"not taking witchcraft seriously" is different from completely derailing the thread, insulting faiths present on 6 continents as fake or "trivial" derivations of older things, demanding that I tell you my faith so I can be judged by you, claiming to know a lot about witchcraft/pagan beliefs despite, apparently, thinking witches only popped up within the past century. trying to force me into "proving" my faith (which I think 3 people have done so far), and deciding that I can't meet your condescension with my own, more muted condescension. It was more along the lines of "I don't really know what you mean by witchcraft, please specify." And also, "most of the forms of witchcraft you describe are unrelated to each other, and some of them seem kind of trivial (like herbalism.)" I don't think witchcraft popped up in the last century, I just think the modern imagining of it is largely unrelated to many of the older practices you link it to. And, as I said, your protests are the pot calling the kettle black. I didn't say I'm not condescending, I just said it's odd to hear you complain about it.

The notion that OP and OP's ilk are actually able to cast magic spells is, obviously, absurd. But I suspect that there are people in the world that are capable of real magic - though they surely do not advertise their knowledge on the internet. So my question is, if someone casts a real curse on somebody else, should they be executed, imprisoned, or something else?

I know this is a report thread, but I have a 2 questions regarding the Hexing thread, I was going to report the said thread because of poor OP, but didn't because I had seen 2 mods comment on it, so I thought it was allowed to stay open. (In hindsight I should of still reported it)
So my 2 questons are how come the 2 mods didn't take action on it and are mods allowed to close threads without it been reported in moderation?

1. Moderators have plenty of responsibilities to tackle in NS and/or RL. We're volunteers who moderate on our spare time; consider Mod Emeritus Ransium, whose RL responsibilities have ultimately precluded him from committing to moderation and editing issues.
2. Yes. Consider threads that are little more than glorified blog posts on NSG; when we spot them, we lock them, along with the occasional friendly reminder that NSG is not the poster's blog.
