Both Galambos and Mezei had excellent domestic campaigns and maintain their grip on the top two spots of the pecking order, with Griffiths having a difficult choice in who is the number one choice. Galambos has excellent reflexes and has been something of a late bloomer, meaning their age likely wont be in effect for at least another cycle or two, but Mezei has been excellent since a teenager and has only gotten better. Lo Duca is a solid enough third choice, should the need arise, while both Szekeres and Gyarmaty have shown glimpses of good play but are a bit too inconsistent to think about keeping in the final three should the Wanderers make it to a third straight Finals appearance.

A very veteran an experienced defensive group that has more or less been playing together as a unit for four years now. They are all in the middle of the prime part of their careers but this is likely the last tournament for almost the entire selection of the pool. For that, they have to build off the last two cycles performances and come together as a group to put up the elite level marking that they do for their clubs. It starts with the captain on the left side, he is in the part of his career where he needs to stay back more and defend rather than blasting forward, having the experience now to know when to overlap and not constantly do it. Mentally and physically tough after most of them have spent their time in the Eura league, this is the cycle where they can make their case for being the golden generation of Pasargan defenders or just a group of good individual defenders never really got it down with the national team.

Midfielders

RW: Erik Földessy, age 30, CA Paulinthal
RW: Jan Gersten, age 33, Bastion Image
RW: Ildiko Kálmán, age 27, Lujano Image (F)
AMC: Mária Vöröss, age 30, Royal Canterlot HC Image
A/MC: Márió Szölösi, age 27, Ulsa Image
D/MC: Szalyk Földessy, age 30, Ibini FC Image
D/MC: Zita Szöcs, age 31, Mar Sara FC Image (F)
A/MC: Ors Rátz, age 32, CA Paulinthal
D/MC: Ubul Kuruc, age 25, FC Felsenkirchen 1879 Image
LW: Vojmil Topić, age 23, CA Paulinthal
LW: Pellegrin Csapó, age 27, Marque Image
LW: Etilka Szöllössy, age 31, Manechester City HC Image (F)

This group is not much changed from the group that was selected two years ago, bar the inclusion of two CAP wingers to the team. Gersten is now brought to the role of an impact sub or rotation player as another one of the Földessy clan gets their time in the spotlight after season after amazing season for the Hurricane in the SuperLiga. It is worth noting that only the three players from CAP are the only players from the SuperLiga that have made the team, once again showing that foreign clubs like to pick up the talented Pasargan youth. By now everyone knows how good Vöröss is in the attacking midfield role and in any dead ball situation, though Szölösi is not that far behind her. Szalyk Földessy might be starting to slip a bit, but he is still the best defensive minded midfielder that the Wanderers have at their disposal. All in all, there is quality throughout the midfield and in the depth chart, as it looks like it has finally reclaimed the position as the best group of players for the national team from the striker group.

Strikers

LW/ST: Elek Salai, age 21, Ibini FC Image
AML/ST: Boriska Nagy, age 25, Spartangrad Image (F)
ST: Oriel Villagómez Acuna, age 30, Santos Luega
ST: Réka Szôllôssi, age 32, Stein-los Turkish (F)
ST: Najiyah Lubanah Mifsud, age 26, Stein-los Turkish (F)
ST: Júlia Müller, age 31, AC Izotz Zubia Image (F)

Half of the strike force has been changed over from two years ago, with Jager deciding to hang up his boots while the Horvat and Makai were dropped by Griffiths to bring in in form strikers. However that being said, it is clear that the star of the attack is Júlia Müller, as the elite striker is in the absolute prime of her career and her time in Brenecia has toughened her up to be a more well rounded striker. Acuna comes in after a great season with Santos to be the supporting striker, the former U21 player finally getting their shot with the senior team. However the name that is on everyone's lips is that of Elek Salai, as the young Ibini player gets included into the pool after being a major force with the U21 side the last few years. While his appearances are likely to be limited, he is in the pool and looks first team ready even if he is not a regular starter for his Vanorian club.

Formation And Tactics
Image

Griffiths came in and was supposed to bring about a system that emphasized pace with technical skill, something that would eventually overrun the opponents as the technically gifted players would rise to the occasion. What happened however was a series of matches where the side had to grind out results, something that is not exactly in Griffiths forte. Without the talismanic striker of Jager to come off the bench to bail out the team when they are not performing to the way the manager want them to, Griffiths needs to get the entire team to buy into his ideas. The pace on the team is outstanding and there is plenty of skill to around as well, but it starts with controlling the possession of the game and not allowing the opposition to get many clean looks on net. This team is set up to play a controlling game when against weaker opposition and to hit teams hard on counters when facing sides that are on par or perhaps even better than them.

NS Stats are not canon(See factbook for more info). Nation does not represent RL views. IC Name for all other RPs: Union of Soviet Socialist Republics. IC Name for NS Sports ONLY: Sannyamathland. Currently undergoing major restructuring. So factbooks and other settings may change.
No longer am a Communist. Definetely not a democratic socialist or liberal. My political views atm are pretty weird and messed up. Deal with it.

After a hiatus longer than any observer even dare attempt to quantify, the Meerkats are back. Of course they arrive with a completely new lineup, the only survivor being manager Ben Phillips.

The 22-man squad that will face the impossible task of taking West Zirconia to its past glories has been named as follows:

GK: Adam Horton (Markham)
DL: Andy Newby (Bradley Swifts)
DC: Michael Read (Banks)
DC: Sam Carlisle (Taylor’s Cross)
DR: Roy Hewitt (Banks)
ML: Brian Humphreys (Redwood Forest)
MC: Dom Byrne (Markham)
MC: Connor French(c) (Stanley United)
MR: Greg Clarke (Civil Service)
ST: Mark Heath (Mort Park)
ST: Tom Adamson (Taylor’s Cross)

Substitutes:

Goalkeepers: Terry Guy (Mort Park), George Boyle (Bradley Swifts)
Defenders: Harry Wood (Houghton Kestrels), Danny Mowbray (Broxton and Marrs Hill), Freddie Thackeray (Houghton Kestrels)
Midfielders: Steve Banks (Houghton Kestrels), Darren Little (Bradley Swifts), Stewart Cadden (Mort Park)
Forwards: Ben Holland (Currie), Saul Blair (Banks), Neil Hooper (Broxton and Marrs Hill)

West Zirconia has no national stadium. Venues will be announced when the draw is made.

Manager: Rohan Cammers (APX)

Overview
The golden generations of Audioslavian football were cycles 59 to 65, during which time the national side won a Baptism of Fire, three AOCAF Cups and two NS World Cups. The national team won nothing of import before and has won nothing since, despite competing in international football between cycles 4 and 29, between cycles 59 and 78 and since World Cup 80.

Historically, the national side has a history of doing reasonably well in tournaments. In recent years, this has slipped to simply ‘sometimes doing ok’.

Manager
When Sean Patterick finally left the managerial post, Audioslavians were rubbing their hands with anticipation as to who would become the next manager. Would it be Ager Alaba, the talented Astograthian taking Zozi to new heights? Would it be possible to drag Dragan Kryznjak back to Audioslavia? Perhaps Rook Cathar might be tempted to…

No. Rohan Cammers. You’re getting Rohan Cammers and you’ll like it.

Over a playing career that took him to Egloskerry, 1830 Cathair, Belight Wanderers, Wrexton City, Manechester City, Cazadores Cathair, Egloskerry (again), Gentleman's Club and finally Shamrock Cathair, Rohan Cammers gained one of the most infamous reputations in football, being banned from all stadiums in Apox and Mareibat while in his second stint at Egloskerry, returning to a stadium three games after being sacked in order to steal the football and run away, playing some games largely with his head, rather than his feet, if only due to his penchant for leaving said head in the faces of various opposing midfielders.

As a manager, he hasn’t so much calmed down as channeled his destructive tendencies into team talks and team selections. It… appeared to work? Shamrock Cathair won the league for the first and only time under his tenure. In his final season as manager of the club, the side reached the final of the Champions League, finished 2nd in the National League and won the Kirola Cup.

Rohan Cammers remains weird. He thinks he dresses stylishly but in actual fact dresses like a hungover Cam Newton in a gale. Despite the angular gingham cravats and the even angularer reddish cheekbones, mid-forties Rohan Cammers could still kick the shit out of you for daring to suggest his turquoise brogues don’t match his sarong. He is a wiry, scowling, jowly arsehole with a receding, greying hairline that makes him look like Iggy Pop at a funeral. His tactical nous extends to making sure nobody makes any f***ing mistakes in defence and relying on a couple of individual flair players, plus a trebuchet-sized target-man, in order to grab goals.

It’s *amazing* he’s not Audioslavian.

Style
Audioslavia have always played a brand of football dubbed kontrapuntzeka - counter-attacking to you or I. The side play deep when not in possession and, when regaining the ball, break quickly, with the four forwardmost midfielders turning into strikers and making probing runs. The idea is to play the ball fast, first-touch, and not give the opposition time to organize.

When in possession, Audioslavia play cautiously, attempting to bring their opponents to them and drag players out of position to exploit the weaknesses.

Eurico, Knudsen and Spijkers provide the team’s attacking flair, while Koenraad Rijsbergen’s job is to have very square shoulders that are much higher up than everyone else’s, and to use them to barge his way into position so he can head the ball.

Rijsbergen aside, Audioslavians tend to be a little on the lithe side, with all players bar centre-halves and goalkeepers topping out at about 5’10. They make up for their size disadvantage by utilising gamesmanship and general dirty tactics - shirt-pulling, diving, shouting at the referee together so that the ref can’t send everyone off, and so on.

Home Stadium
Arena Kirola (also known as the 66 Stadium)
Capacity: 78,200
Cathair, Audioslavia
Built in time for World Cup 66, the Arena Kirola has been the home of Audioslavia's national football team for as long as most living Audioslavians can remember. There has been very little call for the national team to change grounds in the intervening years. A long, narrow pitch is perfectly suited to the counter-attacking football preferred by the national team, and tenants 1830 Cathair have adopted their own way of utilising the pitch's peculiarly small (but perfectly legal, we may add) dimensions.

The high, bright white walls that surround the pitch are iconic. Once upon a time electronic advertising boards were mounted on the walls, but that practice has been replaced by the simple act of selling an entire side of the stadium to the highest bidder, who then creates a mural advertising their product. Sometimes this works, like when energy drink company Saltire created a series of artworks based on Audioslavia's two World Cup triumphs to adorn the wall opposite the hard camera before an international against Nephara. Sometimes it doesn't work so well. Take, for example, the thousand-burger-wrapper collage made by fast food chain 'O'Diamhnaghs' over the first half of 1830 Cathair's most recent season.

The 66 Stadium contains an array of amenities, from top quality restaurants to saunas, shops and supermarkets, to appease those sponsors that might only be traveling to the greatest club match in club football in order to network with their business buddies.

The stadium is getting on a bit, and as such the capacity has been lowered after renovations which converted the uppermost section of the top tier into higher-priced boxed seating.

Nation name: Jabal Akhdar
Trigram: EJA
Adjective/demonym: Akhdari
Nickname: Green Falcons

Coach: Youcef Dawud Al-Mufti

Inexperienced international coach appointed thanks to extended family ties to the regime. Aggressive, abrasive, and discourteous. Tactically inept, favors pace above all else.

Goalkeepers

1 - GK - Abdul-Ghafur Ja'far Naser (Ashkharqa) - 29
12 - GK - Mamdooh el-Abdul (Salayrah) - 20
23 - GK - Saqr al-Nouri (Khamad) - 21

Naser is an experienced keeper on the domestic circuit. He's positionally smart which makes up for his physical shortcomings, but prone to impulsiveness and has been disciplined for abuse, verbal and physical, to match officials. His young rivals aren't much better: el-Abdul has already served a doping ban in his short domestic career, and despite some highlights-reel acrobatic saves can be indecisive in managing his defensive area; al-Nouri is from a wealthy family and has essentially bought his way onto the national team - his lazy attitude on the pitch and drunken antics off it certainly don't suggest any other reason he could have been picked.

Defenders

2 - DL - Mu'min Humam Kassis (Hilalla) - 21
3 - DR - Rayyan Noor Zaman (Ashkharqa) - 20
4 - DC - Shameem al-Zaki (Image Rangers) - 19
5 - DC - Abdul Baasid el-Imam (Hilalla) - 22
17 - DC - Abdullah Sabah ud-Din Karim (Souday) - 24
18 - DC - Zaahir Kamil Abdullah (Kalbam) - 22
19 - DC - Asmar al-Hammoud (Image Athletic Club) - 25
22 - DR - Shihab Madani Kassab (Khamad) - 19

The back line is exceptionally young, and that's reflected in a pretty gauche attitude to their defensive responsibilities. More interested in charging up field to score, Kassis is a popular player for his flashy style and Zaman a pacy wingback who's a regular threat to cross or even shoot. The center backs are the team's biggest weakness: el-Imam doesn't have the physical stature to be a shutdown threat and, after negotiating a huge salary increase from his club, was widely seen as slacking off. al-Zaki is stronger off the ball but sloppy on it, and prone to loose passes and easy turnovers. Even the replacements are pretty green, offering much the same package of defensive liabilities, attacking intent and, in the game of Kassab, nakedly having bought his way onto the team.

Midfielders

6 - DM - Mirza Lutfi Samara (Khamad) - 29
7 - MC - Abdul-Majid Jarir Hakimi (Hilalla) - 21
11 - MC - Salim Lutfi Nazari (Image Warriors) - 27
13 - DM - Maahir el-Mourad (Ashkharqa) - 20
16 - MC - Zainuddeen al-Naim (Madufi) - 31
20 - MC - Shaddaad el-Hashemi (Kalbam) - 20

The narrow midfield three rotate somewhat: Samara is the most defensively-minded, bravely throwing himself into (sometimes reckless) tackles to cover up for the mistakes behind him, Nazari alternating between defensive and more forward roles, a rare hard-working scrapper on a team mostly full of arrogant wasters, but not really possessing the quality to be effective in his more offensive moves, and Hakimi, a popular young player who holds down an attacking position most of the time. He alternates between filming trick videos showing off his talents and getting suspended for on-field violence and off-field ill-discipline. el-Mourad is a strikingly clumsy hoofer usually good for a few fouls, al-Naim a good passer let down by a total lack of a right foot, and el-Hashemi has already amassed a long and depressing injury history in his short young career as a playmaking attacking midfielder.

