OAZ "FERRET" ARMOURED GENERAL PURPOSE VEHICLE

Image

OVERVIEW

Stuck with a mess of foreign-made cars that were ticking through their service lives and with the added requirement of better protection, a tender was placed for a replacement vehicle. Given in the 2000's the complaints of the American-made Humvee protection kits were beginning to be known, the tender was modified so that the vehicles had to be well-protected from most considered threats, while remaining light enough that it did not require a specialised engine. OAZ won the contract in 2007 with it's prototype, adopted into service as the M-09 "Ferret" General Purpose Vehicle.

The Ferret is a lightweight, reliable and versatile general purpose vehicle, intended primarily for transport of personnel and for light patrols where heavy weaponry is not utilised by a prospective ambusher. The Ferret is mine-protected, shown in instances during the Spring War where the vehicle's suspension was blasted off but the vehicle remained intact and the crew relatively uninjured. It uses a commercial Inline-6 turbocharged engine which is common to many OAZ civilian cars, with an enhanced transmission to ensure that there are no unexpected breakdowns. Mounts for armaments are provided by a cupola and a pintle mount above the middle rear seat.

M-10C "Hussar" Wheeled Infantry Fighting Vehicle

Postby Lauzanne » Sun Feb 21, 2021 11:25 am

M-10C "HUSSAR" WHEELED INFANTRY FIGHTING VEHICLE

Image

OVERVIEW

Logistics in the modern battlefield is king. A vehicle without spare parts is useless in combat, and factories cannot split their production too much for fear of congesting supply lines. Lauzanne had to take all of this into account when modernising, seeing as they couldn't rely on Eastern sources anymore due to tense relations, but at the same time no Western country offered a truly universal chassis. As part of the modernisation, plans were drawn for the Army to be based around as few common chassis as possible: A tank/heavy combat vehicle chassis, a wheeled vehicle chassis for lighter mechanised units, a tracked chassis for mechanised infantry to support armour, and later an airborne-specific chassis for the Independent Airborne Brigade usage. Tenders were placed, with the requirement of sharing as many components as possible between the three AFV types and the armour. The W-Chassis was the first to be adopted, replacing old Soviet-era BTR's, OT-65's and BRDMs among others with a modern indigenous design built by the relatively new Schovajsa Heavy Industry.

The principle combat vehicle of the M-10 chassis family, the M-10C "Hussar" is the standard wheeled IFV of the entire Armiye Terestri. Used by the 23rd and 12th Light Mechanized Brigades, they saw use throughout the whole war. Their main advantages over the M-11C is a lower weight, higher speed and cheaper cost, while being less protected. In Lauzannean doctrine, these vehicles fulfil a more mobile force, complementing the lighter infantry and the heavier tracked mechanized units.

Like many of it's ilk, the Hussar is laid out rather conventionally. Left hand driver's position, right side has the engine, middle has the turret and the rest is for passengers. Both versions have a two-man turret, with the position changing depending on turret. The standard Hussar has the same two-man turret as the Ulan IFV, with identical armaments and systems. The Hussar-E lowers the crew into the hull, with the turret being self-contained and sporting the same 30mm cannon, GPMG and twin missile tubes.

With a crew of three and seating for 8 personnel in the rear, the Hussar is well-suited to modern mechanised infantry squad sizes, and protects them from light autocannon fire, IEDs and mines, and can be fitted with cage armour to protect from shaped charge attack.

M-86AM MBT

Postby Lauzanne » Sun Feb 21, 2021 12:16 pm

M-86AM MAIN BATTLE TANK

Image

OVERVIEW

The M-86AM MBT can trace it's conception back to two main vehicles: The abortive M-86 of the 80's era (cancelled with the beginning of the Refusal War), and the Yugoslavian M-90 Vihor that was also cancelled for similar reasons. Faced with both old export-model T-72 and M-84 tanks, along with the captured T-64, T-72B, T-80 and T-80U models from the Refusal War, the government quickly contracted Torun Machine Plant to restart the M-86 program, aided by technical details gleaned from the abortive M-90 along with the new Soviet technology vehicles presented to them. In 1996, the first example rolled off the factory line, getting adopted afterwards as the M-86A.

Faced with advancing technology and the now-lacking protection of the M-86A, the M-86B was being drawn up, and with it some refinements were added to the M-86A to prolong it's life in LDF service. Such refinements include an improved thermal sight, along with an improved fire-control computer, battle management system and a commander's independent thermal sight. Slight improvements to the Kontakt-5 ERA was made as well, but the biggest change was the addition of the Shtora-1L system sans the IR floodlights, incorporating a working soft-kill APS and laser warning receiver system to the tank. Although small, these improvements vastly increased it's effectiveness in the field, allowing for the M-86AM to serve well until it's eventual replacement by the M-86B, slated for 2023.

the M-86AM is a third-generation Main Battle Tank, developed very in line with Soviet tank design style and sharing many components with them. Equipped with a PO1-T02L "Agave-M" thermal sight, as well as the locally produced 2A46L-3, capable of firing the 3BM46 "Svinets" projectile, as well as the indigenously-developed TM-2 "King Kobra" missile allow the M-86AM to engage targets out to ranges of 5km reliably and accurately. Another improvement is being fitted with the V-46TK1L, capable of 1200hp under normal conditions allows it to have superior manoeuvrability compared to it's T-72 and T-80 counterparts. ERA coverage on the front of the turret was also improved over the T-80U, allowing for a high-reliability, fuel efficient and effective MBT.

