It was a late night when the apparition of Steven announced a new policy of "Hubadabubada," recalling on previous gospel passed on by the glorious founder and Oracle, Liliarchy. In this new era of Hubadabubada, the Ghost of Steven's past had promised to quit retagging The Black Hawks. For too long did the toxic and Chingis-like practice of retagging plague the city on a hill, Lily. Initially there was deliberation among both sides,
"Is this intended to be an actual policy change?" -Lord Dominator
"I am looking forward to a bright and long future with these new mandates and the new relations with The Black Hawks, something I have been lobbying the vile Sweeze about for quite some time." -Frenchy II

It wasn't until two weeks later when fateful discussion between Aquilanion and Frenchy II was first had on the topic of retags. Frenchy had finally clarified that retags had been ceased once and for all. Buzzy Bee pilots had finally been instructed to steer clear of all regions flying the black and white flag of The Black Hawks. Initial discussions were tense, both sides unwilling to give up more ground that what had already been laid out on the table. The Black Hawks were reluctant initially to stop retagging, wanting to make sure that the Lilyputs with the then-wretched repute would actually hold true to their hubadabubada chicanery. The topic quickly went into remission, unspoken of for over a month until Aquila and Frenchy exchanged messages and agreed to resolve their issues in an in-person summit.

Aquila and Frenchy knew that in order to make this work, they had to go to a neutral location. Pictured above is Rom's apartment in The North Pacific. The summit was productive with fair negotiations between both sides. The Black Hawks had observed the candor of Lily and a deal with them would be imminent. No longer were they wretched Lilyputs and unaligned mercenaries to The Black Hawks, but members of a dignified organization, known for their speed and skill in the times of regional rejuvenation. The Black Hawks in turn had to make their promises to halt retagging and look towards a bright future between them and the interregional military.

The Stargazer

I awoke in a cold sweat, the dreams of those before me continue to disturb me immensely as I question my own fate. As I roam these destitute lands, I envision the green that was here in what the clan referred to as the “primordial days of old.” Long ago, the skies were dazzling displays of vibrancy and at night the jewels of heaven gleamed and glistened. In this agonizing era, the shrine of the sun is a disgusting burnt orange smog, and in the later hours, it quickly becomes a deep cloud of raven. The primordial days have left their markings permanently on these lands, the concrete jungles have been overtaken by the flame scorched landscape. I know little of the men who built these marvelous displays in their own era, having ventured little outside the lands of my prior clans. We dwell in a vast concrete jungle at the divergence of a small river—south of great inland seas— stemming from a water source elsewhere, near, yet distant. The large venues have since crumbled, the towers fell, the plants returned with their vines taking hold of what those before me had left for us. The clan elders and remaining founders of us had journeyed here from distant lands, never leaving for other clans since. Briefly, the swift elder had ventured into exile but he has returned in a wiser state. The crafty elder had never left, only taking more of an advisory role in the day to day comings and goings of the clan. These elders had managed to peer through the fog in the past before halting, I’ve decided to consult them to see the jewels above.

_{The Terrain.}

I enter the den of the elders, like all things it is dense with a hazy aura, yet this area seems much clearer than anywhere else I’ve been. The crafty elder invites me in but deep inside lies the dwelling of the swift elder where we meet.

“I’ve come to ask of you a favor.”
“Speak.”
“The glistening stars above, how do I seek them?”
“A journey only the alpha and omega can be prepared for.”
“You mustn't think that it is possible.”
“When we did our numbers were much larger and our favorability among the neighboring clans was much greater.”
I ponder their words for a brief moment. They sink in, but these elders appear to have life in them yet.
“How about you accompany me?”
“Our performance has aged as have we, but perhaps.”
“Leaders of our clan, two close followers, and one member of a distant clan will be accompanying.”
“Who will I be with?”
“Me.”
“Very well, we will accompany you.”

I swiftly exited out of the den, it was now time to inform my fellow leaders of our triumph. We would finally see the celestial bodies above as our forefathers did. I first ventured to the home of the sharp one. He greeted me, quickly getting to the point.

“How now?”
“I bring good news.”
“Speak it, there’s no time for malarkey.”
My fellow leader suffered from a condition that could take his present mind away from us on a whim.
“The elders will be accompanying us.”
“Have you told—”
“No, I’m venturing there next.”
“Quickly, before she is asleep. She wakes for none.”

_{The Den Of The Small One}

The greatest of us, the small one, is not to be miscalculated by her stature. She’s a quick one, just as the elders were. Her deep knowledge of the heavens has all built up for this moment. I’d known her from previous clans and for quite some time even as I lived almost in exile we kept in distant contact. Her dwelling place was tucked away in a crevice in a structure not far from my own. The structure was once seemingly quite a grandiose display. Buried deep in the edifice I found the small yet mighty one in her pallid state.

“I bring news.”
“Well?”
“They’ll be accompanying me while you and-”
“Very good.”

We discussed our groups before I exited to prepare for the journey. We had quite the trip ahead of us, but we would be accompanied by a few more:

The first being the foreigner. Hailing from the northeast, he has one purpose, to lead the third team. While the elders and the leaders would be sailing ahead, the foreigner would lead those behind to the same eternal glory as we. His generosity towards our clan will never be forgotten, yet his clashes with our leader are frequent. He and the small one, though well versed with one another, find themselves opposed frequently.

The next being the equestrian. Her aid to the clan has come more recently but her time in star hunting has been long-standing. She dates back to the prime of the crafty elder in his own star hunting days. They say star hunting was much more difficult back then, the smog being much thicker in that era.

