Northumbrian/Northern nationalism: NOW A REALITY?

A lot of people in the North who have been left behind by the economic priorities of successive governments in recent decades bought very deep into the idea of Brexit as this decisive turning point whereby they'd now be listened to and get investment. As the haze starts to clear on that and on the limited patience of a Tory government for investing anywhere other than the South-east in a recession, I wouldn't be surprised if regional independence movements start to pop up around England. Probably not with enough support to go anywhere in the near future, but planting the seeds.

It remains to be seen what fruits those seeds will bear.

Really? Why?

Most Caucasian people on mainland Britain still have strong Celtic Briton DNA. From Scotland, to Wales, to Yorkshire, to Devon. There is a long cultural history that still exists. England is historically no less Celtic.

The only reason people see Britain as a political idea is because it was forced on them, rather than welcoming them into, and forming a union of equal members.

England is no more united than Britain is to a point. Look at the strong regional or even county differences.

Britain can be both cultural and political union if, and when, it is federalised. By allowing British politics to function from the regions up to the central government, you create an equal partnership that was lost, stolen, and then modified.
