Well hmm, I am taking measures to deal with that too, as in I'm working on like a very short guide that people can read instead of getting drowned by all the lore.

But for now, Exil is right, you can just try to focus on what you think is most interesting and forget everything else xD

And if you can just come up with a rough idea of what you want, we can help you as far as the lore is concerned

I do basically the same thing, hence why I know probably more than I should about Achysian lore off the top of my head.

Hey, just saw this and still reading all the lore and last few pages of IC to try and catch up with what's happening, so this is more of a rough draft for a potential character than anything. I'll post an official app if I'm happy with how he turns out.

Cian Castillo, halfling (Loroi/Human) Rogue/Mage. Pursuant with his life of theft stemming from a rejection of society, he adventures into a crypt dating back to ancient Thyria. Finding a secret door through a combination of rogueish skill and inherent instinct he enters into a long-forgotten chamber, a pure-white double-helix wooden wand at the center. Upon grasping the wand he is judged- his learned sin of Avaritia versus his potential virtues of Caritas, Patientia, and Humilitas. The artifact (not sure if it's a Relic? Can't imagine it in a human form, but could probably write it), judging that his potential for good outweighed his learned sins, bonds to him and helps him escape the ghouls and other undead awakened by its removal from the crypt. Now irrevocably bonded to one another, Cian sets out to find a better path, pursuant of the virtues he is capable of and that the Wand values.

Wand unlocks his inherent Mana, previously unexplored, and reveals its power- its intricate carving all along the double helix is a Chant of Light, allowing its user to combine the emotionally-powered Ancient Magic with the control of modern mage theory. His story will be learning these powers, throwing off his greedy ways, and becoming the hero that the Wand of Light foresaw him to be. Powers start from being able to use the wand as a handle for a Sword of Light, but builds into shields for allies and powerful blasts of light to disable enemies as he abides more with the Virtues ascribed by the Wand.

Take it from me with a grain of salt because I am just another player and frequently get Thrac's lore wrong.

Accepted!

Two lore mentions though, she would be a princely bard since Arghyo is a Principality, and as for her playing at the court - it could certainly have happened, there is a court with nobles and all the regular proceedings, but the Princess herself hasn't been seen in a few good decades, as she mostly stays within her chambers.

And the other lore mention is that as far as people know, there is one Princess.

I like it!

The concepts work within the lore, and as for the want, it could be an artifact or it could be a relic. Depends on what you want it to do and how sentient you want it to be.

If you do want him to be truly able to use a combination of the Ancient Magic and the Magic of the Oath it wouldn't be completely impossible, but it would be very difficult, mostly because inherently by chaining Ancient Magic with the power of the Oath you do cut off some its power.

However, it would be quite possible that the Thyrians had experimented with such a type of magic in their final years, and in that case I would lean towards the wand being a relic.

But the character concept and the potential story are both very nice xD

Name: Gabriela “Gabby” Vasile-Steig (pronounced Stage)
Age: Her 100th birthday is coming up soon.
Gender: Female
Sexual Orientation: Demiromantic bisexual
Race: Human
Appearance: (out of uniform) https://thepinkseat-askthemoonbunny.tum ... uick-using

Image

Position/Status/Affiliation: Physician. More specifically, plague doctor: she’s been through ten years of med school and now is enrolled in the Doctor’s Guild. She was mentored under Dr. Henry Beauchamp, a former battle medic that returned to his city after the war to help treat army patients. He’s now retired and lives at home with his wife...he’s always been kind to her and she considers him her real grandfather.
Skills/Powers//Magic: She’s got a shit ton of medical knowledge, and she often uses that to defend herself (you don’t wanna fight somebody who knows where every vulnerable point on your body is and who’s armed with scalpels and syringes).

Toxicology: She knows which herbs can be used in medicine and which herbs can be used to poison

Cooking: Self-explanatory

Apothecary: She often brews and blends her own medicine.
Equipment: A black leather bag filled with an assortment of surgical tools, bottles and jars of medicine, bandages, stuff like that.

Personality: On her job, she’s all bedside manner and take-charge. Outside of her job she’s a pretty closed-up individual. She takes her job as leader of her guild quite seriously and is devoted to her patients Even when it’s best for the group that she should, she refuses to leave any one of them behind. Even the ones who get on her nerves.

Most of the time her face is impassive like a blank canvas, but she is however capable of great emotions. It usually takes a big situation to pull them out of her though. Inside however she is brimming with a great rage for the death of her mother, due to medical malpractice. She’s much more relaxed around people she trusts, but it takes her quite a while to open up to new people. Her trust is hard won, but you won’t regret receiving it. If you break it however, that’s it. It’s over for you, never talk to me again. It’s because she really fears losing another person that she cares about, so she tries to have all her relationships warm and solid but not too deep, and always on equal footing.

Moral Alignment: Neutral Good
Biography: Born in Anselm as the eldest of two sisters of Alexander Steig, a shady businessman, and his wife Cassandra Vasile, her name was originally going to be Gabriel after one of the archangels of Aurora (and because her father expected a son. When she was born a girl he didn’t bother changing it except by using the feminine form because “it’s a strong name, it’ll get her far.” She and her younger sister Filippa grew up surrounded by the very essence of how dealings were done in Anselm, but her mother made valiant efforts to shield her daughters from its excesses and Adrian made sure to keep the worst of it from his kids.
Things were pretty uneventful, except for the odd shaded client or some of Adrian’a seedier buddies coming to Anselm trying to fight him once in a blue moon...when he got shot in the shoulder while on a business call, it got to the point where he arranged for his wife and daughters to leave the country.

So the family stayed in Duivene for a while until things quieted down, however another misfortune would strike them. About a year after their arrival, a plague happened to sweep through the village they were staying in and sickened many people, including Gabriela and her mother. The ten year old managed to survive, Cassandra however was not so lucky...and the incompetent physicians sent to tend her only exasperated matters. Adrian slipped out of Anselm with help from some friends and went to go retrieve his daughters, who were staying with some friends of his after the incident. Her mother’s passing inspired Gabriela to become a doctor later in life, and she studied under an older army medic named Henry Beauchamp once she became old enough to get into an apprenticeship. She now is head of the Doctor’s Guild in Anselm, treating those who need it.

Goals: To cure the plague and restore the reputation behind her profession’s mask (she’s got a bit of a thing against necromancers because they stole their masks and she’s still heated).

Theme Song: https://youtu.be/WLTI2rWAlV4

RP Sample:(If I know you, you can skip this part, but if not, I need a sample to see how good you are.)
Did you read the Rules?: (Yes?)
Miscellaneous:(If there is anything else you would want to add..)

Can't say I react negatively to my old writing since I am of the firm belief that there's been no improvement in that department.

However, half a year back I looked back at an old OOC from 2015 and god was I insufferable back then. Crazy.

I have a free character
"Dying is not very sex." - Some idiot, 2020

I prefer she/they pronouns, and I enjoy not having to debate people over whether or not they should respect that. If they/them pronouns aren't something you're cool with, just use she/her. Thanks! -That same idiot, 2020