NOTE: Due to export customer's tastes, options are available for this vehicle. Base price is 3.8 million per unit, but it can be added to with:
V-46TK2 1,300 hp turbo diesel engine, for an extra $100,000 NSD
Fitting Shtora-1L soft-kill IR floodlights to the tank for an extra $100,000
Fitting of the 2A46L-3M improved gun, able to fire improved ammunition from the M-86B. Comes with improved fire control system, $300,000 NSD.

SPECS

Name: M-86AM
Mass: 47.4 tons
Length: 9.35m
Width: 3.42m
Height: 2.5m

Engine: V-46TK1L, 38.8 litre V12 multi-fuel turbo-diesel, 1,200hp
Power/Weight: 25.3 hp/ton
Top Speed: 72 km/h (on road)
45 km/h (off road)
Transmission: TMP-AT, 7 speed automatic transmission
Suspension: Torsion bar
Range: 720km, 780 km with external fuel tanks

Protection: Composite armour front, additional ERA Kontakt-5, Kontakt-1 on turret roof.
Armament: 2A46L-3 autoloading 125mm with 48 rounds. TM-2 "King Kobra" 6 missiles.
Coaxial 8mm "Raikka" GPMG, Pintle-mount 8mm GPMG "Raikka" OR 12.7mm HMG NSV OR 14/20mm HMG-14B
the TM-2 "King Kobra" is an indigenous development of both the 9K112 "Kobra" and the 9M119 "Svir" gun-launched ATGM's. The TM-2 comes in two versions: the TM-2H Tandem-charge HEAT, and the TM-2E High Explosive/Thermobaric version, intended for soft targets and low flying aircraft/helicopters. Both have two pieces: a common booster section, and the warhead. Both missiles are laser guided from the tank, and can fire in two modes: Direct and Low-Observability. In direct mode, the missile is fired from the gun three degrees above horizontal to minimise dust obscuring the gunner's vision, but otherwise heads directly towards the indicated target. Low-Observability fire differs in that the laser is only brought onto the target during the last two seconds of it's flight, minimising chance of detection by hostile LWS and the chance for soft-kill systems and vehicle crews to react. Range is 5,500m, penetration is 950mm RHAe.

M-86B "Vihor II" MBT

Postby Lauzanne » Mon Feb 22, 2021 2:53 am

M-86B "VIHOR II" MAIN BATTLE TANK

Image

OVERVIEW

Not satisfied with just the M-86AM being 'good enough', in 2010 development started on the M-86B. Headed by Torun Machine Plant, but also taking components from Orel Automotive Factory (OAZ), Akulov Dynamics, Cerny Optical, and Blanchard Manufacturing, the M-86B is the premier tank utilised by the LDF and now available for sale to you.

The M-86B utilises a brand new welded turret, supplemented by the new Drakon ERA Which allows for multiple layers of ERA, as well as minimised damage to surrounding modules, giving the M-86B a massive boost in survivability. Third generation gunner and commander thermal sights coupled with the "Helianthus" computerised fire control system provides unprecedented night fighting capabilities and accuracy, and use of the upgraded Shtora-1L system allows for jamming of SACLOS and various optically guided missiles, as well as detection of laser rangefinding equipment being pointed at the tank. The new V-46TK2 engine keeps up with the added weight, pushing out 1,300hp reliably and efficiently.

The all-new 2A46L-3M gun has both a lengthened breech and barrel, allowing for brand-new APFSDS projectiles to be utilised. In addition to all-new HEAT, Multi-Purpose ammunition and even newer GLATGM's are being developed. In addition, a RCWS has been fitted for the commander's use and mated to both the fire-control system and the Shtora-1L system, allowing for new modes: Semi-automatic fire, automatic fire, RCWS slew. This allows tank commanders more flexibility when being engaged by ATGM crews, as it allows the attached machinegun to automatically engage such positions to suppress them.

In summary, the M-86B is a well-rounded and modern MBT, with excellent protection and firepower, with good mobility to get you where you need to go and fight efficiently. It's excellently protected, and future-proofed.

SPECS

"Cyclops" RCWS, able to mount 8mm GPMG OR 14/20mm HMG-14B
With a new FCS and improved gun, the new 2A46L-3M has newly-developed munitions for use in all combat situations.

KPL-3U “Auger-1” and KPL-3T "Auger-2": Lengthened APFSDS projectiles with a sacrificial steel tip and multi-piece core. Main difference is the Auger-1 is depleted uranium, Auger-2 is Tungsten Carbide. Steel tip allows superior penetration against ERA. Penetration of Auger-1 is 950mm RHAe, Auger 2 is 900mm RHAe at 2km.

SCL-2T "Boron-T": Tandem-charge HEAT projectile with 850mm penetration after ERA.

MPL-1 “Hedgehog”: Multi-purpose projectile. Capable of penetration and destruction of light armoured vehicles, point detonation and airburst detonation when mated to the Helianthus FCS. Use of airburst munitions greatly increases lethality against targets in cover.

