the ARD or "anomaly research department" is a department of the zarnicovian novan government that researches and contains anomalies in the NS universe.
currently anomalies:
ARI-1 a group of crafters who have crafted many of the anomalies in containment
ARI-2 a bunker that has a button that if powered can reset time up to a week back.
ARI-5 a creation of ARI-1. it is a heavy metal that is bulletproof and resistant to heavy weaponry
ARI-7 a machine that makes an identical copy of something (must fit inside of a small area to work limiting the size of the object)
ARI-12 a plant species that grows everywhere it can get into at a pace of 4 meters of growth an hour. it can be turned into ARI-12-2 which is some sort of non-addictive drug that can kill most diseases
ARI-13 a large dragon with extreme adaption and growth.
ARI-14 a spirit that loves to torture human beings in many ways
ARI-15 made by ARI-1 a supercomputer that hates humanity
ARI-16 made by ARI-1 a contagious disease
ARI-17 a large machine that seems to be a portal to another universe
ARI-18 a state that only moves when no one is focusing on it.
ARI-19 a large piece of machinal parts that can produce a force field
ARI-20 a room that has a different set of physics than our physics
ARI-21 a werewolf bacteria that infects others by biting them.
ARI-22 a cloak that makes you invisible if you wear it.
ARI-23 is a robot that has a human face
ARI-24 a poisouse gas that corroids everything it touchs
ARI-25 unknown thing. attacks. only appears in the dark
ARI-26 a group of ghosts that make funny noices but aren't known to attack
ARI-27 a map that changes.
ARI-28 a man that attacks and kills when look at his chest or face.
ARI-29 a device that can destroy all electronics
ARI-30 a device that can do mind control
ARI-31 a virus that makes infected people extremely powerful
ARI-32 an anti-matter reactor
ARI-33 an infinitely expanding ball of iron (currently)
ARI-34 unknown. Kills towns between 200 and 1,000 people. only image known of him:

*prisoners enter and nothing to 2 of them but the third one starts coughing*

prisoner 3: "I feel sick"
prisoner 1: "what the heck is happening"
researcher: "it is very likely a biological hazard. send him to the infirmary"
*prisoners are sent to infirmary for medically evaluation and help*

*they start CPR and 40 seconds later vitals restart*

*the injured later die and then regain vitals without help they are contained in a room for later testing*

intercom: "mobile task force epslon-11 designated "nine-tailed fox of the SCP foundation ally of the ARD has entered the site all personal are recommended to stay in evacuation bunkers or any other safe area while the unit clears the building"
*more reinforcements arrive dividing into groups of three*

intercom: "alpha-1 warhead activated all personal evacuate the building!"

*the nuke goes off but most of the ARIs are out of the site so it has very little effect*

commander: "all men to battle positions ARIs we're spotted coming towards us."
men: "yes, si..."
*ARI-14 starts coming out of a hole in the ground. soldier fire on it to no effect*
john (soldier): "we're having no effect!"
*ARI-14 grabs a soldier and pulls him done crying*
commander: "shoot, run!"
*ARI-14 is not spotted positions retreat as ARI-13 is spotted*

*zarnicovian novan troops retreat to mt. romilsky where positions are set up*
commander: "ARI-13 spotted fire!"
*the zarnicovian novan troops fire anti-tank rounds and mass amounts of machine-gun fire to a minor effect*

meanwhile in the mountain
soldier: "the trap is set sir"
sergeant: "do it"
*the soldier shoots three shots at a prisoner reducing him to a crying body*
sergeant: "ok, now we run!"
*ARI-14 forms and starts taking the prisoner into his layer*
sergeant: "active it!"
*containment of ARI-14 is complete*
commander: "ARI-14 is no more focus firing on the dragon!"

ARI-13 contained successfully

[Dursea]

After much negotiation between Zarnicovia Nova, SETA, and Dursea, Dursea has dispatched three SF Junior Bounder Pods to Site 2, where ARI-13 is contained, in an attempt to destroy it. For security purposes, the operators' names will not be revealed, though their names may be in the future. All were recent graduates from the Bounder Special Forces Academy.

Unspecified Date and Time, Bound Port Near Dursea V

Pod 1

Pod 1's leader was excited. He reviewed the plan again with his podmates as they entered the bounding ship, as he had already done many times. Then they were ready. They stepped inside the bounding ship.

Pod 2

Pod 2 pod had been the top pod in the Academy, Special Forces and otherwise, for the past 12 years. Their leader knew he was ready, but he was nervous. He'd viewed Zarnicovian briefs on the beast he was to help kill. Even if it was constrained, so many things could go wrong. He received a mental message from one of his podmates. Calm. As far as they knew, they were the only two who could do this. He looked over. She was ready. He took a deep breath and walked into the Bounding ship.

Pod 3

Pod 3's leader was big, strong... and nervous as all hell. He did not want to potentially risk his life to kill another nation's problem, much less with Pod 2, which had been an enemy of his since the day pods were assigned. He scowled at the bounding ship's crew. He thought to himself, let's just get it over quickly. He stepped into the bounding ship.