Forwards

8 - WL - Ghassan Kedar Kanaan (Madufi) - 26 - captain
14 - WL - Raafi el-Begum (Kalbam) - 32
9 - FC - Abdul-Hadi Anis Haddad (Kalbam) - 30
15 - FC - Abdul Baasid el-Moghaddam (Salayrah) - 29
10 - WR - Mu'awiya el-Burki (Souday) - 27
21 - WR - Kamil Fahad el-Moghaddam (Image Warriors) - 20

The attacking three form a dynamic force, led by the graceful Kanaan, soaring up and down the left flank. A working class kid from the slums who's risen to captain his country at the World Cup, his is an inspiring story. Haddad is a tolerable central forward without really being an absolute goal machine. He doesn't have a huge nose for goal and seems content to work as a big-bodied target man holding up play and letting the quicker players work around him. el-Burki is an irrascible figure who often feuds with his teammates, but supplies plenty of accurate crosses all the same. The backups aren't a particularly inspiring selection: el-Begum is over the hill, and the el-Moghaddam brothers, despite their popularity for their flashy style of player and bling-bling lifestyle off the field, prone to ill-discipline and wild errors.

Home stadium

Quemorr Isles is a tiny archipelago located in the region of Sonnel and is mostly underwater. The islands themselves are basically uninhabited as the residents swarm the oceans. Many of these creatures are sentient fish, coming through the portal from outside Kirkham, Sylestone, to establish a new life here in stunning Sonnel. The Quemorr Isles have now decided to form their own national football team. This side has been sent to Græntfjall and their homeland, Sylestone, for the 74th Baptism of Fire. The roster is as follows:

Goalkeepers:
Blue Whale
Ocean Sunfish

Defenders:
Whale Shark
Barramundi
Tuna
Reef Shark
Fish Toilet
Green Turtle
Bottlenose Dolphin

Midfielders:
Basking Shark
Box Jellyfish
Clownfish
A big fat swarm of plankton
Beaked Sea Snake

Forwards:

Humpback Whale

Style Mod: +7777777 (if xkoranate breaks then +5 is OK)

Geektopia WC Information ǂ Each WC cycle now seniors a Geektopian person by 300 years, instead of a ludicrous 3,000. The age limit is now 4,500. ǂ Sixth time's a charm!

DEBUTANT PLAYERS (+29) | [S] = Starting player, [i] = Injured, [LC] = Low Confidence, [RPaaS] = Regularly Plays as a Substitute, [R] = Reserve Team, [NP] = Notable Player, [c] = Captain, [RPLDaaS] = Regularly Played as a Substitute

• #5 Dargy (Defender, 2400 years) [RPaaS]
• #6 Germaine Sophie (Midfielder, 1500 years) [NP — An ex-gridiron player who is mostly known for how mindbogglingly stupid his post-game interviews in the World Bowl competitions of old came off as. His aggressiveness and playing style strikes one as being a determined team effort, with an overbalanced amount of needless aggression.] [RPaaS]
• #7 Abdill (Midfielder, 2100 years) [R]
• #8 Matkowski (Midfielder, 2100 years) [S]
• #9 Shamammi (Midfielder, 2400 years) [NP — His inclusion on social media is disturbing and distracts the development in proficiency of his duty as a Ball Winning Midfielder. A very popular figure in the locker room, constantly called "Ratio Boy".] [R]

• #23 Rebimbas (Midfielder, 2250 years) [RPaaS]
• #25 Manese (Midfielder, 1800 years) [NP — Manese is the most surprised about his position in Geektopian society as a former priest of the Christian kind transitioning to a professional footballer. Still, the dons around him are emotionally stable and are completely inable to say anything damningly mean-spirited. That doesn't come without a few witticisms about Googology being the better religion, though.] [R]
• #26 Gerking (Midfielder, 1650 years) [R]
• #27 Swenty (Forward, 1500 years) [RPaaS]
• #28 Ogrodowski (Defender, 1575 years) [R]
• #29 Diminno (Midfielder, 1875 years) [NP — Diminno is known sarcastically by his dons as "the Mouthpiece Maestro", constantly spouting out rubbish motivational advice like, "We don't give up until the final ball!" or this bona-fide classic: "We have to venture through the rain to see the rainbow, because we're playing football outside.". His teammates follow his advice because they so desperately want him to shut the heck up.] [S]

Geektopia play an Attacking Pass Formation variant every two matchdays, which is a tactic that facilitates passing patterns so as to look limited to a 3x3 grid, resulting in an organized "pass and wait your turn for the ball" style of play.

Squadra Nazionale di Juvencus

Image

Information about Juvencus:
Capital: Pomena
Population: 130,656,702
Demonym: Juven
Country Code: JUE
Football Association: JFA (Juven Football Association)
Nicknames: Gli attacanti(The attackers), La Squadra(The team)
Football philosophy: Despite the nickname the team has gotten so famous for, Juven football philosophy domestically has been dominated by a lot of concrete walls they call backlines with very disciplined players and the focus has always been on getting attackers that are effective, rather than bombardiers. First national team coach August Toset tried to instill the traditional Juven style of play in the national team which worked into getting the team getting established as a mid-table side, which didn't serve its purposes all that well. Domestically, side AC Pomena was starting to dominate the Campionato with a tactic that hasn't been used by many other teams before, a tactic that uses its speed to counter-attack, start off its engines on its own if there's a stalemate but also play a distinguishably annoying style of possessive football if a lead of at least 2 or 3 goals is met. This has been coined by the fans as "Pomenienze" and its something Toset brought on to his players alongside a fiery mentality of not brining themselves down, it might've not initially helped the team qualify to the world cup, but it gave the team its first -and so far only- trophy in its collection, the Cup of Harmony. Ever since then this style of aggressive football has been used with big effect against most sides and has since then slipped on to even more teams domestically and even in the youth system.
Tactics this world cup:With Mauro De Casio's spot on the line, he has no choice but to utilise what all his predecessors have always had, he needs to use the Pomenienze. With Pavia stepping down the assistant management spot and former international player Madeiros stepping up to the occassion, De Casio will have a helping hand from a more experienced player, known to handle the pressure of playing the modern style in modern times. The Pomenienze style of play utilises speed, long-balls, aerial superiority and a lot of volley capitalisation and long-range shots to work which ends up either working like a charm and crushing opposing defenses, or it becomes the team's own demise. Effective strikers such as Silvestri and technically gifted wingers such as Martell and Etxberria organise most of the attacks while the midfielders mostly rely on long-balls and accurate passing if they're in the middle or working as supplementary wingers, if they're on the sides. Defenders mostly stay as a unit, only loosening up if there's an attack from the sides, however the central midfieders will be a good cover for all holes in the defence. A 3-4-3 formation which can switch into a 5-2-3 or a 3-2-5 at any moment is going to be utilised. With a focus on a 3-2-5 only in exceptional cases to increase the gap and a 5-2-3 to keep the advantadge till the end of the game. Expect Juven players to gather up around the ref during wrong & possibly right calls, with a lot of temperament towards anyone, even within themselves however with a monstrous mentality and determination that helps in most games, especially if the team is down.

RF:Matias Nespoli(Age 23)(Villa)
CF:Paulo Castelli(Age 25)(AC Pomena)
CF:Julio Campana(Age 19)(Ituraitz Victory)

Roster comments: A lot of players have left as well as joined the team. A major blow to the starting lineup's defence with the retirement of Felix being left to be covered by inexperienced Callejon, with 2 out of the 3 defenders belonging to the AC Pomena side, this could, however, bring good teamwork on the backline. and with the international retirement of Herbert as well as Tafani being left out of the team means this is the first time gli attaccanti has entered any major competition without a female player on the team in 8 years. Trust is slowly being put on a new generation of players, proven and unproven to give a steady flow of talent in the breeze of fresh air that the changes have brought. Most of the team is consisting of slim, agile and athletic players in most positions, with no exception even at defence, with a weakness towards more physical sides with more bulky players. Despite Toset's and Madeiros' departures a few editions ago and the impact of them still being felt, there's hope. With the team currently in 70th place globally, the long-term aim is towards regaining the lost ground and eventually winning even more silverware and the re-establishment of the team as a top side instead of a flop but in the short-term, the team will have to re-learn how to play against each other.

Vinceti Catedral(Capacity: 53,000)
Image

The Vinceti Catedral got renovated recently with an extension of 12,000 seats on the east end for better shading against the aggresive Vinceti sun and since matchdays will be taking place during Juven summer and with Vinceti being in an area that can be classified as having a desert climate with scorching hot temperatures that can reach the boiling hot point of 42 degrees celsius in the afternoon, a state-of-the art cooling system has been put in place both for the safety of the players and the spectators watching. As far as it goes, there's also restaurants as well as markets and a lot of vending shop stands both inside and outside the stadium, with a large VIP glass room on the west side of the stadium for important visitors. Owners of the stadium are corporation-owned Odiol Vinceti, owned by Odiol, a large automobile and ship-making corportation. The stadium's atmosphere on the inside is indeed quite electric and could even be described as quite intimidating and fiery by non-experienced and foreign fans, with a lot of chants as well as vuvuzelas and booing and shouting if there's unfavorable decisions, however with good safety measures, making the experience of the stadium as enjoyable as possible for all groups.

Thanks Filindo!

About Muralos
Muralos is a cosmopolitan collection of islands located in the corner of the Far East: RL’s Sakhalin and Kuril Islands. It is home to a population of Russian, Chinese, Korean, Japanese, and indigenous (Ainu and Nivkh) origins. The official language of Muralos is Esperanto- a language designed to be universal and easy to learn- but the population is exceptionally multilingual, with each citizen knowing an average of 4 languages.

The Muralosian National Soccer Team
(also known as the Hawks, after Muralos’ national animal, the Muralosian Hawk)

The Muralosian national soccer team represents Muralos in association football (or soccer, as it is called in Muralos’ former region Asian Archipelago). It is controlled by the Muralosian Soccer Association, the governing body for soccer in Muralos. Muralos' home ground is the Komcatt Arena in the capital city of Urbego, and its current coach is Jozefo Koltakov, former striker for CSKA Urbego and later Muralosian national team captain.

Kits
Unusually, the Muralosian national soccer team elects to use one kit with the national colors of Muralos.

Roster
The Muralosian roster has not changed in the past four years, save for the addition of reserves. The starting players were quite young when they joined the roster in 2016. Now, they are tried-and-true forces, having won the Second International Football Cup in Squidroidia in 2020 after 4 years of not facing competition, and having reached the knockout stages of two other tournaments: the 11th Independent Associations Championship and the 74th Baptism of Fire.

Starting Lineup of the Muralosian National Soccer Team
  • #1 Rodion Markov - Goalkeeper - as part of the U-20 Muralosian squad, he was nicknamed "the Prophet" for his formidable accuracy in guessing the direction of penalty kicks and capability to pass very wide, "seeing beyond" any obstacles.
  • #2 Ryo Takeda - Right back - the only team member with Ainu ancestry and hailed as a symbol of Muralosian diversity and Esperantism. (Of course, he is also a great player in his own right.)
  • #4 Aleksandro Kim - Center back - born in Kurilo of Korean descent, Kim moved to Urbego at the age of 13 to attend Urbego's Zamenhof High School and was part of the team that won the FIS, Muralos' premier high school championship, in 2008.
  • #5 Rikardo Lei - Center back - his grandparents were Fengjieans who were doctors during the Muralosian Civil War. (Unfortunately, the nation of Fengjie ceased to exist.) Exceptionally strong defender who played a very large role in the Asian Archipelago Regional Cup, most notably in the match against Elbaron in which the Hawks won 2-1.
  • #3 Koralo Petrov - Left back - another player who rose to fame through an FIS championship. Makes very wide passes and is regarded as a good team player.
  • #6 Mikhail Zheng - Left midfield - part of the same FIS-winning team as Aleksandro Kim. Had a brief stint playing in the Premier League of Li Qing (now the Confederation of Australian States) before returning to become a member of the Hawks.
  • #7 Johano Abramovich - Center midfield - Formidable dribbling skills, also the leader in assists during the Asian Archipelago Regional Cup. Jokingly dubbed "the creative type" by coach Koltakov, Abramovich is known for his long-range, curved shots, which proved useful in Muralos' 7-4 victory against Li Qing in early 2016.
  • #8 Nikolaj Granda - Center midfield - No relation to Walter Granda, who represents Muralos in professional tennis. Despite what his last name may suggest, Granda is a rather petite player. At only 5'7", his shorter stature allows him to be more agile and less injury-prone compared to taller opponents.
  • #11 Vilhelmo Lumin - Right midfield - a cum laude graduate of Urbego National University, where he played in the Muralosian University League, Lumin made his first international appearance as a substitute player during the Asian Archipelago Regional Cup. Following the retirement of veteran Klaus Sverov, however, he joined the starting lineup in Muralos' match against New Zhengguo in the Embassy Cup.
  • #9 Rui - Striker - Born Rui Zhang, he changed his name legally to Rui in July 2014. Remarkably fast and shoots penalties with good accuracy. One of the more underrated members of the team.
  • #10 Adamo Brava - Striker - the 29-year-old team captain (not 25 as previously stated!), widely considered to be the star player of the Muralosian team and an answer to some premier overseas soccer players. Despite his status, however, he is also known for his maturity and humility, often representing the Muralosian team in interviews and awards ceremonies.

