In contrast to the worst film you've seen, what is the best movie you have seen?

Dances with wolves is really good. Can't say I've seen the rest though, unfortunately.
Damn, I need to watch more movies.

This is a tough one. I love 'It's a Wonderful Life.' It is a positive movie with great acting and a good message. James Stewart is always a good actor (although not every movie he plays in is great). Lionel Barrymore played terrifically as the mean Mr. Potter.

Back to the Future (I'll go with the first one, although the second one is pretty good as well).

Started watching Bill and Ted once. For some reason it only recorded part of it and I haven't got round to watching the rest. Good so far though.

Bill: What is it Ted?
T: What color is an orange?
B: Ted, you bonehead. An orange is the same color as its name. Just like a lemon.

It's nigh on impossible for a single film to stand out on its own as the best you've ever seen, IMO.

On my list:

It's A Wonderful Life
Dr Strangelove Or: How I Learned To Stop Worrying And Love The Bomb
Three Days Of The Condor
Thelma & Louise
Terminator 2: Judgment Day
Strictly Ballroom
Fargo (Coen Brothers, 1996)
Toy Story 2
Pan's Labyrinth
Boyhood

But if you asked me again tomorrow I'd have a different set of answers.

I have favourite films, I wouldn't claim them to be the best films though.

The best movie to me has to be the movie 1917.
Just a great story and I swear all the guys in and out of the movie theater cried more than once during it

Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure has one of the best movie soundtracks of any movie. I liked all the songs in the soundtrack. The movie itself is not amazing but it is fun to watch.

1917 (2019)
I don't know why but I always liked this film ever since its release.
An accurate telling of a late WWI tale from the British standpoint about two soldiers trying to send a message to prevent a devastating trap.
I enjoy most war movies, so this might be influenced by that.
Got pretty good ratings by critics and fans.
The cool part is that they edited it so that it looks like one continuous shot for the entire movie's POV.
Would reccomend, not to violent, PG-13. 8/10

Why does everyone like 1917?
I’m not saying I didn’t like it
But it was kind of scary and boring for a war film

We like it because its a kinda scary and boring, I mean, its can't too exciting or we get Saving Private Ryan the Prequel. I understand you not liking it though.

The Dark Crystal has got to be my all time favorite movie. I was never creeped out by these kinds of movies as a child and yes, I was about 7 or 8 when watching this one for the first time. Safe to say I had seen it over 20 times from then to now. It was my first real introduction to fantasy and I still think about it often. I always had an attraction to doom & gloom fantasy movies as a kid, and this one truly inspired my young imagination.

BBC showed the 1962 version of The Manchurian Candidate over the weekend. Excellent performances by Angela Lansbury, Frank Sinatra and Laurence Harvey.

The most well-crafted movie I have seen is Robert Eggers' 2019 masterpiece, The Lighthouse. Outstanding cinematography, outstanding acting, and symbolism calling to (in my opinion) some of the most interesting topics of classical mythology.
