THE EUROVISION SONG CONTEST 2021
Rotterdam, The Netherlands
Open Up!

Eurovision Song Contest is finally back after last year's cancellation due to the Covid-19 pandemic and is now stronger than before. To ensure there are a contest, the EBU (who organizes the contest) has four scenarios with either a normal festival as we were used to before the pandemic (A), a festival as we were used to but with social distancing (B), with some country staying at home and some at Rotterdam (C) or full lockdown modus with everyone staying at home (D). This will ensure that The Netherlands can host their first Eurovision since 1980 After Duncan Laurence won in 2019 in Tel Aviv and giving his homeland their first victory at the contest since 1975. AVROTROS, Nederlandse Omroep Stichting (NOS), and Nederlandse Publieke Omroep (NPO) will join forces to host the event and will "Open Up" the Netherlands to the World Stage. The semis will be on 18 and 20th May while the final will be on 22nd May at the Rotterdam Ahoy in... Rotterdam. Our hosts are Chantal Janzen, Edsilia Rombley, and Jan Smit.

41 countries will take part. Bulgaria returns to the contest as does Ukraine again unless Jamala asks uncomfortable questions about Crimea again. Montenegro withdraws due to financial reasons while Hungary withdraws.

This thread will serve as a hub for everything Eurovision for the National Selections up to the main contest in May. All the reactions, all the news, and all the scandals will be present on this thread from the day it goes up to the days after the Eurovision final where we give each other salt and rant how “X was robbed” and “X is the worst winner ever”. Please respect each other opinions regarding song tastes and try not to troll much.

As always, I (the OP) will link all songs here in order to help you find your favourite going into the contest. These will be linked once they have officially been revealed and not leaked as quickly as I (the OP) can. Be aware that some songs might not be available in your home country.

As I have been telling people for the last 5 years. At some point I will have to forego words and use a hammer instead.
