I am honoured to be able to serve my Homestate in such capacity, details involving the cabinet and day-one priorities will soon follow. I once again must thank all the countless volunteers and extraordinary supporters that fought with us. We are now placing power back into your hands. #MsGov

It is with great honor that I shall be rerunning for a spot in Washington House of Representatives this election. Let's make Washington better as a team!

“Thank you for your question. I am certainly confident that the Republican Party can make gains in the House this year. I think it’s been made clear to the American people that the Democratic leadership of the 116th Congress has failed to deliver, whether that be through it’s failure to fully stand up to the Iranian regime by refusing to support the Iran Liberation Act written by Congressman Tenson, or through the fact that the House has had two Speakers within its first session alone. We in the Republican Party know that the American people deserve better than this, they deserve leadership that represented them, not the political machines of New York and Chicago. That is why we will be campaigning hard across the length and breadth of this great nation, to show the American people how a Republican-led 117th Congress will fully deliver upon their demands.”

Bismarck, North Dakota

"Now is the winter of our discontent
Made glorious summer by this sun of York;
And all the clouds that lour'd upon our house
In the deep bosom of the ocean buried."

Burgun chuckled to himself, he always loved Richard III and Shakespearian plays, not that he would admit it in public. That would make him seem to elitist, and he could not have that image associated with him when he is one of the main faces of the right wing populist movement. Somehow he just does not believe that his voters would take him liking Shakespeare well. Perhaps one day he would build up a following as wide as the soon to be late Arnold Wolf Sr., but for now he doubted it. But regardless by the ways things are shaping up 2024 or even 2028 is showing itself to be a prime time for right wing populist such as himself. But in order to do that it is clear to him that the populist coalition needs to be expanded due to a changing country. The black voters are too ingrained with the Democratic party to make all but modest gains, the Asians do not make up a large enough proportion of the vote, but the Hispanics... They are concentrated in valuable states like Nevada, Florida, and Arizona. States that the Republican Party can take, and from preliminary research seem to be among the most receptive to right-wing populism. Of course to do that it would obviously help to speak the language.

"Gov. Burgun the Spanish tutor that you hired is here." Burgun's personal secretary called through the telephone.

"Send her in." Burgun told his secretary. The next few years would not be easy, but as he was practically guaranteed election to the House given how Republican North Dakota is, and how much influence he has over the North Dakotan Republican Party. He could spend quite time learning the language of the Hispanics, and give his opponents a nasty surprise in a few election cycles.

"Gov. Burgun, hello. Are you ready to begin your Spanish lessons?" The woman a middle-aged Latina asked the North Dakotan.

"Si Senor?" Burgun answered, oblivious to the gendered nature of the Spanish language.

The woman gave off a little cackle, which did not bother the Governor one bit. "I see we have a lot of work to Senor Burgun."

From this period forward Burgun would spend as much time as possible dedicated to learning the language of the Hispanics to secure their votes in the next few election cycles, or so he resolved...

The Majority Leader didn't portray any surprise but nodded and listened intently before responding "It is certainly something you could do, and if you ran i'd imagine you'd win... but if you ran I would ask you announce soon before other candidates begin campaigning and wasting their time. All I would say is consider if its something you're hungry for, this is a job that requires 28 hours in a day to do it right... its not for the faint of heart or those unsure of if they want it. “Since the withdrawal of Governor Prendergast I have given much thought as to endorsing a candidate, particularly as the Republican Party comes increasingly closer to the Iowa caucus. I have decided that it would be best to endorse the candidate with the best chance of electing a Republican-led 117th Congress with him. That person is Governor Richardson, Governor Richardson has proven himself to not only be the most pro life voice following Governor Prnedergast’s withdrawal, but he has also proven himself to be a steadfast advocate for real working class values, values which I have seen the Governor evidence abundantly over this campaign. Moreover, the Governor also provides the best defence for the American people against the radicals amongst the Democratic Party who seek to undo the great work we’ve seen under both the Wolf and Tawney administrations in making America great again.”

