Your Favorite Pickles?

Postby Bluepillar » Sat Nov 21, 2020 12:15 pm

I have a dark secret. I'm a pickle fanatic seeking black knowledge on NS' pickle statistics. Some like em Vlasic. The classic, greener than everyone else's crunch of the pickle that filled my childhood are still some people's favorites while I've claimed Clausen's as my new, fresher, and, in my.op9nion, better tasing Pickles. Others like new brands, older brands, the home made ones, an obscure brand, a regional or local brand.

So, NS general, what are your favorite pickles? Do you have a jar or package right now? If not, when are you gonna get one? And if they're home made, what makes your favorite better than the other homemade recipes you've tasted?

And bonus question: do you consider pickles to be both a snaxk/food and a refreshijg drink? cause I doooo

I've recently been on a pickled vegetable kick...in my fridge right now? Pickled; Cauliflower, asparagus, tomatoes, green beans, and cucumbers (better known as pickles :) ).
Some times I will take the left over pickle juice, hard boil some eggs and make my "own" pickled eggs...

Silverskin onions.

Best way to have them, is to get a jar of them with a block of cheese. Cut up the cheese into mini cubes and then put one silverskin and one cheese cube on a cocktail stick and give yourself a little cheeky bowl of them.

Amazing stuff.

Olives of course, most people never even realize they count as pickles. If not, jalapenos, cabbage and cucumber. Pickled herring is great when done right.

You should try my "pickled" rose bush here on the side of the lawn, it's amazing :)

I love pickles. It's one of my go to vegetable snacks.

Pickled ginger, especially with sushi. I know you're just supposed to eat a little to cleanse your palate but I generally eat the whole dish before the rolls arrive.

If you mean pickle pickles I like large ones that are sliced really thin.
