Right, but my problem with that is that 1. as you said, the Lutheran Bible is not necessarily correct and 2. I've been told the Hebrew uses the word zakar which means man and not boy

The big problem with this theory is that afaik the word used in the oldest Greek versions of the New Testament is the same word used in the Greek version of the Hebrew bible for homosexuality.

I don't know. I have read some say that it is a choice and some say it is by birth. Maybe it is different for different people. So it might be partially a trend because things that were once frowned upon are now cool sometimes. That seems to be especially true in the West from what I have heard.

Here it was once considered bad for men to wear shorts or to dye your hair, but now more people do it because it is considered cool now.

Comparing wearing shorts or dying your hair as a man to being gay is a really horrible comparison to make. It's not a choice, never has been, and never will be. Can you choose to be gay now? Or any other sexuality? Can you make that choice right here and now "I am attracted to men/women"? I'll tell you the answer, you can't. You can't pick and choose your attraction as if it were a fashion item, because it's not. And whoever says that you can choose your sexual orientation is wrong, period. Only people with a religious or conservative agenda or motivation will keep up the lie that you can choose to be straight, gay or any other sexual orientation. Why? Because then they can justify to themselves that those people made a bad choice that they can judge. They don't want to see sexual orientation as something that someone is born with, because then they can no longer discriminate against those people. After all, how can you discriminate someone for something they are born with? It's a selfish ploy to justify discrimination by conservatives/religious folk.

I's very sad that, for so many centuries, people were too afraid to admit (even to themselves) they weren't straight. So many people suffering, living in deny or self-deceit, because of bigotry and intolerance. Good that things are finally improving, even if there is still lots to do.

Trans people yes but the polling is pretty clear that opposition to LGB people has largely dissipated to a minority viewpoint, it has no real traction anymore.

To be fair "gay pride" is a little strange. Like for comparison, when someone says "yeeeah brown pride" in reference to hispanics, I'm just like "but I'm not proud of being hispanic. I'm not ashamed of it, nor am I proud. This doesn't make me better than other people. I didn't work for this either." I think people should be proud of themselves about things they worked to accomplish. Being born a certain way isn't something to be proud or ashamed of cause you didn't choose to be that way. No one works to be gay. You don't go rocky balboa, waking up in the morning and drinking a glass of eggs and jogging up the steps just to be gay. You don't spend hours learning how to be gay. You just are. We need gay acceptance, not gay pride. Acceptance is when you take people as they are and don't put them down. Pride is when you wear it on your sleeve and shove it in people's faces and act like you're special for it.

Well, "don't rub it in my face" can be interpreted as it's own type of diet-homophobia.

I can say I went on a date with the opposite sex casually to a friend, and it's normal.
But if I say I went on a date with the same sex, somehow it's inherently sexual and inappropriate to people.
I can kiss someone of the opposite sex I'm in a relationship with, and it's normal.
If I kiss someone of the same sex, it's sexual and inappropriate.

This in itself shows a bias towards same-sex couples. While "don't rub it in my face" sounds reasonable at first, in practice it's often less "don't be obnoxious," and more "don't be gay in my presence."
