• Description of Political Environment: The Jedorian Federation is a federal constitutional representative republic made up of 25 Provincial Republics. Jedoria is ran through a unicameral legislature known as the Senate, comprised of 500 representatives, 20 from each Provincial Republic. The leader of Jedoria is known as the Duke, and is elected to a single six year term. The Duke is responsible for the running of the Executive Branch, and is tasked with guiding domestic and foreign policy while enforcing the laws passed by the Senate. The High Court serves as Jedoria's judicial branch and is tasked with interpretation of the Jedorian Federal Constitution. The Court is seated by 25 Judges, one appointed by each Provincial Republic and approved by the Senate.

Both government levels have the authority to levy taxes and oversee administration of their spheres of control.   Jedoria has a mixed economy, providing domestic sources for most of its citizens needs, but struggles to compete with other states in the international market, especially in information technology, medical services and equipment, and automobiles. The Jedorian Federal Defense Forces consist of 250,000 men under arms with an additional 300,000 in reserve. In theory the Provincial Republics are authorized to maintain their own military forces, but those that do field only a small number of uniformed personnel. The Jedorian Federal Army is the largest branch with 160,000 troops organized into eight divisions; 2 mechanized, 2 armored, four infantry, with an additional six independent combat brigades; 2 mechanized, 2 armored, 2 naval infantry, and 2 airborne. The second largest branch, the Federal Air Force, consists of 50,000 personnel and 700 aircraft of all types. The Federal Navy fields roughly 120 major vessels, mostly frigates and destroyers backed up by a small number of submarines. The Federal Defense Forces lack significant force projection capability beyond the capacity for limited expeditionary efforts such as international peacekeeping, of which the Federation could supply roughly a brigade's worth of troops. The JFDF lacks aircraft carriers, nuclear submarines, strategic bombers, or intercontinental ballistic missiles.

For most of Jedorian history the concept of a unified Jedorian state existed only in the ambitions and dreams of warlords and kings. Divided into various Kingdoms, duchies and principalities, the Jedorian nation would remain this way well into the modern era, only achieving the first steps towards unification in the 18th and 19th centuries amid various inner squabbles and conflicts. This decentralized state understandably has left Jedoria in a position of weakness relative to some of its neighbors, which has involved both the losing and reclaiming of land. Since unification in the early modern era Jedoria has undergone several evolution and civil conflicts before establishing as a Federation in the mid 20th century. Since then Jedoria has been largely stable in its unity, but retains its strong federal tendencies as a result of its often divided history.