Reserves of the Muralosian National Soccer Team
The reserves of the Muralosian national soccer team are newer to the team, most of them having joined in the summer of this year or in the last few weeks, as the Muralosian Soccer Association consolidated the men's and women's national teams into one co-ed team. This list of players will be updated in due time.
  • #18 Tanya Lubimova - Goalkeeper - starting goalkeeper for the former Muralosian woman's national soccer team, Lubimova's performance has long been regarded as equal to Rodion Markov's. Her role in the 74th Baptism of Fire tournament, in which she substituted often for Markov, has proven that further.
  • #17 - Ji-yong Park - Goalkeeper - starting goalkeeper for FC Havenurbo, a top-tier team in the men's Muralosian Premier League, usually second to CSKA Urbego. The 24 year-old Park uses "he" and "they" pronouns interchangeably, and they are one of Muralos' most notable non-binary athletes.
  • #28 Rebeka Mori - Left back - played for Nord-Urbo High School and now studies microbiology at the University of Oleo, where she plays for their University League team and works in the biology department's Permafrost Research Center.
  • #29 Aminda Mori - Right back - Rebeka's fraternal twin sister, she plays for the University League team at the University of Havenurbo, where she studies digital art and design. The women's teams of U. Havenurbo and U. Oleo have a long-lasting rivalry, and recently faced each other in the June 2020 women's soccer University League final. (U. Oleo won 1 - 0.)
  • #30 Daniel "Lerta" Donaldson - Left midfield - played for Zamenhof High School and made major contributions to their semifinal and runner-up finishes in 2018 and 2019, respectively. In 2019, he enrolled at the Havenurbo Institute of Technology, where he studies mathematics and plays for the soccer team – reigning University League men's soccer champions. In the summer of 2020, he was invited to practice with the Muralosian national team, becoming the second African-Muralosian player in the team's history and the youngest player on the current squad.
  • #32 - Yonghua Liang - Center midfield - a starting midfielder for the Nogliki Wolves and a former winger for the Muralosian women's national soccer team. Liang grew up learning the clarinet and was adamant about learning a sport that didn't require much arm movement, for fear that she injure an arm and be unable to play clarinet. (This is why she started soccer.) She reached the University League final with the University of Oleo's women's soccer team, and was also in the concert band that performed Muralos' anthem at the match.
  • #21 Georgo Zhong - Center midfield - a current teammate of Lerta Donaldson at Havenurbo Tech and an economics major there. While a student at Nord-Urbo High School, he scored a hat-trick against Urbego High School, securing Nord-Urbo's first FIS qualification in 10 years.
  • #23 Galina Shchedrina - Right midfield - a recent graduate of Urbego National University like starting midfielder Vilhelmo Lumin, Shchedrina has made a splash with her debut in the 74th Baptism of Fire. She is known to play well in high-pressure situations, making accurate passes even when surrounded by opposing midfielders and defenders.
  • #20 Valora Lin - Striker - a starter for the former Muralosian woman's national soccer team, Lin's presence on the new co-ed team is a boon for Muralos' efforts in international competition. She is sure to hold her own against starting strikers Adamo Brava and Rui, and Coach Jozefo Koltakov has considered playing her as a third striker on the field.
  • #22 Daniil Lee - Striker - formerly a defender and sometime striker for Nord-Urbo High School, Lee transferred to Urbego High School this year due to its more forgiving academic calendar. Now-national team coach Pavel Li noticed the 15 year-old Lee's ability last December at a U-20 national team tryout; after the Hawks' exit from the Baptism of Fire, Lee was granted a spot on the reserves as a striker. It is not clear how much playing time Lee will get, but he will be important if the Hawks ever play in an unconventional, offense-heavy formation (e.g. 2-3-5 instead of the Hawks' usual 4-4-2).

City Stadium of Havenurbo.
This stadium is noted for its modern architecture and unique design, but it was constructed in over 80 years ago during Muralos' Japanese period. Since then, it has been renovated various times, most recently in 2013. In March 2016, a Hyperloop connection between Havenurbo and Urbego was completed, allowing teams to travel from stadium to stadium at supersonic speeds. The stadium is now only a 5 minute journey from the Muralosian capital.

About Terre Septentrionale:

Terre Septentrionale consists of 20 Townships (Cantons) and a federal district. Terre Septentrionale is located on an island in the northern part of the globe and the climate is similar to a ReallifeStates nation called "Iceland". In summer, the weather ranges from 0°Celsius (32° Fahrenheit) to 20° Celsius (68° Fahrenheit). Terre Septentrionale was discovered during the 16th century by French explorer Jacques Cartier and was colonized in the 17th century by French, English, Polish, Croat, Slovene, Magyar, Spanish and Czech peoples. After some fights, the eastern part of Terre Septentrionle was a French colony and the western part, a Polish colony. The eastern part got it's independence from France in 1792 while the western part became independent from Poland in 1907. East and West Terre Septentrionale united in 1957 and it's now a single nation on the island.

Terre Septentrionale, once a catholic nation, is now one of the most secular nation in the multiverse. The "loi pour la laïcité" (secularism bill) was passed in the '90s and since then religious signs are illegal in the nation. In Terre Septentrionale it's illegal to wear a veil, an hijab, a burka and however they call it. It's also illegal to display any religious sign, such as catholic crosses, in public and religion is now looked with disdain.

To reach Terre Septentrionale, you have to take an international flight and land at one of the three international airports. All gas vehicles (except planes) are banned in Terre Septentrionale. For inter cities transportation, the best way to travel is by electric bus because the train system isn't developped. Our inter cities buses, made by InnovaBus, are luxurious with lots of spaces between seats. You can also rent an electric car with Hétu Car Rentals. Most common rented cars are the Chèvrefils Volt and the Niedzwiecki Leaf. If you prefer luxury cars, you can rent a Mercedes-Belzile EQ car. For intra cities transportation, we suggest taking the bus. Intra cities buses aren't as much luxurious as inter cities buses but they're still comfortable. Buses are passing every 30 minutes in non rush hour and every 10 or 15 minutes in rush hour. Ville Jacques-Cartier is the only city with a subway system with 5 metro lines.

We have many hotel chains in Terre Septentrionale. Claremount hotels, like Claremount Château Frontenac in Ville Jacques-Cartier, are 5 stars hotels. There's a Claremount hotel in Ville-Jacques-Cartier, Trzebiegoszcz, Yamaska and Papineauville. The two largest hotel chains are the Skrzypczak Hotel Group and Massicotte International. Both have an hotel in every major cities in Terre Septentrionale and they're all 4 stars hotels, except the Massicotte Château Champlain in Ville Jacques-Cartier, which is a 5 stars hotel.

If fans from your nation made it to Terre Septentrionale, but they didn't got tickets for the game, they still can watch the game at our many pubs and sports bars. Ostrzeszow Pizza Restaurant and Sports Bar has 59 restaurants and sports bars around Terre Septentrionale.

All inhabitants of Terre Septentrionale are fluent in two languages, more often French and Polish. Some others are fluent in French and English or in Polish and Croat. Some other inhabitants are fluent in three languages, more often French, Polish and English. MEGISTIA FUZBUL ASSOCIATION

STYLE:: -3

MANAGER:: Jason Michels
FITNESS COACH:: Huxley Goodwin
GOALKEEPER COACH:: Haiden Hamilton

Elijah BECKS • GK • 31 APPS • 19 Y/O
Becks is a very quick goalkeeper with great reflexes. He likes to come out a lot, and similarily to Blackwell, likes to shut down shot or pass options for opposition players.

Justin MEADOWS • LB • 4 APPS • 17 Y/O
A attacking player, after playing well for the Sunshine Twilight he has been picked up by the national team. He is quick to the ball and a great dribbler, but goes down often.

Nicolas AVILA • CB • 7 APPS • 17 Y/O
Avila has always been a good player with a family history of sports; but not one of them had visited football, and he had done just that now. Avila is a sturdy and tall defender, who often gets the point of the card directed at him.

Tyler-Jay MCCAFFREY • CB • 8 APPS • 18 Y/O
McCaffrey is the oldest player on the Starting 11. Reaching only 5' 9", he isn't the most tallest defender, but he is surely one of the quickest to get back. He is good in 1v2 situations, blocking down many routes to team up with Blackwell.

Kenzo FRAN • RB • 5 APPS • 17 Y/O
A nice player good with corners, Fran has a delicate and nice foot that can easily set up a beautiful chance.

Daniel LUKOVIC • LM • 34 APPS • 18 Y/O
The type of player who'll run down the sideline with the ball, getting past everyone and then sending in a beautiful cross, Lukovic is quick and great with his feet. Now also playing for the national team, his schedule is packed up with World Cup 87 coming soon.

HOWARD Mitchell • LCM • 26 APPS • 18 Y/O
The strong player in the midfield, together with Vo and Jorgenson create the backbone in the midfield. He is more of a defensive player, but can be creative in the attack whenever he sees a chance.

Dylan VO • CM • 8 APPS • 15 Y/O
The youngest player on the squad, Vo looks forward to being a starter on the team. With his defensive style combined with his attacking gears, Vo can be a threat in any situation.

Roberto JORGENSON • RCM • 39 APPS • 18 Y/O
The captain of the team, Jorgenson is barely under 19, with only a few weeks to go till his birthday. His confidence combined with his quickness of play makes him a great captain.

Ben ROBERTSON • ST • 39 APPS • 18 Y/O
The star of the team, Robertson is a great goalscorer, setting a name for himself in many nations close to Megistos. His quick and powerful foot is also very skillful, and he sometimes puts up a show of goals which could entertain anyone.

Wilson BLACKWELL • GK • 14 APPS • 16 Y/O
The new U-18 goalkeeper after Becks hit 19 years of age, Blackwell has been doing consistently well, well enough to secure a place in the starting 11. Blackwell tends to focus on positioning and cracking down on opposition's shot options, which means that he comes out a lot. It's dangerous, but he's almost always secure on it.

JOSEFF Quintero • RB • 5 APPS • 17 Y/O
Joseff is a player great suited for free kicks and assisting moments. Blessed with a delicate yet sturdy and strong foot, Joseff is also amazing in corners, which he likes to either curve them in the net or go over the keepers head and cause chaos.

Alberto CALIBER • RM • 3 APPS • 17 Y/O
A quick but strong player, Caliber sets a goal for himself. The quick and strong Charonian will be looking to impress teams who are in a race for him in the Liga Interstellar.

*Due to the spread of Mieca0 in Megistos, we will only allow 3 subs.

Al Qurija National Team

Information about Al Qurija:
Capital: Al Qurija
Population: 18,856,627
Demonym: Qurijan
Country Code: QRJ
Football Association: QFF (Qurijan Football Federation)
Nicknames: The broken, the secret champs
Football philosophy: A majority Arabic, yet very multicultural nation and an important trading outpost throught history, it has seen many people and influences from all around Sonnel and the multiverse. With a lot of Juven immigrants, their style of play has been inspired by the older style of Juven football which focuses on a concrete defence and an effective attack instead of bombarding the opposing side with chances. But with the local Slavic, Guarani as well as Korean minorities giving their own touch to the game, Al Qurija has a flavor of football that's pretty much unprecedented by most sides and it worked wonders in their Baptism of Fire campaign. (On which they finished 4th!)
Tactics this world cup: The team hasn't participated in a world cup qualification campaign in a long time, however it has come to the federation's attention that the national team held the title of unofficial world champion and what is most ingrained in Qurijan philosophy is that anything that is defensible can and should be defended for the sake of continuation. A balanced 4-3-3 composition will be utilised, with an emphasis towards keeping the goal as safe as possible from opposing attempts and a possibility of using a strong yet effective attack in retaliation. Possession is valued a lot as well, so expect to see a frustrating passing game from the Qurijans. With all sorts of people groups in Al Qurija, the people have developed a sense of unity but also a sense of defensiveness, expect to agitate Qurijans easily and a lot of cussing and pushing from the players, as well other dirty tactics such as shirt-grabbing, ground-modifying in penalties and the sort. Under the guidance of former gli attaccanti coach Pau Porras as well as former international Fihr Muhammed Bousaid, the team is returning with a strong mentality and an even stronger will.

Starting XI:
GK:Mahmud Maksimovic(Age 26)(Internazionale Serone)
CB:Ayoub Najm(Age 21)(AC Herona)
CB:Stojko Popovski(Age 30)(Porcara FC)(Captain)
RB:Jun Abdulrashid(Age 34)(FC Demena)
LB:Fatin Al-Ghazzawi(Age 22)(Union Juven)
CM:Ghalib Mohammed(Age 26)(U.S Remeno)
RM:Abbas Gim(Age 27)(S.S.C Pacgliari)
LM:Zlatan Krstevski(Age 24)(USC Toro)(Second Captain)
RF:Seokjin Kang(Age 30)(AS Odiol Vorona)
LF:Yamandú Gonzalez(Age 20)(Picgliara Calcio)
CF:Modevideo Carpi(Age 23)(AC Serone)

Substitutions:
GK:Faraj Han(Age 23)(S.S.C Vilan)
GK:Qadir Ahmed(Age 21)(Herona Calcio)
CB:Mohammad Al-Wazir(Age 20)(FC Piluzzi)
RB:Ahmet Mufti(Age 25)(USC Toro)
LB:Kim Hoseok(Age 18)(FC Demena)
CM:Ibrahim Amjad(Age 26)(Internazionale Serone)
RM:Serafim Beziri(Age 29)(Herona Calcio)
LM:Shareef Karimi(Age 22)(Porcara FC)
RF:Ali Shaqiri(Age 21)(AC Herona)
LF:Nursultan Dimitrov(Age 24)(FC Tiscan)
CF:Ismail Nikolovski(Age 21)(Union Juven)

Roster comments: With the internationalisation of the Juven Campionato, a number of professional Qurijans now call a few of the teams in the league their home. Affected by the way the campionato is being played, they might try to immitate the different styles of most teams, with an emphasis on the classic brick wall and clinical finishing approach. Fast players do exist in the frontlines, with Gonzalez and Krstevski on the left side of the pitch, while the right side is more of a mediating side to calm down the playing of the team. Talented striker Modevideo Carpi will most likely be the one to try to finish most attempts at scoring a goal, with Gonzalez and Kang being supplementary goal scorers with a main focus on assisting him. On the backlines there's a sweet balance between youth and experience, with captain Popovski directing the brick wall depending on what attacks they face, while youthful and bulky Najm can be a wall on his own, the side defenders will use their athleticism to stop any incoming offensives from the side. Overall their experience on the Campionato should serve them well when facing competition in the world cup qualifiers. As for this return's focus, the team will focus on getting as high as possible in the table and possibly get invited for the Cup of Harmony for extra experience. Silverware is secondary for the time being as working as a team will get a lot more gravity.

Petro Mohammed Stadium(Capacity: 98,000)
Image

A state of the art stadium adorning the lavishly built beach area of the capital Al Qurija, Petro Mohammed is quite the spectacle. Its original purpose is to house national team football games as well as house several of the city's -surprisingly still- semi-professional league teams and the cup final. Petro Mohammed is an enormous stadium that provides all services and amenities for all visitors of the stadium, Qurijan or not. The Federal budget has made sure to cover up the costs of the numerous supermarkets, lounges and even permanent stands with numerous stand-owning chains. The atmosphere from inside the stadium is spectacular as the multiculturalism can be felt, from the indigenous arab-speaking people to the Slavic-languages speaking people, the Korean-speaking people, the Guarani-speaking people and Italian & French-speaking Juven all coming up with different chants and colors to fill up the stadium. With a lot of waving flags and different signs being commonplace, the place feels like a giant mural dedicated to Al Qurija, flares and Qurijan flag-colored smokes are also commonplace as is smoking different herbs in different sides of the stadium, however there's safe spots for visiting fans and families to make it as fun and accessible towards everyone.