The Shtora-1L is a modification on the original Shtora-1 sofft-kill APS developed in the Soviet Union and later the Russian Federation. After learning of it's workings, the modulation and frequency band was broadened, and the laser warning receivers (LR-1S precision sensors and LR-2W wide-receivers) allowed for a greater range in frequency detection and precision of angle. In addition, the smoke grenade system was re-worked to allow for more smoke grenades as well as uses of the system, along with new aerosols to disrupt most modern line-of-sight and laser guided missiles. Shtora-1L operates in automatic and semi-automatic modes, with the option to slew either the turret or the commander’s RWS at the target in either mode to better engage the source of the laser.

M-19 "Krokodil" Heavy IFV

Postby Lauzanne » Mon Feb 22, 2021 3:34 am

M-19 KROKODIL HEAVY IFV

Image

OVERVIEW

Faced with the threat of larger and more widespread anti-tank weaponry, Torun Machine Plant started the "Krokodil" IFV venture, aiming to create a heavy IFV with a common chassis to the M-86 MBT series. Starting development parallel to the M-86B, the Krokodil was unveiled alongside the M-86B. Adopted in a limited fashion as the M-19 HIFV in the LDF, a handful are present and served in the Spring War admirably, surviving damage that would have incapacitated or destroyed Ulan or Hussar IFV's in combat.

Equipped with tank-level protection and the same V-46TK1L engine as the M-86AM gives commonality of parts between the two, easing logistics. A thickly-armoured body protects the squad inside to be safe from all but the largest of anti-tank weapons in use, and second-generation thermal sights allow for accurate fire at night time, with either the AC-30 30mm automatic cannon or the dual Contender ATGM launchers.

For protection, use of the newer Corundum and Basalt composite armours alongside Drakon ERA, allowing a high degree of survivability. For protection from guided munitions and laser rangefinders, the Shtora-1L system is employed, with modified IR dazzlers to fit the smaller turret.

M-11C "Ulan" Tracked Infantry Combat Vehicle

Postby Lauzanne » Mon Feb 22, 2021 6:16 am

M-11C "ULAN" TRACKED INFANTRY COMBAT VEHICLE

Image

OVERVIEW

Alongside the W-Chassis, the T-Chassis was constructed to be used by LDF Heavy Mechanized Battalions and larger brigade elements. Lauzanne had experience with both the BVP M-80 and BMP-2 IFV's, and although Lauzanne liked the M-80, the collapse of the Yugoslav state killed any chance of indigenous production or ordering from the war-torn country. Thus, the option was taken to carry out the contract internally. Requirements listed that a Brigade size element could reliably use the same chassis, same engine and as many similar components as possible. Torun Machine Plant won the contract in 2011, and production has continued to this day.

Unlike the W-Chassis, the T-Chassis uses a single common chassis, all variants have five evenly spaced roadwheels and the same LTD6-16 16L inline-6 engine. However, they do both share a common set of features, with only minor differences between some (the reconnaissance vehicle mounting an additional LRS-2 "Bat" radar system, as an example). Otherwise, they share armaments, turrets and even roof hatches. Commonality of engines apart from displacement allows for a common head, turbocharger and other systems to be utilised, streamlining logistics even further, and the compact form-factor of the engines ensures excellent internal space.

The Ulan Infantry Combat Vehicle was the principle variant of the T-Chassis family, and arguably the most common one in service with over 400 units on inventory. Doctrine for the LDF called for a single squad to be carried inside a single transport. Engineers re-designed the interior and moved the turret forwards, deleting the commonplace second hatch and allowing for a passenger bay that can house 8 fully equipped soldiers. A welded 2-man turret was also used, increasing the turret's interior space and allowing for larger armaments in future.

The entire crew and fighting compartment has a spall liner, and is frontally protected from 30mm autocannon fire. The gunner and commander have 2nd generation thermal sights, and both have the capability to launch and direct Contender ATGM'sto targets. the 30mm 2A42L is stabilised in both axes, and capable of engaging targets out to 2,500m accurately, or area targets at 4,500m. The Contender missiles can engage armoured vehicles effectively out to 6,000m range.

The crew and passengers are protected from mine blasts and penetrations by a spall liner and seats with separation from the hull floor. Entry and exit can be carried out via the three crew hatches in the hull or turret, or the rear door and hydraulically-actuated hatch.

A-Chassis Airborne Combat Vehicle Family

Postby Lauzanne » Mon Feb 22, 2021 7:14 am

A-CHASSIS AIRBORNE COMBAT VEHICLE FAMILY

Image

OVERVIEW

Inheriting BMD's of all three kinds from the Soviet days and the LPA invaders in the Refusal War, despite their compact size, ability to be air dropped and capability to mechanise airborne forces that have historically been confined to light infantry only, allowing the Independent Airborne Brigade more firepower and autonomy if they were to ever deploy overseas. Torun Machine Plant won the contract, in part due to sharing so many components with the T-Chassis vehicles, and some were made and delivered to the 51st Airborne Battalion.

Constructed out of aluminium to keep the weight down, the A-Chassis vehicles can be delivered from the Il-76 and An-22 transport aircraft via parachuted pallet, dropped alongside crew and passengers. It utilises the 450hp LTD-8 8L inline-6 turbo diesel, and otherwise has all of the same components as it's larger tracked brethren.