Iowa Richardson Campaign Headquarters, Des Moines, Iowa

Senator Trelawney had thus far managed to avoid any sustained involvement in the race to succeed President Wolf, having wanted to instead wait until the primaries developed and the candidates were naturally withered down. That point had now passed and with a month to spare until the Iowa caucus, she thought now would be a good time to start positioning her endorsement. And so, the Senator arrived in Iowa fairly early into the afternoon and after arriving at the Richardson campaign’s Iowa headquarters slightly ahead of when her first meeting was due and notifying the receptionist of her meeting with Governor Richardson, she waited to be led through to the candidate.

Such meetings had become commonplace as more and more politicians met with him and his team to give support, each was discreet and Senator Trelawney was no different as she was taken in the back entrance.

"Ah Senator Trelawney i'm happy to have you here" Richardson said shaking her hand and bidding her sit down at the conference table "Thank you for making the trip my schedule as you can imagine is rather tight."

9 January, 2020

About fifty people were gathered around a small gazebo in the backyard. Dan had woken up at 4AM to help prepare for the amount of people that they were inevitably going to have to shove into their small suburban yard. Christmas lights still adorned the exterior of the house, and a large Christmas tree stood on the upstairs balcony. He and Karen began placing seating and refreshments for the guests, and by around 7AM they were ready. Guests began arriving around 7:30, however the neighbors just had to pick today to mow their lawn. Well, they'd get around it somehow. Soon, the full guest list arrived. Several high-profile individuals in Ishpeming were there, such as the Mayor and several town councilmen. Once the clock hit 8 O'Clock precisely, Daniel began his speeh. It'd have to be quick, as it was a cold cloudy day there along Lake Superior.

"Mornin', folks. Hope yous all gonna b' able to get down to McDonalds or somethin' for breakfast after my speech here." he joked. "Well, seein' as we're coming up on an election season here, I figured I'd better get out and do something, or you'd might've thought I've died! Well, I don't think any of you folks would want that, but the radical socialist democrats don't care how many people die! All they want is two things, power and money. You know, we have a pretty terrible governor here! Constantly, oH yOu dO thIs and YoU dO tHaT! We're tired of it. Sick and tired, right? Well, enough about the Democrats, let's talk about our great President, eh? Tawney, you know, he's a great guy. Never met him, but he sure is a great leader to succeed President Wolf. Yeah, he was a great, wasn't he? He worked so hard for us, didn't he. Shame he got such a terrible, terrible disease, right? Ehh, we gotta do somethin' about that cancer. At least, we'd like to. Democrats, phfft, they don't care how many die from these diseases, they just care about defending liberal schmucks in California dictatin' the prices for us hard-workin' folks!

We gotta get somethin' done in Washington, can't have all these stupid Socialists in congress! Take a look at that fuckin' whacko from out in New York! She's, eh, she's crazy! Right? We gotta do something! Why not take away her seat, huh? Stupid New Yorkers, electing equally stupid politicians! You know, President Wolf had a great IQ, and uhh...ehh, eeeehhhh not so much for the Democrats! I bet they ain't half as smart as they say!

Well, that's probably about it for now folks. Gettin' colder out here, huh? Thank You for coming, and remember to vote red!"

He grinned, and put his `'WinRed'` hat on. He warmed his hands, and went over to the refreshment table for some hot cocoa.

Admittedly, the House Minority Leader had particularly been the type for press conferences, having spent a large part focusing on a more private course of action during his tenure as House Majority Whip for the 115th Congress, nevertheless, he thought it would be a good time to start making a regular feature of them, not least because 2019 had now rolled by and the House was going to be in play come November. Thus, the Minority Leader Volker took to the podium and began his first press conference as the House Minority Leader.

"Good morning ladies and gentlemen of the press."