I'd like to thank Filindostan for these kits!

Those carrying jersey numbers one to eleven are currently expected to start, but manager Renato Di Tane might change his mind along the road. After some years at the helm of Virtus Redoccio, with a title and a Coppa delle Stella on his scroll of honor, he got released over the off-season as the cycle of the squad seemed completed. Di Tane is known to remain in the background, potentially a bit too often to really impact at first sight.Yet, most who worked with him praise his man management, a crucial part in a national team. Tactically, he stands by a fairly cautious approach, even more considering the limited prowess of his squad at the international scene.

Despite its short, and some with even say non-existing, history, the San Ortelian team do can tell an adventure or two already. The main team warmed up through a series of three friendlies against Tikariot and Juvencus respectively, the latter being their foe in the Coppa Odiol. This tournament, sponsored by the ever-expanding shipping manufacturer with the same name, offered an opportunity for Di Tane to test the waters and explore the depth of his squad. Although the results were far more promising than anticipated, with two draws and a close defeat, there remain a few open questions about the line-up. For the international audience, the unexpected success in the Di Bradini Cup, edging out Græntfjall in a close final, might be the most notable result. At least, the San Ortelio Confederatione Calcio Extra-Regionale hopes that the San Ortelian title run will be remembered and not that the U21 manager assaulted three of his players in an attempted murder. Let's try and forget that, shall we? Nonetheless, it is no surprise that six players of that line-up have been added to the squad for the qualifiers although only one (Cappa) seems close to a starting spot.

Di Tane fields a 5-4-1 that is less defensive than it sounds in the first place - but only marginally. The spot between the stakes is for Enrico Lanzafame, a quiet force and a man with excellent reflexes who will be crucial in the destiny of this team. His position is undisputed, even if he can be caught out on a cross and is not exactly the most vocal one. With Evacuo, there is a proper back-up available when required whilst Pino probably made the squad for his capacity for joketelling rather than his footballing skills. His inclusion in the longlist over youngsters such as Burrai did not go down too well with everyone, one of the few cases where the selection from Di Tane got questioned, we must add.

The defensive compartment relies on a fairly limited list of options, but those included should be sufficient for a proper partnership. Salvatore Moscati, a widely respected veteran, should be the central man of this with Mazziero and Lucarelli by his side. All three do represent the same type: physically astute, tactically shrewd and with enough experience to outwit more talented opponents. Of them, Mazziero might be the best allrounder, whilst Moscati owns a better crosspass than he gets credited for and Lucarelli adds a bit of speed - but that is missing a bit in that static trio. At the moment, they keep upcoming talent Castorani on the bench but it will be a matter of time before this more modern but not flawless youngster nicks one of their spots. Wing defender, whilst important in the tactical ploy, is a bottleneck occupation but the two starters make the bar. Rota is short enough to have the 'the grass must tickle you in your armpits' jokes but he's got character and speeds back and forth without tiring. Luca Curiale will appear a bit less in attack but possesses a better tackle and positioning. The reserves for them are the energetic Moreschini and the fast Gagliano, two driving forces from the DBC squad.

Di Tane currently hopes that a midfield square, rather than a diamond, will work out. For some, this feels like an itchy compromise whilst others praise the balance. Confalonieri is reputed for taking no prisoners and can police a midfield whilst Di Masi possesses a better infiltration, ensuring some remarkably strong stats for a player in his position. Once more, the understudies here have been derived from the DBC squad in Quintarelli and Cappa, with the latter putting quite some pressure on Di Masi for the starting spot. The attack duo of the midfield is quite a pairing. Gianmarco Del Prete, often going by La Leggenda in the domestic press, is the posterboy of the selection with his free kicks and exceptional vision guiding ditto passes, but will have to share the limelight with a second attacking midfield. That could be Salvatori, a less flamboyant but more infiltrating version of the classical number ten, or the industrious and elegant Giacomo Favaro who comes of a strong domestic season. The bench contains a wild variety of players that allow to diversify tactically: young Sgarbi is, in a way, the sole winger although Agostinone can play any attacking midfield role. Buglia, on the other hand, is a genuine box-to-box who adds stamina to the line-up but also some assists, making him a better alternative to the relentless runner Bortolotto.

In theory, this leaves one sole spot for a striker, so many players needed to be disappointed: Pambianco (the Sportiva allrounder), Spadoni (a quality poacher) and Saligari (the architype of the targetman) among others. Still, no one will dispute that Carmine Garofalo can be the sole starter. Coming off a forty-goal season, this bulky forward scores from every angle and can really weigh in on a defense - although he's not used to flying sole, his connection with Del Prete should allow San Ortelio to score. The alternative, Canova, ain't halfbad either. Whilst not as powerful as his teammate, he is notorious for turning half a metre of space into a shot on goal. Further on the bench we find Dennis Spaviero who had a breakout season with double figures both domestically and on the DBC. Last but not least, there is Romeo Gozzi, an ace up the sleeve. Talented, a cannon in legs that are disguised by the moves of a dancer, but equally notorious for his goals as for falling out with any authority figure.

San Ortelio, your favorite pseudo-Italian, coastal microstate. Less than half a million inhabitants who stand for a rich culture, are governed
by an delicate yet marvellously balanced system and remain economically viable due to fishing and funky tax laws.
But enough about us. Come vai?

We're no international threat, so have our domestic thread.
Definitely check the invitation box in the OP if you want to get involved.

CHARTISTANI NATIONAL TEAM
Squad for the 74th Baptism of Fire

About Chartistan

The Musicalistic Union of the Cities of Chartistan (Often just Chartistan) is a nation in the region of Sonnel. The capital city, Billboard, is where most of the residents live and work, and is also home to the main governing jurisdiction of the country. Other major cities include Official City, Gaon and Aria.

About the National Team

The Chartistani national team picture varies from week to week as do the Chartistani... Charts. The Chartistani NT was decided by this week's Chartistani Hot Chart, a 100 player index of the top players in Chartistan, the Bubbling Under Hot Chart, a 25 player index of up and comers, and whatever other chart we could find.

The main Chartistani home kit is purple with blue accents, while the away kit is mostly black.

Manager: Doctor Lucas Combbrush
A Musicville district citizen of Chartistan's largest city Billboard, Doctor Combbrush has been inside and outside the game of football for the last couple of years as a player and a manager. After a Dusk Bracket performance in the Wonder Cup and a shocking Round of 16 exit from the Baptism of Fire, he will guide Chartistan out from embarrassment and into a new era of hopeful success.

SAVIGLIANE NATIONAL TEAM ROSTER
WORLD CUP 87

Savigliane’s international record in this new dimension was off to an incredibly rough start, but a new cycle and a new manager, ex-Galactico Tlanx-Nulzk, has unexpectedly brought them to the promised land in just their second cycle. Can high-octane, free-flowing Tlanxball succeed on the world's biggest stage, or will the Swans' dominant qualifiers run be exposed as a fluke? Some more information about Savigliane can be found in my first WCQ RP or my BoF RP line. Essentially, the nation has been teleported to the NS world from an IRL equivalent and is still working through the fallout of that event.

NICKNAME: The Swans / The Red and Blues
MANAGER: TLANX-NULZK Hal - 61 (Qusmo)
After taking a sabbatical to reexamine their priorities in the wake of Qusmo's collapse, Tlanx-Nulzk has returned — & they like to attack as much as ever. They posted some of the highest-scoring seasons in the history of Pug Qusmyra. Under their stewardship, Qastyr – coming from a nation that had never before advanced beyond the first preliminary round of the Champions' Cup – not only got to the Champions' Cup 72 group stage, but rode the highest-scoring attack in the group stage out of all thirty-two teams in the tournament to win a group featuring Spartangrad, Brinemouth, & Tanrisal, en route to a shock quarterfinals run. As a result, they came from nowhere to be named a surprise selection for KarlingSport Galacticos Manager of the Season. Admittedly, their back line hasn't always been a strong suit, but they are remarkably efficient at getting their midfielders & forwards in sync for ruthless attacks. They were noted at their last post, as Saltstead's national team manager, for a sense of humour, memorably playing along with The Beet's request that they be set on fire. Perhaps that belies their competitive spirit, but make no mistake: they're friendly, jovial, & fun to be around off the pitch; on it, they're nothing short of ruthless. (description written by Qusmo)

ASST. MANAGER: Natalia ROSSI - 43
GOALKEEPING COACH: VANZA-JERAT Gep - 34 (Qusmo)
STYLE MOD: +3.5
FORMATION: 4-3-3
Captain - Pietro Giraudo
Vice-Captain - Amara Vatrican
Penalty Takers (in order of preference) - Francesco Grimaldi, Amara Vatrican, Adrian Toscani, Isabella Coste, Bertrand Marchetti
Free Kick Taker - Adrian Toscani
Corner-Kick Taker - Bertrand Marchetti (L), Adrian Toscani (R)

RP PERMISSIONS: Anything non-godmod is fine, TG/DM me for permission to godmod. I determine the severity of injuries.
Made with love by uni·q · for the game that’s more than a game.
(OOC: thanks to Qusmo for making these!)

TACTICS
"TlanxBall", a dynamic 4-3-3 setup, promised - and immediately delivered - attractive results. In possession, the focus will be on retaining possession and moving the ball forward vertically, with Pietro Giraudo (formerly a center-back) redeployed as a deep-lying playmaker, and Vatrican and Toscani aggressively pushing forwards with the ball or using diagonal passes when they can. In build-up, Giraudo will drop back to form a triangle with the other center-backs, with Marchetti and Romano drifting in and out to serve as wide options to carry the ball up the flanks if necessary.

The aim while in possession will be to rapidly shift the ball forward before using quick interchanges and dynamic movement in the attacking third of the pitch. To aid this, the inside forwards (and occasionally the two midfielders, especially Toscani, who will have more of a free role) will wide and into the half-spaces to stretch the opposition defense before playing back through the center or switching play to the now-exposed opposite flank.

Defensively, Savigliane will play a relatively high line, aiming to compress the opposition's build-up toward the sidelines and pressing immediately after losing the ball. The Swans will rely on the pace and tactical instincts of their back four to cover what is a pretty attack-minded "front six", especially since Marchetti and Romano will both be pushing forward if necessary to maintain dynamism in possession.

Tlanx-Nulzk’s system has taken significant adjustment to work with the Swans - although, with a dominant qualifying record, the results are undeniable. The free-flowing nature of the attack, however, combined with the defenders’ relative lack of experience in the system against stronger opposition, means that the team may struggle to keep their opponents out of goal this cycle. However, they’ll more than make up for it with dynamic, fast-paced, free-flowing attacking play that could make them one of neutrals’ more favored teams this Cup.

Score a Goal - Francesco Grimaldi, Isabella Coste, Adrian Toscani
Score from Distance - Amara Vatrican, Adrian Toscani, Bertrand Marchetti
Assist a Goal - Isabella Coste, Adrian Toscani, Bertrand Marchetti
Score off a Header - Francesco Grimaldi, Thea Squarciafichi, Pietro Giraudo
Win a Free Kick/Penalty - Isabella Coste, Amara Vatrican, Adrian Toscani

RETIRED NUMBERS

#08 - Bianca FIORE - CM
#20 - Raphael ROVIRA - FW
#25 - Sofia PLAISANCE - FW

While Savigliane does not traditionally retire numbers, the loss of three national team players to the event that brought Savigliane into the NSS dimension has been commemorated by suspending usage of their numbers until further notice. Especially sacrosanct is Bianca Fiore's #8 - the former captain and bedrock of the Swans, Fiore brought Savigliane back to the World Cup until her abrupt disappearance, and she is presumed stranded or dead.

GOALKEEPERS

#23 - Nicodemo D’AMBROSIO - 25 - AFC Mayville (EUR)
#01 - Camillo NOTARI (C) - 33 - AC Acqui Bollente
#12 - Nicolas DuCASSE - 25 - Stade-Ferre Trinité

D’Ambrosio has been one of the breakout stars of post-Event Savigliane, going from backup to Golden Glove winner to Mayville starter and NT star. He’s still inexperienced, but an incredibly athletic shot-stopper with inconsistent but strong distribution. Former starter Notari is a commanding aerial presence, a penalty-kick specialist, and a solid all-around shot-stopper. If he does have a weakness, it’s that he’s a little shaky with distribution, although this has generally been covered by the center-backs’ abilities on the ball. Meanwhile, Stade-Ferre’s DuCasse is a much stronger and more consistent distributor, although his highs aren’t quite as high as D’Ambrosio, and he’s a relatively weak shot-stopper at this level.

DEFENDERS

#04 - LB - Bertrand MARCHETTI - 28 - Tikariot City FC (TKT)
#02 - CB - Adélaïde GARCIA - 25 - AS Villeneuve
#03 - CB - Chiara BLANCO - 22 - Kyethas Rivermen (TKT)
#11 - RB/RM - Giovanna VITALE - 26 - Dynamo Sjoedrhavn (SVJ)

#34 - LB/RB - Margherita ROMANO - 26 - Sporting Jaglan (SRS)
#13 - CB/RB - Rémy LeCLERC - 22 - Stade-Ferre Trinité
#24 - CB/CDM - Gianmarco DUTTO - 23 - Rozelle Alliance (BRE)
#15 - RB - Amalia FLORENZI - 26 - Corvette Maulers (NPH)

Marchetti may not be the flashiest player on the team, but his endurance, pace, and keen sense of positioning make him absolutely essential to Savigliane’s tactical setup. An excellent passer, Marchetti is capable of making key offensive contributions (although he doesn’t push up as zealously as his counterpart, Vitale), but seemingly is always able to get back in time to disrupt counterattacks or fall back on defense. Blanco, replacing the aging fan favorite Efisio Moreau, will serve as the brawn to Giraudo’s brain - quick, aerially adept, and hard-working, she was one of Lega 2's best-kept secrets until her move abroad. Meanwhile, Garcia is the quickest of the back line - while still occasionally prone to mistakes while on the ball, her athleticism and man-marking capabilities make her a valuable, versatile asset to the national team. Finally, Vitale is more explosive than the rest of the fullbacks, and her crossing and shooting ability make her more of a direct threat when attacking. A converted winger, she’s not particularly good tracking back, although her athleticism gets her some of the way there. She's capable of playing in a number of different positions on the right flank, and will be more at home in this newly attack-minded formation.