The Dormouse IFV and Packrat APC fulfil the bulk of infantry carrying, although every version does have space in the rear for infantry to sit. The Dormouse carries 6 plus a crew of three, the Packrat carries 10 plus a crew of two, although more often than not the Packrat carries spare ammunition and supplies.

The Zener ARV and the Zener-A both carry out reconnaissance and direction duties, although the Zener-A has extra capabilities on top of it's radar to co-ordinate artillery fire, air strikes and ballistic missiles onto targets. Both are fitted with the LRS-2 "Bat" GSR, detecting vehicles at a range of 14km and infantry at a range of 5km.

Lastly, the Shrew FSV is a rather unique vehicle. Fitted with the deadly Blanchard Manufacturing AC-55 automatic cannon, a 55mm gun with high accuracy, airburst and guided munitions, and the punchy main gun is backed up by a coaxial HMG-14B. Such a vehicle can engage armour, drones, munitions, helicopters, low flying fixed-wing aircraft, and can even indirect fire with the right guidance by teams with line-of-sight to the target.

MRF-1 "Groza" Light Multirole Fighter

Postby Lauzanne » Tue Feb 23, 2021 2:18 am

MRF-1 "GROZA" LIGHT MULTIROLE FIGHTER

Image

OVERVIEW

Starting development in the mid-1990's as part of the Air Force's Soarer Program, the MRF-1 "Groza" (Thunderstorm) has gone through two other iterations to get to where it is now. Starting life as an offshoot of the Yugoslav Novi Avion. However, a change in requirements and need for a higher-performance airframe lead to the first flying prototype being manufactured, the MRF-1PS. The original prototype used a modified Saturn AL-31 engine, but a lack of performance lead to the project almost being cancelled. However, the CEO of Alyuka Electric, Mila Alyuka took up some of the development costs, brought on technical help from her own company and made the current Groza. First flying in 2015, the now-production model Groza is the shining pride of Lauzannean industry and ingenuity, and now, it can be yours.

The MRF-1 "Groza" is a 4.5th generation, single or twin seater, single engine multirole fighter that incorporates stealth materials, high-performance avionics, AESA radar and supercruise capability. Utilising all-new composites and Li-Al alloys as part of it's airframe, the Groza is a true blending of the East and the West, taking the best parts from both.

The "Crossroads" central computer combines a high-speed datalink, cutting edge avionics, advanced sensors and a HUD for the pilot to utilise, greatly enhancing the capability of each individual plane. Combined with others, they can act as spotters with their superior radar, jam enemy radars with their own "Refleks" AESA, and designate targets for planes with less powerful radars. In addition to this, semi-stealth characteristics reduce detection range by 10%, giving the Groza an edge against any non-stealthy opponent it comes across. It's final trick is the capability to use both the old Soviet and now Russian data-bus, along with incorporating a Western data-bus. This allows for blending of weaponry on a Groza, or data-communication between itself and either Soviet or Western planes with little issue.

LRU-3 "Kolibri" Hand-launched Drone

Postby Lauzanne » Tue Feb 23, 2021 3:36 am

LRU-3 "KOLIBRI" HAND-LAUNCHED DRONE

Image

OVERVIEW

Ever since leaving the USSR and becoming an independent state, Lauzanne has lagged behind other major powers in the use of UAVs for reconnaissance, among other tasks. However, Lauzanne did not possess the necessary technological sophistication at the time to produce their own UAV's, instead purchasing the RQ-11 Raven from America. Later adding the Serbian-made Vrabac to it's inventory, the LRU-3 "Kolibri" (hummingbird) entered into service in 2018.

Constructed primarily of composites, the Kolibri uses a twin-boom design and modular construction to cut down on weight, increase stability and lift, and allow for transportation in a supplied backpack. Equipped with a high-performance battery and high-definition electro-optical and thermal cameras allows for day and night time scouting. The drone is also capable of autonomous pathing without the need for human input, and can provide high-resolution data to squad leaders on the ground using a battle management system.

Lastly, the Kolibri can carry four small grenades (modified VOG-17M examples) in addition to it's reconnaissance equipment, allowing for employment against various fortified positions and for light infantry support.

Every purchase comes with: 4 full Drones, 2 control consoles, spare parts, 4 backpacks.

LRS-2 "Bat" Ground Surveillance Radar

Postby Lauzanne » Tue Feb 23, 2021 4:28 am

LRS-2 "BAT" GROUND SURVEILLANCE RADAR

Image

OVERVIEW

Lauzanne has a unique relationship in regards to the East and the West, as has been mentioned before. This extends to relatively niche systems such as the Bat radar system. Developed from both the PSNR-5and the SBR-3 "Fara". Need for a man-portable radar system that was of the same weight or lighter, along with superior detection range and tracking capability.

Akulov Dynamics created the LRS-2 in the mid-2010's and it has replaced the aging SBR-3's and PSNR-5's in service. It is a simple solid state radar with as few moving parts as possible, with a wide detection range and clarity in tracking targets. One system also comes with mounting points to fit to a HMG-14B's tripod to allow for ranging and enhanced targeting.