"Today marks precisely one year until the 117th Congress is sworn in, a Congress which I am confident will be serving with a Republican President to continue the great work under both President Wolf and President Tawney in making America great again. For this reason, we will be holding a weekly press conference in order to allow members of the press the opportunity to ask questions whilst also continuing the current system of weekly 'Twitter town halls' in order to allow the American people the opportunity to know the Republican alternative in this upcoming election and how a Republican-led 117th Congress will work to follow up on their wishes and demands. Fell free to ask any questions and I'll be sure to provide an answer to them."

Earlier today, after the State House voted, I called up Eleanor Brosnan to concede the election and offer up my support as she takes up the reins as our state's Governor. While this obviously isn't the outcome we were hoping for, I wished her the best of luck in being a Governor for all Mississippians, Republican and Democrat, White and Black.

I'd like to thank all the volunteers, supporters, and voters who've supported this campaign through thick and thin. Like I said, this ain't the outcome any of us were hoping for, but it's the outcome the State House has decided for all of us, and at the end of the day the only thing we can hope for is that they've chosen the right person to run Mississippi for the next four years.

After the tragedy that was the rigged 2016 Democratic primary, I am confident that our party has rewritten the rules to make for a fairer process. We will not allow a repetition of what happened to Baginski. And if I see anything remotely similar occurring, I will be the first to condemn it and fight it. The primary process must be respected.

Levi Murphy Press Conference
Minneapolis, Minnesota

The Levi 2020 campaign summoned a press conference at their one of their off-shoot campaign headquarters in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The campaign had told the media that what was to be said was a 'big deal' and that they should probably come. Behind the scenes, Levi was adjusting his tie and was being prepped by his campaign team, including his campaign manager and media advisors. He walked out to front the media and give his announcement.

"Thank you for coming today. As you all know, we have turned another leaf and it is not long at all until the voting begins in the Democratic Primaries. I believe, our campaign, is in a unique position to win the election democratically and move on to crush the Republican nominee for President. But, there is one particular issue that the primary election faces - something contentious that must be sorted before any voting can begin. To say this lightly, super-delegates must be abolished in this coming 2020 Democratic Primary. There is absolutely no validity to their existence in the Democratic Primary and they serve as a block to the voices of the Democratic Party voters this election. I trust the voters, whoever they pick, but I do not want your average union workers, teacher, nurse, the people who make the rank and file to have their voices dimmed to favour the ex-politicians and party bureaucracy. Superdelegates must be abolished."

"Senator Baginski made some important head-way on this topic after his last presidential run in 2016, but not enough has been done to ensure the integrity of this election. After negotiating with Baginski, the party has now removed superdelegate balloting from the first round of voting, but should a candidate not receive a majority: something which is highly likely, at this point in time, their undue influence will be interfering in the Democratic Party election. We simply cannot have that, their positions altogether must be removed. We must have a candidate who has the confidence of the Democratic Primary voters, first and foremost, that is how we win the general election. And I trust the people to elect a candidate who they know will fight for them in Washington D.C. and defeat the Republican Party."

"Often the issue can be misinterpreted. These superdelegates must be abolished, but they are not disenfranchised of their vote. If they are like any other Democratic Party voter, they can vote in their primary or caucus, not have their voice leveraged because of some connection to the party apparatus. I trust former Senators and Governors as much as I do the our Latino brothers and sisters in Nevada, as I do our farmers in Iowa and our steelworkers in Ohio. What we cannot allow is the democratic process being stolen away in a Democratic Primary. After all, we are only persuasive against voter suppression and the nasty tactics Republicans deploy to win elections if we ourselves do not act in any similar, undemocratic fashion. To demonstrate how superdelegates are an corrosive force on our democracy, I want to go through a list of states in the 2016 Primary that voted Baginski, but their delegates went instead to Clifford. Hold tight, everyone."

"West Virginia. Indiana. Michigan. Montana. New Hampshire. Rhode Island. Vermont. Were these voters listened to, at all, in the 2016 election? Unfortunately, no. That is why we need to make change. I call on the DNC Chairwoman to reach out to my campaign if need be, and we can discuss the abolition of superdelegates. Superdelegates must be abolished before a single vote is cast in this primary election. Thank you."