The versatile Romano is a fiery leader known for her persistence, defensive workrate, and poise with the ball, although she’s much less of an attacking threat than Marchetti on the left or Vitale on the right. Young LeClerc is sharp, athletic, and versatile (serving as both a center-back and right-back for Trinité), but not polished enough with the ball to earn a starting spot yet. Gianmarco Dutto is a strong but slow-footed center-back whose biggest strength is his ability to distribute from the back - it’s early, for sure, but he’s already being tipped as a potential successor to ball-playing center-back Pietro Giraudo. Florenzi is a quick, diminutive wingback with a knack for crossing, who lies somewhat between the defensive Romano and the kamikaze Vitale on the wingback scale.

MIDFIELDERS

#06 - CM - Amara VATRICAN - 29 - AC Acqui Bolente
#05 - CDM/CB - Pietro GIRAUDO - 32 - AC Acqui Bollente
#10 - CM/AM - Adrian TOSCANI - 23 - Cazadores Cathair (AUD)

#17 - CM - Nathaniel AUVERGNE - 22 - Hofvinger (GRF)
#19 - DM - Augustin DIRAC - 25 - Barossia United (NPH)
#80 - CM - Sébastien PETIT - 30 - CSKA Quebec (QUE)

Giraudo is the real gem in a very skilled trio of defenders, with enough skill to be redeployed by this new system as a deep-lying playmaker. His skill on the ball and ability to make accurate long passes makes him a vital cog in Savigliane’s offense. He’s also a solid defender in his own right - although not particularly athletic, his positioning and tactical acumen are remarkable. Vatrican is a dynamic, box-to-box midfielder, with her excellent dribbling enabling her to make driving runs toward the box, and her accurate - if not particularly creative - passing helping the team advance up the pitch. Toscani is a technically gifted young midfielder who, despite not being particularly athletic, has already impressed in his short time at Porto Vecchio, earning himself a transfer to Caza in the process. He’s capable of playing as a center-midfielder, an attacking-midfielder, or, thanks to his surprisingly good crossing ability, on the wing.

Auvergne, who’s excelled at Hofvinger this season, is a young talent whose creativity and physicality make him an incredible prospect despite his lack of speed. Dirac is used as more of a holding midfielder for his club, but while his positional awareness and ball-playing skills are excellent for a midfielder of his age, he’s prone to being pushed off the ball and can easily disappear during matches against more physical sides. Finally, Petit is a hard-working box-to-box midfielder on the field, known for his versatility and energy. Off the field, he doesn’t have the best of reputations, which is probably why he didn’t originally make the final cut despite his talent.

FORWARDS

#07 - Isabella COSTE - 26 - Dury FC (PFA)
#09 - Francesco GRIMALDI - 33 - Nazionale Acqui Bollente
#21 - Michael DURAND - 32 - Stade-Ferre Trinité

#18 - Thea SQUARCIAFICHI - 22 -Traktor St. Andrei (SVJ)
#22 - Zoë BARTHELEMY - 25 - Levis Athletic (QUE)
#30 - Calliope MONTEVECCHI - 26 - Eiovra Athletic FC (TKT)

Grimaldi is a strong, physical presence in the box with a propensity for headers. While still athletic enough to get by in this system, he’s definitely lost a step, and he looks for his own shot a little too much. Coste is the opposite - end product and strength are the only things she lacks, while her speed and dribbling ability make her a constant threat to set up her teammates. Durand is more of a support striker, adept at both scoring and creating and most at home in a more fluid front three.

Squarciafichi, while still unpolished, is a deadly finisher. Although a solid dribbler, her best runs are off the ball, and her passing is definitely a work in progress. Barthelemy is more of a natural winger, although she’s ambidextrous and versatile enough to play on either wing. Her greatest assets are her energy, pace and dribbling, but she’s a little lacking in end product. Montevecchi is a surprisingly good playmaker for a winger, and has flirted with an attacking-midfield role. Nevertheless, her biggest asset is her pace and ability to cut inside into dangerous positions, while her weakness is her inability to contribute on the defensive end.

Qualifiers Roster:
SAVIGLIANE NATIONAL TEAM ROSTER
WCQ 87

Savigliane’s international record in this new dimension is off to an incredibly rough start. After a promising group stage campaign at the Baptism of Fire where the Swans conceded just two goals in five matches, Glazgo put four past Savigliane in a disastrous Round of 16 match. A trying World Cup qualification campaign then cost manager Laurent Chambéry his job as Savigliane finished a distant sixth in their group with just twenty points in eighteen matches. After a disappointing debut for new manager Edward Hernandez at the Cup of Harmony, the Swans at least managed to make the play-in round at the AOCAF, but were ultimately sent home empty-handed. Now, a new cycle brings new opportunities for the team - as well as a new manager, ex-Galactico Tlanx-Nulzk. Some more information about Savigliane can be found in my first WCQ RP or my BoF RP line. Essentially, the nation has been teleported to the NS world from an IRL equivalent and is still working through the fallout of that event.

TACTICS

First choice lineup

Under Edward Hernandez, the previous manager of the Savigliane NT, the Swans played an incredibly defensive style, favoring disciplined build-up play and long balls. While the style was surprisingly effective, getting Savigliane to the Cup of Harmony and the AOCAF playoffs, Savigliane were found wanting on the attack a few too many times, and with winning now no longer a major priority, the FA have opted to pursue a longer rebuilding process with a focus on a more attractive style of play. With that, out goes Hernandez, and in comes what the press have begun referring to as "TlanxBall", a dynamic 4-3-3 setup which will take a while to adjust to but promises much more attractive results.

To aid this, the wingers (and occasionally the two midfielders, especially Toscani, who will have more of a free role) drifting wide and into the half-spaces to stretch the opposition defense before playing back through the center or switching play to the now-exposed opposite flank.

As a result, Tlanx-Nulzk's system will take significant adjustment, both due to the free-flowing nature of the attack itself as well as the attacking focus of the system in general. However, the former Galactico has promised big results once the Swans do manage to adapt, and the FA is more than happy to trust them.

RETIRED NUMBERS

#08 - Bianca FIORE - CM
#20 - Raphael ROVIRA - FW
#22 - Sofia PLAISANCE - FW

While Savigliane does not traditionally retire numbers, the loss of three national team players to the event that brought Savigliane into the NSS dimension has been commemorated by suspending usage of their numbers until further notice. Especially sacrosanct is Bianca Fiore's #8 - the former captain and bedrock of the Swans, Fiore brought Savigliane back to the World Cup until her abrupt disappearance, and she is presumed stranded or dead.

GOALKEEPERS

#01 - Camillo NOTARI (C) - 33 - AC Acqui Bollente
#12 - Charlotte FASANO - 28 - Gallant Cross (BRE)
#23 - Nicodemo D’AMBROSIO - 25 - AFC Mayville (EUR)

Notari is a commanding aerial presence, a penalty-kick specialist, and a solid all-around shot-stopper. If he does have a weakness, it’s that he’s a little shaky with distribution, although this has generally been covered by the center-backs’ abilities on the ball. Fasano is a younger, worse version of Notari whose main strength is her agility, while Nico D’Ambrosio is inexperienced (although he won a Golden Gloves award in his first season starting), but an incredibly athletic shot-stopper with occasionally-excellent distribution.

DEFENDERS

#04 - Bertrand MARCHETTI - 28 - Tikariot City FC (TKT)
#02 - Adélaïde GARCIA - 25 - AS Villeneuve
#03 - Chiara BLANCO - 22 - Kyethas Rivermen (TKT)
#34 - Margherita ROMANO - 26 - Sporting Jaglan (SRS)

#11 - Giovanna VITALE - 26 - Dynamo Sjoedrhavn (SVJ)
#13 - Rémy LeCLERC - 22 - Stade-Ferre Trinité
#24 - Gianmarco DUTTO - 23 - Rozelle Alliance (BRE)
#15 - Amalia FLORENZI - 26 - Corvette Maulers (NPH)

Finally, Romano is a fiery leader known for her persistence, defensive workrate, and poise with the ball, although she’s much less of an attacking threat than Marchetti on her left or Vitale on the bench.

Florenzi is a quick, diminutive wingback with a knack for crossing, who lies somewhat between the defensive Dutto and the kamikaze Vitale on the wingback scale. Vitale is more explosive than either of the first-choice wingbacks, and her crossing and shooting ability make her more of a direct threat when attacking. A converted winger, she’s not particularly good tracking back, although her athleticism gets her some of the way there. She's capable of playing in a number of different positions on the right flank, and will be more at home in this newly attack-minded formation.

MIDFIELDERS

#06 - Amara VATRICAN - 29 - AC Acqui Bolente
#05 - Pietro GIRAUDO - 32 - AC Acqui Bollente
#10 - Adrian TOSCANI - 23 - Cazadores Cathair (AUD)

#17 - Nathaniel AUVERGNE - 22 - Hofvinger (GRF)
#19 - Augustin DIRAC - 25 - Barossia United (NPH)
#80 - Sébastien PETIT - 30 - CSKA Quebec (QUE)

Giraudo is the real gem in a very skilled trio of defenders, with enough skill to be redeployed by this new system as a deep-lying playmaker. His skill on the ball and ability to make accurate long passes makes him a vital cog in Savigliane’s offense. He’s also a solid defender in his own right - although not particularly athletic, his positioning and tactical acumen are remarkable. Vatrican is the more adventurous of the two center-midfielders, with her excellent dribbling enabling her to make driving runs toward the box, and her accurate - if not particularly creative - passing helping the team advance up the pitch.

The tall, lithe, and technically sound Solari impressed despite San Ludovico’s relegation, earning him a transfer to Esportiva’s Sophie City Royals.

FORWARDS

#07 - Isabella COSTE - 26 - AS Villeneuve
#09 - Francesco GRIMALDI - 33 - Nazionale Acqui Bollente
#22 - Zoë BARTHELEMY - 25 - Levis Athletic (QUE)

#18 - Thea SQUARCIAFICHI - 22 -Traktor St. Andrei (SVJ)
#21 - Michael DURAND - 32 - Stade-Ferre Trinité
#30 - Calliope MONTEVECCHI - 26 - Eiovra Athletic FC (TKT)

Grimaldi is a strong, physical presence in the box with a propensity for headers. While still athletic enough to get by in this system, he’s definitely lost a step, and he looks for his own shot a little too much. Coste is the opposite - end product and strength are the only things she lacks, while her speed and dribbling ability make her a constant threat to set up her teammates. Barthelemy is more of a natural winger, although she’s ambidextrous and versatile enough to play on either wing. Her greatest assets are her energy, pace and dribbling, but she’s a little lacking in end product.

Squarciafichi, while still unpolished, is a deadly finisher. Although a solid dribbler, her best runs are off the ball, and her passing is definitely a work in progress. Durand is more of a support striker, adept at both scoring and creating and most at home in a more fluid front three. Montevecchi is a surprisingly good playmaker for a winger, and has flirted with an attacking-midfield role. Nevertheless, her biggest asset is her pace and ability to cut inside into dangerous positions, while her weakness is her inability to contribute on the defensive end.

PEMECUTAN FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION
ASOSIASI SEPAKBOLA PEMECUTAN / PARISADA SEPAKBOLA PEMECUTAN

The Nation
Pemecutan or officially United Kingdom of Pemecutan is a mid-size country that located in the central part of Melayu Archipelago with a land are around 30,000 km2 and a population of 12.6 millions. Football have been one of the most popular sports in the country. The sport was introduced by British when the country was under their administration. Pemecutan itself was not established until 1966 when Giri Federation was merge with State of Kanginan. Pemecutan Football Association (PFA) was then established in 1968 by merging Giri Football Association and Kanginan Association of Football. Although their status are deemed equal under PFA, but the reality was different. PFA was only recognized Giri's football league as their clubs are considered more professional than that of Kanginan. This situation makes Kanginan's clubs were being left behind. The change is made in late 2019 as PFA decided to give Kanginan's clubs a chance. The previous PFA Eka League and the lower leagues are being merge with KAF Surya League to create Kasa League, the new Pemecutan top level domestic league. The 1780 Kasa League is the inaugural season of the new league with Pesetih Titih as the champion. Kanginan's club, Parsewi Mengwi is manage at fourth position, giving their a place in IFCF and CMFA competition.

At national level, Pemecutan joined their international competition at 3rd Melayu Archipelago Cup. In their first competition, they were managed to finished as semifinalist. They continued to go through final four in the next 3 editions. Their latest submission at 6th Melayu Archipelago Cup give them the runner up title. In international stage, they were entering 73rd Baptism of Fire where they were stuck in the Group Stage. They were also only finished in the Group Stage of 86th World Cup. Their luck is better in Games of XIV Olympiad, where they were losing up in Round of 16.

For the Midfielder, there are only 2 new faces that being called by Coach Pramana. They are Dian Agung Purnama (Pesebal Balun) and Riko Ferdian (Pesetilan Petilan). A major change that being made by the coach is the swap of Rama Karyadi and Agus Setiahadi. Wisnu Pramana as Kasa League top scorer is being re-called. But now, he is being starting line up replacing Pandu Oka Wijaya. Pemecutan national top scorer, Pandu Oka Jaya is being put as reserved after Eraman doesn't release their domestic league result. So it is difficult for Coach Pramana to monitored his performance.

THE PEOPLE'S FEDERATION OF YUEZHOU - NATIONAL FOOTBALL TEAM
月州人民联邦 - 国际足球队

Yuezhou, after a long period of inactivity, have risen back to relevance under the watch of Yuan Zilai. Despite the ongoing civil war taking up most of the country's bandwidth, the Red Dragons have ridden Yuan's tactics, as well as a new generation of talented players, back to relevance, twice making the Copa Rushmori knockouts and coming within a point of qualifying for the World Cup playoffs last cycle. While the situation at home continues to worsen, Yuan's team will hope to hold things together long enough to pull together another strong run.

Manager: Lu Jialan
Assistant Manager: None [left vacant since the Alba and Cymru Incident]
Nickname: The Red Dragons
Formation: 4-2-3-1
Style Modifier: -1.5
First-Choice Lineup
Tactics:
Yuan Zilai, like many previous Yue coaches, has opted to play a more defensive style. However, Yue players are not strong enough aerially or good enough at defending long balls to just park the bus. In order to compensate, Yuan has opted to emphasize an aggressive midfield press. Yuezhou will aim to heavily cover the center of the field, with Gu (a central midfielder by trade) more than willing to tuck in and all of the attackers willing to drop back. They’ll then use the cover of their relatively-conservative back four (which can become a back five when Guo Xiawei drops back, which is fairly often) to aggressively try to win the ball back. They’ve become especially good at swarming creative attackers, taking players like Brady Reynolds completely out of games in past matches.

