Hello everyone. I thought it might be interesting to see how some real-life nations compare to some of the stellar (and not-so-stellar) offerings put forward by NS users.

First up is the United States with a score of just 63.5

The index breaks down into five categories, each worth 20 points:
Healthcare: 13.2/20
Economy: 10.7/20
Education: 14.5/20
Crime and Punishment: 8.8/20
Technology: 16.3/20

Stay tuned for more, and keep submitting those forms if you haven't already!

Does your country have a current plan to reduce drug and alcohol abuse? If so, please give details. Our policy when it comes to drug abuse is mainly based on harm reduction, at least initially, we offer safe spaces for people to do drugs where they can have medication and a doctor most of the time present. A person who seeks detoxification has all the expenses covered by the state. Our efforts are also in tracking the abuse at early/risk ages by training our teachers to recognize some aspects, employ psychologists and specialists in school and harshly applying punishment to those who sell alcohol and drugs to minors. Our tv, radio and media programming is tightly controlled when it comes to what is being promoted and the use of alcohol, tobacco or drugs if shown is mostly in a bad light.
Do your citizens have access to mental health care of an internationally adequate standard? Yes

I use all NS stats (even the dumb ones like weather) except for population
Most of my lore is spread around the forums (In cases of conflict, the most recent is canon) because I can't be bothered to make a factbook for everything. There is no prize for finding all of it, not even bragging rights. Why would you brag about something like that?
I have no idea what I'm doing and making this up as I go
Don't make me turn this country around!

I made a second nation for fun R.I.P

It's 2004. MTish nation with videocassettepunk tech, Japanese heritage, minority of magic occult practitioners, casuistic Catholic plurality, sovereign deriving authority by Anglican coronation, and policymaking so byzantine parties wonder if it'd be easier to pursue agendas via international law.

Any suggestions or comments on how to improve? Maybe the recidivism question could be clarified to indicate whether it means re-offense within a certain year range or if it means re-offense ever, for the rest of the ex-convict's life.
The Place Without a PeopleThe Dominion, brieflyThe Liagolas (leader) • MT. The dystopia pretending to be a hivemind. • When NS stats make your nation look freer than it's meant to be. • Security Council: *dips toe into roleplaying* General Assembly: *slaps SC*
In insisting it's a political simulation, NS ignores its reality as a political simulation game. Games have boundaries, and modern roleplaying games have safety tools. NS has neither, leaving it stuck as a badge-collecting pay-to-win where causticness is excused as "character," griefing/raiding is "just politics," and F7 is more courteous than General Assembly.
