Opening Day

"Welcome early risers to Actopolis!" an announcer booms over the microphone. "This evening is the night of the nominees! Until then, you may assort yourself with the many activities we have set up. In the theaters, we are showing movies from other festivals. On the stages, we a have stand-up comedian Lara Gilperman! And we have tons of other fun treats through the day, until tonight, with the red carpet, followed by the preliminary presentation ceremony! After that, there shall be a feast!"

Meanwhile, somewhere in the waters of Actopolis, in a private yacht


"Do you think we will win, Sharko?"
"I don't know Mrcel, this is the first of its kind and you know that"
"I know but you know my fear"
"The fear of being considered an old software?"
"No, the fear of being considered the new Claudio Fragrasso"
"I don't think tha-"
"You don't think, that is the issue Sharko!"
"Look Marcel, we have been working for years on that movie, we got it to shoot, and lots of people loved it."
Then someone knocked on the door
"Hey, can you two calm down?"
"Oh sorry Clawdia, can you tell Mrcel that he is not an incompetent?"
"Mrcel, you are not an incompetent, now please, call the hairdresser onboard!"
"So they can change your fur color, Clawdia?"
"Very funny Mrcel, now call one please!"
"Alright alright, jeez. *gets onboard phone* Hairdressers go help Clawdia please, she needs someone for her fur dying season!"
"So Mrcel, you do still have the script with you, right?"
"Yes Sharko, I do"
"Memorized on your hard drive you call your brain or on paper?"
"Both"
"And I assume you got the full movie stored within you, right?"
"Yup"
"Then, we are good to go. Now, stay calm okay?"
"Alright alright"

a few hours later, the yatch docks on Actopolis' main port. There, a pair of limousines waited for the director, the script writer and the actors to show up, so to take them to their temporary place of staying

John Gult was arriving in his mustang. His movie, or rather the one he acted in, Nam Gloria was a masterpiece and given the movie of the year in Romextly and was a widely acclaimed by the actual history facts. He had acted as Corporal Aquila Ceaser, who was on the government and fought in multiple battles and the final days of the First Romextlian Civil War. He came from a actor in small comedy series that got him a few thousand to getting millions and his face everywhere. The movie itself raked in hundreds of millions of Pesos and Widely watched movie in the Roman League. There was a movie near Nam Gloria, but it was unlikely that it would surpass his movie. His supporting actors, Juan Hernandez and Ermina Guiz were behind, but he was all ready. He parked into the parking lot and gave his ticket to the ticket boy.

Eber Palisha
Eber was in his glory days once more. He already had made money in his two other movies and this just added to his resume. He had his Lamborghini and gave it to the valet. Luis Palersa, Arianna Sorlento and Emilio Zapata were all behind, all who were the ones he had developed a friendship. His movie The Darkest Hours showed the most recent rebellion. Or rather the one before the current one

Morris Inetxaga and his family arrived at the Actopolis Movie Festival, ready to watch some movies.

"Ah, yes," Morris said. He was an Oscar-winning Voxijan director, since one of his movies won the Oscar for Best Foreign Film. That film was made in Spain, in Spanish, though, but having one of your movies win an Oscar is still an achievement. "Finally, Voxijan movies are getting more recognition in film festivals."

Bailey O'Hara-Inetxaga bopped Morris on the shoulder a bit. Bailey was Morris's lovely American wife. "Voxijan movies have always gotten recognition. What about Proudly Whatever? And your own little action flick?"

"Well, it's always good to get your country more presence on the international stage, especially in matters of culture."

"I'm bored," muttered Eneko Inetxaga. Morris's little son was his pride and joy, even if he insisted on staying up for the entire flight to Silvedania and scream while other passengers were sleeping. "We only have two movies here. I don't understand why we can't have more."

"You see, dear," Bailey said. "The Movie Festival organizers wanted to make room for other nations' movies."

"And, Eneko," Morris ruffled his son's hair, "The movies that we have here are great ones! Remember when you watched Intergalactic Shipping Company?"

"Oh, yeah!" That movie made Eneko laugh so hard that he created a TvTropes page for it right after he watched it.

Bailey replied with, "No One Knows is a personal favorite of mine."

"Exactly!" None of Voxija's movie entries appealed to Morris Inetxaga much, but there were lots of action movies and thrillers and intense drama at this festival. So there was that.

Morris hoped the Voxijan films would win awards. There was a lack of female representation in the films at this festivals, so maybe Voxija would win for diversity. And it seemed like Intergalactic Shipping Company was the only kid's movie at this festival.

Meanwhile, at the Four Seasons hotel, in Mrcel;s room
"Can you just keep your circuits calm, Mrcel?"
"I am sorry Sharko! I am so sorry! I am worried okay? Can an Omnes robot be worried for once?"
"Fine, be worried. But really, you are gonna rock this one. Didn't you won in Venice three years ago for an experimental movie?"
"yes but you know me Sharko, you know me! I am always considering my work as shit, not worth of a prize"
"At least you know today we are have to attend the red carpet, right?"
"Yes, didn't the man at the port told us that?"
"Yes, but is better if I repeat it to you. You know, you rusty ol' machine"

Meanwhile in another room
"How does this dress look to me?"
"It looks amazing, Lucia!"

"Nah, I don't think so darling. It suits you a lot! That dark blue long dress do show you off perfectly."

Anilis, Iana, and Latete pull up in a limo and step out.

"Wow, we're finally here!" says Anilis. "Shame the directors couldn't make it. They'll just have to settle for us!" He chuckles a bit.
"Of course, love," Iana replies. "Now, let's actually enter the thing, shall we?"
"Alright! I can't wait to show our film to the world!" exclaims Latete as they approach the gate.

They walk towards the guards and show their tickets.

"Hello, we're the cast of Dustbins in the Desert. We'd much like to be let in so we can actually be there to see our own film," explains Anilis.

[Hopal]

Lance Steele arrives at the festival location along with his director Konan Lanez and the actress for June Poltonin Helena Lee. Lance was the writer of Heart of Steele, a movie about his uncle the late Alexander Steele, the former Minister of Defence, his adventure in Hungary, the turbulence of his relationships, and the emotions of assassins. It was a hard movie to write, because you had to account for the human element and the historical elements, but because of his efforts, the directing, and excellent acting, they were able to make a great film. They were soon joined by the actor for Alexander Steele Alonzo Berk and entered the festival.

"From the trailer, No One Knows looks REALLY good. Plus, my daughter loved Intergalactic Shipping Company." a volunteer says, while holding a little girl of about three's hand.
OOC: It is the only kid's film, so basically it won, but it won't be official until next week at the actual awards.

"Don't get too nervous!" exclaims Anilis.
