Morocco Normalizes Relations with Israel

I’m not surprised, just saddened.
Morocco has decided to normalize relations with Israel as part of a US-brokered deal, angering all Moroccans Who are not the king. The same king that jails you for saying you don’t like him.
Palestine! Palestine! Crown of your people! How your brothers cry out as our leaders betray you!

Part of the deal is the US recognizes Morocco’s claims to the Sahrawi Arab Republic.

Good good, the more arab nations which do this the more we can stop certain parts of the left from claiming that Palestine's issues are the arab world's issues.

Good for them. As much as o certainly agree that Israel has a lot to work on, I do feel like the only path towards peace is making paths towards peace, and a peace agreement certainly constitutes that. It’s time we all just lay down the politics: both Israel and Palestine I feel should be recognized, so I feel this is a great step

Personally, I am absolutely happy. Israel is a legitimate state, and I'm glad the Arab world is starting to recognize it as such. However Palestine is also a legitimate state. I believe in the two-state solution.

Adding this to the OP, apparently, part of the deal is that the US recognizes Morocco’s claim over the Western Sahara.

Personally I also believe the Western Sahara is Morocco.

I believe this is good for Morocco and Israel alike. Israel gets some standing for normalizing ties with one government of the Arab nations which could be the foundations of greater relations between Israelis and said Arabs. And then Morocco gets the most influential nation in the world's recognition of sovereignty over Western Sahara.

It is good to see countries recognising Israel is there and not going away, and accordingly seeking to build more normal relations rather than linger on decades-old defeats. It's a very turbulent region of the world, so the possibility of establishing institutions for peaceable resolutions of disputes seems pretty remote. But you have to start somewhere.

No... I AM saying that they should stop building what the UN calls “illegal settlements” and leave THOSE, or at the very least, not destroy Palestinian villages around said settlements and violently threatened Palestinian family there for centuries trying to access water around said settlements.

Oh yes, that is true. Israelis should stay on the land they have and let the Palestinians have theirs. The Palestinians in turn could reconcile with Israel, and the two-state solution succeeds.