With the ball, the Red Dragons play a fast-paced, counter-attacking style, aiming to rapidly advance the ball up the field and fluidly exploit spaces with constant running and one-touch passes. Liu Huiying, normally a support striker, and Gu Zhalei, normally a central midfielder, are slightly out of place deployed on the flanks, and Yuan Zilai may struggle to find sources of width. However, Liu, Wen, Gu, and Huang are all versatile attackers quick enough to pose danger on the counterattack, which is where Yuezhou will get most of their goals. Yuezhou tends to do much better when they score first, but struggle to break down opposing defenses when trailing.

STARTERS

#01 - GK - RUO Xiaolan (罗小兰) (f) - 36 - Cypher Town (NPH)
A very athletic goalkeeper - as well as, after helping Cypher Town secure promotion to Nephara's top flight, the first female player on the national team. She’s a high-flying shot-stopper who, despite some rawness, came into her own as a keeper in the Nepharim Premiership - the first professional league she played in. At thirty-six years old, she’s lost some of her athleticism, but compensates for this with her experience and better feel for goalkeeping, especially on set pieces, where she has upgraded from “terrible” to “below-average”.
#02 - LB - KANG Enlai (康恩来) - 26 - Corvette Maulers (NPH)
The most ambitious of the full-backs on the roster, Kang is the best source of width on the team (although that probably says more about the team than it does about Kang). Strong athleticism and crossing ability, although he is a bit one-dimensional on the attack.
#03 - CB - REN Fang (任方) - 29 - Hamiltonian Cambria (KSK)
A strong, disciplined defender who's at his best in the air. Athletic and very versatile, Ren’s only weakness is that he tends to just hoof it whenever he wins a ball back.
#05 - CB - HAN Jian (韩建) - 31 - Letson Town (ETN)
Cautious and disciplined, the experienced Han Jian is the de facto leader of the back line for both club and country. Incredibly solid, but like Ren, has little skill on the ball.
#15 - RB/CB - ZHU Aiguo (朱爱国) - 25 - Iturributa United (ASG)
An aggressive, versatile defender who likes to win balls and push forward with them. A center-back by trade, Zhu unexpectedly became Yuezhou's starting right-back in matches where Yuan Zilai needed a more attacking presence on the flanks - his emergence at the position has earned him a transfer to Astograth as well as a starting spot.
#06 - CB/CDM - GUO Xiawei (郭夏伟) - 26 - Tanques AOE (KOR)
Formerly a makeshift libero in a back three, Guo Xiawei has been redeployed as a defensive midfielder. One of the first of his generation of Yue players to sign abroad, for since-relegated Ko-orenite side Tanques AOE, Guo has flashes of brilliance with the ball and is very good at reading and intercepting passes, but tends to make unforced errors on defense too often to be trusted unless in a back three.
#07 - CDM - YANG Tao (杨道) - 26 - Fagli Cinquanta (SOR)
Energetic but not particularly skilled, Yang will be tasked with pressing aggressively, winning balls back before passing them to someone more creative, and kicking opponents to stop attacks.
#10 - LAM/ST - LIU Huiying (f) (刘辉映) - 24 - Iron City (NPH)
Liu’s speed and devastating passing ability make her one to watch with every counterattack. Her high workrate, even on the defensive end, should theoretically make her a good candidate to slot into attacking-midfield - but a striker by trade, there’s no telling how the Tractor Club star will actually do.
#18 - CAM - WEN Xiaohui (f) (文小辉) - 22 - CASK Thorsborg (SVJ)
Wen Xiaohui, the niece of controversial star midfielder Wen Xiaoli, could be Yuezhou’s next big thing. She’s fairly raw and not a great tactical fit, but her pace and playmaking more than merit her inclusion in the first-choice starting eleven, to the point where Yuan Zilai redid his tactical setup to include her.
#08 - RAM/CM - GU Zhalei (顾炸雷) (C) - 32 - Archbishop FC (NOV)
Gu Zhalei is an energetic presser, an accurate (if not very creative) passer, and the heart of the Red Dragons’ tactical setup. He’s not particularly used to his new role on the right, but his time abroad in Nova Anglicana has allowed him to shine more as a creative threat, as well as a long-range threat on a good day.
#09 - ST - HUANG Shedong (黄舍东) - 26 - Stahlberg Rovers (NPH)
While not particularly good at hold-up play or in the air, Huang's blazing speed and technique mean he excels at exploiting gaps in the opponents' defense with his dribbling and short passes. A strong finisher, but relatively unproven leading a line by himself.

RESERVES

#12 - GK - WANG Bo - 27 - Yincheng Capitals
A polished shot-stopper with strong leadership abilities who was rewarded for his efforts with a Golden Gloves award two years ago. Earned a big-money (by Yue standards, at least) move to Yincheng this transfer window.
#23 - GK - GUO Yanhong - 26 - Dhun Lagarr FC (TKT)
A modern sweeper-keeper and competent shot-stopper who is aggressive to a fault, but who had an incredible season in Tikariot to earn a call-up.
#13 - RB - Diadora REEVE (f) - 24 - North Sabrefell (NPH)
Diadora Reeve is an athletic, relatively attack-minded fullback who provides an interesting tactical option for Yuezhou in place of Zhu Aiguo. We think she had a Yue grandfather or something, which is why she's turned up on the Yue national team despite everyone previously thinking she was Nepharim.
#14 - LB - JIAWEI Chuan (f) - 24 - Omnio (CMT)
A quick, crafty full-back (or wing-back, or even winger if Yuezhou are really parking the bus) whose biggest weakness is a propensity to get forced off the ball.
#16 - CB - ZHU Mingxia - 22 - Fábrica Tapalupé (TEQ)
A strong, aerially imposing center-back who has no idea what to do with possession. Showed enough promise in Tequilo, albeit as a rotational option, to earn a shot, although that might say more about Yuezhou’s center-back depth than anything else.
#25 - CB - YAO Wenyan - 23 - Olympic Nangang
A left-footed center back who can play left-back in a pinch (for instance, if Yuan Zilai really wants to park the bus), Yao is a quick, intelligent defender capable of making surging runs into midfield.
#11 - CM - CHEN Xiwei - 29 - Yincheng Capitals
Energetic but not particularly skilled, Chen is a slightly more attack-minded option in the pivot who nevertheless mostly just kicks people and wins the ball back.
#17 - CM - LI Keqiang - 25 - Vantanoch FC (TKT)
An absolute wall of muscle, Li Keqiang's combination of pace and physicality make him a tough player to get past. Has proven surprisingly effective as a goal-scorer in Tikariot.
#19 - CM/AM - LI Jing - 26 - Steinaux (GRF)
The young Li Jing is very quick and best on the counterattack, but may lack the discipline to adhere to Yuan’s pressing style.
#20 - AM - TAO Beiliang - 22 - Korsbach (GRF)
A relentless source of energy, aggression, and creativity, Tao is still pretty inconsistent, but is a great student of the game and could be starting for the Red Dragons in a few years.
#21 - ST - YU Wei - 33 - FC Rüsselheim (SNL)
The experienced Yu Wei is a strong aerial presence and decent finisher. If Huang Shedong proves wanting without a support striker, Yu will be the first to come in.
#22 - ST/RW - LUO Dan - 23 - Beian Rovers
A more mobile forward who can deputize capably on either wing if Yuezhou are chasing goals, Luo is a dangerous scorer known for his quick-burst runs behind the defense. Can be a little selfish at times.

Nation Name: The Galactic Empire of Kohnhead
Shorter Name: Kohnhead
Nation Trigramme: KND
Record: 46-19-30 (W-D-L)
WCC Record: 28-13-21 (W-D-L)
Inaugural Match: Kohnhead 2 - 2 Riena
Biggest Win: Orion Islands 1 - 4 Kohnhead
Biggest Loss: Geektopia 6 - 2 Kohnhead
Achievements: First Place at the 2nd Wonder Cup, Round of 16 at the 72nd Baptism of Fire, 5th place in group 2 of WC85 qualfiers, Round of 16 at the 77th Cup of Harmony, Round of 16 at the 10th IAC, Round of 32 at the 78th Cup of Harmony, Round of 24 at the 11th IAC
Top Scorer: Aaron Korkson (44)
Most Assists: Linus Rallyton (26)
Most Caps: Charles Laker (94)

Team Info: The Brains surpassed all expectations and turned many heads at their original attempt at qualifying as we came in 6th in our group but that doesn't tell the whole story. We were in it until the second to last match where Drawkland eliminated us by winning 5-4. We have also impressed in virtually every other competition we have been in except for last qualifiers where we did extremely poorly (but don't talk about it). The Michael White era has started off pretty well for Kohnhead with good results at the Twicetagria Football Invitational, however subpar results at the 11th IAC have many wondering if we can truly mount a challenge in these qualifiers. Michael White is on a short leash and will be changing the formation to reflect that to a 4-4-2 away from the failed 4-3-1-2.

The official roster of the KNFT consists of the following players for the Independent Associations Championship. It has players from the KFA (Kohnhead Football Association), as well as some who play on teams abroad.

Starting XI
(C) Right Forward: Aaron Korkson #91 (M) Age: 25 Team: Kohnhead City FC
Caps: 89 Goals: 44 Assists: 22
The 25 year old captain played very well at the Baptism of Fire before their loss in the round of 16. He also was one of the main reasons they were able to do so well in the World Cup 85 qualifiers. He's a strong leader and is able to score goals pretty easily. He and Maltos are the stars on Kohnhead City FC and on national team. He will be entering his prime soon and leads the squad in goals by a large amount. He did poorly during last qualifying and if we want to get back to our peak he needs to play well.

Left Forward: Erin Maltos #10 (F) Age: 25 Team: Kohnhead City FC
Caps: 89 Goals: 34 Assists: 19
Erin Maltos is very good. While Korkson may have 13 more goals, the impact she has on the game when she's plays cannot be understated and although there are times and there are some games where she may disappear into the shadow of other stars, she has the best footwork on the team and a deadly shot. She like Korkson will be reaching her prime soon and it will be good to see.

Right Midfielder: Ida Cogginter #41 (F) Age: 30 Team: Kohnhead City FC
Caps: 71 Goals: 12 Assists: 13
Two years ago before our BOF many thought Audrey Henderson the then young 21 year old would have her spot. Cogginter proved those doubters wrong and had a fantastic tournament. She really is a big part in the flow of the offense and has great skills as a passer. Cogginter plays second fiddle on Kohnhead City to Korkson and Maltos but she really played well in the BOF and some claim her injury was the reason Kohnhead didn't make it to the quarters. Despite her injury troubles in the qualifiers for World Cup 85 she has returned as good as ever in the Cup of Harmony and in the IAC. It was a bold move to give her the starting spot originally and it was a bold move to give it back to her upon her return to injury but she has deserved it both times. More questions surround her as she reaches 30 and with lots of competition in the midfield it seems unlikely she will keep this spot for much longer although one should never doubt her.

Central Midfielder: Sophie Johnson #7 (F) Age: 21 Team: Kohnhead City FC
Caps: 17 Goals: 3 Assists: 2
While Sophie Johnson was buried on the depth chart at the Cup of Harmony a great run of form in the KFA Premier League scoring five goals for second place Kohnhead City FC as well as Michael White's approval during training earned her this spot away from Audrey Henderson. It was bold move however so if she fails to play well she will lose her starting spot to one of the three main mids on the bench in Barter, Torgan, or Henderson. This team prides themselves on their midfield depth and this shows it.

Central Midfielder: Linus Rallyton #11 (M) Age: 27 Team: FC Yassaca (Squornshelean Remnant States)
Caps: 88 Goals: 14 Assists: 26
It didn't take long for Linus Rallyton to show that he was the best player in Kohnhead and it happened during our Baptism of Fire as he looked dominant. He is our all time leader in assists with 26 and he controls the game from the center of the field as that guy. Last offseason he completed a massive move to FC Yassaca in the Squornshelan Remnant States and they finished in second place after failing to get a victory in their final match which would have sealed it. Despite this it was a great season being named the second best signing, the fourth best midfielder, and the fourth best foreign player.

Left Midfielder: Charles Laker #54 (M) Age: 22 Team: Barnley FC
Caps: 94 Goals: 20 Assists: 15
In the two years since our Baptism of Fire we have seen the emergence of Charles Laker on the left side of this midfield. His talent, skills, and maturity level have grown exponentially and he will keep getting better in the years ahead. Laker is the only player to have played (he has started them all) in every single game in Kohnhead's brief history, and he has played every minute of every game showing just how much of an ironman he has been. The one good thing to come out of qualifiers was Laker ascending to a superstar and possibly overtaking Rallyton in terms of skill despite a poor recent season with Barnley. Laker should be the first one to 100 caps as he sits at 94 and will do it early during qualifying barring injury.

Right Back: Taylor Rodar #15 (F) Age: 22 Team: New Capetown Falcons (Taeshan)
Caps: 20 Goals: 1 Assists: 0
Rodar after leaving Bingham City was called up to the National team as possibly the second center back off of the bench behind Porsha. Rodar didn't play too well at the DBC and Bingham City were awful during their relegation year however she was given a shot at the Cup of Harmony and played well, Michael White really likes her skill set. She currently is the starter at right back for Taeshan side New Capetown Falcons who just came in third of that higher level league.

Center Back: Miranda Atkinson #51 (F) Age: 21 Barnley FC
Caps: 78 Goals: 2 Assists: 5
Miranda Atkinson has been the second best player on the defense since she became a starter midway through the Baptism of Fire, two years ago. Since then she has improved, just reached, 20, and not to mention won the MVP with Barnley FC in season 1 of the KFA. She like a lot of this team has her best days ahead of her and will be the starter for a long time.

Center Back: Claire Corton #24 (F) Age: 28 Team: Swisston City FC
Caps: 70 Goals: 2 Assists: 4
Corton had a rough start to the BoF, with some saying her and Vargas were the major problem with the team. She stepped it up a bit later in the tournament but overall had a rough BOF. Since then she has been a real redemption story playing extremely well, a lot better than when Callie Porsha had to step in as her replacement. Corton is still in the prime of her career, but she was injured midway through last 85's qualifiers causing her to miss the entire Cup of Harmony. She really has put those questions behind her and has been very solid in the back but will have to keep looking over her shoulder if she wants to keep this spot.

