Added Tiasha's first impressions to the second post. Also for fun, I figure I should answer the questions too

Favorite food
Vincent - A good pork wrap. It tastes like home.
Monica - She's not a picky eater, so anything that tastes good will do, but she greatly prefers meat.

Favorite hobby
Vincent - Playing cards if he has someone to play with. Otherwise, reading, or going over old cases. It keeps his mind sharp.
Monica - Probably drinking or caring for her swords, she doesn't have a lot of hobbies. Stargazing puts her mind at ease if she's somewhere she can do that.

Alright so I am working on the OP for the IC and have a question for everyone. For the first mission would you prefer to be assigned roles at the start or for me to just describe the different groups and let people decide which one they should be in?

I think the second option would allow more freedom without being too confusing.

Ditto on Ceystile, I think everyone knows what they want their character to be well enough to pick a group for themselves

I agree on the second option, we sort of know how we think our characters would break out...

But that defeats one of the interesting questions of Karu...

"Does she like me? Or is she just manipulating me? Does Karu even know?"

But I have a question for all of the other players in this little game...the most important question Karu will ever ask you (as far as she is concerned)

What is your favorite food?...and your not like a plant only person right...?

What is your favorite game, or hobby...or thing to not be bored?..

Decided to join in on the first-impression fun:

Errol's Favorite Food: A soup known as the Jako Lotus that he first discovered on the namesake planet of Joko while touring as part of the Elnoi Military. The broth is based from a large Therian raptor bird known as the Kwack, and is flavored with meat chunks, ferns, berries, nuts, green vegetables, various herbs, and of course, lotus root for flavor and texture, as well as additional lotus petals scattered over top for decoration, some spices for heat, and a dash of citrus for tang. The Oriasa's crew can expect to be served Jako Lotus at least twice a week in Errol's kitchen.

Errol's Favorite Hobby: He has a few. When he's not cooking, he likes music, he often plays in his spare time to relax. Having tentacles makes you very adept at the keys. He also enjoys playing cards, reading a few of the books he brought in his luggage, or taking care of his three birds.


Errol's First Impressions:

Amanda - "Honestly, it does perturb me how many mercenaries and guns-for-hire we've brought on this unit, I'd have hoped that the governments would've been a bit more scrupulous in who they chose. I suppose it's difficult to convince many honest men to drop their careers and go to the Abyss though. For what it's worth, the girl is an excellent pilot; steady, assured, confident, a natural. And she's definitely far from the worst soul onboard.

Benedikte - "I forgot to call her 'Doctor' once, and the heat from her eyes was enough to melt me down into a puddle. Her temperament can be poor, but she's alright overall, and she has twice the brains I'll ever have. I do wish she felt more comfortable among the rest of though, it breaks my heart to see her looking so afraid when the rooms crowd up.

Diego - "I don't know much of him, to be honest. He's guarded. Very guarded. Doesn't talk much to me anyways. His suit's enough to strike an image. He's a competent soldier though, and does his job beautifully.

Erina - "A sweet girl, exceptionally gifted. Young enough to be my daughter. I can't remember if I saw her while visiting Queen Herina as part of that Sol mission so long ago, but even still, I'm glad to have her around as a shipmate.

Gwydion - "I consider him to be one of my closest friends on this ship. We're both from the Collective, which is rare in a ship like this, he's another career man, and more importantly, we have common interests. The food. The music. He does ask an awful lot about my condition though, keeps trying to get me to come in for check-ups. Just two days ago, he asked me about my limp, and I had to tell him that I slipped in the kitchen. I don't know how much longer I can keep my sickness away from him."

Howie - "Another mysterious man, one that most definitely comes from the Abyss with that metal body. I'm a little wary around him, but he appreciates the food and treats me with courtesy, so I respond in kind.

I-256 - "I will admit, the prospect of...it on board did unnerve me at first, but after a while, it blends into the background a little, I don't see what all the fuss from the rest of the crew is. Certainly important for the ship, I couldn't imagine what we'd do without it. I wonder if she notices my limp."

Illvara - "I recognize this woman! Her King of the Hill games are stuff of legend...I can't tell you how many times I've lost a bet at the local casino over her matches. She's fearsome, and I can tell she's confused by my choice of vocation, but she's content to keep eating, and I'm content to keep serving."

Karu - "...It's been difficult. The girl is a capable navigator, but she's a little bit...self-centered. If I get another request for more Firosian cuts on next week's menu, I may just throw myself off into the nearest planet's orbit. I don't even want to dream of what happens if I lay a tentacle on that stuffed leopard..."

Kennedy - "Another one young and bright enough to be my child, and I can think he looks up to me like a father. Well, not like a father, I don't have that man's money or connections, but he talks to me like you would an uncle or family friend. He's sweet, but sometimes I'm just a few seconds away from grabbing him by the ankles and rolling him out the kitchen whenever he won't leave. Which is often. Too often.

Monica - "Little Kit-Kat has a mean streak. It seems like I'm one of the few people onboard she treats with even a semblance of respect, and while I'm grateful for it, I can't help but feeling rubbed the wrong way. Maybe I have a bias. She's skilled for sure, I can tell that much, but as someone who isn't coming anywhere close to boots on the ground, her ship conduct holds more weight to me. Much more weight.

Nix - "We have an...odd relationship. I tell the other chefs that the food is being carted up to the rest of the crew as snacks, but I can't tell if they believe me. I beat Henri over the head with a ladle every time he brings it up, but he still won't drop the damn investigation. I'm happy, honored even, to do it; my job is to make sure not a single man goes hungry, but she makes my life difficult, and as for our exchanges beyond the occasional nod and sentence? Nothing substantive. Perhaps we'll break the ice soon."

Regar - "The captain's a good man. I've heard unfortunate rumors about his past, but we all make mistakes, and we all deserve second chances. Hopefully, he's learned his lessons, and besides, he's pleasant to be around. A bit stiff, but decent nonetheless, good values, good principles. I respect him."

Tiquo - "Another Collective man on board, it's always nice to see. I respect him too, you hear such terrible things about Quarets, it's great to see that there are still good eggs in the batch. Shame he doesn't come out of his shell more, I've barely heard the man speak."

Vincent - "He beats me at cards every damn time! I try every trick, rig every deck, play with my coolest smarts, and nothing! Ah, hell. He's a fun one at least, his literature recommendations are fabulous. I have no idea why a man of his character continues to associate with Kit-Kat, but it's his life, who am I to interfere?"

[Kasa Tkoth Sphere]

I'm withholding first-impression stuff because I still don't feel like I'll have a good grasp of everyone's character until the IC starts moving (and, frankly, I don't blame anyone if I've given a weak impression of mine as of yet — that's on me not writing a very compelling summary, apologies).

I do think it's very funny that the crew seems to be quite evenly split on whether to call Ija an "it" or a "she" — in fact, it looks like a few crewmates switch between them in the same line! Might lead to some awkward talks if she starts trying to change the way she behaves to, say, be more relatable. Filing this away for later...

No need to apologize. It's not like we've got more information than you do for making these first impression posts, they're just for-fun stuff we make up on the go They're probably not canon, or at least won't be until IC interaction confirms them. But anyways, I don't think you made a weak impression with your app, so don't worry about that.
