how do you take over other nations if you can and how do you make your country bigger/smaller?

Roleplay in your region.There is no official way to do it

You can't take over other nations. (though you can have a look at the roleplay forums to see about roleplaying it, we also have roleplay mentors who can help you), otherwise there's taking over regions, which is explained in the FAQ under military gameplay

Your nation just grows on it's own over time.
