Séraphine Cuvier sweeps the competition, to secure her place to represent Gaullica at Lavelle!

Verlois, Gaullica - As Gaullica continues to prepare to host the 2021 Euclovision Song Contest in Lavelle; all eyes have fallen on which of competitors in the selection process would go on to follow in the footsteps of Violaine Rousseau.

Much attention has been given to the selection process for Gaullica this year, as artists have vied for a position to represent the host nation fairly seriously. Key titans in the selection process aside from Cuvier -- stage name "Séra -- included electro punk band 'Feu de feu' led by Régis Chapelle and Gaullo-Garamburan rapper Aurélien Beaufils. The selection competition saw each act put forward a piece of their own music; not necessarily what they would perform at Euclovision, to best showcase their chances and talent at representing the host nation.

Particularly important this year has been the element for Gaullica to live up to its performances last year, the Euclovision winning performance of the young Violaine Rousseau energised younger talent within Gaullica to continue producing their music. Rousseau herself served as a judge for this year's selection process, and is expected to open the event in a similar style to how Georges Redding opened 2020's Euclovision in Kesselbourg.

Séra's performance was judged to be "beautiful", but also "energetic" and "full of life". Rousseau described the performance, the atmosphere, the music and the supporting dance and act as "incredible" and told Cuvier that "this is what is expected of people at Euclovision". Embracing the singer, it was confirmed by the remaining judges that Séra had succeeded in securing her place to represent Gaullica.

The 25 year old Gaullican singer is internationally recognised as an accomplished musician and pianist. Much of her following stems from the Gaullophone, but she has in recent years began to experiment with other forms of music and incorporating styles from across the world in a "globalisation of music". In particular, a musical collaboration with fellow competitor Beaufils saw her music experiment in styles that originated within Garambura; as well as forays into Austral music with collaborations with Xiadongese jazz musicians in "pop jazz" that has become popular in parts of the world.

Yet many outside of Gaullica might not know the origins of our up and coming winner! Séra, who gained fame within the country at age ten for her performance at "Un incroyable talent!", has been a mainstay of the music scene within Gaullica since the launch of her first album at 16. The first album, 'Danse', was an adventurous step into the genre of pop that focused on music originated on the experiences of a young teenage girl from her first appearance on tv up until that point.

Her music since then has become a lot more adventurous, as the aforementioned explorations into Garamburan rap and jazz indicated. Her album in 2018 "Voix" compiled these songs into a platform that she hoped would introduce these genres of music to wider audiences. Her collaborating artists were extensively featured, and each had left a message indicating where to find more of their music.

Her success in the domestic Gaullican market, as well as across Euclea and abroad, Séra's online presence is notable as well. An advocate for amendments to Gaullica's abortion clauses, as well as an opponent of the institutionalised elements of the clergy in Gaullican society, her selection presents an interesting debacle: she is representing Gaullica, but to many she may come across as an outsider.

And it is within this division she finds inspiring in her music; a counter culture rebel, provocative and intense, who sings shamelessly about topics that some would rather be kept under the rug.

But her fans are behind her, and her nation should be behind her.

PIRAEA CROWNED VICTOR AT EUCLOVISION, TO HOST 2022 CONTEST

Lavelle, Gaullica - Piraea has been declared the winner of the 2021 Euclovision Song Contest. Stella Fotiou, Piraea's entry at this year's competition, was crowned the victor last night.

Fotiou, who is twenty-five years old and a native of the Sitia province, won out with her song Paradise. Piraea was awarded a total of 157 points by other nations, beating out all of the big names of the Euclovision contest.

Piraea was followed by Belmonte in second place and Gaullica, the winner of last year's competition, in third.

The pop-star made her Euclovision debut this year. Her performance and success at this year's Euclovision is likely to only be the beginning of a long career in Piraean pop music. She first entered the scene in 2018 and has enjoyed success in Piraea. Her victory at this year's contest will help her break out onto the international music scene. Fotiou has hinted that she is likely to release a version of her competition-winning song in Gaullican.

Her victory means that Piraea will host next year's edition of the Euclovision Song Contest. The government will begin work with the Euclean Broadcasting Group to allow for amble time to prepare.