The final member is the precise one. While salvaging in the scorched forests outside of our concrete jungle, we found her high in the bare treetops with the birds. After brief contact, she decided to officially join our clan just recently. She dates to the time of the elders as well, known for her precision in finding holes in the smog to see the heavens. She was once the teacher of the small one and has returned from exile in recent months.

We resolved to embark on the journey first by the river, sailing down to the large river before quickly making the journey across. From there it would be a mountainous trek. Previously, explorations to this area had proved costly, taking days to complete. I had gone on a few with some of the other leaders, the small and sharp ones. Occasionally the foreigner would accompany the larger explorations. We estimated this one to be roughly 2.5 days, but we truly have no guarantees. The pace will fluctuate but we plan on it being relatively constant at the start of the journey. The path ahead was dangerous with many rivaling clans looking to stop us by all means necessary. We had recently heard the news of an invasion in faraway lands that some of our greatest rivals tended to be looking to stop, resolving this, tonight was the night. The road ahead still proved dangerous but we seemed geared for the journey. The boats were docked, the supplies were prepared, and soon we would set sail. We of course organized into boats in respect of our teams. The elders would be accompanying me, and I would have to compensate for their slow paddling after years of being stationary in our homelands.

The midnight hour stuck. It was launch time, immediately we began paddling our way down the river, this would be hours of tireless work, but worth it in the end. As predicted, the other two leaders took the fastest pace down the river, followed by the elders and me, and trailing was the team led by our foreign friend. The crafty elder had immediately cramped on his first stroke, but the other elder and I continued in pursuit of the heavens. Though night, the sky glowed orange, and the flames were still in the distance. The slight illumination had made it possible to see the outside landscape. As we sailed, we passed what seems to be a failing agrarian settlement focused primarily on domestication. It’s unclear what is being domesticated there, nothing edible grows in this fiery landscape. The lands of those who have been banished from their clans also appeared to burn fiercely as we sailed through. The day quickly came and exposed us to those hunting us.

_{The Warring Clan Prepares The Fire For Us.}

Our fleet quickly approached the mouth of the river, it was time to jump across onto the main shore where we then needed to travel by foot. It was the early morning and with the river mouth facing the southwest, we were in plain view for any in our search. We quickly made the jump across the great river, and soon we were now trekking by foot to the highest obtainable ground in the mountainous terrain. As we prepared to venture onwards, warriors of a large clan, one quickly formed at the end of the primordial era surrounded us. We were quickly carried to their camp. The effigies of noble warriors and truth-seekers burning en masse in the flames that birthed the clan. Their consumption is considered to be quite the delicacy among the clan, and I feared that we were next for their barrage. The focus of the clan would be their downfall. The sharp one and crafty elder quickly devised a plan for us to escape the flame, we would strike right before the effigies were completely ash, when they were most fixated on this disgusting ritual. Sure enough, just as they were focused on their effigies, we lashed out. The other leaders went right for our guards while the elders and I devised a plan for the mountains. Their effigies perished but we were resilient in our fight. It was time for the mountains ahead. The valleys would be critical to succeeding in our endeavors, quickly making it in between mountains before eventually making our final ascent was necessary for completing the goal. Now almost two days in, the pacing was critical to our success.

We fell ill. Soon our preparation began to wain and we could no longer make stops to compensate for the loss. The peaks were in sight yet our trudge was almost preventative of us reaching them. We had made great pace on the way here, what was stopping us now? The illness ravaged us, the foreigner led group began to falter. Oh, the summit was just so close! We limped forth, looking out for rivaling clans. Our supplies low, our condition worsening, it’s all I can feel anymore. Soon, we stand at the mountain. The highest peak in reachable distance, and we must scale it in our fallen state. The leaders convene.

“How do we do this?”
“We cannot simply blow in the wind.”
“But our condition!”
“That is past us.”
“But—”
“We live to reach the summit. The ascent must be swift.”

Soon, the three groups began to make the perilous climb. The fight through ailment was difficult, yet we persevered. The performance of the elders remains one of marvel to me, how does one simply resume as if no exile took place? These mountains were once home to vegetation it seems, yet today they’re all bare. I grabbed a branch to hoist myself. It snaps. If it were those who were sicker than I, the fire could have consumed them for an eternity. The summit was so within reach, yet I could hardly stand. To see but with great astigmatism, to hear but without processing, to speak but without words; all comparable to this instance. Yet the peak was upon us. It was right in front of me. My brothers and sisters in the fight continued to succumb to the illness, but Aa that instant we found ourselves on the plateau of the mountaintop.

I heard the music of heaven above while the fires around me were revealed to be the hell we all face. A moment of introspection reveals all. The evils were all around us in that very moment, preying on our eventual fall. Yet the perseverance prevails in what a marvelous way! The carnivorous tendencies of our fellow man, the universal self-destruction, the evil has consumed us. At this moment, the heavens shone through the power of the sun as it fell onto us, consuming our being. I glance about, we have all succumbed to the plight of the journey, but we have witnessed something no one else has managed to do. I begin to fade away yet wonder what is consuming me and my fellow man, the flames of evil, or something far more powerful? It has gotten the greatest of us, the swift, the sharp, the small, the crafty, the equestrian, the foreigner, the precise. Yet our trials and tribulations have come to an ultimate triumph as we return to ash. As I fade, I ask the beauty of the jewels above to guide me out of the flames surrounding me. In a clan of nameless everybodies, they ask, who am I?

I am the Stargazer, the witness to the beginning and end of times at this very moment.