SPECS

Nomenclature: LRS-2 "Bat"
Classification: Compact PESA Ground Surveillance Radar

XF-2 "Vampir" Stealth Multirole Fighter

Postby Lauzanne » Sun Mar 28, 2021 12:58 pm

XF-2 "VAMPIR" STEALTH MULTIROLE FIGHTER

Image

OOC note: A good friend has drawn this art for me.

OVERVIEW

With the threat of Russian 5th Generation aircraft looming on the horizon with the PAK FA program progressing at a steady pace, concerns were raised that Lauzanne would not be able to defend it's airspace. Enlisting help from various European aerospace firms and also requesting technical assistance from Royal Marquesan Exports allowed for a rather rapid development rate, with first flight taking place in 2012. Kept under wraps and with only two prototypes until early 2020, it has entered trials with the Lauzanne Air Force and is expected to replace it's line-up of Su-27's and Su-30's.

The Vampir is a twin-engine, single seater, supermanoeuvrable stealth multirole fighter and the first in the Lauzanne Air Force to develop true stealth capabilities. Comprised of cutting edge composites, alloys and using a Marquesan-supplied 3d metal printing technique for the wings gives it excellent weight and strength characteristics. Use of a variable bypass system for the engine ensures optimum performance at all flight regimes, bolstered by cutting edge sensors and self-defence mechanisms to ensure a true 5th generation fighter that can take on the best in the world.

It's most stand-out feature (and one that stirred great controversy in aerospace circles) is the unprecedented 12 internal hardpoints, allowing for massive degrees of flexibility and massive mission loadouts. A wide variety of weapons are compatible with it thanks to the same Crossroads central computer that is also central to the MRF-1 Groza's systems. Such systems allow a prospective customer to use weapons from both the East and the West, with a high degree of integration for each weapons system.

Combined with all aspect stealth, supercruise capabilities and a combat radius exceeding 2,000km, the Vampir is truly a world-class contender on the 5th generation stage.

On detection of being hit by radar waves, the pilot is notified in their Helmet Mounted Display if it was one that could detect it or not. If it does detect the plane, the pilot gets an immediate warning of the type of radar, possible emitter and location/distance of the target. If not detected, the pilot will receive the same notifications and detection distance will be shown on the HUD for any friendly Vampirs as well. However, when painted by a laser, an enemy radar, or a missile is detected approaching the Vampir, automatic or manual countermeasures are applied. These can include use of chaff and flares as well as firing of one or both Mahui LDS Soft-kill lasers, or triggering of a BriteCloud canister to direct Radar Homing missiles from finding their mark.

XF-2S "Dracul" Stealth Strike Fighter

Postby Lauzanne » Sun Mar 28, 2021 1:33 pm

XF-2S "DRACUL" STEALTH STRIKE FIGHTER

Image

OOC note: A good friend has drawn this art for me.

OVERVIEW

The Vampir project had turned out to be quite an adaptable platform for other applications, and with the fleet of MiG-23BN fighter bombers having served out their term faithfully in the LAF, it was high time to replace them in the eyes of many. Thus, Novograd Aviation sought to create a capable strike fighter using the Vampir as a base. The Dracul was the result, first flying soon after it's single-seater sister.

The Dracul is a twin-engine, twin-seater, supermanoeuvrable stealth strike fighter with a high combat range, massive carrying capacity and a wide range of armaments to choose from. In addition, the two centreline weapons bays of the Vampir are merged and expanded on the Dracul, allowing for larger missiles to be carried internally, retaining it's stealth characteristics.

Unusual for a plane of it's class, the Dracul uses a tandem-seating system whereby the pilot and Weapons System Officer (WSO) are seated side by side, allowing for easier communication and co-ordination between the two crew. Also present for longer flights are a refuelling probe located opposite the autocannon, enough space for one person to lay down in the small hallway between the cockpit and the boarding ladder, a small galley and a toilet. This allows use on long-range strike missions, CAP missions or similarly long flights that extend past normal human endurance.

Fitted with the same avionics as the Vampir and with a radar modified for the wider nose, the Dracul is just as capable in air-air engagements as it's smaller cousin. Fitted with frontal canards to increase it's wing area, the Dracul possesses the exact same manoeuvrability as it's Multirole sister, allowing it to perform many of the same missions, but instead with an emphasis on strike missions.

XL-2 "Vukodlak" Liaison Plane

Postby Lauzanne » Sun Mar 28, 2021 1:52 pm

XL-2 "VUKODLAK" LIAISON PLANE

Image

OOC note: A good friend has drawn this art for me.

OVERVIEW

Perhaps the strangest of the three X-Planes created by Lauzanne, the Vukodlak by all external appearances looks like a larger Dracul with windows, is actually far more than simple appearances will show. A rather mysterious plane in LAF service, the Vukodlak is a unique form of liaison plane built off of the same frame as the Dracul and the Vampir.

Capable of seating roughly 8 passengers as well as the two pilots, the Vukodlak is built with one purpose in mind: Secret transport of personnel. Whether it be insertion of commandos via the rear bottom hatch (converted rear centreline weapons bay) or extracting a High Value Individual out of a country with very few people being able to detect or intercept it, the Vukodlak fills a unique role in unusual strategies and tasks. For long flights it has a refuelling probe, as well as a galley and toilet taken from the Dracul and expanded for what little bits of comfort it can allow.

