Lyonesse's WFE now reads "Welcome to lyonesse," rather than "Lyonesse is a beautiful, sprawling region with many different types of environments for nations to grow in. All who are willing to work with one another in harmony are welcome to join."

Incredibly, League's WFE has not been changed at all. Some regions have had their WFEs to their oldest state as per the Grey Wardens' WFE archive; among these regions were Beans, which has had its WFE from 2018 restored despite only being refounded in 2020.

There have been some successes but these are substantially outweighed by the failures aforementioned (and unenumerated, for reasons of space and because it's half past one in the morning and I don't want to get any tireder from researching this sort of stuff).

Quite clearly the regions were not restored as best as you could, as Tinhampton's post illustrates.

Setting the WFE to "Welcome to [region]" isn't any more effort than "n/a", is it? I won't even comment on The Empire of Oppression.

I mean, it does point out an interesting potential distinction between "de-tags" being just the removal of the raider-branding graffiti, and "restorations" not only removing the graffiti but also repainting everything back to the original appearance. In this specific case, the regions were definitely de-tagged in that regard, but not restored to original condition.

There's generally an accepted rule of thumb that regions lacking active natives tend to get the "Welcome to X" treatment oftentimes, especially if the old factbook is something that's been kept around for years on a dead region.

Sometimes we miss on that call, but not often. Ultimately, you're making a mountain out of a molehill here Tin.

If this is the biggest complaint you can come up with for this particular operation, I would consider it to be a rousing success. Also while I'm at it, I'd love to see CCD sometime try to do some detags - or any update activity for that matter - "the right way" sometime to show the rest of us who apparently aren't doing them correctly.

Inter-Regional Chat

The North Pacific is excited to join the formation of the Inter-Regional Chat (IRC) and the opening of the server which can be joined here. The IRC is an interregional organization created by a number of our allies and friends to establish a Discord server for interregional affairs and creating common ground. Since the opening of the server, we have seen a rapid growth of members, reaching over 100 members within hours of the server becoming public! Statement on the Invasion of Genua

Greetings,

This past Sunday, the North Pacific Army (NPA) participated in a large-scale joint operation alongside forces from The Black Hawks (TBH), the South Pacific Special Forces (SPSF), the East Pacific Sovereign Army (EPSA), the West Pacific Armed Forces (TWPAF), the Legio Pacifica, the Europeian Republican Navy (ERN), The Order of the Grey Wardens (TGW), the Land of Kings and Emperors (LKE), Balder, the League's Defense Forces (LDF), the Ten Thousand Islands Treaty Organization (TITO), the MT Army, Lone Wolves United (LWU), Thaempirial Army (THA), the Red Fleet (TRF), the Kingdom of Great Britain (KoGB), the United Kingdom Air Force (UKAF), the Free Nations Defender Army (FNDA), the Joint Systems Alliance (JSA), Korea, the Autumnal Court, Aurrelius, and Wintercrest to rid the world of an up-and-coming Nazi stronghold.

Following the deletion of its founder nation, Genua was seized by a record-setting one-hundred and fifteen (115) updaters from all across the NationStates world. It is currently being held by over one hundred nations in an ongoing piling effort, where eight of the North’s finest were also in attendance on the jump. Their names are as follows:

The site administration has now made it clear that Nazism on NationStates will no longer be acceptable.

The North Pacific stands firmly in affirmation of the anti-fascist cause. We will not tolerate hatred and we are proud to be a part of the unifying show of force that was displayed from every end of the raiding/defending spectrum. The fifteenth (15th) of May's major update is a perfect exemplification of the sickly remnants of the ideologies that plague our game and how they ought to be dealt with.

That’s right folks. We did it. We killed defending.

Exaggerated gloatposting aside, It was just your average Monday night - Major Update was running pretty quiet with the casual Libcord doomstack ready to stomp anyone in their way. Of course, at the first whiff of Hawk, the death machine roared to life but out of Birb came a host of updaters ready to challenge the Defender horde.

We caught them by surprise, going at twice the usual pace. At the helm were the trio of NPAers - West with the trigger, Yuno switching at the speed of light like she hasn’t been on a hiatus, and Healio snatching up first move after first move as if it wasn’t their seventh op. Right alongside them were duos from the greatest Independent orgs of our time. First up, just like during update, were UPC and GC from ERN, whose incredibly fast move timers and pointing competition helped up our pace. Not to be outdone, Atlae pushed into the standing for fastest move and switch times as update ran on, and his EPSA buddy Cat snatched Del after Del spot. THA Taungu backflipped into constant first endoes while Andy under the radar snatched several super quick moves. We shut out defenders for a good half of update, before the peeps chasing TBH came back and gave us a good fight. Props to Libcord (as always) for pulling out such incredibly fast intervals of move timers (at some points helping us get to over ten updaters moving in under a second) to the point where we had to 50/50 targets with tight triggers. But even the full Libcord death squad couldn’t catch us, and in the end we slammed them 37-13. Better luck next time, and GGs.

And don’t worry, minor updaters - next time we’ll let you have a bit of the action as well!