Left Back: Nicholas Radison #14 (M) Age: 26 Team: Port Tacassam FC (Tikariot)
Caps: 93 Goals: 6 Assists: 5
Radison has been the best defender by far. He has the pace to run up and down the wings which is something you always look for in a wing back. Radison has consistently been the lone saving grace of the defense but now the defense is much improved which will take the burden off of his back especially with the emergence of Atkinson, from Claire Corton. Radison is just entering his prime at age 25. He has also been asked to play more of a role in the offense with his speed down the wings. Last offseason he completed a transfer from FC Kohnface City to Tikariotan side Port Tacassam FC
who are surprisingly in a title race sitting in second with just three matches left that Radison has played a part in with three goals and great contributions to the second best defensive team (only one goal out of first).

Goalkeeper: Bertha Sanders #1 Age: 23 (F) Team: Philtront Pioneers
Caps: 43 Goals: 0 Assists: 0
After starting for Kohnhead at the most recent U-21 World Cup/DBC, Sanders in a surprise move was named the National Team starter over Madison Richards for the IAC. Richards continued to be on the bench as Sanders who looked good at the DBC took over for the legend that was Jackson Newcastle. Newcastle has also returned to and will be a member of the coaching staff and will especially be helping Sanders. It appears as if Coach Kohnhead made another smart move as she looked great at the IAC and could be the starter for the next 15 years. Qualifiers were more difficult for her but she should bounce back here at the CoH. White is keeping her as the starter after a good Cup of Harmony, and IAC. Sanders will be moving on from Philtront this summer due to them being relegated and early reports say she will probably go to a foreign league.

Captain: Korkson
Left Free Kick: Rallyton
Right Free Kick: Rallyton
Right Corner: Rallyton
Left Corner: Rallyton
Penalties: Korkson or Maltos

Formation: 4-4-2

Coach: Michael White (M) (South Newlandia)

Bench
Forward: Thomas Stratford #12 (M) Age: 22 Nickelson FC
Caps: 11 Goals: 3 Assists: 1
Stratford has barely played for the National team but with Griffin Pheonix-Anderson retiring and Harry Richman getting on with age he has moved up to the first choice striker on the bench. He recently graduated from University and succesfully returned to his club of Nickelson to pair with GPA and Madison Richards helping lead them to a second place finish in the league. He played quite well in Twicetagria starting a couple of games and played pretty good off the bench at the IAC.

Forward: Harry Richman #77 (M) Age: 34 Team: Barnley FC
Caps: 45 Goals: 13 Assists: 5
Harry Richman has come in clutch for this team. He plays 65 minutes a game when he starts yet is ready to come off the bench and give this team a spark whenever necessary. He has come off the bench before and performed extremely well when needed however he has now moved below Stratford on the depth chart. He still enjoys domestic success though as this was a very successful performance in the Challenger's Cup by Barnley making it to the Group Stage and captured his second KFA title last year.

Forward: John Smith #19 (M) Age: 23 South Saints (Ethane)
Caps: 1 Goals: 0 Assists: 0
Smith played for Barnley in season one but transferred to the reigning champs of Ethane (The South Saints) in that offseason where he helped them reach third place in the league to go back to IFCF competitions. He will be replacing Griffin Phoenix-Anderson and while he might not be as good he's young like the majority of the team and played quite well last season.

Midfielder: Al Torgan #21 (M) Age: 29 Team: Capital FC (Sylestone)
Caps: 39 Goals: 3 Assists: 3
Al Torgan is the second choice midfielder off the bench ahead of both Barter but behind Henderson and he showed this in the last IAC. He was the top mid off the bench in the last qualifiers and Michael White is exceptionally high on him for good reason and with a legendary season with Capital FC in Sylestone winning the league, MVP, and Golden Boot he may have earned the top sub spot back. White wants him to come in for Ida Cogginter who won't play until the end of most games.

Midfielder: Audrey Henderson #9 (F) Age: 24 FC Kohnface City
Caps: 67 Goals: 13 Assists: 10
For the longest time, Henderson was our top sub off of the bench especially in the midfield and she stepped up big time when Cogginter went down early on during the qualifiers at World Cup 85. Despite this it seemed that the young Henderson may never be given a spot to start until finally before our inaugural IAC, Coach Kohnhead decided to give her the starting spot in for Hannah Horsford as we transitioned to a 4-3-1-2. Henderson played extremely well at said IAC but struggled in both the 86 qualifiers as well as the following Cup of Harmony prompting a benching as Michael White made his first big move. Henderson will be the top midfield sub off the bench once again and is hoping to regain her starting spot.

Midfielder: Suzanna Barter #60 (F) Age: 20 Team: Kingston FC (Quebec)
Caps: 6 Goals: 1 Assists: 1
Barter replaced Balmer on the squad as they like the upside that Barter offers more than they like Balmer's as Barter is only 19. Suzanna really emerged in season 1 of the the KFL on a surprise Real Dawson squad that made the Challengers. Barter got her only cap (it was a start) in the match against Delaclava which was a friendly and she record an assist. Sophie Johnson was named the starter and she is pretty far down on a loaded midfield depth chart, as the new Kingston FC player who moved there for a massive 4.75 million dollars (second most expensive Kohnheadian player ever after Rallyton) last summer continues her climb.

Defensive Midfielder: Rodriguez Sporet #2 (M) Age: 33 FC Rüsselsheim (South Newlandia)
Caps: 1 Goals: 0 Assists: 0
Sporet will be replacing the forgettable Hannah Horsford as he makes his debut call-up to the National Team. While he is 32 and never once impressed in the KFA playing for the Dawson Diamonds in season 1 (again there were seasons before this) a free transfer to FC Rüsselsheim in South Newlandia changed his career. He was arguably their best player and was named the second best defender in South Newlandia helping them avoid relegation and make it to the Challenger's Cup by way of the Cup. While he probably won't play much and was a surprise call-up it's good to see Michael White using his South Newlandian connections.

Back: Callie Porsha #42 (F) Age: 21 FC Kohnface City
Caps: 54 Goals: 2 Assists: 3
Porsha following CPL's well documented struggles took over the starting right back spot as Coach White eventually benched her in favor of Taylor Rodar. She recently graduate to join FC Kohnface City and is currently the top defender off of the bench. She played a big part in FC Kohnface's turnaround last season and is only 21 so even though she lost her starting job there is definitely time for her to win it back.

Back: Arnold Donaldson #23 (M) Age: 25 Team: Vidal Alchemists (Mriin)
Caps: 1 Goals: 0 Assists: 0
Donaldson was the third new player added to the roster for the IAC after a good debut season in Mriin playing for the Vidal Alcehmists. While he's by no means the best player on the team, Mriin teams are a lot better than Kohnheadian teams and the fact that he's starting says a lot. He is replacing Vargas but is probably the last or second to last defender on the depth chart.

Back: Caroline Prius-Lenoard #76 (F) Age: 34 Team: Sporting Kohnhead City
Caps: 66 Goals: 1 Assists: 5
Prius-Leonard didn't start out too well as the entire defense struggled during our Baptism of Fire but since then she has been a constant at right back and has really turned her game around. CPL is getting up there in age and while she has missed only three games as part of the team she has a bad injury history and at 33 many people are worried how much longer she can keep playing at a high level as she has publicly flirted with retiring before this domestic league season and is now on a new team in SKC. CPL looked old, slow, and fatigued during qualifers with resulted in her being benched for the first time. Donaldson is now ahead of her on the depth chart as is Porsha.

Goalkeeper: Madison Richards #72 (F) Age: 33 Nickelson FC
Caps: 5 Goals: 0 Assists: 0
Richards proved to be a suitable backup in the 3 games that she started last time in place of Jackson Newcastle as she despite some nerves in the first one settled down. At age 32, she will probably remain the backup for the rest of her career as Bertha Sanders has looked very good so far. Richards had another good domestic season and helped Nickelson have a top two defense and finish third just short of the title once again.

Goalkeeper: Amber Washington #25 (F) Age: 23 Porter City
Washington is the third string keeper on the team and will probably take over the backup role once Richards retires. Washington is coming off of a season in which she won the Golden Boot and was named to the KFA First Team for the winning Porter City. She was the only callup to the squad for the World Cup Qualifiers because White wanted a third keeper.

Team name: Græntfjall
Trigram: GRÆ [GRF when not available]
Demonym/adjective: Græntfjaller
Team nickname: Snow Wolves

Coach: Image Kang Guilin
Assistant coach: Image Torsten Oliversson
Translator: Image Xieren Fusdóttir

Kang is a new appointment. A one-club player-turned-manager with the Nangang Royals, Kang took a struggling team rich in history and turned their fortunes around to the tune of four league titles. But with opportunities curtailed by the civil war, he was welcomed to become the first foreign coach in Snow Wolves history. He plays a non-traditional but effective counterattacking and pressing style, and earned plaudits for his tactical flexibility and pragmatism in Yuezhou; it is to be hoped the same translates to Græntfjall. He will be assisted by Oliversson, former national U-18 coach, and Fu Xieren, an immigrant of Yuezhouese extraction hired to provide translation when needed and who is absolutely definitely not a Græntfjaller intelligence services plant keeping track of Kang in case the Yincheng regime attempts to retaliate against him.

Squad: A 23-person squad has been named for the opening match. Following that, a revised 23-person squad will be issued for each subsequent set of matches; in the event I don’t amend the squad, you can assume the original squad prevails. Græntfjaller teams usually start those wearing 1-11, but there are a couple of exceptions listed.
  • The Græntfjaller Premier League is gender-mixed and it is seen as uncontroversial for men and women to play alongside each other. If you find this unrealistic you are welcome to RP surprised reaction [although given the general state of NS Sports it would surely be not too much of an outlier] but it won’t be something we dwell on. -son names are men, -dóttir names women, -bur names gender-neutral.
  • Football is only just becoming a millionaire’s game in Græntfjall, and then only at the top. Players earn a decent wage in the GPL but rarely more than that; the most expensive foreign transfer signings have been low seven figures NS$.
  • In general, Græntfjaller players are athletic and have excellent whole-match fitness, disciplined, and not prone to violence or emotional outbursts. They are, however, not tremendously skilled.
  • Græntfjall did not traditionally appoint a designated captain, and instead had the starting XI elect a captain before each captain. Because of the foreign coach, though, and the success of having a fixed captain at the Eagle’s Cup, there was a desire to have a central point of leadership, and so the team have elected to retain Hrærekur Jvarsson as captain on a permanent basis. Should he be injured, suspended, or otherwise absent, they will default to an elective model.
  • Timing note: In my timeline this occurs 2 years after the last WC/CoH, 1 year after the CR, a few months after the Eagle’s Cup, and shorter after the Di Bradini Cup. It occurs prior to the next GPL season, but after the completion of Transfer Window 30. Any players on foreign teams will be assumed to be given leave.

Goalkeepers

1. 12. Kauko Jorgesson (30) – Image Gunzlach (caps: 17)
12. 1. Christian Einvarðursson (25) – Image Molding (4)
13. 1. Björnólfur Ernestisson (20) – Image AK Stanimir (1)

Kauko has emerged, just about, as the first choice #1 after a couple of years of significant churn. Ever since the last Cup of Harmony ended Alexander Leonardsson’s career, Græntfjall’s goalkeeping plans have been in disarray and they’ve suffered several significant hammerings, with Christian Einvarðursson acquiring a reputation as a bit of a turnstile. The leading domestic keeper, Isac Théosson, is 37. Kauko Jorgesson has thus become the first option more through default than anything else. He’s not a bad shot stopper, but his command of his defensive line is a work in progress. He has a hefty boot on clearances but won’t be lasering accurate throws for fast break counter-attacks. Young Björnólfur is being groomed as a replacement but isn’t considered ready to start. ‘Playing it out from the back’ is not common in Græntfjaller football.

Squad update #5: After his poor performance against Pluvia, Jorgesson has made way in the starter role for Einvarðursson.

Squad update #7: So much for that! Time to give Ernestisson a try.

Defenders

2. Elektra Lúthersdóttir (23) – Image Yeaddin Owls (9)
3. Emeli Vilbertsdóttir (25) – Image Altendalur (43)
4. Hjörleifur Reynarsson (27) – Image Steinaux (25) (goals: 5)
5. Hilmar Farmansson (32) – Image Platinastigrade (23)

17. Tom Ernestisson (23) – Image SW Stahlberg (8)
21. Michelle Matteosdóttir (21) – Image Estdal
16. Vigfús Bensson Image Bavingtor FC
21. 3. 21. Ásgautur Johannesson (32) – Image Mühlrich

Græntfjall has more strength in depth at center back than at any other position. While Hjörleifur Reynarsson has emerged (look, enough with the “emerging”, OK?) as a first choice selection, there’s more competition for the other spot, and the selection of Mathias Kristerson, of the recent U-21 side, and Stefan Jokulsson, Ralf Álfarsson’s “Folte Tower” protégé, suggests a look to the future. Amid a sea of “Big Fucking Græntfjallers” Tom Ernestisson has the most rounded footballing skill set and can cover right back or play as defensive midfielder in a pinch, making him the most likely to feature off the bench or to come into the lineup if they switch to 3 at the back. With Karoline Vernerisdóttir on what is increasingly looking to be less a break and more a permanent retirement, and Else Svennsdóttir out of favor, Elektra Lúthersdóttir earns the starting right-back role. Michelle Matteosdóttir could earn her first cap covering either for Emeli Vilbertsdóttir at left-back, the team’s best and most experienced defender.

Squad update #1: Baptism of Fire veteran Ásgautur Johannesson replaces the uncapped Michelle Matteosdóttir on the bench, and Stefan Jokulsson loses out to Vigfús Bensson.

Squad update #2: Tom Ernestisson to start in place of the injured Hilmar Farmansson. Johannesson is dropped, and Jokulsson recalled.

Squad update #3: Emeli Vilbertsdóttir is missing through injury. Ásgautur Johannesson is brought straight back in and will start at left-back. Hilmar Farmansson is fit again and recalled to the squad, but will remain on the bench. Ernestisson will start wearing 17.

Squad update #4: Emeli Vilbertsdóttir returns to the starting lineup in place of Ásgautur Johannesson. Hilmar Farmansson is dropped; Matthias Kristersson takes the 5 jersey but remains on the bench behind Tom Ernestisson, who continues to start wearing 17.