However, it should be noted that despite it's lineage, it is NOT a fighter jet. Do not treat it as such, as it has limited defensive missile armaments.

"Lynx" 6x6 Reconnaissance Combat Vehicle

Postby Lauzanne » Fri May 14, 2021 1:39 pm

LYNX 6x6 RECONNAISSANCE COMBAT VEHICLE

Image

OVERVIEW

During the development of the W-Chassis, it became apparent the upgraded 2-man turret could not fit on the 4x4 Mink's chassis. This meant that for all intents and purposes, the Ulan-R and Mink performed the same role but there was a rift in capability between the two. immediately a new design was drawn, with the idea to mount a larger turret on the 6x6 chassis normally reserved for the Serval light tank/fire support vehicle. Utilising the relatively new and proposed Blanchard AC-35 to increase firepower, allowing the Lynx to serve in a fire support role as well as a reconnaissance one.

The Lynx is a 6x6 wheeled armoured reconnaissance vehicle armed with a 35mm autocannon, coaxial 8mm GPMG and twin ATM Contender tubes. It is designed for reconnaissance and fire support missions, and is capable of engaging personnel, tanks, armoured vehicles, low flying aircraft, helicopters, UAVs, and buildings. Equipped with 3rd generation thermal imagers, an extending mast camera, and an LRS-2 GSR, the Lynx comes well equipped to carry out any reconnaissance mission on the modern battlefield.

M-21A "Granit" Main Battle Tank

Postby Lauzanne » Fri May 14, 2021 3:59 pm

M-21A "GRANIT" MAIN BATTLE TANK

Image

OVERVIEW

With the aftershocks of the end of the Refusal War subsiding after nearly a decade, many arms manufacturers within the country found themselves rapidly changing with the influx of Western expertise and design information. Although considered for purchase at the time, the French Leclerc MBT was considered too expensive to justify replacing the LDF's tank fleet, with the change to the M-86 MBT to be the cheaper option to standardise on until a decision would be made in the 2010s. However, arms designers inside the country saw potential in a more Western-style MBT design, and thus the concept was born.

TMP and SHI both formed the joint company Granit Industrial in the 2000's to carry out design and prototype production, with the tank initially internally referred to as the MBT-21. Originally created purely as a private venture for export, its unveiling in 2007 caused some stir within the European arms market and some interest, with little materialising beyond initial talks. However, the true interest came with the 2008 White Paper, and the subsequent drive to integrate and modernise the LDF. The MBT was considered a high priority subject due to the documents' stated risk of there being a major European land war within 20 years, and the armoured units of the LDF would be the primary high-intensity fighting force in such a conflict.

Tests of the MBT-21 were conducted against the OAZ privately made T-49 & the M-86BM, a radical modification of the M-86 to feature many of the same turret features of the M-21 such as a bustle autoloader. However, in most tests the MBT-21 found itself the best protected with organic APS support, strong third-generation thermals & excellent ergonomics. In mobility it was faster than the M-86BM but slower than the far lighter T-49, and maintenance staff found the MBT-21 was far easier to properly maintain, with full powerpack support allowing much faster engine replacement.

The tank was accepted into service as the M-21 in 2012, after three years of long testing. However, it would see its war within one year, as the Spring War of 2013 saw the early deployment of the first battalion's worth of tanks with the 7th Armoured Brigade. In the infantry support and anti-tank role, the Granit served excellently, with no total losses to the tank and the destruction of insurgent MBTs and IFVs. Dramatic footage of the APS intercepting rocket-propelled grenades and ATGMs was prominently shared around and with production continuing, the tank is set to be at full capacity within the LDF by 2025.

The M-21A is operated by three crew members, with a driver located center at the front, with the gunner occupying the turret's left and the Commander the turret's right. Ammunition is stored in a 22-round autoloader in the turret bustle, with two 6-round storage containers located to the rear of the hull with blast doors as backup ammo. Both the gunner and commander have 3rd generation thermals, and the Commander also has access to an RWS that can be fitted with either a GPMG or a HMG as needed. The crew also has climate control and a water heater for comfort.

NA-23 Anteiov Cargo Plane

Postby Lauzanne » Sat Jun 12, 2021 10:13 am

NA-23 "ANTEIOV" HEAVY-LIFT CARGO PLANE

Image

OVERVIEW

Lauzanne has a history with flight almost as long as it has been achievable by humanity. From advanced biplanes and some of the first Bombers in WW1 to the Kovec design bureau in the interwar and WW2 period, to the current day Novograd Aviation.

One of the most impressive planes to soar through the skies of the world is the An-22 'Antei', one of the larger planes to take to the sky and the largest turboprop plane. With one still flying in Lauzanne albeit with an aging airframe and dwindling flight hours, Novograd Aviation engineers got to work with the legendary Antei as a performance benchmark.

The NA-23 "Anteiov" (Lauzannean: "Son of Antei") is a quad-turboprop cargo plane derived from (and improving on) the An-22 Antei cargo plane. Made with more modern materials and aerodynamics understandings, the Anteiov can carry a larger cargo load as well as sustain a greater range with said cargo. With modernised engines as well as improved electronics, the Anteiov is presented as an affordable, cheap to fly and very capable bulk cargo hauler for long distance flights and landings at unprepared or otherwise rough runways.

