Occupation of Sharifistan (Closed and Over)

On March 1, 2021 bombs were detonated in the capital of the Sultanate of Sharifistan, Madinat al-Islam. Specifically, all the government buildings of Sharifistan that held this institution of the country. The Sharifistani government had just returned from exile in Portstone, Baydor. Too early. It did not escape the bombs, and now almost all of the Sharifistani government has been wiped out, leaving the country completely leaderless. Now, this opens up the path for occupation from foreign powers. Already, rumors are that Langenian forces are already in Sharifistan taking control of areas known to be rich in natural resources, including oil.

OOC: The idea is that the country will be occupied into the following zones, Langenia, Romextly, Insaanistan and the Sharifistani coalition (including Kazakah and Hopal), NA and Communist Sharifistan, and Madrinpoor and RRS.

Nura was now angry as ever. Silently, she vowed to kill the leaders of Lazarus Rise herself. Insaani troops were already all over Sharifistan and were ordered to quickly take over government buildings, villages, police stations and military bases. They also were ordered not to engage Langenian troops unless they attacked them first. The last thing she wanted to was to fight Nic and Diego’s country, too.

Parachuting into Sharifistan from transport planes are Langenian forces, operating from bases in Insaanistan, the Mediterranean island nation of Lengen, and the Persian Gulf nation of Assir. Moving quickly to secure air bases, these bases are used for transport planes to bring in more troops and equipment into the country. On the Sharifistani coast marines are landing to advance into the country, adding to the fray. The Langenian troops are currently in areas known to be rich in natural resources including oil, and have orders to fire if attacked. Sharifistani troops are disarmed and inform of the new Langenian administration and all its benefits. This can be called comparable to the 2014 Russian annexation of Crimea.

The Insaanis hold Amasya, Sinop, Çorum, and Samsun, as these had some of the highest troop concentrations. Soldiers who had settled in Sharifistan are ordered back to duty. Nura is determined to conquer as much land as possible.

Knowing the Sharifistani populace thinks well of her, Nura herself writes encouraging Sharifistani troops to declare themselves part of Insaanistan, thus not allowing Langenian troops to disarm them without having to answer to Insaanistan.

Utilizing the fact Insaani troops are dispersed throughout the country, the fact the Sultana is technically the heir to the Sharifistani throne, and the fact that Insaanistan is a Muslim country, the Insaanistan quickly occupy much of the land, and Sharifistani soldiers begin telling the Langenians who have come to occupy they cannot occupy Insaani land.
Though still allies, Langenia and Insaanistan race to occupy as much land as possible. Langenia is still seeing successes, as some Sharifistani troops prefer them to Insaanistan. Insaani troops spread the news to Sharifistani troops around the nation, who radio to other troops the option to join Insaanistan, and urge them to decide to do so quickly unless they would rather be under the rule of non-Pashtun non-Turkic Catholics. Most of the Sharifistani troops quickly raise the Insaani flag over key buildings.

Nura writes an outline of an oil deal with Kazakah and sends it to their king. She publicizes the deal, hoping Langenia might be enticed to give up the land if it knew its close ally Insaanistan was more than willing to sell the oil at a good price.

Having bought out Sharifistani businesses in the hurried frenzy the day before, the company soldiers are there to act as a security force on many of the prime oil fields and keep them from unfriendly hands. In Kazakah, VP of Procurement, Danil Vellorn, prepares to write a letter to the (in)famous Sultana Nura of Insaanistan.

The Romextlian approach thoroughly impressed Nura. Now that they had joined in, she ordered her troops to not fire at them either.
However, she also immediately offered any Sharifistani province that joined Insaanistan representation in Insaanistan’s parliament, as a measure to counter the offer made the Romextlians. Not only would they be under a Muslim state, they would be represented. Heck, the Sultana of said state shared a language and culture with them.

She knew her own people well enough to know they would sympathize with her on this matter: the discussion of a state would involve her, and yet her nation was excluded. Were it a matter of individual people and not nations, many Sharifistanis would kill someone for that. More Sharifistani troops declare themselves Insaanis, as Nura promises they will be allowed their own governor, and that the title of the province in English will be “the Autonomous Province of Sharifistan”.

Romextly responded with their unwillingness to recognize Italian independence and as such seems unfriendly to new nations. They then stated that Insaanistan was not meant to be offended as it was to help move forward an Italian state instead of a nation.

IC: Shockwaves shoot through command in Madrinpoor and the RRS. "This is our chance!" Martredi yells in a meeting with Nefes, and on July 1st (current date I guess cause a little while ago was june 10), 2021, the RRS declared itself fully independent. Parades erupt and RRS flags are waved, and Nefes becomes the new president. The Madri troops immediately prepare for war, because they have all been there ("I told you!" Martredi yells to Dorestovits). They propose a treaty with Communist Sharifistan, to protect from other forces. The Republican Army (of the RRS) mobilizes in part to protect, but also along the northern border, for a potential expansion of territory in this time of opportunity and crisis. Also, messages are sent to Romextly, to help with the RRS's expansion (they are democratic and relatively libertarian. And they can elect a libertarian president anyway.)
