corp had reviewed the positions well. Mortars. Buildings along the riverfront were turned into pillboxes. Machine guns emplacements with vantage points for marksmen and other RPG teams. Mancheks aid, the Captain Degrass knelt behind their own sandbags and looked up at the Colonel, "Do we have green-light?" Manchek did three, slow, steady breathes as he reviewed them one last time. "Go," Manchek ordered, "Commence operation."

20 G6 SPA opened up a renewed assault on the eastern half of Kamanjab. The SPAs had their targets and a general area of the ordered fire. A 30-minute bombardment of HE and Shrapnel artillery rounds along with AP rounds into the builds to get into the ground floor of those buildings. Supported by the front mortar crews who would be firing smoke rounds onto the enemy positions across the front. Armor, Olifant Mk1B tanks, would act as mobile pillboxes on this side of the river. Moving along the riverfront to give direct fire to the infantry. 20 Rooikat and 50 Ratel IFV were prepared for a charge across Bridge Asrul (Bridge 1 closest to LZ) followed up by ten Olifant Mk1B tanks as Task Force Lowell and a company of infantry. 50 Ordnance QF 6-pounder from ww2, kept up by the South African army, were also serving as artillery positions. The front line had been strengthened as the logistics line came closer and more supplies were able to flow up the line. "Rain hell," the codeword for the beginning of the operation was given. The G6 guns began a blistering fire. The mortar crews began popping smoke across the river. The mk1Bs fired at targetted positions and then ceased after a quick 5 shot order. The four Cessenas came into postition and began making passes along the river firing down on the enemy line. The five denel Mks made a single pass hitting the river-edge before circling back to hang back before supporting the air leap,

The 15 Atlas choppers began 15 minutes later. They took off from behind the city and began their five-minute flight time to the LZ Amber. The artillery had slowly shifted away from the LZ. The smoke artillery shifted slowly as the choppers took off. TF Lowell prepared to move forward. As the choppers came overhead and went to land on buildings, the five denels swept around from their holding postition at the launch site to support the LZ. The cessenas also returned to a patrol around the LZ as the helicopters unloaded their platoons. Namibians who hadn't fled the frontal bombardment tried to resist and began to fire on the landing troopers. On Bridge Billy and Bridge Christ false advances were attempted by commanders as they kept the attention on the front rather than LZ Amber. Captain Margo stood on the top of one of the buildings and looked down at the scene unfolding before him. Across Bridge Asrul, TF Lowell was rolling across as snipers continued to pop off anyone popping out of cover to hit the TF. The smoke screen was slowly rolling towards Bridge Christ so the field of fire cleaned up for the URSA forces. Captain Margo radioed to Captain Luesic, "Sir, your men are clear to advance and engage. We are landed and beginning to sweep right towards Bridge Billy. Copy to Overlord, We are on the ground." Manchek listened at his HQ and took the headphones, "Overlord copies. Push on."

Presidental Palace-Cape Town, URSA
Five cameras flashed in quick succession. "Mr. President, with Namibia soon to fall, will the United Republic attempt to bring Namibia into the Republic?" Another reported stood up, "Does the URSA government feel it can justify these war claims to the United Nations?" Another rose, "Will the United Nations invade the URSA to free Namibia?" President Jordan smiled and looked down at the podium for a second, "Ladies and Gentleman. We celebrate the victory in Namibia as it means an end to the fighting. No one is more excited to see an end in the hostilities than me. With this end, reconstruction and development can begin. Not just for our new territory, but for the heartland. South Africa, Lesotho, and Swaziland are ready for a new start. A greater start. To begin, to tie Namibia into this great nation, we must first intertwine them together. So we will begin by repairing the railroad lines into Namibia. Finish any lines needed constructing and begin processing the people of Namibia into the URSA. To tie these people in, we can't look at them as a conquered people. We are now equaled with Namibia. We can not allow the idea of 'us' versus 'them' to take hold. Our nation is one. We have gained almost two and a half million citizens. We will do all we can for them. For this nation. For you."

Cape Town was in the process of being remade. The city had been torn down, district by district. Now it was slowly rising from the ashes. The United Assembly building was finally complete. The Presidents mansion was moving from Mahlamba Ndlopfu (Executive Mansion) to the Presidents Residence in Cape Town, a five-acre lot in the center of Cape Town that front gate was directly across from the United Assembly building along the Government Plaza. On each side of the plaza was the government Minitries buildings. Various agencies were then spread around the central ministry they were apart of. Around them was another large garden on all sides. Then a large fence around the government plaza. Mansions around the fence formed another garden paradise around the central offices. Around them was the skyscrapers and other power brokers of the URSA.

Dear President Jordan Payne, my government will recognize your country. We will supply you with development and investment. We are also interested in a dialogue with you. But I am concerned with you being at war with your neighbors, so I hope it doesn't escalate (as my country was recently embroiled in a conflict between Japan and Korea). Anyway, I will see you soon.