The frontal section is always pressurised, allowing a crew of up to 10 in two shifts of five (Pilot, Co-Pilot, Flight Engineer, Navigator, Load Attendant) to stay in relative comfort, with a sleeping area, small galley, toilet and even a small loungeroom. An additional 18 passengers can be taken in the pressurised frontal compartment.

In order to keep the overall plane lighter in weight, the rear section is only lightly pressurised to 0.3 Bar. A pressure bulkhead allowing for cargo attendants access to the main cargo area allows items to be air-dropped rather than rolled off the ramp, allowing for delivery of humanitarian aid as well as paratroopers or air-deployable vehicles.

Total cargo capacity is 95,000kg, over 7,000 more than the An-22. However, typical cargo runs would be undertaken with a lower overall cargo to almost double the impressive range of the Anteiov. It should also be noted that it has short takeoff capability as well as being able to land on rough or un-prepared runways.

XD-5 "Harpy"

Postby Lauzanne » Sat Jun 12, 2021 1:25 pm

XD-2 "HARPY" STEALTH UNMANNED COMBAT AIR VEHICLE

Image

OVERVIEW

Briefly seen in the tail end of the Spring War in photographs but never officially confirmed until recently, the eXperimental Drone Number 5 code-named Harpy is the first large UAV deployed by Lauzanne and the first one explicitly built for combat.

The Harpy uses a single engine tail-less swept wing design common to low-observable UCAVs, the Harpy possesses advanced sensors in order to detect and engage land and air-based targets. The Harpy also possesses an autonomous waypoint mode for reconnaissance, so that even in heavily contested electronic battlefields the Harpy is still able to achieve it's missions. For longer range missions, a refuelling port is provided, allowing refuelling from tanker aircraft and drones mid-mission.

The Harpy also has two weapon bays with which to store a variety of munitions, depending on situation. From speculation in the Spring War it was mainly used to drop bombs on vital insurgent positions with minimal risk of return fire.

the 5C is a carrier based variant that comes with a landing hook, along with folding wings for easier stowage inside of limited carrier space. Otherwise, there is no difference between the two.

Both drones are being developed with a loyal wingman mode in mind, to later be able to work alongside and assist pilot-controlled master aircraft.

M-12 Jaguar Light Armoured Vehicle

Postby Lauzanne » Sat Jun 12, 2021 2:04 pm

OAZ "JAGUAR" LIGHT ARMOURED VEHICLE

Image

OVERVIEW

With the success of the Ferret in the LDF, the early days of the Spring War showed it's resilience to smaller IEDs and hastier roadside ambushes and saved the lives of many LDF soldiers. However, the Ferret was still vulnerable to larger 12.7 and 14.5mm HMG's, as well as larger better-prepared roadside bombs sometimes rendering such vehicles inoperable and at worst injuring or killing crews. The requirement emphasised stronger anti-mine and projectile protection, as well as incorporating an RWS into the design to allow for firing from inside the vehicle.

OAZ took to the challenge and designed the Jaguar off of the OAZ 2281 4x4 and 6x6 truck, with the M-13 and M-14D also being accepted into service in time. Designed with a reinforced V-hull, new thicker armour and bullet-resistant glass, as well as a high capacity for men inside, the Jaguar is for almost all intents and purposes a 4x4 troop carrier. Suited to low-intensity warfare and internal security duties, the Jaguar has space for up to 8 soldiers in full gear. Protected from IED's and external gunfire by new-generation armour, the RWS also enables the vehicle commander to better survey the area via thermal camera and lay down accurate supporting fire.

M-13 Visyan MLRS

Postby Lauzanne » Sat Jun 12, 2021 2:41 pm

OAZ "VISYAN" MULTIPLE LAUNCH ROCKET SYSTEM

Image

OVERVIEW

Replacing a venerable system in service is no easy feat, and OAZ had a tall order with streamlining and replacing both the M-77 Oganj and BM-21 Grad systems. OAZ already had a Jaguar prototype with a 6x6 axle and the decision was made to give it a flat bed and a rocket launching mechanism. Designed with modularity in mind, the Visyan (Lauzannean for Blizzard or Snowstorm) was accepted into service in 2013 and served well in the Spring War, delivering rapid accurate rocket artillery onto insurgent positions and formations.

The Visyan's crew all sits inside the armoured cab, directing fire and communicating under armour at almost all times. Reloading is carried out by a separate crane truck allowing for rapid reload. Well-trained and drilled crews in the Spring War were able to deploy, fire off two volleys of rockets and move inside of 10 minutes, avoiding counter-battery fire. Fire control and battle management is entirely digital, and when integrated with the battle net, can lay down accurate and quick fire when requested.

Visyans come with a modular system for their rocket and missile armaments, whereby two modules of similar or differing types can be used depending on the situation. Such changes are often made at a depot but can be carried out in the field with the appropriate modules and lifting gear.

In 2018, the Jaguar received an update in the form of the ATM-3N "Contender" NLOS missile. Developed in parallel and with co-operation from Serbian engineers on the ALASNLOS missile system, the Contender 3N utilises a fibre-optic cable and a small turbofan engine to engage command posts, helicopters, vehicles and tanks out to 60km. The high-speed datalink afforded via the fibre optic cable also allows for it to double as a reconnaissance tool. Contender missiles are placed in 4-pack modules on the Visyan's racks, replacing either a Grad or an Oganj module. Such missiles are highly accurate and hard to detect on thermal camera due to the low temperature of the turbofan compared to a rocket motor.