Squad update #5: The experiments with playing Tom Ernestisson out of position at right-back are over. He reverts to a starting center back role and Elektra Lúthersdóttir slots back in on the right.

The precise shape of Græntfjall’s midfield is TBD, but early indications are Kang will favor a 4 – 2 – 3 – 1 / 4 – 3 – 2 – 1 over the 4 – 4 – 2 preferred by his predecessor. That puts left wing Hlégestur Snæþórsson on notice because, despite a good domestic season in Tikariot, his years aren’t doing his pace any favors, and a system requiring genuine wings will test his endurance. It doesn’t help that breathing down his neck is Hanne Heikkisdóttir, a sprightly talent with pace and a highlights reel of free-kick goals. Bríana Noahsdóttir is the team’s current free-kick specialist, over on the other wing, and had the best Copa Rushmori of anyone (which is seriously metric shit-tons of nothing). She too faces competition from a quick young interloper, Lana Mensdóttir. The three central midfielders are more settled: Hrærekur Jvarsson, Álfar Ásvaldursson [who will start despite wearing 19] and Amanda Guttisdóttir. Amanda may at last get the chance to play the more offensive role she prefers, protected by having two big enforcers behind her. Neither Hrærekur nor Álfar are true defensive midfielders, but are comfortable playing in a holding role and leaving the creativity to flow through Amanda. Kalle Bjørnsson has 34 caps despite starting only a couple of matches: he became the go-to defensive midfield substitute under the previous regime, but it remains to be seen whether he’ll fill this role for the new coach. Johanna Álvgeirsdóttir earns a surprise call-up ahead of the unlucky Jade Miansdóttir, thought to offer more offensive options, at the cost of some size and defensive ability.

Squad update #3: Bríana Noahsdóttir is out injured, with Lana Mensdóttir to start in her place and Robin Harrysson called up as reserve. On the opposite wing, Hanne Heikkisdóttir is now preferred to start ahead of Hlégestur Snæþórsson, who moves to the bench. Mensdóttir will wear 6, but Heikkisdóttir will continue to wear 14 even as a starter.

Squad update #4: Jade Miansdóttir is called up. Hanne Heikkisdóttir is out injured and Hlégestur Snæþórsson returns to the starting lineup. Bríana returns to start in place of Lana, and Robin is dropped.

Squad update #5: Lana Mensdóttir and Jade Miansdóttir are dropped. Robin Harrysson is recalled.

Squad update #6: Hanne Heikkisdóttir is back.

Squad update #7: Hanne Heikkisdóttir starts as Hlégestur Snæþórsson is suspended.

Squad update #8: Kalle Bjørnsson is suspended for the final three games and Jade Miansdóttir called up. Hlégestur Snæþórsson is no longer suspended but remains on the bench.

Forwards

9. Jason Þórhallursson (23) – Image Busembe Timberwolves (45) (32)
10. Justiina Dannysdóttir (28) – Image Umbar (26) (4)
23. 10. Ásvarður Bergmundursson (24) – Image Parakleion Firebirds FC (9) (6)
24. Lyngar Rögnvaldursson (29) – Image Hofvinger (22) (6)
23. Eiríka Jonathansdóttir (25) – Image Maigburg

As mentioned above, the team is likely to start only one forward. There is little question who that one will be given Jason’s prolific goal scoring form for club and country. He had a disastrous CR with more disciplines than goals so needs to earn his way back into the fans’ good graces. He’s a tall, strong, true center forward who shirks any defensive responsibilities but is unquestionably lethal in front of goal. Justiina will wear the 10 shirt [but won’t start]; she’s played well at times but always been too physically brittle. Ásvarður might well play more minutes for country than for his club. A classic forward who’s quickly amassed a fine goal scoring record (given half those caps have been off the bench, he’s averaging more than 1 goal per 90 minutes played), but a bit limited in his ball skills.

Squad update #2: Frequent reserve, occasional starter, Lyngar Rögnvaldursson, a fairly typical Græntfjaller barrel-chested forward is added to the reserves to give more offensive options.

Squad update #3: Having failed to impress in his chances off the bench, Ásvarður Bergmundursson is dropped to regain some domestic goal scoring form. Rögnvaldursson is also surplus to requirements. In their place, Eiríka Jonathansdóttir is called up for the first time. A merciless poacher but definitely lacking Justiina’s interlink play, she’s only likely to feature as an impact sub.

Squad update #4: Justiina Dannysdóttir is dropped. Ásvarður Bergmundursson is recalled, wearing 10 but on the bench.

Squad update #5: Lyngar Rögnvaldursson is recalled.

Squad update #6: Ásvarður Bergmundursson is dropped.

The team reverts to a more defensive look, with an extra body in the second row of midfield. Given defense has been a major liability in recent times, Kang’s priority is
improving on that end. The team will look to press and counter-attack, but will leave plenty of protection in the back.

Home arena

Unless otherwise stated, national games happen at the Grand National Arena (cap.: 50,000) in north Háttmark, or the Grander International Arena (cap.: 50,001), also in north Háttmark. The stadiums will alternate hosting rights, beginning with the GNA. Games in Græntfjall will be played in the summer so expect cool weather, but not heavy snow.

Update #4: The matches against Sett Forest and Pluvia and the Saxean Isles have been relocated to the Florus Stadion in Altendalur, noted for its black-and-white chequered seating and giant whale spine gate decoration. The first match was played without fans.

Murphtannian Roster

Postby Murphtannia » Wed Dec 30, 2020 7:34 pm

https://www.nationstates.net/nation=mur ... id=1424040

Excitement is growing in the nation of Murphtannia, Season 2 of the Murphtannian Premier League has come to a close, and with new additions to the national team all Murphtannians are hoping we can build off last seasons 6th placed finish in qualifiers, and maybe even qualify for the world cup this year.

Throughout the nation pubs have Murphtannian national team flags, tickets are being booked, the Murphtannia Stadium has been renovated and even expanded to a 200,000 capacity (to fit with the vastily growing Murphtannian population). The hype has grown, but can the National Team meet expectations, with the team largely the same as the last WC, we'll just have to find out.

With hype for the World Cup growing in Murphtannia, Prime Minister Jacob Smith has created several jobs to increase Murphtannian participation, first he hired the greatest photographer he could find in Murphtannia to take shots of the Murphtannia stadium, which can be seen below:

Of course no football team is complete without a kit to play in. The Murphtannian Culture Minister has been hard at work creating a kit that not only makes Murphtannian players look stylish, but also have a practical use. The Minister of Defense decided to get involved, and was quoted as saying "What do you mean we can't give them invisibility suits" After many weeks of hard work the following kits have been comissioned.

While the whole thing doesn't follow the national colours of red and black, it has seen record sales across Murphtannia.

The Gk Kit for Murphtannia is where the Minister for Defense got involved, designed for the goalkeeper to be camouflaged against the pitch, of course he didn't realize goalkeepers stand up not lie down, and all this do was made him stand out.

Of course the away kit looks equally stylish, the minister of culture decided to go with a mix of gold and black, in an attempt to stand out.

Finally the GK away kit, original designs were scrapped until one day one of the assistants working for the Minister of Culture dropped a melon on the design, before cleaners could clear it up the Minister looked at it for 15 minutes and went "no no, it's perfect." which was how the Melon kit was created.

The players in Simulland's national team are all exactly 1.75m tall, and all of the same slim yet athletic build. They all look different yet somehow oddly similar, like randomising the sliders on a mid-00s character generator.

Their names will be 'default' names according to *your* nation. So if 'John Smith' is a common name where you're from, the players will appear to be called 'James Smithson' and 'John Roberts' and 'Robert Jameson'. If you're from a Spanish-speaking country where, for example, 'Juan Garcia' is a common name, the Simulland players will all be called 'Jose Ferrera' and 'Pablo Lopez'. SImilarly, if you're a basque-japanese nation, expect Simulland's players to be called Eneko Suzuka and Hiroshi Ayala.

Simulland's players may also be prone to glitching out. Maybe this manifests itself in players randomly disappearing and reappearing at the other end of the pitch, half-buried in the turf, still acting as if they're running around and that nothing's wrong. Maybe this manifests itself in a Simulland player's foot phasing through the ball. Maybe the players will appear as large, red circles with ERROR written in the middle and two glowing MISSING TEXTURE messages instead of eyes. It all largely depends on you. If you prefer realism, feel free to have the players run around normally.

RP Permissions: Yes to all.

Kits: Your kits, but inverted. May be confusing if you play in black and white stripes. Changing to your away kit will cause Simulland's kit to immediately change to the inverse of *that*, so maybe try that.

Netop Football Squad

Nation Name: Netop
Nation Trigramme: NTP
Record: 14-7-13
Achievements: Quarterfinals-BOF 73, League B Third Place-AOCAF LXII
Colors: Blue, Green, and Yellow
Nickname: The Friends (Netop is what colonizers referred to Native Americans as when they were friendly with them)
IC Information about Netop: The Islands of Netop were a colonization expedition by Kohnhead. When they arrived they encountered a peaceful native people and proceeded to wage war on them. Atrocities were committed by the Kohnheadian colonizers but after years of hardships the native people sent the colonizers back to Kohnhead after successfully rebelling. The South Kohnhead situation also forced Kohnhead to abandon it's overseas colony. While the natives won some Kohnheadian colonizers stayed around and introduced their culture to the native people which is why the names, currencies, and language are quite similar. They also introduce the wildly popular sport of football which is played by amateur teams and leagues across Netop.

Last cycle Netop sent its first ever team to the World Cup Qualifiers where they came in 7th of their 10 team group at 17 points after a quarterfinals run in the 73rd Baptism of Fire. Netopian officials claim their COH invitations was lost in transit although many think we just didn't get an invitation and they are just saying that. Netopians were surprised to find out that we could sign up for the AOCAF but because of our geographic location we are technically allowed to sign up and the first appearance went quite well. We won our League C group and almost advanced out of the second phase tied on points with Gyatso-Kai for second but they had beaten us 1-0 to take that final spot into the Round of 24. Now in our second attempt at qualification the hope is to at least make it to the Cup of Harmony unlike last time and to do better overall.

Coaching Staff
Manager: Joey House (58) (M) House is to put it simply a tactical genius. He was the obvious pick to manage the squad as an unanimous selection and the early signs of picking him are extremely positive.

Assistant: Isaac Galindo (75) (M) Galindo was actually a colonist from Kohnhead but was one of the ones who stayed in Netop and was the leading figure in introducing football to the nation. Unfortunately in recent times he has become quite ill which has prevented him from becoming the full time manager. The thought here is he can help House from the background without having to put too much stress on his body.

Assistant: Vicky Hensley (40) (F) Hensley has recently retired from the sport of football. The idea behind her hiring is to give House the old in Galindo and the new in Hensley as she's supposed to bring new and innovative ideas to the team. Hopefully it actually works out as planned.

Starting XI
GK: #-492 Johnny Howells (23) (M) Howells who is from one of the most Southern Islands has the exact opposite personality of someone who you want on the team. He is the guy who blames others, gets into fights with teammates, has a massive ego, isn't as good as he thinks, and never takes any responsibility. He has some talent although not as much as he says and the backup position is not ideal so he's the starter. Howells played amazing at the BOF and has given us renewed confidence in him.

RB: #2.5 Logan Diaz (29) (M) Diaz is an aging back who has dealt with a lot to reach this point. He once had lots of speed but a couple of major injuries have made him very slow on the right side. He is a safe and secure tackler who you know won't over commit but can be beat on just speed.

CB: #007 Heather Burrows (21) (F) Burrows is the future of the defense. At only 21 she is the third youngest starter on the team. Her main problem is a lack of size but she makes up for it with a massive vertical which prevents her from being a liability on corners. She also tends to be a bit aggressive when making a tackle resulting in a decent amount of cards and over committing errors.

CB: #1492 Bertie Gilbert (18) (F) Gilbert will be taking the place of Vaughn in the back line and will be paired with another young player in Burrows. Vaughn's experience at the back was crucial to their success and while she will return as a coach of sorts, I have serious questions about the defense given that Burrows still needs a bit of time and Gilbert still needs lots of time. Gilbert is tall unlike Burrows but doesn't have the best speed, and her tackles are quite strong and leads to a lot of missed tackles and cards.

LB: #123456 Beau Hendricks (27) (M) Hendricks had to undergo a good battle for this starting spot with Ellie Pitt and despite Pitt being the fan favorite and having the better skill set of the two Hendricks has been named the starter. Hendricks will be under a microscope as he will desperately try to keep his spot.

RM: #-973 Tiana Mitchell (28) (F) Mitchell was brought into the starting XI after Wanda McNeil played horribly. Mitchell doesn't have McNeil's speed but she at least is competent enough on the field and she's next to Park and Holder who are both very good so they can pick up her slack.

CM: #1776 Savanna Park (26) (F) Park is the best player on the team and it's not debatable. She stands in the middle of the formation and has brillant skill moves, a deadly and powerful shot, and good enough speed to make runs. With Holder to her left and the speed of McNeil to her right the midfield is by far the strength of the squad.

LM: #1.754 Max Holder (19) (M) Holder is the second youngest player on the squad and is already one of the best. His best traits are his set pieces abilities as he takes the free kicks and corners as well as ideal speed, strength, and size. Holder should be the superstar on the team in a few years if he continues to develop.

RW: #2020 Zoe Kinney (23) (F) Kinney is very raw on the wing and it was a bit of a surprise that she is in the starting lineup. She has good power and with the right development could become something special. "She is a long term project though and could be heading to the bench if she doesn't play well early on." That's what I wrote before the BOF, but at the BOF she showed us what she could do scoring the second most on the team.

(C) CF: #10a Teddy Riggs (34) (M) Riggs is aging but will be by far the top scorer on the team. Riggs has that ability to find the back of the net often and his powerful shot and 6' 4" frame make him the best option in almost all situations. Despite being 34, Riggs has indicated he wants to play for at least five more years.

LW: #-10 Lyla Wormald (25) (F) Wormald is the 1B to Riggs' 1A as she will get the most assists and will be the second best scoring option behind Riggs. Wormald is relatively young but she has a tendency to struggle in high pressure situations and is a very streaky player.

Formation: 4-3-3

Roles
Captain: Riggs
Free Kicks: Holder
Corners: Holder
Penalties: Riggs

Bench
GK: #493 Marcus Nixon (30) (M)
Def: #24.94 Ellie Pitt (26) (F)
