It's almost impossible in the context of this thread, but the more and more I think about having Eiko throw himself off of a balcony in a fit of grief and have D'aillisioux follow him in a stupid attempt to save him, the more and more I actually want to write it. I've been watching too much Sayonara Wild Hearts, doing too much with OMORI, and still have To Your Eternity in mind, and the concept of a showdown of Eiko's mind and heart, truth and lies, appeals far too much to me right now—

They say that in the last moments of one's life, 'fore the empty bliss beyond this world, there is one last muster of the brain and the soul to embrace reality in terminal lucidity. It is the moment the fog of delusion dissipates, leaving only the truth, shining in one's eyes like the glimmering shower of stars of this masked night. Then, as the final pieces of the brain drift away to that beyond, for a moment, there is the granting of a final wish. A lonely boy finds his paradise. A girl wishing to adore another finds herself as a mother. A lad abandoned by many finally finds his family, his friends. Two good-for-nothing criminals' progenies finally see that they have done better. A prince wishing for his people's glory finally ascends to monarchy. And yet, dead as they were, each of these left behind someone to carry on for them, someone who had learned of their existence, and who — with all their heart — cherished every pain and every pleasure, now resting fondly within the nestled confines of their mind, adoring that one chance to connect and bond with others.
And Eiko, who time and time again has lived only for the lives of others, thinking that the life sacrificed, the life dramatized is the only life worth living, can not protest this final indulgence. For these two dolls, forever young, picked and played with, there was finally this respite as they fell, fell, fell...

Suffice to say that they're not human nor exactly Vampire. On top of that, Dietrich is a half-noble, Elizabeth a full noble and Antonia is a commoner albeit having undergone NerEx Veteran treatment (as sole woman in the entire Empire).

He's not going to die, right? Because a suicide would throw a bit of a wet blanket on the evening, to put it mildly.

Course not, considering how attached I am to him. It'll just be a slight hurt and he'll probably be awake after a little while in his dreams, but the fact that it'd almost be one would still be one of the other issues if I actually go through with this. It's still in the consideration stages and a part of me doesn't think that it's all that practical; it's mainly just aesthetic impulse.