M-14D Oka Nieba Drone Carrier

Postby Lauzanne » Sat Jun 12, 2021 3:09 pm

OAZ "OKA NIEBA" DRONE CARRIER

Image

When sold, Oka Nieba will come with two MRD-1 Lastochka Drones

OVERVIEW

Drones are a relatively new occurrence in the LDF, having only come into wider spread use in Lauzanne's involvement with Afghanistan and the ISAF. However, this change in doctrinal thinking lead to the pursuit of drones in LDF service, resulting in many indigenous designs utilised to this day. However, the issue of controlling them and directing their usage became a problem, as UAV crews often had to be outside of their vehicles to properly utilise their drones, exposing them to the environment and possible danger from small arms and explosives.

Working off the same 6x6 chassis as the Visyan MLRS, the Oka Nieba chose the MRD-1 Lastochka as it's primary service drone. The Oka Nieba has a catapult with which to launch the drones, as well as two control systems to be able to control one drone fully or two in waypoint mode.

MRD-1 Lastochka Medium Range Drone

Postby Lauzanne » Sat Jun 12, 2021 3:20 pm

MRD-1 "LASTOCHKA" MEDIUM RANGE DRONE

Image

OVERVIEW

In Afghanistan, LDF members serving in-country had access to smaller hand-launched drones, but endurance was considered poor and the camera link too low-resolution compared to larger drones such as the RQ-7 Shadow. Being developed over a few years by several companies in Lauzanne, the Lastochka was available for service just in time for the Spring War, albeit initially it was launched via ground catapult or unprepared flat areas. Later integrated with the M-14D Oka Nieba system, it nevertheless provided invaluable reconnaissance data with it's high endurance and powerful optics.

NOTE: Each unit comes with one drone, a catapult, and a control unit.

M-11R "Ulan-R" Tracked Reconnaissance Vehicle

Postby Lauzanne » Thu Jun 17, 2021 4:17 am

M-11R "ULAN-R" TRACKED RECONNAISSANCE VEHICLE

Image

For use in reconnaissance platoons and battalions, the Ulan-R presents a strong, flexible and capable vehicle capable of supporting dismounted recon troops, performing reconnaissance in high risk areas, identifying targets at high ranges and providing fire support when required. Sharing many components and a similar layout to the Ulan ICV, the Ulan-R's high parts compatibility allows for streamlined logistics at the brigade level.

The main differences between the Ulan and it's reconnaissance-oriented cousin is the addition of a second radio that doubles as a drone control unit, a charging station for drone batteries, a large telescoping mast with a third generation FLIR camera, and an LRS-2 Ground Surveillance Radar. It has reduced the space in the rear for a 5-man reconnaissance team as well as the systems operator's area closest to the turret.

Protection is the same as the Ulan ICV, along with firepower.

SPECS

Name: M-11R "Ulan-R" Tracked Reconnaissance Vehicle
Mass: 34.8 tons
Length: 6.9m
Width: 3.1m
Height: 2.43m
Crew: 4 (Driver, Commander, Gunner, Systems Operator) + 5 Passengers

Engine: LTD6-16 16L inline-6 multifuel turbo diesel, 750hp
Power/Weight: 22~ hp/ton
Top Speed: 70 km/h
40 km/h (off road)
12 km/h (swimming)
Transmission: Orel HD40-7A 7 speed automatic transmission
Range: 650 km

Protection: Protection against 30mm APFSDS @ 500m, side protection against 30mm APFSDS @ 1000m, rear protection against 14.5 API @ 500m.
Armament: 30mm 2A42L 30mm autocannon

OVERVIEW

Alongside the W-Chassis, the T-Chassis was constructed to be used by LDF Heavy Mechanized Battalions and larger brigade elements. Otherwise, they share armaments, turrets and even roof hatches. Commonality of engines apart from displacement allows for a common head, turbocharger and other systems to be utilised, streamlining logistics even further, and the compact form-factor of the engines ensures excellent internal space.

Built without a turret, the Ulan-U is the lighter-armed variant focussed on transporting troops. Equipped with a pintle mount or remote weapons station, the lack of a large space for the turret increases troop transport capacity to 10 in the rear.

The seats are not affixed to the floor in case of detonation of an IED or AT mine, and the entire compartment has a spall liner in case of penetration.

Used in the AA battalions for Heavy Mechanized Brigades, the Guardian-T utilises twin AA guns and four short-range AA missiles to protect formations on the tactical level. The turret is fitted with two radars, an E Band radar located on top of the turret for target acquisition, with a J-Band tracking radar on front of the turret to detect aircraft flying from 15m-3,500m in altitude and at a maximum range of 25km detection and 18km tracking ranges. The radars are designed to work even with high levels of electronic interference.

For armament, the Guardian-T utilises a pair of modified Oerlikon GDF-001 cannons firing 35mm ammunition, and four canisters for the Strela-S missile. Developed from the Russian 9M311 missiles. Maximum range of 9km.
