HUElavia once again participates in the World Cup of Hockey, with the traditionally winter sport taking massive gains in popularity in the country due to the great success from the National Hockey Team. Los Amarillos/Os Amarelos are coming off a continuous road of success, going from Group Stage exit in WCoH 38 to Round-of-16 in WCoH 39 to the Quarter-Finals in WCoH 40. The team has grown exponentially, that HUElavia is one of the few Tropical nations in the multiverse to have a strong Hockey League along with a strong national team.
After the surprise run to the Quarter-Finals four years ago, the team now comes in ranked 13th in the Multiverse Rankings for Ice Hockey. Thus, the team was put in Pot 2 for the Final Draw. HUElavia (13) was drawn in Group B against the following teams: Poafmersia (22), Neu Engollon (2), Bleronia (UR), Graintfkall (32), and NPC West Florida (UR). The group looks fairly decent for Los Amarillos/Os Amarelos, but the games against Poafmersia and Graintfkall are "trap" games where the team will have to give it their best to stave them away. Of course, the game against Neu Engolion will be likely for the 1st Place of Group B.
Last time around, HUElavia played their Group games in Curumba. This time around, the team will play their home games around the country, much like the National Football Team does. The following stadiums will host the following teams: Arena Santos (19,250) in San Rafael will host against Graintfkall, OfficeMart Center (18,500) in Curumba will host against Poafmersia, HUElines Arena (18,500) in Sao Salvador will host against Bleronia, HUETech Center (17,500) San Franco will host against NPC West Florida and Banco da HUElavia Arena (21,000) in HUEsilia will host against Neu Engolion. It is expected for all the matches to be sold out.
Most of the squad is intact from the past few editions, but there's some new faces of the new generation of HUElavian Hockey Players looking to make a name for themselves and help hockey to continue growing in the country. Pundits and fans alike expect the team to make it to the Round-of-16 at the bare minimum. Here's to hoping and praying a good display once again from the team in another edition of the World Cup of Hockey.
FORCA HUELAVIA! VAMOS HUELAVIA! GO HUELAVIA!