Site 2, Zarnicovia Nova

An observer would have a hard time guessing what was going on over Site 2 that day. There were many comings and goings, but even that would be unsurprising, right up until the three eight-meter-wide molten-silver-covered spheres appeared from nowhere, a meter or so above the ground near the entrance. 5 people dropped to the ground from each, meeting up with a Zarnicovian who would explain the situation.

"Good, you are all here," he said. "The situation is urgent, we do not know how long we can keep the beast contained." The pods exchanged concerned looks before walking down the stairs to the site's lobby. A scientist greeted them there.

"You know what to do?"

"Yes," said Pod 2's leader. "Let's get this over with."

He led them down further, to a heavily reinforced glass cell with a concrete hallway all around it. Inside was the most monstrous beast any of the Bounders had ever seen. It was a huge dragon, its length being hard to tell as it was curled up on the cell floor. But this was the type of thing they'd been trained for. The Bounders spread out around the cell, raised their gloved hands, and began the steady task of ripping apart the dragon's atoms.

An alarm sounded in their minds as they all hit the ground. The dragon was shrieking into their minds. Pod 2's leader was the first to get back up, fighting the pain in his skull. His podmate, the one he had exchanged mental messages with earlier, did the same. She sent him an image of the dragon's head. Oh! If they took that out, it would no longer be shrieking and they could focus on the rest of the dragon. As they did that, the dragon's shrieks doubled in volume, but the two Bounders gritted their teeth and kept going. The process took all of 30 seconds. Then the shrieks stopped, the dragon head- and brain-less. But their work wasn't over; they needed to finish off the dragon before it regenerated. With the help of the other Bounders, now getting to their feet, they managed it. ARI-13 was no more. But all the Bounders were left questioning, what was that thing?, how could it shriek like that?, and, once they noticed that no-one else had been affected, why were we the only ones? But regardless, their mission had been accomplished, and it was time to go home.

Pods for this report were numbered in random order. Pods have no formal names until they manage an impressive accomplishment. The pod that had been Pod 2 for this operation was given the name Dragonslayer Pod for its actions. Its members were promoted to full Bounders and its leader, a full Pod Leader.

Site 2

The Zarnicovians had invited the Bounders to stay the night, an offer which the Bounders gratefully accepted. Anything would be better than the hard, cold beds and space food that awaited them at base. The leaders informed command of their decision, and command approved it. Not that the Bounders would've cared if they hadn't; the Dursean military could hardly punish the pods that had achieved such a success.

So the Bounders were there when the alarm went off the next day. They hadn't been woken, and had taken the extra sleep gladly. A Zarnicovian scientist walked into their quarters and told them to get into uniform quickly; ARI-13 had survived from a single atom.

Its head was all that had been regenerated at that point, perhaps the single atom that must have remained. The Bounders were thorough, but they couldn't catch everything. Pod 2's leader quickly formed a plan, based on the lectures he had received back when he was a teen, about what happened if you didn't bound successfully. The process of bounding with Bounder gloves was mostly taken up by gathering enough matter to recreate you wherever you bound. But if you have less than that, you fail to materialize. Some say your atoms are crushed and split and spread across space and time, some say you enter a weird place called the Rift, some say you just disappear. But regardless, it would kill ARI-13 if that happened to it. But the dragon couldn't bound, of course. So how to make it do so? The young leader had never tried it, but he suspected you could force someone else to bound without them having collected the right amount of matter. He told the group the plan. If it didn't work then, it never would for anyone, so he had the other Bounders pack into two of the bounding ships and leave.

5 minutes later

His podmates had left. So had most of the Zarnicovian scientists. The ones left behind had been killed. The pod leader knew that the dragon was hunting him now. He could hear it. He stayed just to the side of the door to the quarters where the Bounders had stayed the previous night to avoid being seen. But the dragon could smell him, he was sure. Every noise made him jump now.

8 minutes later

He heard another noise. But this seemed different. Louder, more urgent. Then it was inside the room. The dragon was still mainly just a head, but it had its neck back now too. It spotted him, turned, and jumped at him, biting at his leg. He pointed his gloves at the beast, concentrated. He strained, his head nearly bursting out of his skull. He couldn't do it. He was going to die here. Then the shrieking came. He went to the ground immediately. But he wondered if the dragon, now focused on injuring his mind, was still preventing a bound. He didn't even know if it had prevented a bound in the first place, but it was worth a try. He pointed his gloves at the dragon again, reached out to its mind and... *poof* it was gone. He couldn't walk now. His leg was bloody. The bounding ship crew would leave and he'd be left to bleed out and die.

6 hours later

He woke up. He must have been sleeping. He was confused at first, thinking why am I on the ground like this? Then it all came rushing back. He was going to die here, starved, bleeding, in the middle of nowhere. But something was nagging at his mind. His gloves! How could he not have thought of that? He looked at his hands. The gloves were still on. He got the amount of matter he'd need to bound, fixed the image of the bound port deck in his mind, and bounded home.
