Nope. The best we have to go by is this:
Fauxia wrote:I think I have to eat my words. 1402.1 is identical to 1402.2
Or here's all relevant posts on the subject.

Option variants with the exact same text and effect line don't concern me much, but I guess if you manage to figure them out, the spoiler thread will appreciate 'em.

New issue option: viewtopic.php?p=38102039#p38102039. I'm trying for a different path, so I didn't select it, but it probably has the same effect line and path as its variant option. I'll try to confirm if I get another chance.

I got it by: 1375.2->1376.1->1377.2->1378.1->1379.3->1381

New issue option for #1383: viewtopic.php?p=38103166#p38103166. Effect line is the same: "The nation is relieved that all of the recent madness has finally come to an end."

And a new issue option for #1405: viewtopic.php?p=38110642#p38110642. Effect line is the same: "Trade ministers have to consult a fifty-page "sanctions spreadsheet" to determine which countries they are allowed to do business with." Both options end the chain."

I think you have #1377, Option 6 listed with the wrong effect line; it should be the last one, "sly spies try to rely on national allies so that they don't die," the same as Option 3. Also, for #1425, Options 2 and 5 are swapped, I believe.

I already saw those. If they're not up on the site yet, they will be tomorrow.

Thanks, fixed. I must have misclicked or something, since on inspection of the issue it's pretty obvious that you're right.

Paffnia wrote:Also, for #1425, Options 2 and 5 are swapped, I believe.
Are you sure about that? I admit I did just make an educated guess on those, but I don't see how the effect line you're proposing for option 2 would make sense there, so if you're just guessing too I'm not sure your guess is better than mine. Looking at the stat effects does seem to support your version, but not by such a strong degree as to be obvious. I could just take down the effect lines until we have definitive confirmation, if you want.

I chose the last option on Transportation (a nation where I answer issues to increase public transport, thanks to your tool!), and got the "ministers browse Alright! magazine for fashion tips" effect line.

What's with the issues with "???" Are they just not in the database yet or is there not enough information to be posted?

I ask because I just got an issue where it is not listed on the site

There are several very specific and hard-to-find issues that still haven't been "reported", i.e. no-one has gone to the spoiler thread and detailed the new issue. While the whole issue isn't needed specifically for this project that Trotterdam is doing, knowing the effect lines for an issue is a crucial part, and so issues where no effect lines are known are reported in this database as "???". Currently, the issues that are missing are #1353, #1380, and #1420.

If you still have the issue in your inbox (and it's one of those three I just mentioned), please report it in the Spoiler Thread I linked earlier. It would be a massive help to not only this project but the Spoiler Thread in general.

I can confirm this as well.

Also, new issue option found: viewtopic.php?p=38238263#p38238263. Internally numbered option 0 comes from picking #1385.2 and internally numbered option 1 comes from picking #1386.2. Effect lines are the same: "The nation is relieved that all of the recent madness has finally come to an end."

Dunno. Ask my ISP. They're running the web server, I'm just uploading the HTML files.

Really though, there's no benefit to using HTTPS. Absolutely no private information whatsoever gets exchanged with my site.

Something interesting and unusual happened to one of my puppets (Cain G LoP Pov v0) yesterday. It is all explainable by known phenomena and coincidence, but I'm posting it here in case it deserves further investigation.

My puppet chose to answer issue #523 with option 3. Your Web data shows that in at least 600 cases, this choice never had an effect on the Economy stat. But my nation's economy rose by 2.71. Now, this nation is pretty unusual - its previous Economy stat was -0.85. Its new Economy stat is 1.86, which is exactly 100 + its economic freedom stat (a relationship I have often observed). The other thing I've noticed, though, is that your Web data does not reflect this result. Of course, this could be because the Web data has not been updated since this happened (it was on 2/20, around 10:02:23 AM Eastern time), or some random factor might have kept your programming from processing this particular data point. Still, I was looking forward to seeing it reflected in the data, and I'm curious if there could be some other potential cause for its absence.

Here is what my script recorded as the changes from this particular issue option. I think the stat abbreviations are all transparent.

Code: Select all
govttype = Authoritarian Democracy
freedoms = (Some,Imploded,Very Good) -> (Some,Basket Case,Very Good)
population = 617 million

Interesting, though I'm not sure what to make of it. It seems likely that the fact that your Economy was previously negative (something that has only recently been implemented as possible, as it was previously a strict 0-100 stat) is involved somehow. Probably negative values work on a different formula than just extending the positive values, and something in your nation was just at the edge of "switching" which formula gets used. That would be a rare enough occasion to explain its absence from the data, particularly since having a negative economy isn't exactly something most players try to do.

Actually, it appears to be because my program choked on a server glitch four days ago and I just now noticed. Argh.

I actually noticed the server downtime and took care to check that my program was able to get back to work when it ended, but these server errors often leave lasting glitches that can continue causing problems for a while afterwards, so this crash happened only after I had checked and thought I was clear.

Thanks for bringing this to my attention. Now fixed through the time-honored tradition of turning it off and back on again. Though for future reference, updates usually happen once every 24 hours, so I would recommend waiting that long before reporting a missed update.

(There are other factors that can cause data to be missed, but based on your link to the nation involved, none of them appear to apply here.)

Rocain Founder wrote:Here is what my script recorded as the changes from this particular issue option.
I apologize, but I do not take manual reports on issue results, except for the sake of alerting me when my data is outdated and needs to be purged entirely.

It is simply too much effort to enter that much data by hand just for the sake of one data point among many, even if you say that data point was somehow unusual. Furthermore, manual reports would introduce a risk of human error, which after enough reports woud approach certainty.

No apology necessary - I certainly wasn't expecting you to enter that data by hand. I provided it just in case there was no obvious explanation (which there was) and that it might be helpful for you in tracking down the problem.

A built-in search feature is present in pretty much any browser ever, usually accessed by hitting Control+F (if not that, then just look at your browser's menu or documentation). I'm not going to waste time reimplementing a feature that literally every computer should already have.

Unless you're trying to use the site by mobile phone, in which case it's your own fault, really. Get a real computer.

Even mobile phones have Control+F equivalent features nowadays - using mobile Firefox as an example, if you press the three-dot icon in the top right, you'll see "find in page" is an option.
